The only skill they reference is a bardic knowledge. But I would say kn:local. Basically you need to diagram/catalog it, but not much more. You can try to activate it if desired.

Morvius stops and catalog the bell for the socity.
Using focused trance revelation for K. Local 25
After he is done an idea comes to mind.
Maybe we could use this thing to make the prisioners surrender. Then he tries to activate the bell aiming for that goal.

GM Aarvid |

Morvius enters a trance and is able to validate the is a true relic, the Bell of Obediance you sought.
A bell dating back to the time of old Azlant is
rumored to make those who hear its clear ring susceptible
to suggestion.
25+ Some whisper that human hands did not construct
the bell, but rather that the aberrant masters of a once
mighty empire crafted it.
Ringing the bell is simple. The tone from the large bell is clear and soothing.
Yes, just cataloging the description of the bell is the relic is all that was asked of you.

![]() |

After checking the bell Morvius reconsiders his course of action. This is our bell. But I am not sure its human made. We better leave it alone. He takes a deep breath thinking. We have accomplished our mission but... I think we should keep going and put an end to the madness in this place. Those derros must be help responsible for their actions and meet the justice of Taldor.

GM Aarvid |

After ringing the bell, the rats in the courtyard have scattered from gnawing on the bodies of the 4 fallen Derro.
moving on?

![]() |

So its a magic bell? Big deal. August then looks at An and says, Ending madness sounds like more fun than playing music on bells. Right, An?

![]() |

It's just the society being opportunistic and getting more information about this while they can. However, I agree - there are more important issues at hand.
After making a couple of quick notes and committing to memory as much about the bell as he can Hawk is anxious to move on to the bigger threats at hand.
[ooc]I say the left room now.[ooc]

GM Aarvid |

Heading over to the room on the left, the door opens with a shove, bushing back some debris.
This 30-foot-by-35-foot room houses the prison’s mess hall. It contains several enormous wooden tables, stained by years of use and abuse. The room smells musty and rotten.
Looking south is another door, already open.
This large kitchen holds culinary equipment needed to serve a large number of prisoners. Several dead prison cooks lie here, their bodies slashed and stabbed repeatedly.

![]() |

Holman makes his way stealthily to the southern door and peers inside.
Stealth (Take 10): 10 + 15 = 25
Perception (Take 10): 10 + 9 = 19

GM Aarvid |

Holman enters the kitchen and other than the mess and bodies, the only thing of note is that the wooden handles scattered about the floor are knife handles devoid of blades.

![]() |

Holman looks to the others and shrugs. "Nothing in there. Let's head back to the north, I suppose, make sure all of the rats and such are taken care of."

![]() |

Ok, no problem....
As they progresses into the new room, suddenly An's armor and gear weigh down on him and he lets out a small grunt.
"Well there goes that extra strength. Too bad, I was getting use to it! August you have to get him to cast it on you sometime! It gives you an amazing boost in combat."

GM Aarvid |

The party regroups in the center hall after exploring the side rooms and the bell.
Heading back to the north, the large court with the fallen Derro is strangely quiet.

GM Aarvid |

yes, you entered from the south. I think I cut off the front doors when I did the screen grab.

GM Aarvid |

You press onward towards the north and see a set of sturdy gates slightly open leading to a chamber beyond. There are smaller doors to the east and west.

GM Aarvid |

Moving us along so we do not run out of time...let me know if any other actions prior to approaching door.

Hawk, Morvius then the creature goes again...

![]() |

Sorry, internet went down at my place in the middle of my editing. About the elemental, does it have any DRs? If not vulnerabilities...?
Morvius moves behind August, draws his glaive and attacks it.
Attk: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Dmg: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Hawk's Lifelink kicks in and begins to mend the wounds of those around him.
He then unleashes a burst of energy to heal his allies and lets out a battlecry.
Swift action- battlecry - Everyone +1 to hit, can reroll a save
Channel Energy (selective channel): 3d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 1) = 5
Allies heal 5+channel. Hawk takes 5 from everyone that was damaged (so 15 I believe).

GM Aarvid |

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe sunder only works on items - maybe constructs, but not here.
Morvius stabs his glaive over the head of August, striking a small chunk of dirt off the arm of the beast.
Hawk absorbs the wounds of his three injured allies onto himself.

Hawk is going to end the link with Holman Immediate action and then channel again.

![]() |

No kidding, and its been site-wide for me except to two straight 20s in my Emerald Spire game.

GM Aarvid |

August swings again, smashing the other side of the doorjam with his swing.
Morvius likewise stabs at the creature with his glaive, but fails to connect.

Party up...

GM Aarvid |

Readying is a standard action, so the way I read it, you can 5' or move, then ready to do another standard or move action. However, it may be moot if you were readied for it to approach, it did not, so trigger would not have been met.
