As a couple reminders now that we are underway:
1) Please keep HP and AC status updated in your profile tag
2) I will roll group init and track actions in order. If you want to post ahead, feel free. I may move you or allow you to change your action if someone else goes before you and alters the playing field (blocks a charge lane, is injured, creates a pit, drops your target etc)
3) Miss is always low (20 or 50) on [1d100] if miss chance applies
4) Avoid posting dice rolls without some narrative or dialog.
5) If you cannot post daily (due to travel/holiday etc) let me know so we can bot you. I will likely not post on Christmas or New Years, so I will not expect others to. Enjoy time with your families instead!
6) Finally, if you want to try something a little off base...ask me. Our goal is to have fun. Sometimes the odd actions are the most memorable. :-)

Dotting with my raging persona so you know it's the same person.

GM Aarvid |

Ok, I think we have 4-5, so enough to get started. I will PM the other two if we do not see them by tomorrow.

![]() |

Really hoping our cleric shows up. Would have gone in with a different character had I known. :-)

GM Aarvid |

I PM'd GarretC. (the cleric) and will give him until tomorrow to join. I have an alternate (a blaster/cleric) waiting if we get a no-show. So either way, the party should have some healing joining.

No major worry there was a bard - we just had multiple beat sticks.

My apologizes, I didn't see tha game starting
Two things; first I described my character as wearing a tunic because I like to use continually the Sleeves of many garment he bought. Not sure if it will affect anything.
Second, I want to buy a dull gray ioun stone to cast a rpoduce 4th level continual flame on it. With a certain boon I can do it once in my career Boon and confirmation it's allowed. Would you mind to sign it in my chronicle sheet when we finish? Can I cast it before we embark and, thus, have all my spells available?

![]() |

Just wanted to give a heads up about my buffs in combat. I will be posting it as well but try to remember his buffs in your attack rolls, as I've had to repeatidly remind people in the past.
With the Banner of Ancient Kings and Flag Bearer feat he provides to following in combat..
Inspire Courage: +3 Circ hit/dam, +3 Morale to fear.
Flagbearer: +2 Morale hit/dam/charm saves.
Banner: +2 Resist vs mind affecting.
All these stack.. He often casts Haste as well so.

GM Aarvid |

Garret - welcome. Purchase and casting here is fine in town.
Wiz- always good to put party buffs on the map in a text box. Makes one more reminder. I know I miss or forget when multiple are active.

![]() |

Speaking of which, where is the link to the map?

GM Aarvid |

The link to the map and other documents will always be at the top of the page...when it is time :)

GM Aarvid |

Maps and Notes are Google slides at the top of the page. Let me know if you have problems viewing them. I switched to these from Google drawings since they can be updated from mobile devices a bit easier.

![]() |

No problem - different GMs, different styles. I'm used to seeing it in the GM header tag.

![]() |

Reading the description Wizzy can use the Know(Engin) function with a take 10 so unless someone else has that I suggest he carries it.. I have a Haversack to put it in as well for safe keeping.

![]() |

Yeah, getting swallowed by a Rhemoraz sucks
Taking this to discussion not to derail. That is my most epic GM death ever. The thief was grabbed, swallowed whole, and the battered party chose to run rather than fight. We estimated roughly 1.5 million points of damage. One of two resurrections I've required.

![]() |

That was my most memorable death. I had to sell my first adamantine cutlass to pay for the restoration cost.
The beast went to bite, and fandral being the cocky S.O.B, he elected to parry it. Not successful at all might I add. So with-in two rounds, my level 5 swashbucker took 21d6 points of damage plus modifiers.
My team, bless their souls, cut me out and brought my body back.

![]() |

That was two rounds. Extend it out over 8 hours of digestion!

Everyone post if you can but we will not push forward until Monday. Enjoy the time with family.

GM Aarvid |

Have a Safe and Happy New Year everyone. BTW I will driving back home either Jan 1&2 or 2&3, so posts from phone will be short in that span.

GM Aarvid |

Happy New Year!
As far as some of the discussion on play style... I have no problem with a character acting like a jerk but I do expect players not to be jerks. If you have a character as a member in the Society they are expected to cooperate with others but not necessarily like each other. So there can be petty feuds or disagreement on approach but the success of the mission must come first. No deliberate sabotage or PVP etc. Back in the early days factions could actually compete or even conflict with each other but that seems less the case now. But having a strong personality is part of the fun of role playing...just be willing to accept the consequences in character if the others in the party do not aid you etc
.

![]() |

sounds fair to me...

GM Aarvid |

Back home finally from two days of driving. Will be a bit more consistent on my posts henceforth. I apologize for the terse posts from the road.

GM Aarvid |

Paizo site has been crashing all day for me. Not sure if I will get a post to stick or not.

Ok, my usual job as support cleric as been "usurped" by wizzy and thats' what I was doing most scenarios but the last (in which I was meleeing, but it seems unnecesary seen how hard Clandelve can hit). Not complaining, just seeing an opportunity to learn. So if anyone has suggestions about what Garret can do I'll gladly accept them.
I still have some spells to help people free from grapples, make them flight and can pick status removal spells and try to be useful. And if you have all covered, well, I really like the opportunity to buff Clandelve with "a bit of luck": Since I created this character I wanted the opportunity to use it in a two weapon wielder (I thought about a rogue, but a bull-rusher fighter will work too).

![]() |

Although I don't prescribe to the traditional roles of most classes, I wouldn't worry too much about worrying that Wizzy has "ursurped" your job. Wizzy is doing the bard buff thing which is in it's own category of "what it does".
With a strength of 14, and a con of 14, you're in a reasonable spot to throw yourself into melee and lend a hand there. Also, clerics get a lot of utility that bards can never aspire to (short of edge archetype cases): channel energy, removing conditions, blessing of fervor (did I mention blessing of fervor?). I see you have unselected spells, that too is flexibility that Clerics get over Bards.
I wouldn't hang up much on one what one combat has you doing - chances are at some point we're going to be glad we have a Cleric.

![]() |

While Wizzy is a great buffer, as I built him for that, he is hardly a healer.. He also tries to not step on toes.. Without a group to buff he would be no challenge at all, so much in fact he has ran twice in his travels to keep from a tpk.. Expeditious retreat can be a lifesaver lol..

![]() |

I don't worry, I just ask for advice.
I just created Garret after melting what I read about a buffer cleric and my idias of versatility (a little more strengh, int, etc to can do a little more) and I'm using him to learn how to play a cleric instead of just hate the idea of playing one (and it turns out I really like my cleric).
My last scenario was the first time I had to do more melee than buffing others, and I it alllows me to learn a little more. Now I'm playing with a great bard doing it's stuff, and a learned a little more (like don't waste time casting bless). But I also like to ask because is another way of learning.

![]() |

Hey Garret, one thing that would be particularly cool is if you could do a template for your channels, aids, etc. to know if we've been hit by them. :-)

GM Aarvid |

FYI - Ice storm hitting us this weekend, so we could potentially have service interruptions.

![]() |

Moving from play discussion...
But a BoL scroll in a belt pouch (especially one not owned by the caster) isn't going going to be a whole lot of use...

![]() |

At this point I know...I forgot to hand it off to the cleric. I thought read magic bypassed that?

![]() |

I was thinking more along the: needs to be within 5' to expend a 5-step, a move to retrieve, and a standard to cast issue. If it's in a spring loaded sheath (GM fiat depending), they can at least move to get to you!
You're correct though that the caster would need to cast read magic to read the scroll and go, "okay got it, now I know how to read this" before combat began.

![]() |

GM, I know more or less about status spell, but I think I can figure who's burned and who's not, and who's been wounded even if I don't know how much. If not it'll be hard to cure them as needed
Blanchbeak, I'm not sure it's possible to do that. We have a disscusion about it in my lodge and mosts GMs doesn't agree with that, and for what I've read there's no consensus about it.
I have a springloaded wraistsheet, do we have the GM fiat? :D

![]() |

Hey everybody with AoEs, don't forget that AoEs target corners, not squares Here's a link to a google doc with formats.
Notably - Wizzy, your 10' radius template is much larger, and Garrett, your 30' radius is a bit smaller.
I replaced the original glittderdust template as an example.
