(Wheel of Fate X)-Watcher- Class Skill: Eternal Imprisoned Onlooker- There is only one Watcher Class Servant in existence. She is unable to directly involve herself in the Holy Grail Wars. Although she can talk to, give advice to and even return memories of previous Holy Grail Wars to servants and masters, she is unable to take any direct action for or against any of the other servants or masters that would be seen as giving an advantage to any given side. In Holy Grail Wars with stray servants she is able to hunt stray servants freely to increase her Command Spells. She is summoned with one command spell for every servant summoned including her self; she retains her command spells even after the end of each Holy Grail war. Her role in the grail wars is to observe record and remember all of the events that occur during each war. She is something like the Grails eyes and ears. She has forgotten her true name but her identity is a human sacrificed by the original seven Mages to summon the Grail for the first time.
(Justice XI)-Saber- Class Skill: Magic Resistance- Saber is frequently considered the most powerful class in the war, due to their ability to cancel out most modern magical spells; this has earned them the nickname “Mage-Killer.” Saber is the first of the three knight classes. All Saber class heroes receive some level of magic immunity, even if they didn’t have any in their own time. The classification of a servant as a Saber is dependent not on their abilities, but their skills with a sword and their generally noble mentality. (King Arthur is only able to be summoned as a Saber class because she is still alive)
(Judgment XX)-Lancer- Class Skill: Battle Continuation- Lancer is the second Knight class, often considered the one of the most useful classes, and second favorite after Saber. Lancers are considered one of the most useful classes due to a combination of strong combat skills and strong class ability. Lancer’s ability to endure wounds and retreat to allied territory makes them excellent for both offensive and defensive strategy. If a Lancer loses a fight he/she has the ability to retreat from it and possibly survive normally lethal wounds to fight again. Lancer is also able to retreat almost instantly from the front lines to defend their master from ambushes and assassinations. Lancer class is only assigned to servants who use lances, spears or other pole arms that are used for piercing.
(Devil XV)-Berserker- Class Skill: Mad Enhancer- Berserker considered the most powerful class after Saber. Berserker is a class given to heroes who became famous for acts of madness, had wild and beast like fighting styles, were known to have gone berserk on the battle field, or were known for betrayals. Berserker’s have the ability to sacrifice their intelligence to gain power, speed, and strength. Their class skill can be turned on and off, however they may only utilize this skill while they are summoned as a Berserker.
(Chariot VII)-Rider- Class Skill: Riding- this is the class of mounted soldier. By themselves Riders are relatively low powered, but make up for it with their mobility and the power of their mounts/vehicles. Many riders can be summoned under other classes.
(Sun XIX)-Archer- Class Skill: Independent Action- This is the third Knight class. This class specializes in ranged combat. Any spirit specializing in long range weapons is considered for Archer class, even if said weapon is a modern firearm. Archer is considered the only class that has a strategic method for dealing with Saber’s Magic Resistance, as it is the only class that specializes in long range physical attacks. Archer is not a favorite class due to its class ability allowing the servant to not only fight independently, but also allowing them to betray or disobey their masters.
(Moon XVIII)-Assassin- Class Skill: Presence Concealment – Assassins are generally a weak class neither good at melee combat, nor at magic. Assassin’s primary advantages come from its ability to conceal its presence, to gather information or to assassinate other masters without direct combat. Originally the only assassin summon able was Hassan-I-Sabat, however this has since changed to allow other spirits that were famous for ambushes and assassinations.
(Wizard I)-Caster- Class Skill: Territory Generation, Item Generation-This class is any spirit that specializes in the use of magic. Caster is fairly week at physical combat, but makes up for it in its ability to collect information on its opponents without necessarily being present.
(Tower XVI)-Sentinel- Class Skill: Guardian Knight- this class is given to Servants who in life were tasked with the defense and protection of lands, people or kingdoms. Servants of this class often have high defenses. This is an extremely common class. This class often overlaps with Vanguard and the three knight classes. Many Sentinels are known for tanking or crushing styles of combat.
(Hierophant V)-Vanguard- Class Skill: Bravery- this class specializes in fast aggressive attacks. Servants of this class are generally recognized for their risky and daring aggressive strikes against their enemies. This is one of the most common classes for a servant to be summoned under. Many Vanguards are known for high risk high reward styles of fighting. There are not many servants in this class that can also be summoned as an archer due to the contradiction of forward fighter and ranged tactics, but the two are NOT mutually exclusive.
(Strength VIII)-Bruiser- Class Skill: Reckless Abandon- Bruiser is a class that is given to heroes who were famous for relying on their shear physical strength in battle. Bruisers frequently have high physical attack and defense, making situations where trading equal numbers of attacks favorable to them. Most Bruisers ether fight bare handed, or use heavy weapons that are unlikely to chip.
(Emperor IV)-Ruler- Class Skill: Imperial Privilege- This class is a catch all class for any hero who was recognized as a form of ruler or commander. Kings, queens, emperors, empresses, lords, dictators, etc. are often able to be summoned under this class instead of whatever classes they would be normally summoned under. Some generals and military leaders are also summon-able under this class. This class tends to give the servant the most freedom to use what ever abilities they could during life, and is one of the least defined. A Ruler who can also be summoned as a Saber will fight like a Saber; a Ruler who is also an Archer will fight like an Archer. This class primarily allows two heroes of the same class to be summoned at once. Many Rulers have skills that will summon other heroes to fight alongside or in their stead. Ruler is generally considered one of the most powerful classes.
(Hanged Man XII)-Phantom- Class Skill: Shape Shifting-This is a unique class that does not possess any Heroic spirits or anything similar. Sometimes a Master who draws this class will not even have a servant at all, but an ability that compensates or replicates a servant. The servants and abilities summoned under this class all share the traits of imitation and variability. Several servants summoned under this class have the ability to imitate, copy, or mix and match parts of other servants ether at random or from ones participating in the war. This class is extremely variable and can often be ether extremely powerful or virtually useless.
(Star XVII)-Beast- Class Skill: Inhuman- This is a class that is reserved for non-human servants such as Dragons and Beasts. There are not many servants summoned in this class. Because of the secrecy ruling this class has a particular disadvantage in that it generally consists of servants that are unable to blend in with society and are thus unable to act freely outside of magic barriers.
(Fool 0)-Fool- Class Skill: Zero- This class is given to Spirits who did not do or possess heroic feats or vast power, but have been added to the list of Servants anyway. They often possess abnormal skills and abilities not related to their actual abilities, but are metaphors for their lives. Rather than participate in a fight normally, they rely on skills based on events that happened in their lives to defeat their enemies. This is the weakest servant class.
(Lovers VI)-Slayer- Class Skill: Gallantry – This class is given to spirits who earned their fame on the battle field by slaying ether mighty beasts, or great warriors of other legends. Heroes of this class get bonuses for fighting head on, without the use of sly tactics.
(Temperance XIV)-Avenger- Class Skill: Wrath- This is the class that was summoned during the 3rd Holy Grail War that “broke” the system. As a result several people were able to rewrite and add new rules to the Holy Grail War over the course of several Wars. In what was believed to be an attempt to fix the system the Grail has made this class an official class. This class is given to those who sought or seek revenge in or for their lives.
