As you get closer to Cross, you can now feel heat upon your faces from fires all over the town, the largest of which is coming from the centre of town at what you assume is the town hall. From here you can see that the town has been ransacked, houses have been smashed into, and blood and gore covers the ground in several places.

"Well I see some ale barrels that are dripping something strange. Who wants to guess its the same stuff from that necromatic book. They drank it then dead, then became undead. Great at worst we have a city full of undead."
He really hated being right sometimes. He blamed the Tyrene.

Boomer Bellowpiper |

"Them gods damned bastards burnt mah shop!" Boomer yelled, starting to run towards his home. When he saw it his eyes went wide.
"oh sh*t" he muttered with a shake of his head.
and then he was running away as fast as he could.
I don't know how much gunpowder Boomer had stockpiled, but I bet it wasn't a small amount..."

Darius Vladicus |

When he first sees the flames, Darius stops in his tracks, eyes wide with astonishment.
Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Then he notices the barrels. I should have known better than to trust that vampiric snake.
Seeing Isaac rush in, Darius follows him. You may not like me, but someone has to watch out for your naive neck.

GM Tierce |

The ground shakes as a large explosion occurs in the direction of the Shop district. Half the block is caught in the blast while the other half is on fire. Your not eaxctly sure what caused the explosion, but it was something nasty.
Except for Boomer, he knows
As you make your way through town, you hear the sounds of battle coming from the town hall. Men screaming, swords clashing, you even hear the sounds of small "pop's". Turning around the corner to the town hall you see what remains of the militia fighting off a good number of undead citizens and adventurers. Tok is standing on a barrel behind the wall around the town hall, tossing what appears to be firecrackers at the zombies, but they seem to explode with more fury then your average firecracker. You also see the troll and halfling militia members, as well four others that you recognize.
In the centre of the fighting militia, you see Groden Honorbound, his two handed hammer raised high. He smashes into undead like they are nothing. He raises a battlecry and the militia join in. You count over twenty zombies still attacking them

I'm just going to stick with what I posted in the discussion thread.
Isaac's standard glows and emanates golden light, washing over the pack of 8 zombies as he charges at them with the intention of getting to Groden. That's for 1 damage, will save DC 14 for half.

So I've been doing the Blunderbuss wrong. The Scatter quality lets me make a single attack against each target in range, not a single attack roll applied to everything. That's good except that now I need to know how many baddies I can catch in my blast before I make my rolls.

GM Tierce |

Boomer, that will significantly slow down combat, it wouldn't be so bad if we were playing with a VT or at a real table. So here is what we are going to do. The maximum your cone can hit is six mobs, so you will either decide to shoot six and provoke an AoO or five at range with no AoO. Make all five/six attack rolls in a round and we can then determine which ones hit

GM Tierce |

Boomer will make a second attack roll next round
You are all slightly unhinged as you recognize the zombies as fellow citizens and friends from your neighbourhood.
Soris hurls his needles at a zombie, which keeps advancing on them. Galdor jumps into the fray and cleaves a zombie in half before turning to a second to impale on his sword. Galdor cleanly misses but he holds out his hand and splashes acid at the zombie. The zombie moans in pain and collapses from the combined acid and needles in his chest from Soris.
Issac charges through the zombies and lets the power of Praetor wash over them, and Felisin uses the same power to wash away the hurt of her friends.
Three of the remaining zombies pile into Issac as he tries desperatly get to Groden.

Felisin's arrow strikes true and embeddes itself in the chest of a zombie. It continues to shamble forward, moaning its complaint. Darius' sword flashes and the zombie is put out of its misery, silenced forever.
Boomer aims his blunderbuss at the group of Zombies and fires, the shot connects with several of the zombies and two of them fall to the blast. The loud resonating sound of Boomer's weapon echoes of the buildings.
Isaac smashes one of his attacking zombies and caves in its head. The zombie shudders a few times and then falls to the ground, dead once again.
The zombies shamble forward for their attacks, The two attacking Isaac are about to smash him to pieces when several arrows strike the zombies. They shamble forward and then hit the dirt. The one still striking at Galdor is similarly riddled with arrows before it hits the dirt.
Perception Check
A spearhead of mounted warriors burst into town and ride down the zombies in front of the town hall. As you examine them closer, you notice that they are Tyrene soldiers. The mounted soldiers dismount, and a standard flag bearer appears with his flag, a large golden XIII upon it.
Knowledge History
A tall man dismounts from the lead horse. His face is very angular and his nose comes down in a point and seems to look like an eagle's beak. His hair is almost completly grey, but he seems very familiar.
He begins to walk over to you, but is distracted as Groden gives out a cry and grabs his chest. The man rushes forward to Groden and turns to his men "Fetch the medic!" He turns to all of you, "Help me get him inside out of the mess and heat... come one old man, don't die yet"

GM Tierce |

You help bring Groden into the town hall and into the study, and you are quickly joined by two 13th medics who look over Groden with the help of Felisin. It's quite apparently that Groden is dying from a heart failure. Groden looks up at Felisin and Isaac with a small smile and cradles Felisin's face in his large hands. "Its ok child, I think it's finally my time... make sure to watch after Isaac for me" He sighs once and closes his eyes.
The eagle nosed man gets up and shakes his head sadly. "Good bye old man... If you will excuse me, I have to dispatch orders to the men to hunt out the rest of the undead and get the fires dealt with. But when I get back, we should all talk. I would like to know why your the only survivors and what exactly happened here." He turns to leave.

GM Tierce |

Darius and Galdor, you have both dealt with Tyrene soldiers before being members of the militia. You have escorted them threw the country on many occasions. However, one thing you notice about the members of the 13th as the pass by on various tasks, the symbol of the eagle that is usually on the chest piece of every soldier is not present. In fact there are no eagle symbols at all, just blank armor. And the flags and standards all display XIII. The armor on these soldiers is well used, not the usual shiniess of the other legions.
