Relax and rest up. We'll still be here when you recover.

![]() |

Friends, forgive me for my late posting. I am on my way to Canberra, Australia, where I will be studying for the upcoming semester.
I am currently posting through a chilean airport's WiFi, and after leaving here, will be on a 15-hour flight. I understand if this means that Fifi needs to be botted in order for the game to flow more naturally.

![]() |

Wanted to share with you guys the commission I ordered for Fifi's character art. Here!
Once again, thank you all for sharing these adventures with me and Fifi!

![]() |

Yeah rest up man, we will be here waiting for you patiently.
Fifi: Safe travels and also nice art for her :D

![]() |

@ GM: No worries, take your time.
@ Fifi: I like the art! And have fun in Australia! That must be exciting.

![]() |

Where does Canberra put you?
That'd be GMT+10. It's 12:26am, just past midnight right now.

![]() |

I will step down from the Gameday game! Thanks!

EM±GM |

just as an fyi... am taking a virtual course all week, from home.
So though I will be sitting in front of my computer, I'll be a bit preoccupied.
Dunno how it will affect updates and such. We shall see.
The class does start at 5 in the freaking morning though... so there is that 8P
Might not be the most alert =)

![]() |

Ha ha! ;-)

![]() |

That's my life man - up and at em by 4:45.

![]() |

Just in case, I'm posting here that if anyone is uncomfortable with the kind of themes that Fifi's demeanor, appearance and behavior provoke, just PM me and I'll try to dial it down.
I understand that adventuring along with a scantily-clad paladin might not be everyone's ideal scenario for their role playing experience, and my job as a player is also to maximize YOUR fun.

![]() |

Marcus will continue to miss the point of everything.

![]() |

All good!!! ;-)

![]() |

Sorry about the delay in my responses. Uni has started and I've got all these groups to make. It's hard to make a decent group when you don't know anyone!

![]() |

I still haven't smited a single enemy since I started playing with Fifi. I'm just trying to play it safe because Ghouls can go paralyze=>coup de grace and instantly kill poor Fifi.
Trying to be useful to the group with the high AC and extra actions, but in terms of raw combat power I'm probably outclassed by everyone.

![]() |

I pray to Sarenrae the ghoul outburst is the fault of some evil Necromancer/plague that attacked the village and not our fault because we didn't kill Jessup.

EM±GM |

So, this particular scenario is the first one I ever played in PbP... and was also my first ever official PFS GM credit.
So it has a particular sentimental value for me.
But I always liked this big fight in the distillery, just from the sheer number of bodies that end up on the board over the coarse of it... always seeming like you're on the edge of getting overwhelmed, but spaced out just enough to hopefully keep it from actually happening.

![]() |

I loved the fight, and specially your descriptions!
Really conveyed the sense of urgency, danger and the high stakes.
Thank you for what you've done so far, GM!

![]() |

First game I ever played in PbP was City of Strangers I/II. First scenario I played ever for PFS player credit was Temple of Empyreal Enlightenment. First GM credit would be the Shadow Lodge retirement scenario... I forget what it was called though.
Sadly this is probably not a scenario that I can see myself running, since as a GM I have a huge bias against sending ghouls at new players. When introducing new players to the game, I really dislike the use of creatures with paralysis. Players tend to lose interest when they aren't involved with a few rounds of combat, especially slow moving combat with new players and lots of behind the GM screen rolls and math that needs to happen. Obviously if a PC gets knocked out that is a fact of the game, but paralysis is nearly guaranteed to take at least one player out of the fight in a Level 1-5 game.
That being said, I'm incredibly impressed with how you handled all of the events and kept every NPC, every monster, and every side of the battlefield relevant. I certainly enjoyed myself and am eagerly looking forward to the rest of the series!
As a note, while I haven't GM'd PbP a ton as of late, I'm starting to get back into the swing of things. I generally recruit by lottery, but I always give my GM's a free pass as appreciation (1 free pass per scenario run). If you ever see me recruiting on Flaxseed or Castamir (GM aliases The Man Behind the Curtain or the Bot Behind the Screen), and you are interested in signing up, you've got a guaranteed seat.

Sorry if last post got too emotional. Fifi can be a bit exaggerated

![]() |

You have no way to prove that, GM!

![]() |

Sorry for going inactive last couple days between the site going down and this stubborn summmer cold I haven't been around at all.

![]() |

For what it's worth, Marcus will never purchase a Wand of Infernal Healing, and (with his impending rank in UMD just in case) will never voluntarily activate one himself. He will, however, grudgingly accept the use of it on himself on rare occasion, and will complain continuously for several minutes afterwards.
On the other hand, never try to use it on my Skald.

![]() |

Sweet jesus thank god it wasn't our fault.
First time I'm glad an evil necromancer/plague attacked a town.

EM±GM |

So, I've dragged this one on long enough, so looks like we'll be ready to go for the 2nd bit come the start of Gameday.
But, I will need, from each of you, an email to send chronicles to as we go through the six planned scenarios, so might as well go about collecting that now! (Don't post it, a pm is fine)
Masym, I still have yours, assuming its not changed... so you should be covered.

![]() |

I'll send you a PM, EM+GM.
Thank you once again for the scenario. You ran it beautifully. A perfect balance of tension, drama, flavor and oomph that really shined through.
Even though this sounds like a farewell, it isn't!
By the way, if we manage to start Scenario 2 after this Saturday, Fifi would actually level up to level 3.
I acquired 2 exp prior to the start of this scenario (1 with Midge!)
I played 2 more scenarios with Fifi two weeks ago, and am planning to play 2 more this Saturday.
I'm not sure if I'm even allowed to do that, actually. New to PFS and all that. Please do tell me if I'm doing it wrong.

![]() |

I use the PCT with Chrome, and yes I have noticed it too. I think the Paizo website upgrade broke it but I think there will be an update shortly to fix that.

![]() |

For handling the disease, should we just roll a truckload of dice assuming Masym is able to provide care via 'treat disease' on a take 10? If I recall correctly, ghoul fever is con damage and 2 saves to cure, although from a full day's rest with long term care, a character heals 2 ability damage per day. One player can provide long-term care for up to 6 patients at once, and Fifi is trained in heal as well, so between Masym and Fifi, if given the time, it seems like treatment of the town and ourselves is a pretty straightforward if not time consuming task.

EM±GM |

You can not naturally heal ability damage until the underlying cause is gone.
So con (and dex) lost to the disease, will not heal from rest until it's cured.
Also, 1 person will not be able to treat everyone. Most them will insist on being in their own homes, and in general there won't be room to have them in close enough proximity to work on more then a few in the time needed to affect the save, since most of those saves will be happening at roughly the same time. =)

![]() |

Umm... once you start playing a PC in a pbp game, you can't play them in anything else.
Alright, didn't know that. Thanks! If so, the end of this first part of the adventure would take me to level 2.
Now my question is: Is there a way I can make the 2 games I played 2 weeks ago not go to waste? As in, can I apply that to another character, or retroactively duplicate Fifi?
As for the Ghoul Fever: I don't think we'll be able to manage with just Heal checks (I think Marcus and I will be fine, but not the townsfolk). We may use Heal check as a way to resist for a few days, but that's it. I remember Masym or Marcus once said we could ask the Lodge for backup. Maybe try that?

EM±GM |

For reference:
The nearest settlement is the one you came in through, the large town of Golsifar on the coast... which is a couple of hours away (west)
The nearest lodge is in Oppara, which is about 120 miles north. (Hmm... actually, I suppose the lodge in Katheer might be just as close... but that's south, in Qadira). Either would be a weeks travel, give or take.

Just letting you know I’m currently suffering from an intense bout of vertigo. I’ll try my best, but I might not manage to keep up with posting over the next few days. Feel free to bot me if needed. Sorry for any potential hold up. And thanks for understanding.
