OK Tal I put the link to the equipment sheet up top.
I started punching in everyones starting gear.
Christoph's profile had a list with weights included so he is all set...
Pharnox and Grokar, I couldn't find your weights listed anywhere, maybe I missed it.
Talric had weights listed but Tal you used one of those kits that lumps a bunch of gear together with one weight, so we need to split that up.
Ghaelja, you're all set.

Pharnox Shadowstrike |

I tried to access the equipment file and it asked for an email and password, so I logged in under my Gmail and it made me send you a request for access. I sent it, but I'm just wondering if anyone else ran into this?

Pharnox Shadowstrike |

@Talric-if you'd like I can do the initial set up for Pharnox's equipment and encumberance and then let you take over from there.

DM Grimmy |
I've got as much info as I could find in the profiles punched in, and I can go a little further looking things up myself but ideally here's what would make my life easy:
In your profiles:
Pharnox, add weights to your list of gear and break down your thieve's kit into individual items
Grokar, add weights to your list of items
Talric, add weights for the individual items in your barbarian's kit
Christoff and Ghae are all set.

Talric of the Northlands |

Alright, since I can't edit the spreadsheet from my iPod, I'll just list weights here for my convienence until I can get on a computer.
Backpack-2 lbs.
Belt Pouch-1/2 lb.
Blanket-3 lbs.
Flint and Steel-N/A
Iron Pot-5 lbs.
Rope-10 lbs.
Torches-5 lbs.
Waterskin-4 lbs.
Soap-1/2 lb.

Pharnox Shadowstrike |

Updated Pharnox's profile with the weights and I'm about to go into the spreadsheet and put them in there. What do you want me to do about the arrows, they come in a grouping of 20 that weighs 3 lbs?
EDIT-My part of the spreadsheet seems to be locked so I can't edit it.

I personally think we would benefit more from heading to Saecaroth first, both for equipment and levels, before going after the big baddy in Rappan Athuk.

DM Grimmy |
Ok your call. It's a peripheral low-level dungeon with a rumored backdoor access to Rappan Athuk, it's called the Mouth of Doom.
There's a third level party in there right now and they kind of need some back-up.
The two dungeons are comparable in challenge rating, I guess the difference being Saecaroth is slightly higher risk and higher reward (but that depends on the size of the group too.)

DM Grimmy |
Honestly, Saecaroth is a really cool little dungeon mod, I don't know why it isn't more famous. And with two entrances it is perfect for the convention style teams competing for loot idea.
So if we want to just stick to that, that's cool. The only thing is, my other game The Mouth of Doom is in a bit of trouble from slow posting. I think it might be dying :(
So I was just brainstorming how to send them some new blood.
Anyway no biggie, if that game folds the refugees from there can jump in your game if they want.

Pharnox Shadowstrike |

There is also the idea of making our way through Saecaroth, the survivers of that head into the Mouth of Doom picking up the stragglers as we go before reaching the backdoor entrance for Rappan Athuk. Just another thought.

DM Grimmy |
That's a cool idea Pharnox.
I'm just worrying too much probably.
It's just ever since they entered the dungeon, only the guy who scouts and one other player have done much posting...
Someone asked me to bring it up and find out what was going on and when I did a couple guys confirmed they had RL stuff getting in the way.

Grokar the Ravager |

I agree with the others that it would be best for us to do the dungeon first, but I'm also willing to go help out if needed.

Pharnox Shadowstrike |

Thanks for letting us know. It's actually fine for me start the real game on Monday, I'm on a 3 day weekend before I start working summer school so I'm stuck strictly mobile till then anyways.

Talric of the Northlands |

I wonder how surprised Ghaelja and Killian are that Talric is speaking like a perfectly civilized human being rather than a crazy barbarian from the Northlands...
(I personally never dump Int because I don't want to be shoehorned into playing Thog. Playing a total retard is never fun-unless you want to play an idiot.)

Grokar the Ravager |

I did forget to mark how much money I had. How much did we start with again? I'm fine with starting with no money if that simplifies things.

Grokar the Ravager |

Yeah, not much of a reason to this early on, especially with Grokar's background. 127 gp, 4 sp remaining.
I admit I have trouble playing low intelligence characters, too. In Pathfinder, the average intelligence for a non hero is like 10, so I figure 8 is like "oh, it's that one 'simple' guy I know". 7 would be like "Is this guy for real?".
Below that I think DM's should require a linguistics roll for them to put words together or roll to remember a skill before being able to use it.
A dumb orc warrior walked down an alleyway and...
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18 Remember: 1d20 - 3 ⇒ (5) - 3 = 2
thought he saw something, but was distracted by shiny.

Talric of the Northlands |

Sweet. As Tal would say: ¨My Journey continues. I will not stop until I have stopped my clan from falling into the icy clutches of Thrym.¨ Also, Grimmy, one thing about Talric's clan: they're slowly descending into chaos, petty infighting, and overall evil due to manipulations of the winter god himself and bloated pride.

Over the years I've come to look at it as the built in mechanical penalties are already there, and beyond that I just trust players to RP their stats in a way that makes sense.
There's so much you can do with for example skill point investment to offset a low stat, which I like because you can get deeper with a character in terms of what is innate natural ability versus something that took a lot of work to be good at.

Talric of the Northlands |

In case you were wondering about my last post in Gameplay, Talric is going to get the Beast Totem rage powers-forgot to put the totem warrior archetype in my stat block.

Talric of the Northlands |

Yeah, never really figured that out either. I guess it does nothing.
Grimmy, BTW, I have to ask you a question about my tournament boon archetype: Are we going to do this RAW or RAI? Titan Mauler is pitiful if you use it RAW, however, I like it RAI because I can swing a massive hammer-plus, I can switch to a (relatively) smaller weapon and a shield if I decide to get all defensive. I would really like to have it for RP purposes, however, I probably won't get it if it's RAW.
Another question: if our character survives the dungeon, does he/she/it get to join another campaign of yours?
One last thing: This quote.
Someone wrote:Unoptimized=More Fun to RP.Unoptimized=Death By Orcus.
This made me spew metaphorical coke out of my nostrils, for some reason.
