Wide smile still on his face, Nobody wants the knife? The halfling asks with surprise. If nobody speaks up. The halfling moves Grip in close so he can take it from the paracountess. Sumac holds it in his off hand, clearly not ready to give up his loaded sling yet.

The halfling will give blade to any if the other adventures who want it, if someone asks.

I think we are ready. The door gentlemen...

The dagger is not magical, though your trained eye does notice that the silver is more than just for looks, it's been treated alchemically. A Knowledge (Planes) check or Craft (Alchemy) will tell you more.

Sadly, I can't do the map here at school.

Zarta’s bedroom is decorated in the colors of Cheliax— ebon black and crimson red. Silk, rare woods, and carefully carved marble compose every bit of furniture in the room. Goose down now litters the room, covering almost every surface and the silken shreds of the cushions that contained it lie about like flayed skin . A post on the massive screened bed is snapped in half, collapsed on the bed and drawing the screened curtains into a ripped slope of formerly fine cloth. Vials of perfume and crystal jars of other cosmetics sit smashed on the marble floor around the dresser. A prominent fixture in the room, a large “X” made of stout wood sits along the west wall, complete with leather shackles and chains. A table sits to its left strewn with various items intended for pleasure, but outwardly resembling implements of pain.

The room is being destroyed by a small creature. It's humanoid with reddish skin and bat-wings. Whipping around is a tail with a barb on the end. Knowledge (Planes) to identify the creature is whipping a box about the room. the box is dented, but shows no signs of breaking open anytime soon. The creature looks up and speaks in a sharply accented Taldane, "Gah! Leave me be I'm busy!" He hurls the box at the wall next to the door and picks it back up on the ricochet....

Dagnud:
The creature is an imp, a lesser devil and a common slave to wizards and summoners. While not powerful compared to their more famous family members, they can turn invisible at will, their tails contain a slowly paralytic poison, and like all devils, only Good or alchemically silver weapons damage them normally (though a solid hit from anything will do it.)

M Dwarf Inquisitor / 1 AC:18 Touch:12 FF:16 HP:12/12 Init:+4

Keep that dagger out, it'll work better than our other weapons on that imp. And someone stay by the door, he can go invisible and we don't want him running.

Oi! Little 'un! You best be leaving that box alone and buggerin' off. Beause we're leaving with it--after cuttin' ye down or no, as ye please.

Hack looks at the knife, and at his wicked axe, then at the knife again. He shakes his head. Dagnud, maybe you take the knife--or Chudd, you keep it in case the blighter tries to run. I be stickin' with me axe--I'll wager a chop or two'll still take the wind out o' the runt's wings!!

The dwarven warrior then takes a menacing step into the room, trusting someone else will cover the door.

ROUND 1

I know Dagnud goes first but I WANT THE FIRST BLOW DAGNUDIT!!! hehehe

Knowing the thing can turn invisible at will, Hack wants to get a good solid hit (or two!!) in right away.

Since the posted map doesn't include characters/positions, I have two options. Please pick the appropriate one.

IF HACK IS CLOSE ENOUGH FOR 5' STEP He'll take the 5' step, adn take two swings with his Dwarven Double Waraxe.

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Damage: 1d10 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

Attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Damage: 1d10 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11

IF HACK IS NOT CLOSE ENOUGH TO 5' STEP He'll charge and swing.

Dagnud rushes in and slashes the imp across the chest. The blade bites deep, but the infernal creature not only resists much of the cut, what flesh did cut is already mending itself! The imp was clearly not expecting to be attacked and looks left and right for an escape route!

Two things. One, it's hard to update the map at every point in a round, so I usually do it at the top of every round. Two, since exact squares matter, I recommend posting move like this, Dagnud raises his greatsword, charges the imp, and swings (I move West 3):"

My bad gents, I was trying to prevent its escape by closing the door. I didn't check if we were all on the right side of it first. Our next task is: Visit the offices of Osirian nobleman Dremdhet Salhar in the Wise Quarter. The Pathfinder Society needs to obtain permission to
delve the Salhar ancestral vaults beneath Sothis. He has made a verbal agreement, and your visit makes it official. You will receive an official charter and detailed maps. Do not embarrass the Society in this matter.

Fel bows graciously to the Lady, thanks her and makes to leave with a smile on his handsome face.

Lady, do you by chance know Lord Dremdhet Salhar? We are on our way to meet with him and any insight you might have into his character or motivations would be extremely welcome.

Fel gestures subtly at some of the more intimate fixtures in the room with a knowing grin, You look like a woman who might have some insight into the motivations of men... We seek permission for the pathfinder Society to delve the Salhar ancestral vaults.

Diplomacy: Gather Information1d20 + 13 ⇒ (16) + 13 = 29 - this may help us prepare for whatever might lie within the vaults. Maybe she tells us he has a skeleton infestation, so we go borrow bludgeoning weapons for example.

The Paracountess seems quite enamored with Fel. Most would find the gimlet-eyes disconcerting, but this is Chelish flirting at the noble level.

"I don't know the man personally, but by reputation only. You won't be delving any vaults today Pathfinder...well, not literally. If I had to guess, I'd be ready for a test of whits. The man likes games, and he likes to flaunt his intelligence. My guess is that the dwarves won't be needed for your next stop."

Sumac, you notice some shifty-types eyeing you while on the streets. You think you saw them before. You try to get a bead on them, but you lose them in the crowd.

You arrive at the Council member's gate. Before anyone can knock, the gate opens and you are greeted by an Osiriani dressed in a majordomo's livery. "Greetings Pathfinders. You are expected, yet unfortunately my master Salhar is not here. "

He continues his introductions and welcomes as he leads you through halls of opulence. "Master Salhar was called away on important Council business, but his most trusted advisor is available to negotiate any business you may require."

After a few minutes, you arrive at a simple study near the end of a long hallway. Inside sits a tan-skinned old man behind a desk flipping through pages in a large tome. Scraps of paper jut from the book marking over two dozen different places. As you approach the open door, the wise sage silently gestures you into the study with one thin hand, while closing the tome with the other after finishing what he was reading. Once inside, he addresses you,

"Good day to you, Pathfinders. I am Amenopheus, the Sapphire Sage, advisor to Master Salhar. I understand you were sent here to discuss archaeological permissions. Knowing this was coming, I spoke with Master Salhar at length on the subject and have this to say."
“Since Osirion was reopened to exploration a decade ago, adventurers, historians, and treasure-seekers flock to my country by the hundreds, perhaps thousands. While most families with ancestral burial vaults maintain guards and keep their sites out of the hands of casual thieves, not all families have the wealth or power to restrict everyone, and as we all know, not every defense is perfectly secure. Unscrupulous tomb robbers and maligned merchant organizations cause Osirion to bleed relics into the Inner Sea—something the descendents of Ancient Osirion cannot afford. We Osiriani have thousands of years of rich history coursing through our veins, and while that power has been out of focus in recent years, we are content to wait, knowing our enemies will wear themselves down. As they fall into arrogance, folly, or greed, we wait for our return to power, knowing we bear the riches of our ancestors at our feet.
“Master Salhar remains impressed by the Pathfinder Society, orating in their favor a handful of times in front of Absalom’s Grand Council, in fact. Due to previous relationships between him and the Society, Master Salhar has agreed to grant permission to the Pathfinder Society to explore his family’s vaults below Sothis. The only thing he requires is that you retrieve the map of the vaults from his own vault here. The servant will lead you to the basement and show you the room.”

The Sapphire Sage’s eyes twinkle as he smirks knowingly, then he turns back to reading his book as though he had never been disturbed.
