Welcome to my Play-by-Post!
Here's the ctrl+P for all my games:
1. I've been running games since the late 1980s, I've seen a lot of editions. I started playing PFS with Slot 1 Season 0 at Gen Con. I'm solid with the PFRPG rules, but everyone makes mistakes. I'll try to be as fair as possible.
2. I'm a Venture-Lieutenant for Southern NH. If you're ever in the area, or you need help finding games/conventions there. PM me.
3. I post with a high rate of frequency. That being said, if you guys can post 2-3 times per day, awesome. If it's only 1/day I understand. No worries. Real Life Comes First (tm).
4. Let's get started:
Player Name:
PC Name:
PFS#:
Faction:
Day Job: Feel free to roll now.
Perception and vision/senses:
Initiative:
Notes: Anything I should know; passive abilities, boons that are way out there, etc.

As you can see, I can do either tier, but the question that stops me is, which tier can anyone else NOT do?
Incidentally, does this adventure happen to favor any particular Factions? That's always a helpful guide in character choice.

Content in The Deepmarket Deception also contributes directly to the ongoing storyline of the retired Lantern Lodge faction.
Most everyone signed up with a character in mind, if we open it to everyone picking, I worry that it'll make it much harder to pick. The scenario is 3-7, so the 2s you listed are a no go. If you bring a 6 it's APL 4.8 and a level 7 is right smack in the middle at APL 5.

Side note on posting frequency:
During the week, 2-3 posts a day shouldn't be a problem. On weekends, I will endeavor to get 1 per day in, but it will likely tail off on Saturday and Sundays.
Is this an issue? If it is, I will politely abdicate my spot.

Not an issue at all. :-)

Hmm. In that case, I think I will cede my seat to someone on the wait list, since my ex-Lantern Lodge character (and my character who would have been Lantern Lodge if I'd been able to get the necessary Boon to make him in time for them to still be around) are both busy.
| Dungeon Master S |
No problem IHIYC. I hope to see you at a future game then! I'll PM the wait list.

Perception and vision/senses: Perception +11 (+14 vs traps), Darkvision 60 ft.

Still need to update his character sheet after the last session he was in (he had a bit of retraining). Will complete prior to starting date.

Looking forward to playing alongside a cleric of Brigh. I'm a GM for Iron Gods and have been really considering making either a tech based cleric or warpriest.
Valandil Anwamanë

It looks like I am the baby at the moment. It may be time to spend some cash on a ring of protection or something similar.
Hopefully we will have time after the briefing to pick up some extra spells if something looks to be of particular relevance to the scenario.
| DebugAMP |
Yeah, I know, but if other people are waffling between multiple characters it might. Being squarely in midtier should be find though.

I will endeavor to not disappoint.
No guarantees.

It's the 4 player adjustment, something to think about.

Well, to be fair, it is no longer a matter of 'deciding' (as it was in previous seasons) to play up - based on the current party composition (which, to be fair, we might be able to change, although I can't swap my PC), as per the current Guide, we are *required* to play-up, with the 4-player adjustment.
Chris Marsh

I think he might have been referring to the possibility of switching characters to change the APL, though I'm not sure.
We have a couple of days to decide.

What character options do you have? I'll be playing a melee character, so if you have any ranged character options hopefully that could work.
| DebugAMP |
As a note, my character options for 3-7 are Wayang Occultist 5 (archer), Tiefling Slayer 6 (melee), or Tengu Gunslinger 1 / Rogue 6 (...jack of all trades master of none?)

I could swap down to a level 3 brawler as well if we wanted to try and force the APL lower. Being a wizard makes me a little squishy, but hopefully not on the front line will help.
The brawler just did a 3-7 at high tier without any real problems, although that may be due to a kind GM and most of the creatures not living long enough to target him. I'd prefer to stick with the wizard if I can though.

Thread needs bumping?
I'm looking to start tomorrow if that works for you guys.
| Dungeon Master S |
I'm ready to get up and running. There's been some juggling, so I just want to confirm the party and subtier.
Diri: Evangelist 6
Valandil: Wizard 4
Sarsczek: Slayer 6
Nixkamich: A bunch of stuff, level 7
Zinou: Archer 3
Zinkyudo ?

All gnomes present and accounted for. Let's do this thing.
Is a greater talisman of freedom something you need to know about? Diri wears one of those.

I apologize in advance for a particular character quirk that is destined to lead to his demise. Currently, he has bitten several varieties of ooze, many types of undead, and several fiends, with little to no regard for his personal health. He is co-authoring a book entitled 'The Flavors of Golarion' and this is just field research.
| Dungeon Master S |
Ha, nope all set there. Looking forward to this game. "See" everyone tonight.
Sarsczek

Also, Sarsczek is obnoxiously friendly. If anyone ever tries to use Diplomacy, he will likely hop in and aid with his -3.
Zinkyudo

Sorry, I hadn't checked the discussion thread after dotting in, didn't realize so much was going on over here. As I imagine you've realized by now, Zinkyudo is level 3. It looks like we have one other level 3, which puts us at 6+4+6+7+3+3 = 29 / 6 = 4.83 = 5 = high tier with 4-player adjustment. I'm good with that if everyone else is.
Assuming we go that route, here's Zinkyudo's info:
Player Name: Khelreddin
PC Name: Zinkyudo
PFS#: 80015-5
Faction: Scarab Sages
Day Job: Craft (bows): 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
Perception and vision/senses: +10, darkvision
Initiative: +4
Notes: pretty straight up Zen Archer, can use see invisibility 1/day as racial SLA

If you see any posts from 'the man behind the curtain' that's me forgetting to change aliases from the PbP I'm gming. Also, if there are any particular tactics you'd like Sarsczek to use, tell him. He's a nice raptor.
Zinkyudo
|
By the way, Nixkamich, that's a crazy-ass build you've got there, I"m curious to see how it works. One thing I might mention - in your intro, you describe him as having a bow across his back, but there's no bow on his character sheet...
I wouldn't normally dig into such detail on other PC's, but I was curious just how many archers we'd have on this mission.

If you see any posts from 'the man behind the curtain' that's me forgetting to change aliases from the PbP I'm gming.
There's a pretty easy solution to that, if you use Chrome. Try out Paizo Campaign Tools, developed by the Paizo boards' very own Oladon. Good stuff, and it keeps getting better. Has a default alias selector for each campaign, so you never have to post as the wrong alias (except when you hit "Reply').
I'm pretty sure it's also available for Firefox.

..this is awesome. Thank you!

My goodness! I thought Nix was a bit of a joke Alias.
Of course I also learned something, I thought you couldn't multi-class the hybrid classes with parent ones. Maybe that was something from the playtest.
Is he an attempt to get the maximum possible number of archetypes into a single character?
Nixkamich Otaktay
|
Good Heavens, no - he is a decently optimised character :-)
The 'no-multiclass with parents' was a thing from the playtest, which was later dropped.
Nixkamich began life as a thought experiment, to prove that you *don't* need to 'single-class' to be effective.
(I have a build worked out for him that will involve taking 12 different classes, over 12 levels.)
Tametomo Buruzuai

Thank you for that tool, Zinkyudo! I didn't have enough time to try it fully, but I didn't figure out how to make that default alias selector work, though.
Chris Marsh

Good call on the campaign tools. I've been using it for a while, it is a huge help, especially when you have a lot of aliases in active use.
