We press on into the tadpole chamber. Is there anything else of note?

MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

With nothing else of note the party pushes south.

The east corner of this chamber is fitted with a wooden platform that seems to float on the water’s surface. A few barrels sit on the platform....

Odric checks out the raft by climbing up onto it from the water.

Despite the magical protections weaved around him by the spells Morkeleb and Grym cast, he has a momentary disorientation when the water floods out of his lungs and air replaces it as he breaks the surface. It is decidedly uncomfortable, but blessedly painless.

MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

Indeed, the look on Odric's face when he exhales that first breath of water would have made his entire pub laugh raucously.

The barrels seem to only contain fresh water.

Ferox joins Odric not quite trusting the Stouts "perceptiveness"

    Perception 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (10) + 26 = 36

When Ferox gives the official "its clear". Grym leads the party on.

The party moves into the west corridor. Grym places Bucho back on "Mork duty" while he heads into the chamber first, using his darkvision to quickly check for threats.

Odric takes the lead, easily cutting through the gloom with his Undine swimming and the magical spells Grym supplied.

Odric's blue skin gently eases into a subdued bluish grey that matches the stonework as he re-enters the water. His dark blue hair is slicked back and tied into tight knots, but his mullet remains intact (and glorious) despite his altered self. Limpid blue eyes, carefully attuned to the dark depths peer down the hall intently. Fin-like ears listen to the currents and distant slashing of water against stone, somewhere above. His and webbed fingers and toes help propel the warrior through the water with absolute ease.

MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

Confident that the room is clear the party moves west.

A crystal tube emerges from a dark hole in the floor up to the ceiling, where it splits into dozens of small tubes that wind along the walls and ceiling above until finally sinking into the stone, presumably burrowing upward to a level above.

The water is only 15' deep here, with nearly 35' of air above.

The party enters the room and spreads out for a cursory exploration. (Bucho sticks to Mork for meatshielding).
If the party finds nothing else or nobody wants to try anything... anybody?

Grym flanked by Mer-Odric press on into the West.

    Perception 1d20 + 26 ⇒ (1) + 26 = 27

Odric tries to perceive as well 1d20 ⇒ 16

Grym and Odric lead the way.

Freedom of Movement is expended at this point.

The northwestern portion of the sloping flagstone floor of this chamber has been fitted with a crude horizontal wooden platform. On the platform are nine filthy straw mats, leather bags, and fishing rods.

Finally, you're above the water level.

MAP TEMPLATES | Social Combat | War for the Crown | Campaign Tracker |

As you're about to look about the room, Gaius speaks up, "What a fine looking bunch of losers! Indeed, let's have a little fun."

The party turns, and sees Gaius in the north hallway.

    Gaius.

    With normal hands.

Everyone quickly turns back and looks at your Gaius.

"What do you say ladies, should we show them a good time? I think so..."

In the blink of an eye a quartet of winged, armed, and armored women appear!

Reminder for all combat in the Sunken Queen:

Anyone who is standing on the floor is flat-footed at all times barring a special ability.

Moving at all requires a DC 15 Acrobatics check. Failure means you’re stuck just maintaining your balance.

Failing your check by 5 or more means you slip, fall, and slide to the nearest wall, taking 1d6 damage and potentially drawing Attacks of Opportunity.

Ferox aims at Gaius! The image is shocking, even though everyone knows the truth of it. A single arrow lands, hitting the man in the chest. The wound is severe, and it would have killed a normal man. Gaius, however, simply gives a hedonistic smile, "Oh, we're playing that game dear Ferox?"

In my last post, Grym ordered Bucho to guard Mork. I placed the dog next to the wizard for the start of this

    Round 1

Though it is always such an interesting experience to breath water and see the shadowy depths as a marine creature, Grym is happy to be back on dry land. Even if its a difficult slope to deal with. Balancing awkwardly the ranger studies the room and though calm on the outside he nearly jumps as he sees one of the "Not-Gaius's". But after a moment, he seems resigned to fate. We knew these were out there somewhere and we would have to deal with them later.
At the sight of the winged warriors, the ranger has to admit he finds them quite exotically attractive. Yet, none-the-less he will cut them down. Grym casts FeatherStep on himself.

Bucho, staying close to the wizard gives a growl as the strange winged warrior appears in the doorway behind his ward. The dog bumps past Morkeleb nails scraping wildly on the floor as the big dogs manages to keep his balance. He bring his jaws to bear on the creature that is not part of his pack.

Criktik can't seem to connect as his javelins are blocked and dodged. Indeed, his master also has trouble, scoring but a single hit.

The Furies, all injured, attack with suicidal ferocity. Staggered and nearly dead, to the north one stabs a single time at Odric: ATK: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (5) + 22 = 27 miss.

    Ranged Touch: 1d20 + 22 ⇒ (2) + 22 = 24 and ensnares him. REF DC 20 or be entangled!

Finally Evil Gaius reaches out with a look of disgust. "I so much more preferred a bad touch." (Assuming Odric doesn't resist.)

    "NO! You weak FOOL!" The Fury next to him watches as a her enemy is cured for CCW: 4d8 + 10 ⇒ (7, 5, 3, 5) + 10 = 30

    Round the Second

Odric continues his assault on the devil woman, his arm levers up and down with a methodical rhythm that is relentless and completely devoid of Ruths. While he trusts Morkeleb implicitly, Odric is unnerved by the evil Gaius clone glaring at him from a scant handsbreadth away. It takes discipline and focus to allow such a dangerous creature freedom so close, but the strange tint of greenish mist lurking behind the rogue rogue's eyes tell Odric that not-Gaius is not at all free.
