I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

None.

Female Changeling (Annis Hag) Oracle of Life 6; 32/32 hp

Larissa looks at the window, finally rejoining the present after her Wolverine-esque moment of rage, and asks, "Sir, what is the best route for one to get outside that window? The nearest door, that is?"

She seeks footprints and such in the flower beds outside (hoping there are flower beds present).

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

He has a page show you.....it's a bit of a tidy step.

Male Elf Magus 6; hp 51/51; Init +7; Per +8; AC 20, touch 16, FF 15; CMB +5; CMD 20; Fort +7, Ref +8, Will +6; Arcane Pool 4/6

N'kai will check the bloodless skin: looks like it could belong to a flesh golem? Or some other creature?

Whichever applies:
Kn(arcana): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (10) + 9 = 19
Kn(dungeons): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

It's definitely a flesh golem's hide.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Just to avoid red herrings,....no there weren't adamantium nails to flense the thing's skin. It tore the flesh, but probably didn't do a hp's worth of damage to the tuff bastard.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

As Larissa gets outside the window, it starts drizzling. There's pour off from the roof as well. The page starts shivering under his umbrella.....he offers it over her, but looks hesitant. He's seen her tantrums.

Female Changeling (Annis Hag) Oracle of Life 6; 32/32 hp

"Thank you, no. We must learn what we can before it washes away."

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

He stares at Larissa; looks at her hands.

Female Changeling (Annis Hag) Oracle of Life 6; 32/32 hp

"The ground. Look at the ground. You have nothing to fear from my hands - unless you don't look at the ground!"

Perception: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

It's been too rainy of late, to see any tracks outside this window.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Damn Ustalav, and its incessant moody drizzle!

Male Elf Magus 6; hp 51/51; Init +7; Per +8; AC 20, touch 16, FF 15; CMB +5; CMD 20; Fort +7, Ref +8, Will +6; Arcane Pool 4/6

Seeing rain starts to pour outside the window, N'Kai also sprints outside with Larissa to search for clues before they disappear

Per 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13

He probably sees nothing, sigh...

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

The ground's too wet, it's been raining too long.

1d20 ⇒ 9

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Somebody dropped something though.

It looks like a folding pocket knife.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

MMMMMM TIME TO EAT

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Huzzzzzah!

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Hizzzurp!

Male Elf Magus 6; hp 51/51; Init +7; Per +8; AC 20, touch 16, FF 15; CMB +5; CMD 20; Fort +7, Ref +8, Will +6; Arcane Pool 4/6

N´kai searchs for markings or inscriptions on the knife

Per: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

There are none.

Female Changeling (Annis Hag) Oracle of Life 6; 32/32 hp

Larissa nods, "Good eyes, I missed that. Can you tell would it have been used by a burglar, possibly?"

Edwin stands back, observing the entire scene. Looking nonplussed at the investigations of the 'amateurs'.

Per: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (5) + 10 = 15

But he is obviously SO distracted by their bumbling attempts, that he is completely thrown off of his own game.

Yeah, that's his story. :/

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

It has a knife, a fish scaler, and a hook puller.

It would've been used by a fisherman.

"A fisherman's tool? What would an intelligent golem be doing with a fisherman's tool?" Edwin muses aloud.

He looks at the others.
"I wonder if one of our helpful, friendly swamp guides is missing a tool?"

Male Elf Magus 6; hp 51/51; Init +7; Per +8; AC 20, touch 16, FF 15; CMB +5; CMD 20; Fort +7, Ref +8, Will +6; Arcane Pool 4/6

"Excellent idea, mr. Drood. I doubt this belongs to any employee of the university, although we can ask professor Crowl about it.

May I also suggest we investigate the local docks?? That is, if all of you are willing to take me along... Maybe the owner of the knife is closer to home that one would think. Hopefully he or she can shed some light on the otherwise puzzling events that took place here."

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Upon being shown the knife, Crowl just scratches his head, but doesn't know anything about it.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Huzzzzah!!!!!

Edwin rubs his still-aching head. He KNOWS that the clues are right there in front of him. But the leftover ache from the mental (attack? Spell? Glyph? He's not even sure) prevents him from focusing properly.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

mwahahahaha

(Sigh) I hate being an RL average intelligence person trying to play a Sherlock-level intellect! ;P

Ok, SLightly ABOVE Rl average intelligence. But still,...

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

right on.

It looks like the thing went in there under control. How else could it open a window to hand the effigy to someone outside? Someone who dropped a fisherman's pocketknife perhaps? Then,....the beast went berserk.....

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Huzzzah!

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Huzzzzah!!!!!,

Female Changeling (Annis Hag) Oracle of Life 6; 32/32 hp

"The beast calmly enters, hands this evil thing to someone outside the window, and goes crazy. Why did he go crazy? OR maybe, why was he able to calmly enter?"

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

mwahaha!

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

back in an hour

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

huzzzah!

"It may posses intelligence, but it is still a golem. Perhaps it can be controlled as any other creature could? That would explain it's entering under control, and THEN 'going beserk' as you so quaintly put it."

"Or perhaps the loss of control was unplanned. It is my understanding that controlling such things is far from assured. It may even be possible that the capture of the creature was unplanned. While I surmised that the captured creature makes for an excellent scapegoat, as a free-ranging threat, to be destroyed on sight for it's supposed crimes, It would have been far more difficult to examine the evidence and make the discoveries that we have." Edwin points out as a lecturer to a class.

M Human Cleric / 6

"Aren't there magics that can locate, or at least look in on, the knife's owner?" Rholf asks the group at large...

Human Wizard 6

Alinya looks up at Rholf's question. "There are indeed, friend Rholf. The school of divination are rife with them. Unfortunately the only such spell that I know requires a drop of lost blood rather than discarded cutlery. I am hopeful that our investigators will lead us in the right direction despite my arcane failures."

Was there a particular spell you were thinking of? We could try for a scroll if it's over level 3?

M Human Cleric / 6

Rholf looks hopeful, then slightly crestfallen as Alinya speaks... Then, he brightens once again. "Is the necessary spell one that we could purchase here in the city, either as a scroll or as a service? Not that I doubt the skill of our investigative prowess, of course. Just seeking the path of least resistance."

HP 53/53 Dromite Soulknife 5 / Pyrokineticist 1 map

i would try to follow a scent but it has been raining so it likely would be of no use

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

It was too long ago anyway.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Huzzzzah!!!

Weird; I don't see any spells like that up to legend lore.

Riddles inside of enigmas, tied up in a tidy little bow of catgut.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

It's Christmas time, in a timeless place called....the Twilight Zone.

I AM THE LORD OF ALL HELLFIRE!!!!!

Huzzzah!!!!!

Edwin paces back and forth, rubbing his chin so hard it looks as though he might wear it out. He muses over the clues, trying to find a new way to fit the pieces together,...

I think the GM's given us a hint or three, :) Now to see if Ed can put a couple together. (Since his player is obviously drawing blanks over here!) ;P

using K:local to try and figure out the most likely way to find the knife's missing owner;
1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

Or, you know,... maybe not? ;P

It's not a very unique thing, and there's no "maker's mark" on it.

Your roll succeeds, and you realize that it will be next to impossible to figure that out.
