I thought the plan was for them to wait in the underground access tunnel until we get them. I don't think we could pull off bringing them all along. Edmin's stealth is terrible even with invisibility due to his armor and then we have the Ogre to think about as well.

This statuette... is lovely. Funny how you never noticed that before.
Yes, it's much better with you than with the Judge. He didn't appreciate it. That meddling nuisance Zimu may ask for it; she doesn't deserve it, either. It should stay with someone who appreciates fine things.
Jax, going forward your attitude towards the statuette is basically Gollum and The Precious. You don't want anyone else to handle it, never mind to take it away. You'll defend it if anyone tries to take it away from you.

Whee - my rolls SUCK!!!!! Dicebot hates me. Dicebot hates me. Dicebot hates me.
I have no problem with Cy's plan. It is unlikely the sole remaining captain will be sent out. But if the Commander trusts the former father. sending out a few troops is not impossible. I cannot see it doing any great harm if the letter is in a clean script.
The only problem with the whole retinue going to the meal is that it will require a lot of deception. Remember, I smell like an old, almost dead, person. You will have to cover that with a ton of perfume. Also, you will be disguising me as a woman, there is a -2 for different sex, -2 for different race, assuredly at least a -5 for the smell. In addition, the disguise spell only lasts 10 minutes/level. So, unless we all have Xen's hat, we will have to burn a lot of spells to get more than 50 minutes.
Cуровую зиму
Nothing personal Edmin but I believe Dren would make a better confessor. I have access to Divine spells, a much better disguise, and don't need weapons or armor so I will look very un-assuming.
I was thinking that as well, but the axe of Branderscar does get around and has yet to meet a foe it did not outlive.
Cуровую зиму
I will say one last thing then let it go.
You are thinking as Dren of the Dark Tapestry, who seeks to bring oblivion to the world. This are two old friends, lawful and good, they also share history of loyalty and being comrades in arms. Before we came along they shared a bond. The sooner the commander sends a squad out the sooner he will get his cleric and friend back at his side.
In the clerics eyes, who left before the current events, there is NO heightened security.
The commander UNDERSTANDS why the priest sought his old friend Edmin out.

Xen allows himself to look like he has had a long night of partying...which he probably has since he is on his own in his room
He waves to mama kolo as he walks in, he sees she is busy. He mutters something about coming to talk later...nothing really committal. More along the lines of how are you, but she is obviously busy.

I think you would be the only one in disguise and could use the hat. The rest of us would go as our alter ego's.

Go in pretty late as well...that way she doesn't taste the stew and get sick before she delivers it.
Xenfal
yea I follow all advice, another super busy morning for me, just wanted to get something up
Xenfal
Okay, Xen's SoH is successful.
First, though, there may be an inter-party issue to be resolved.
Phew. I assume that in this instance it has nothing to do with me. Assume Xen is in his room nursing whatever wine he has, not getting drunk but being bored. That way you dont have to ait for me
Judge Tohram Quasangi
After realizing that something is missing and thoroughly searching his room to try to find it. The Judge casts Detect Magic and attempts to find the powerful aura he knows so well.
Detect Magic should be able to penetrate most walls unless they are all stone. I assume that he has had the precious long enough to know its aura quite well, I also assume that the aura is rather unique, and dark.
Dren of the Dark Tapestry
Okay, I understand why you are sending the letter lets hope it does draw off a few guards.
Inter party issue? Dren waits to see if someone needs to be taken care off...
Judge Tohram Quasangi
The Judge, apparently deciding that subtlety is not particularly important this morning, walks over to Jax as he is eating his breakfast, reaches into Jax's pocket and takes the statuette.
This is mine, if you had wanted to use or study it, you should have asked.
Dren of the Dark Tapestry
Dren looks up at Jax and the Judge with a curious expression at their sudden and odd interaction, What is he talking about Jax, did you take one of the Judges things?
sense motive 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17
Do we recognize what the judge has in his hands?
Dren of the Dark Tapestry
Looking at the odd statuette, What do you mean...mine? Isn't this a group item you are just holding onto until we find a use for it or did you claim it for yourself?
Cуровую зиму
I don't think Jax would be in the same room. We have a few things to take care of this morning.
-
IF The Judge manages to find us Cуровую casts Message so that no one outside the group can eves drop, and pointedly suggests we take this to a private area at once, we may be being watched (Nimby).
-
After moving to a secure area.
'I have had ... visions. The object you desire is not safe, especially in your hands! Why do you crave it so Tohram?'
Trivia bit - Cуровую has never called the Judge by his first name until this moment.
Interestingly enough, Cуровую's hands seem ready to cast a spell.
Cуровую зиму
'Perhaps I should cast a Protection spell over you to break the enchantment.'
'It may prove useful if you are to continue to capably lead us.'
'Let us be quick about this so that we can begin the cardinals' task that we have at hand.'
Cуровую зиму
Dren looks at Cimu, What do you mean you had a vision about that thing? So it is dangerous, do you believe it is exercising some measure of influence on them?
-
If Dren's hearing voices, Jax is hearing voices, the Judge's hearing voices, Xen has a hat that screams look at me and Edmin is in a relationship with his axe, Cуровую can have a dream now and then ok?:)
Did you forget when you all decided to go 'Obama' care on Cуровую?
Judge Tohram Quasangi
[ooc]I am leaving this to DMDM. Where ever Jax was is where Tohram would have approached Jax. This is first thing in the morning, I do not know whether Jax was still in his room or in the common room. DMDM seems to have decided that a group of players were already together. It would be strange since Cy is in the upper class inn, Jax was in the middle class inn and Dren was in the lower class inn.
Dren of the Dark Tapestry
I had assumed since this is the most important day of our lives we would have met up first thing in the morning to plan out the day and figure out next steps. Whether it is a private room or hidden under the Inn in the secret passage we should hold a final meeting to make sure we are all on the same page and have our various duties for the day.
Many of us seem to be doing nothing while others have plans not approved by the group, or at least the judge.
Can we assume we are meeting in the private room of the secret passage that morning to discuss our plan?
Dren of the Dark Tapestry
Especially since we have stinky 1 and 2 with us. The Ogre is there as well, I brought him with us.
BTW how is the Inn running without the landlord? Is his wife running things? Are things a bit of a mess there?
Jax Naismith
Cimu is correct, Judge. It's mine now, its not safe for you to have. Give it back. Jax will get up and try to grab it back.
Dren of the Dark Tapestry
@ Cimu, We must resolve this situation before it get's out of hand. Protection from Good will probably not work in this situation...I guess one of us should have the evil version.
I can try to restrain them both but it will use up some of my resources.
If open conflict occurs, Dren will be prepping for it and rolling for Init with them.
initiative 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9 Bah...
Xenfal
so we are in the tunnels? OK I guess I am there
1d20 + 12 - 6 ⇒ (18) + 12 - 6 = 24 Intimidate. I know you cant intimidate party members but perhaps it will serve as some color to his speech...I cant remember if the curse affects my intimidate as well, so I have included the minus
What the hell is the matter with both of you?! We have a job to do. Do you think the Cardinal wants to know about you stealing from our own. He says to Jax And you! You are supposed to be the leader. Act like it. You have been hiding in doors sending us out to do your bidding and now we learn that you are possibly under the influence of some magical item that was in the posession of that nutjob Odenkirk. Now both of you back down and we will settle this over the flames of this city. Now back off!

1 person marked this as a favorite.
I am confused, what CMB is he using? Grapple? Sunder? Steal will not work since I am holding the statuette.
I'd say to grab the statuette. Actually getting it out of your hands will require an opposed Str check. So at the moment, the two of you are struggling over it like a couple of kids in a schoolyard fighting over a Pokemon deck or something.
Xenfal
they dont play pokemon at school anymore. I see more kids playing Yu-gi-o but the image is still awesome.
Edmin Al'Roth
Edmin stands to his feet and moves between the two men. "Stand down! I said stand down! Judge you stand releaved. Now put down the statue in the name of Asmodeus!
Intimidante please
Dren of the Dark Tapestry
Dren looks at Cimu and rolls his eyes.
Edmin, you do realize that they are probably under a magical compulsion of some kind and can't help themselves? I think you should restrain the judge while grumblejack restrains Jax.
Grumbles, please restrain Jax, they can't help themselves until we can figure out how to undo this...whatever it is that has them under it's spell.
Judge Tohram Quasangi
The Judge looks at his companions, rage in his eyes.
There is nothing wrong with me. The party entrusted me with that statuette. We all know that Jax is nothing more than a charlatan and a common thief. Now he has stolen from a fellow member of the party. This is a violation of the oath we all took in the Dark Lord's name. I demand that he be found guilty and punished accordingly.
