Hey all, my campaign, just underway, has lost one of its players. The party currently consists of a halfling psychic, dwarf paladin, and half-orc warpriest. The town is currently under invasion of a hobgoblin force and we are very early into it. Looking for one player and here are the character creation rules:
Level: 1st
Races: Core only
Classes: Paizo only
Ability Scores: 25 point buy (no ability score less than 8 after modifiers), I don't like dump stats.
Skills: Background skills in effect
Hit Points: Full at first level; half +1 at subsequent levels
Alignment: Any non-evil
Traits: 1 campaign, 1 non-campaign.
Gold: Average
No slumber hex and no Daze metamagic feat.
I am looking for a character concept/build and your background link to Phaendar - would prefer if you were a local. Any questions, please let me know.

As far as a backstory, I picked the Foxclaw Scout trait. Which leads itself well for my Character Kiziah being out and about the area. Surveying the land and protecting the wilds. I could have been born in Phaendar, who's parents traveled into the wilds to hunt or camp. That is where I learned some of the animal traits I am able to harness. I joined the scouts at a young age and spent most of my twenties helping out the scouts.
I met my Hawk (Sprin) while I was out tracking, and we have been together since. Often letting him fly above while I hunted below.
A follower of Erastil, not quite a wild child, having grown up in the city. I still enjoy spending a lot of my time out in the wilds. Though I still have to deal with people often, which means I am not dumping Charisma. Still need to talk to people.
As for being a player, I post pretty often. I am DMing a few games here, and try to shoot for at least a post a day. I have been hoping to get in one more game as a player.
I will make an alias if I am picked. This AP sounds interesting. I have the books, but have not read any of it (I read part of the Players guide for making the character)
Good luck to everyone!

Hmmm....I know that you request local and I'd be happy to adjust the story to make him from the town itself if that is the desire but I did make this character and I like the concept of him and would enjoy attempting to bring him to life in an Ironfang campaign.
Michael had grown up a pretty typical life for a Varisian caravan child. He grew up seeing the world and never having a home that stayed still for very long. While it's true that he had family and friends to rely on and that he had places they would visit yearly, still to have a true home was something the man could not describe. Growing up, he showed no real aptitude for the bow, nor the bladed scarf that some Varisians used as their hidden line of defense. But, from an early age he learned how to use a shield to protect others. He couldn't fight normally, but he knew how to work a shield to protect those who could.
His talent in a fight didn't occur naturally for most, though perhaps it was so for a Varisian. He learned to fight with both his fists and the very shield he had used to protect others over time getting drunk in the taverns while getting in fights with the locals. It wasn't out of malice that the fights had started but eventually they turned ugly and this was where the boy became a man and a fighter. The bluster, the slight arrogance, the teasing desire to get under someone's skin from time to time once he'd had a drink or three where his demons, something that as he grew older he did his best to fight but occasionally lost to.
It was some time in his early twenties that he got a few too many drinks under the table. He awoke late in the day in the back of a wagon he personally didn't know. The knot on his head told him plenty though of how the night had gone. Once he'd got his bearings enough to stit up, the old dwarf driving the cart began speaking to him. It seemed in his arrogance and drink, he had made a wager. One that the dwarf knew he couldn't hold up, so the follower of Dranngvit made it a point to take care of the wager for him and in return, he'd pay the debt to the Dwarf through hard work and toil. Perhaps it was purely through kindness that the dwarf had chosen to do what he did, but all the same he had gained himself an apprentice.
Michael spent the next eight years working and sweating in the forge, his best friend a hammer, his armor the apron. He had only really need to work for a few years to pay back the dwarf but it was almost as if the man had found his calling at the anvil. So he toiled, he worked, and he learned under the elder who lived in Janderhoff. He wasn't sure if the old man had any family, it was hard to get him to talk on the subject but eventually near the end of his apprenticeship he finally broke down the old smith with a few high quality bottles of dark rum.
The old smith's story was one that he eventually found to be somewhat commonplace, though each time he heard the story it caused his heart to flame up once more. The smith had indeed had a family, his wife had passed thankfully a few decades ago so she didn't have to live to see her family destroyed by war. One of the many regiments of the Ironfang Legion had blown through his family's village, massacring the entire town. It wasn't until a few weeks later that the Smith had found out about the loss of his family when he traveled to meet his son and pick up the resources to take to market.
It was this first story that drove him to completing his training and leaving the old man behind. He accepted the gifts of the tools that the Smith himself had used for a century as his graduation present into being a full fledged blacksmith himself, and it was with these tools that he stood before the forge for three days and nights toiling to forge from his own blood, sweat, and tears the gear he'd need to survive. A shield, laden with jagged spikes and thin ringed chainmail that let him move freely when he needed while fighting and defending himself or those he remotely cared about. He passed out soon after completing his work, and awoke over a day later to gather up his supplies and prepare for the annual trip to Nirmathas to sell the goods that his master had prepared.

            Here's Azmythe, elf Witch (hedge).
He's not from Phaendar, but has been living there for several years working as a healer.
As he tells it, Azmythe was born in the Age of Dreams. He was a luminous being that feasted on celestial nectar every day. They would dance and sing and frolic in the heavens. The Age of Dreams was paradise without end. Except that it ended.
As he tells it, Azmythe was born in the Age of Fire and Thunder. It was a horrible time. There was clashing thunder and screams of pain. Teeth gnashed and flesh was torn. It rained blood. It was a time without hope. Except that Azmythe had hope.
As he tells it, Azmythe was born in the Age of Redemption. He is a being of flesh and spirit. He has felt pain and knows of love. He walks the land looking to redeem himself for his arrogance in the Age of Dreams. He seeks redemption for his sins in the Age of Fire and Thunder.
This is how he remembers it. He doesn't know who is was or where he came from. Basically, he had a happy life until his home was raided. He was led to safety by Enoch, his raven familiar. After a time of healing and learning, Azmythe started wandering the land until he eventually made his way to Phaendar, where his curative skill and abilities have made him him a welcome addition to the town.

So I love the idea of this AP, though I know very little about it. I love to play survivalist type characters. Then I went a completely different direction because I thought an arcan caster might fit nicely in this party. I'm wondering if I could use the age rule to make my character Old or middle age. It would fit thematically with the character, I'm not just doing it to be power gamey.

            Very interested in this AP!
I'll be submitting an elven unchained rogue, named Jÿstra Eldithas. Her father was a long time resident of Phaendar, having retired there following an illustrious career in a traveling carnival as an animal trainer. Jÿstra never knew her mother and her father never spoke of her. She had once asked the venerable elf about it, but her father just smiled and a tear ran down his cheek. She never asked again. He passed away nearly 20 years ago, but the few friendships that Jÿstra made in the small town kept her there.
Jÿstra lived off the earth for many years after her father's passing. She became reclusive and avoided going into town very often. She spent most of her days moving about the forests that surround the town. She is much more comfortable with the birds and animals, than she is with social interaction. She came upon a hatchling snark one day and it has been her constant companion since then.
Over the years she developed a deep father/daughter relationship with Arikalis, an elderly wizard who lived deep in the forest. The pair were gathering their wears for the Market Festival when the attack occurred. Jÿstra survived the initial onslaught, but Arikalis died in her arms. With his last breath he handed her a tarnished old ring and asked her forgiveness. Jÿstra weeped and asked the old man to what he was referring. He had never harmed her and had nothing to be forgiven. But the words remained on his lips as his spirit crossed over to the next life. She still holds his bloodstained spellbook and component pouch in her backpack.
Having lost two "fathers", Jÿstra is emotionally scarred and has a fragile ego. She may be weepy one moment and hostile the next. She is good hearted and kind, but quite awkward. She trusts slowly and cries most nights before she sleeps.
I would intend to take wizard for levels 2-4 and enter the Arcane Trickster prestige class at level 5. She has a familiar from her carnavalist rogue archtype and will take the ring as an arcane bond in wizard.

Okay all, I appreciate the interest and am enjoying your concepts. Some answers to your questions:
1. I think I will keep recruitment open for a week until next Tuesday at 8:00 pm EST.
2. Saasha, the player we lost was a druid, so that fits.
3. Uthraed, it's 25 point buy already so I am not a fan of age categories to get statistical bonuses. You can be older/younger for rp purposes but no bonuses.
4. Ensign, PbP yes and see #3 to answers to your age questions.

You don't get +2 to all mental either.

* Still, what about Young Characters? PFS give them the possibility of being one size smaller, with all the pros on cons.
* If someone wanted it, would you allow the Mute (Oracle) curse?

This is Lazyclownfish's submission. A forester and ex-scout for the Molthuni army, Titus has a unique stake in the war to come. As an investigator with the Cryptid Scholar and Natural Philosopher archetypes, his focus in combat will be using his whip to Aid Another AC (for a +4). Paired with the Opportune Advice ability from Cryptid Scholar, he should make a strong impact on the defenses of the party. At level 3(the earliest possible), when he can take Infusion, he'll be able to hand out healing and buff extracts. I don't plan to have him use his extracts for himself very often after that point.
In summary, he'll be a group support that can handle scouting/tracking as well as creature identification as needed.

I think I got all the important things. I added some flavor at the bottom.
I am also including all of the stats for Sprin, the Hawk. This includes its known tricks.
Please let me know if I need to do any modifications. Thanks again for the chance to play! I am very curious about this character.
Sorry about all the salt that seems to be in this thread. We are here to have a good time, and to follow the rules. So I don't quite understand the frustration as to having to follow them. Oh well.

If you're still looking for submissions, I could submit Sir Bleeparolo The Deft. Sir Bleeparolo is a gnome nature oracle and the main concept behind him is that he rides a wolf mount into combat and uses the mounted charge whenever he can. So he is a healer and a melee fighter.
He was originally built for a game of Crypt of the Everflame that died out. So he was originally written as being from Kassen, which is in Northern Nirmathas.
His father raised him on stories about the great Knights of the Black Bough, an ancient order of gnomish knights that rode wolves into battle. He now has set out to restore the order of knights. The only problem is that his father might have made the whole thing up.
I'll have to update him according to your crunch, but he is mostly ready.
Mind you, it looks like you may have enough divine casters already.
