One of my uncles has died. I'll be travelling and visiting with family, probably until Monday.

Ludomancer:
Evocation -- probably not a means of transport. It can wait. Let me tell you what Iolar is going to do over the next few rounds so I don't hold up the game. Next round she will use a minute of Totem Tramsformation to drop down to the door and follow Vendric inside. Then she'll try to catch up to him. H\Should any enemies remain alive in his wake, her weapon of choice will be her 3 remaining lightning bolts.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

My condolences to you and your family, Thom.

Sorry for your loss Thom. Be well.

I'm sorry for your loss. I'll take care of things here.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Back. Not at all sure where we are in initiative. Just tip me a nod when it's Iolar's turn.

Can we do away with spoilers now that we're all on the ground floor?

That was Tyrrol in the previous game too. Efficiently murderous.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Too true. Too true. :)

Male Half-Elf Alchemist/8 AC:17 Touch:12 FF:15 HP:52/52

Am I still nauseated and if so for how long?

You are still nauseated for at least a round.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

So, I like the fact that you guys moved on without Iolar. She certainly deserved it after ordering you guys to wait. I can't wait to find out what the magic on the roof is though. Hopefully something useful.

If you don't mind I'm going to read the spoilers for entertainment value.

I'll be away next week, only posting from my phone. Feel free to bot me as needed.

Wait a minute, you mean we're not suppose to? Uh-oh. Ah well, I guess it's too late to change my ways now. ;)

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

C'mon guys. You've got to get through a few rounds before Iolar can rejoin.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Ludomancer, how's Iolar doing on the roof?

I figure her timeline at 1 round to the roof, 3 to fully ID that magic, 1 or 2 to return.

v. the main party 2 or 3 rounds to move and open the door. First round of combat in the library.

So she'll return in round 3 or 4 ? If it goes that long.

It would've been 6 to identify the two magic items, so at least that long.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Right. GOtcha.

Javell:
Did you see my PM? Goes for both KM and JR games.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Nice riposte AND THEN some! Boyfriend - ball boy. That was funny.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

lol! It was just too good to pass up. :)

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Hey is anybody tracking loot?

I can if you guys want.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

I haven't been. And I got no problem with you tracking it if you want.

I'm ok if you'd like to keep track.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Loot List:

Cash from sale of 2nd Darkness Notes

**** Roof fight
2 +1 rapier, (with party)
2 mithral shirts, (with party)
2 masterwork bucklers, (with party)

4 masterwork hand crossbows, and 56 bolts. (left on roof)
2 masterwork studded leathers, (left on roof)
2 short swords. (left on roof)

**** Library fight

3 scrolls of cure moderate wounds
a scroll of web
2 potions of cure light wounds (Vendric)
a CL3 wand of magic missile with 10 charges
1 whip with fain evocation aura

thin, locked book, bound in iron and silver; (moderate conjuration)
a scroll of clairvoyance

3 masterwork hand crossbows, a masterwork whip, a masterwork flail, 2 suits of masterwork studded leather armor, a suit of full plate armor, a heavy metal shield, 2 short swords, 7 iron bolts with resin-coated tips, 10 metal bolts with a glass section in the middle filled with what looks like acid, 2 smokesticks, and a silver holy symbol (make a knowledge (religion) check to identify).

**** In the room where you fought the demons, you find seven of the orbs stationed on top of the short pillars, still intact, each of them showing vague shifting images of an ancient elven city. One of them, when you pick it up, displays an image of a scholarly-looking elf, who then speaks to you. "I am Eloquan, ..."

Vendric you had asked about poison. I suspect that the resin coated bolts are poisoned.

As I said in the game thread, just speak up if you want anything. Iolar will be loath to give up the magic to Karishiel's men, and she has no desire for the mundane equipment. She's willing to give some up to Evianna, maybe Ludomancer would let us use an exchange of "gifts" to barter for items better suited to the party.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Just so I'm clear, Lothan took only a +1 rapier.

There is nothing else that he wants. So the rest of it can go to the rest of y'all. Otherwise I say, sell it! :)

That was 2000g. Lothan has it all. Divided by 6 is 333.33g. Let me know when you all jot your share down.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Iolar didn't want a share of that. As far as she's concerned that's Tyrrol's and Lothan's money you can split that 5 ways -- 400 gp each.

Same here. Zoltan would not want to receive a share.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Shows you how much I've been paying attention - there are ONLY 5 of us in this game. Heck, for some reason I thought there were six.

Did we get that book in your game, thom? I'm drawing a big blank. I'm just flippantly assuming that we all got it at the beginning of this one; not even thinking that it could've been something acquired in our previous game.

And if that's the case, then I guess Lothan and Tyrrol will just split it in half.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Yes, you found that book in my game.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Travelling for the weekend. May not be posting til Tuesday.

Where'd everyone go?

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

I was in Connecticut. Saw family and friends. Dinner and a show in New York, NY. Mark Twain and Harriet Beecher Stowe houses. Pretty good trip.

Went to Syracuse, NY for the fair for a few days. Also can I try to roll for to identify the alchemical waste to see what it would do?

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Sorry, saw the post and told myself I'd get back to it. I completely forgot. My bad.

Male Half-Elf Alchemist/8 AC:17 Touch:12 FF:15 HP:52/52

Updated the profile with his current stats.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Man, Thom, I've never seen heal rolls like that either. Those are unbelievable.

Not only did you roll the 3 eight's and 1 seven, but on the first heal roll you rolled, it was also a seven. Add 'em together and you get a full house. :)

That is pretty amazing though. If I rolled that like that I think the Paizo servers would crash because they wouldn't know how to act if I rolled that well. ;)

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

It's an aberration. I never roll that well.

Tyrrol. He's an implacable force of nature. I am so glad he's on our side.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

My posting is gonna be spotty over the next week or so. RL stuff and all that. Will try to get something up tonight. Got too much happening at this point.

If you have to move forward then feel free to do so. Just DMPC me.

Actually, Tyrrol is not dying - he is instead very dead.

Luke, I just traced through this encounter. Assuming Tyrrol started at 53/57 hp. I've got him at -1 hp, not way dead.

Even if -1 is right, I am shocked. I am not used to Tyrrol being threatened at all by an opponent. They usually die too fast.

Male Aasimar (Plumekith) Occultist (Psychodermist/Reliquarian) (AC 25/17/20; HP 52/52; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +8; Init +8, Perception +17, CMD 22)

You missed some of the damage (there was more hiding behind a spoiler).

He did indeed start the combat on 53/57 hp, but then he took the following:

8 + 14 + 7 + 5 + 17 + 19 = 70 damage total.

Which is a wee bit more than he had to spare.

Male Aasimar (Plumekith) Occultist (Psychodermist/Reliquarian) (AC 25/17/20; HP 52/52; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +8; Init +8, Perception +17, CMD 22)

Eh. It's alright - the GM just finally got around to upgrading the encounters to Pathfinder from 3.5 (I know this, because Tyrrol was taking Alchemist Bomb-level damage, and Alchemists did not exist as a class at the time this AP was written).

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Luke, it may be small comfort, but Iolar has access to reincarnate, if you want to try that.

Unfortunately, there's nothing like coming back as a kobold to ruin a character concept.

Hmmm, the list isn't as interesting as it used to be. Where's the badger, the bear, the mouse?

Male Aasimar (Plumekith) Occultist (Psychodermist/Reliquarian) (AC 25/17/20; HP 52/52; Fort +9, Ref +10, Will +8; Init +8, Perception +17, CMD 22)

No, it is okay - Tyrrol was a fairly nihilistic servitor of entropy, so going against that by cheating the natural order and returning to life would realistically be anathema to him.

That said, I *am* curious as to what he would have come back as...

1d100 ⇒ 55 = Half-Orc.

Heh. That probably would not have been a good idea in Kyonin ;-)

Luke_Parry, you have the option of creating another character, but I want to see what the party does now and if they mean to find a way to bring back Tyrrol.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Luke, what do you want to do about Tyrrol?

We might have a chance to raise him. I can see Iolar leaning one of two ways. Tyrrol's dead and that's the natural course of things. Or Tyrrol's a hero and we're damn sure going to get him raised.

I'll have her take whichever tack you prefer.

Sovereign Court

It is okay - as I said before, Tyrrol was a devotee of entropy, so being raised would not really be something that he would be willing to follow through with.

Male Humanly Awesome 'n Totally Rockin' Paladin of Greatness

Well that truly does suck. I liked the opposite ends of the spectrum that was Lothan and Tyrrol. Reminded me of the show The Odd Couple.

One dude's a goof off and the other was dead serious all the time. Truly was a great combo(in my opinion anyway). Dang I sure hate to see it end. Gonna miss it.

Cookie Jar Pilferer 9 ; Dimensional Explorer 4

Yeah, the contrast between the two of you was a lot of fun. I think I'll miss the serious smack that he could lay down. As a DM it was a source of wonder and frustration and as a player it was deeply comforting.
