One of my uncles has died. I'll be travelling and visiting with family, probably until Monday.

So, I like the fact that you guys moved on without Iolar. She certainly deserved it after ordering you guys to wait. I can't wait to find out what the magic on the roof is though. Hopefully something useful.
If you don't mind I'm going to read the spoilers for entertainment value.

therealthom |

Ludomancer, how's Iolar doing on the roof?
I figure her timeline at 1 round to the roof, 3 to fully ID that magic, 1 or 2 to return.
v. the main party 2 or 3 rounds to move and open the door. First round of combat in the library.
So she'll return in round 3 or 4 ? If it goes that long.

thin, locked book, bound in iron and silver; (moderate conjuration)
a scroll of clairvoyance
3 masterwork hand crossbows, a masterwork whip, a masterwork flail, 2 suits of masterwork studded leather armor, a suit of full plate armor, a heavy metal shield, 2 short swords, 7 iron bolts with resin-coated tips, 10 metal bolts with a glass section in the middle filled with what looks like acid, 2 smokesticks, and a silver holy symbol (make a knowledge (religion) check to identify).
**** In the room where you fought the demons, you find seven of the orbs stationed on top of the short pillars, still intact, each of them showing vague shifting images of an ancient elven city. One of them, when you pick it up, displays an image of a scholarly-looking elf, who then speaks to you. "I am Eloquan, ..."
Vendric you had asked about poison. I suspect that the resin coated bolts are poisoned.
As I said in the game thread, just speak up if you want anything. Iolar will be loath to give up the magic to Karishiel's men, and she has no desire for the mundane equipment. She's willing to give some up to Evianna, maybe Ludomancer would let us use an exchange of "gifts" to barter for items better suited to the party.

Shows you how much I've been paying attention - there are ONLY 5 of us in this game. Heck, for some reason I thought there were six.
Did we get that book in your game, thom? I'm drawing a big blank. I'm just flippantly assuming that we all got it at the beginning of this one; not even thinking that it could've been something acquired in our previous game.
And if that's the case, then I guess Lothan and Tyrrol will just split it in half.

Javell DeLeon |

Man, Thom, I've never seen heal rolls like that either. Those are unbelievable.
Not only did you roll the 3 eight's and 1 seven, but on the first heal roll you rolled, it was also a seven. Add 'em together and you get a full house. :)
That is pretty amazing though. If I rolled that like that I think the Paizo servers would crash because they wouldn't know how to act if I rolled that well. ;)

Actually, Tyrrol is not dying - he is instead very dead.
Luke, I just traced through this encounter. Assuming Tyrrol started at 53/57 hp. I've got him at -1 hp, not way dead.
Even if -1 is right, I am shocked. I am not used to Tyrrol being threatened at all by an opponent. They usually die too fast.

Tyrrol Radanavich |

You missed some of the damage (there was more hiding behind a spoiler).
He did indeed start the combat on 53/57 hp, but then he took the following:
8 + 14 + 7 + 5 + 17 + 19 = 70 damage total.
Which is a wee bit more than he had to spare.

Tyrrol Radanavich |

Eh. It's alright - the GM just finally got around to upgrading the encounters to Pathfinder from 3.5 (I know this, because Tyrrol was taking Alchemist Bomb-level damage, and Alchemists did not exist as a class at the time this AP was written).

therealthom |

Luke, it may be small comfort, but Iolar has access to reincarnate, if you want to try that.
Unfortunately, there's nothing like coming back as a kobold to ruin a character concept.
Hmmm, the list isn't as interesting as it used to be. Where's the badger, the bear, the mouse?

Tyrrol Radanavich |

No, it is okay - Tyrrol was a fairly nihilistic servitor of entropy, so going against that by cheating the natural order and returning to life would realistically be anathema to him.
That said, I *am* curious as to what he would have come back as...
1d100 ⇒ 55 = Half-Orc.
Heh. That probably would not have been a good idea in Kyonin ;-)

therealthom |

Luke, what do you want to do about Tyrrol?
We might have a chance to raise him. I can see Iolar leaning one of two ways. Tyrrol's dead and that's the natural course of things. Or Tyrrol's a hero and we're damn sure going to get him raised.
I'll have her take whichever tack you prefer.

Javell DeLeon |

Well that truly does suck. I liked the opposite ends of the spectrum that was Lothan and Tyrrol. Reminded me of the show The Odd Couple.
One dude's a goof off and the other was dead serious all the time. Truly was a great combo(in my opinion anyway). Dang I sure hate to see it end. Gonna miss it.
