Tear her apart! Raun hates that b%*#+ :p She's gotten away from us twice now :s
Raun glares at the two mercenaries in front of her, but is more interested in what is going on behind them. She frowns as the cleric smites the field, and grits her teeth as the elemental tears it open, but her frustration is soon replaced with a grin as the shining figure rises up to assault them. She turns that grin onto the two who tried to attack her, before suddenly vaulting over the left side of the platform, running sideways along the edge, before tumbling down into the library below, letting out a roar as she charges to tower over the viper, hammer at the ready.
I'm guessing due to the shelves and stuff below that I can't get to the half-elf even with my 70 foot move and will have to double move to get there, but just in case...

Daina's fireball explodes in the northern chamber, briefly eclipsing the shining creature that emerged from the library. Three of the mercenaries die in a flash, but the blinded silt priest remains standing and the elemental is only scorched.
Renewing his protection over others in the group, Nnn'tkklik'l tries to draw the wounded priest into the collective, but the mad acolyte proves too resistant.
With the opponents cleared from her path, Raun leaps down into the library, murder on her mind as she seeks the half-elf who had mocked her in Tyr. But her rage only grows as bookshelves and table block her path. Bulling through, she makes her way toward where she last saw the bald half-elf, but he is nowhere in sight. The half-elf dropped out of sight into a concealed position last round and Raun failed the opposed Stealth/Perception check.
Above, on the platform, the silt priest screams in pain and confusion. He staggers west, suffering more damage as the shining creature swipes a burning claw through his flesh. Calling to the hungry spirits of the silt, the priest summons forth a storm of dust and heat lightning that obscures vision. -4 to Perception checks for the next round.
Advancing on the shining creature, the silt elemental seems to swell, a cavity opening up in its chest like the maw of some giant worm. The silt wraps around the glowing figure, swallowing it as rays of light slash out from the elemental's form. The elemental engulfs the shining creature, but burns from within.
The golems advance toward the central platform, one slashing at the blind and wounded priest while the other cuts down the remaining mercenary.
Below, Raun thinks she hears the half-elf scuttling around, but he remains hidden from her sight and impossible to locate. The half-elf moved (at half speed) and returned to cover. Raun needs to beat a 34 to spot the half-elf between now and his next action.
In the central chamber, Gorkhan sags with exhaustion caused by the necromancer's spell but launches himself into another attack, feinting low before impaling the witch on the seeker's blade. She slumps, unconscious, as the power of the punisher's ring magnifies the pain of the blow.
Swiping ineffectually at the undead gladiator, Grit shifts his attention to the downed apprentice, clawing and biting at her stony flesh. Blood drips to the floor as her body drifts to the ground. Despite the grievous wounds, she appears to still breathe.
Below, the battle rages as one of the undead dune reapers and a crystal golem slash at each other. On the stairs, another of the undead monstrosities slashes at the chapterhouse's immortal guardian, to no effect.
The guardian responds with an attack routine that is too fast to follow. Sword slicing through the air at the speed of thought, it dispatches the undead abomination in two strokes.
The guardian's sword is still raised in the air when the tall, black-robed figure reaches out to it, fingers seeming to stretch across the intervening space. The blade disappears from the guardian's hand, reappearing a split second later in the master's grasp. The tall one used the retrieve psionic power to swipe the guardian's sword. Sword in hand, the intruder blinks out of sight again, reappearing in the air near the doors to the north chamber. He again used the dimension step-ish psionic ability to move.
Covering his master's retreat, the undead gladiator attempts to block Grit's pursuit, adjusting position and unleashing another flurry of blows against the transformed druid. His sword bites deep into Grit's hide and his shield slams into the tigone's shoulder, cracking bone. Two hits land. After accounting for DR, the damage wipes out the rest of Grit's temp hp and causes 35 damage to hit points.

Is "The Destroyer" the "undead gladiator"? I'm wanting to dispel the freedom of movement of Grit's next enemy, but I want to make sure I'm targeting the right person.
Edit: If my assumption is correct, this is Diana's action.
Daina narrows her eyes at the undead gladiator. Grit won't have trouble for much longer. She jerks her hand. "Sulta arcannis!"
Dispel Check (DC 11 + spell's caster level): 1d20 + 9 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 9 + 1 = 24
Burning another point to increase the caster level of the spell by 1. That should succeed if the caster level of the freedom of movement spell is level 13 or lower.
Grit
But the undead gladiator is a distraction, albeit a dangerous one. The necoancer is trying to leave with the sword...
Raun
Yeah... Raun can't make that DC.
Raun growls as the sneaky foe eludes her, whipping around at the noise but unable to pinpoint the source. <<Where is codex.>> she demands at last, mentally poking the champion once more as she reaches up to grab her necklace and give the half-elf a taste of his own medicine...
Standard action to activate the Amulet of Shadows giving her the stealth bonuses and hide in plain sight. She will then move 35 feet (half speed) to wherever the champion recommends, searching for the book and/or the Viper.
Stealth: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
Perception: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30
Damn it, Raun really should have been in that chamber fight. She has a bunch of abilities to mess with magicians I'd forgotten about. Oh and she'll dismiss Enlarge Person... don't want another -4 to stealth...

@GM: could Energy Push be used in a disarm? Just wondering, as I see the Master is right there in line of sight. Was thinking of either trying to blast the sword out of his hands, or just shooting him since he would hit the wall right there and take some extra damage. not sure which i should target, but here are the rolls

force: 6d6 - 6 ⇒ (1, 2, 6, 4, 2, 3) - 6 = 12
STR DC 22 or pushed into wall for impact, no save: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 1) = 6 dmg
then a move action to regain psionic focus
Gorkhan Trask
Gorkhan floats down to the floor beside the Apprentice. Given the nature of her and her companions, and the fact that he was almost too tired to move, the bard decided to make sure she wouldn't be returning, swinging his blade down on her.
Attack w/ Haste, Spatial Awareness, Studied Target -exhaustion: 1d20 + 13 + 1 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 13 + 1 + 2 + 1 = 25 vs. helpless
Damage w/ Spatial Awareness, Sneak Attack, Studied Target, Vital Strike -exhaustion: 5d6 + 7 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (2, 3, 1, 6, 5) + 7 + 2 + 1 = 27
If next round occurs over the weekend, feel free to have Gorkhan perform a Coup de Grace, sever her head/limbs, just in case
Woki
Action 1: Channel energy to heal.
Channel Energy: 5d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 3, 3, 4) = 19 x 4 = 76 hp
76 hp total if you have Orryn and Ral in the link, Nnn. Otherwise, 38 hp.
Action 2: Cast Stinking Cloud on or near enough to the 'Master' not to catch us in it if possible. 20-ft sphere of the stank. If living, Fort DC 18 or become nauseated. Cloud lasts 9 rounds, effect lasts as long as in it plus 1d4+1 rounds after leaving it.
Woki revises her plan as the battle plays out around her. As blows land, the small halfling calls upon the revitalizing energies of the rain spirits. Sighting the deadheart in charge of it all as he zips about the room and grabs the sword from the guardian, Woki spits into her hand and flings it toward the necromancer while chanting and imagining the worst smelling fungus that grows in the Forest Ridge.
Raun
Raun's still at full. I believe Gorkhan took a little damage and possibly Grit.
Grit
Grit has taken 65 points of damage - 35 of that is real damage beyond his temps. That is around 40% of his health, meaning he can last about 2 more rounds before he goes down.
DM Under a Dark Sun
<<Where is Codex?>> Raun demands, her hand fading to gray as the amulet of shadows takes effect, rendering her nearly invisible.
<<Stop yelling -- and how should I know?>> the Champion replies. <<It was the Warden that visited this chapterhouse in the last age. I've never been here. The copy of the codex I studied was at the Citadel, where we kept it in a meditation room, on a pedestal.>>
Glancing around, Raun spots a pedestal -- several, actually -- near the center of the room, beneath the shattered keystone. All the books look the same to her, but it seems like a decent place to wait, hammer ready to smash the bald half-elf if he shows himself.
In the central chamber, Daina unravels the oily skin of magic protecting the Destroyer from Grit's grasp. Nnn'tkklik'l targets the fleeing master with his crystal staff of battle, but the blast fails to penetrate the layers of psionic and magical protection warding the intruder.
Trailing the body of the necromancer as it floats to the ground, Gorkhan raises the Seeker's blade in weary arms and brings it down, neatly severing the apprentice's head from her body. Short of more necromancy, she won't be getting up again.
Woki channels healing into the collective, which Nnn'tkklik'l redirects back to the halfling (healing her 24 points, to full) and to Grit (healing him 31 points). The halfling then follows up with a spell that fills the air with the stench of a charnel house.
The black-robed master doubles up, retching, as he is engulfed in the cloud.
Botting Grit, since he didn't post an action.Seeing an opening, Grit darts around the undead champion, moving swiftly enough to avoid the gladiator's shining sword. Aided by Daina's haste spell, the transformed druid hustles across the chamber, putting the nauseated master within reach. No straight line for a charge, so double move to engage the master. Based on Grit's posts about priorities, I figure he'd do that rather than attacking the champion.
Apparently unable to manifest his psionic powers, the black-robed master flies clumsily forward down the hall toward the north chamber. Grit swipes as the fleeing figure, but again the master's protections are too strong. Clutching the guardian's blade, he flies north, rising toward the hole in the ceiling in the north chamber.AoO misses Move puts him in the north chamber, about 10 feet above the walkway and 25 feet above the floor.
Still screaming in pain, the silt cleric stumbles backward - allowing the the golem pursuing him to carve a bloody gash in his thigh - and chants a spell. Despite the distraction of the new wound, he completes the prayer, transforming into a cloud of dust that rises toward the ceiling. Makes his concentration check and casts gaseous form. The lack of a physical form isn't enough to save the badly wounded priest, however - lumbering forward, the golem scatters the cloud with its enchanted blades.
Seconds later, the silt elemental is torn to shreds as the shining figure it had swallowed claws free from the inside, rays of burning light flashing as it flies free. Recognizing it as an intruder, one of the golems trundles forward to engage it, scoring a glancing blow.
As the shining creature screams in frustration, Raun spots movement in the shadows below the walkway. Moving with hasted speed, the bald half-elf slips out from behind the pedestals and grabs a large, hidebound tome before launching himself into the air. Raun lashes out with her hammer, landing a solid blow, but the half-elf keeps moving, rising to the ceiling in seconds. The half-elf steps to the book, grabs it (drawing an AoO), then flies out and up, ending about 50 feet in the air, near the hole to the outside.
Back in the central chamber, the remaining undead reaper and the golem continue to batter at each other, with the golem gaining the upper hand.
The undead gladiator, left alone, charges north, flying straight for Daina and Woki. Lashing out with his shield, he slams Daina into the sarcophagus behind her, knocking her prone. Daina takes 24 damage, leaving her with one temp hit point, and is knocked prone.
Ignoring the murderous attack, the chapterhouse guardian cries out in frustration as the master flies off with his blade. Chasing after in pursuit, the guardian flings a ray of black energy that slams into the master's back but fails to do any visible damage. Enervation caused one negative level.

Bah... stupid golems... although it probably will try to kill Raun if there are no other targets I suppose :s Someone with more situational awareness than Raun might try to get the golems to hack at Dote.
<<HALF-ELF GOT BOOK!>> Raun bellows over the mental link as she gives chase, throwing balls of pure white hot rage after the 'noble' half-elf. When she hits the nearest wall she just adjusts her stride and continues to charge up it, defying gravity as she unthinkingly pursues their foes, all else forgotten in her mad scramble.
I'm tempted to say Raun tries to attack the book with her scorching rays rather than the half elf... how badly hurt by her first attack does he look, and does the champion know if the book has any magical protection? or is it likely to got up like tinder from some 4d6 fire blasts? :p Whichever looks like the best target she will go for, and hopefully she should be able to get close enough to throw another two next round.

You botted Grit perfectly. :) I had hoped the 80' move would have allowed a single attack but such is life. Daina, I am not sure a sphere will anything to someone who can teleport pretty much at will. I does prevent Grit from attacking him though. :(
Grit charges and pounces on the half-elf, hoping to bring him down.

Elemental Wild Shape
You can infuse your wild shape with the power of the natural elements.
Prerequisite: Wild shape class feature, Knowledge (nature) 5 ranks.
Benefit: When you use wild shape to take the form of an animal, you can expend an additional daily use of your wild shape class feature to add the elemental template to your animal form. This form grants you the following abilities:

Raun: I don't think you can target the book specifically, as we're not using the optional rules for called shots and you can't disarm with a ranged attack.
Daina: You don't have line-of-sight to target the master from your current position, which is prone on the floor with a sarcophagus and a wall between you and the master. You would need to move at least 10 feet to the left/west to have line-of-sight. Before moving (by foot or your dimensional slide ability) you first must spend a move action to stand up, which will provoke an attack of opportunity from the Destroyer.
Grit: You have the same line-of-sight (or rather, line-of-charge) issue as Daina. You've got to move 10-15 feet west to the doors before you have a straight shot to the master, preventing a charge/pounce. You could do a standard move and single attack if you wish.
Grit
Grit still goes for the halfelf, hoping that he can grapple him.
Bite: 1d20 + 15 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 15 + 1 = 312d8 + 9 + 1d6 + 1d6 + 9 ⇒ (6, 4) + 9 + (2) + (6) + 9 = 36
Grab: 1d20 + 15 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 15 + 1 = 17 I guess the grab was not meant to be.
Nnn'tkklik'l
a 25 ranged touch missed The Master? did he dodge it, or was it more like the beam hit a wall of protection around him? know psionics: 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (19) + 19 = 38 if it helps
also, if the creature grabbing the book provoked an AoO for grabbing, and Raun has combat reflexes, the creature's movement would have provoked another AoO.
To the guardians, Nnn'tkklik'l issues an instruction. <<Do not attack shiny creature. Attack black-robed one with blade if you can.>>
waiting on the reply of how the energy push appeared to fail against the master before deciding on my standard/move actions. my current plan is to move such that i can see him through the doorway and try to pull him into the collective. kinda weak move though, since im sure he has good will saves and i wont kill him anytime soon with 22 dmg per turn assuming all successes.
Woki
Woki flies after the master, zipping down the hall and up into the chamber as she attempts to cut off their escape.
Could I use Wall of Thorns to clog up the hole in the ceiling? I'm hoping the guy with the book doesn't have freedom of movement otherwise it won't do much.
Gorkhan Trask
Can't look at the map since I can only access it via phone and I'm nearing my data limit. Is the action headed northwards and nothing pretty much left in the Gorkhan's vicinity (and smaller area where he can spring attack because of the exhaustion)? If so:
Gorkhan stumbles northwards, slowly, his shattered bones having taken a lot out of him.
Oh, if the guardians need more than just Nnn to order them around, Gorkhan will add his voice to the order
DM Under a Dark Sun
Nnn: The master's protections are primarily psionic-based, with an emphasis on force effects (deflection bonus, etc.) and get-out-of-the-way effects (Dex, dodge, insight, etc.). His touch AC is very high.
Also, Raun doesn't have Combat Reflexes.
Woki: The hole in the ceiling is about 15x15, so you could cover it pretty easily with wall of thorns. You haven't seen anything to indicate whether or not the Viper is protected by freedom of movement like all the other named intruders ...
Gorkhan: You are about 100 feet south of the dais and sarcophagus in the central room. The Destroyer is there, beating up on Daina, w/Woki in threat range, as well. Everybody else is even farther, in the northern room.
Gorkhan Trask
So a double move (total 80') ought to put him close enough for a spring attack next round. Anything he can pseudo hide behind? No need to draw a charge from the D-man.
Raun
Getting rid of Gorkhan's exhaustion would be good too, since he's our best chance of actually pursuing the half-elf and getting the book back.
Nnn'tkklik'l
Getting rid of Gorkhan's exhaustion would be good too, since he's our best chance of actually pursuing the half-elf and getting the book back.
ah! good call! i had forgotten about that.
Nnn'tkklik'l will take Gorkhan's exhaustion onto himself, freeing the agile woundsmith to pursue the stolen tome at full speed. The 'kreen then moves to get between the nearest guardian and the wall.
DM Under a Dark Sun
Static crackles as Raun bellows in frustration, her anger generating two flaming bolts that streak toward the thieving half-elf. One flies wide but the other strikes true - only to dissipate, the fire failing to cause any visible damage. The half-elf appears to have some sort of magic protection against fire, like the master and others.
In the central chamber, the Destroyer raises his sword to attack Daina again, but she manages to spit the words of a spell, caging the undead warrior in a globe of force.
Roaring, Grit charges up the north hallway, climbing into the air as he tries to reach the half-elf. Grit, even with the movement from haste, you can't reach the half-elf with a single move. I had you double move, and will use your attack as the AoO when he moves away.
With the Destroyer on the other side of a sphere of force, Woki follows Grit to the north, chanting the words of a spell that fills the hole in the ceiling with knotted thorns.
Taking Gorkhan's weakness into himself, Nnn'tkklik'l staggers back against the wall. Freed from his exhaustion, Gorkhan races north, catching up to Woki as a he races after the escaping foes.
Still retching, the black-robed elf flies clumsily upward toward the thorn-covered exit, which he reaches and passes through unimpeded. 30 feet of vertical movement puts him just past the barrier.
Clutching the Argent Codex close, the half-elf known as the Viper darts away from Grit, taking a claw to the back as he flies swiftly to the hole in the ceiling and -- seemingly unhampered by the summoned thorns -- disappears out of sight. Well past the wall, given the amount of movement he had.
In the central chamber, the trapped champion is enraged, battering at the force field with sword and shield to no avail. To the south, the battered crystal golem and the remaining undead dune reaper slash and hack each other into twitching bits.
Unable to pursue the master, the two golems in the north chamber turn their attention back to the shining figure from the library, slashing at it with monotous blows that slowly appear to be taking a toll. Shrieking, the creature lashes out with its burning touch, the fire appears to invigorate the golems rather than damaging them.
Watching as its sword and the tome it had guarded disappear beyond the confines of the chapterhouse, the guardian staggers forward, dropping to its knees as purple fire drips from its helm.
<<No ...>> it says, its word a rapidly fading whisper in your thoughts. <<After countless ages, I have failed ...>>
With a crash, the crystal and ivory armor crashes to the ground, lifeless.

Grit
Grit calls out <<Remove the thorns!>> as he waits, hoping that he can finally charge an opponent. He has Freedom of movement but I am not sure he can see through the wall. Hmm. If it blocks visibility that could mean that people moving through the wall have to do so at half speed, slowing them at least a little.
Nnn'tkklik'l
Nnn'tkklik'l moves through the doorway to the north (half speed and haste cancelling out, giving up to 60ft move to around the top of those steps) and orders the statue he was using as a battery to guard the doorway against his enemies.
Gorkhan Trask
Gorkhan tries to keep up with those attempting to flee with their powerful components.
Thanks to Nnn for removing exhaustion. Didn't know that could happen. Back up to full speed (80' move rate, up to 160' with a double move... 220 if I use the hustle power for the extra move action. If Gorkhan can't spring attack any of the thieves this round (via an 80' hustle then up to 80' spring attack), he'll double move to try to keep up with them.
Raun
Still roaring in rage Raun pounds headlong up the wall and then scrambles her way across the ceiling, heavy hammer in one hand while she claws her way to the hole with her feet and other hand.
Same for Raun pretty much. Think she should be able to get through the hole if Woki dismisses the hedge of thorns. 140' double move, 45 feet up the wall and then ~70-80 feet along the ceiling thanks to spider climb :)
Woki
Woki flicks her fingers up at the useless wall and utters a single word to turn the thorns back into motes of dust. She immediately goes soaring up toward the hole after the master and his minion.
DM Under a Dark Sun
The red glow of the afternoon sun illuminates the northern chamber as Woki dismisses the wall of thorns. Against the glare, the master's robed form is silhouetted perfectly against the opening. The Viper is nowhere to be seen.
The master is in the center of the 15x15 hole, five feet above "ground level." He can be charged, and since he's still nauseated, you can move past him without provoking. If you want to try to locate the Viper, you'll have to move up to the surface and give me a Perception check. If you want that to be your action, let me know what you intend to do if you spot him and if you don't.
Raun
Have we actually hurt the master at all? Is it worth attacking him? Well either way Raun would probably take aswipe at him on her way past looking for the Viper.
Charge: 1d20 + 21 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 21 + 2 = 42 for Damage: 4d8 + 27 ⇒ (4, 5, 8, 7) + 27 = 51
Damn, if only improved crit... This should leaveRaun standing on the edge of the hole, ready to whack him when he moves. If he tries to cast a spell -6 to his concentration.
DM Under a Dark Sun
Raun is the first to react as Woki's summoned thorns disappear. Charging along the ceiling, she swings her hammer around in an arc that slams into the master. His magical protection appears to absorb a portion of the blow, but she hears bones crack as she continues, spider-footed, onto the surface.
With a whistling pop, the master disappears. Daina identifies the effect as a psychoport trigger, tied to losing half his hit points.
Looking around in frustration, Raun sees no sign of the Viper, who seems to have vanished into the blowing silt.
Running up behind, Gorkhan spots some tracks that appear to be heading toward the silt-filled bay to the west, but they vanish quickly in the shifting sand.
The other members of the group advance into the northern chamber, Woki's flight carrying her partway to the surface. A golem blocks the entrance to the central chamber, leaving Orryn and Ral alone with the undead champion, who appears to have stopped moving within the reslient sphere, standing still as if waiting for something.
Realizing that the golems are resistant to its burning light, the shining creature rises into the air, screeching as one slashes it while it withdraws. Still screaming incoherently, the creature focuses a ray of searing light at Woki. After accounting for fire resistance, Woki takes 16 damage to temp hp.
~~~~~~~~oo~~~~~~~~
You're up! Grit can act twice since he didn't post in the previous round after the wall of thorns went down. Everyone has haste, delay poison, resist fire 20 and resist death.
