Garra |
Garra says and looks to see if Custos is following her before finding someone that looked like he was in charge.
"Excuse me, I and my comrades are conducting an investigation for the city guard and would like to ask you a few questions. Would you have an office or somewhere else that we can talk privately," she asks as kindly as she could manage.

The prize-winning smile and the "excuse me" actually worked.
"Of course, missy," said the person in charge. "I have an office over here."
He leads you away from the bustle of the shimmerweave mill to an alcove that is still relatively quiet. "Now, what is this all about?" he asks.
Garra |
Garra, who'd been about to say just that, but in a more "official" way, closes her mouth and fishes out the scrap of shimmerweave.
"Do you have any records of someone ordering shimmerweave like this," she asks, "we would like to see them if you do."
Custos The Sentinel |
Custos was never too far behind, carefully looking over the variety of items and things on sell. His attention was on his fellow Warforged as they entered into the shimmerweave mill, watching them work before they were finally able to be moved away from the noise and into the manager's office.
"Your assistance would be much appreciated, sir." He said quietly from behind the group, standing still as he watched and observed the man's mannerisms with an unblinking stare.

Taking the sample, he manipulates it, holds it up to the light and says, "This is Elasticine (Spandex), we don't weave Elasticine here. We weave Crystaline shimmerweave. Who ever is wearing this, must be wearing a skintight garment. You might want to check Dame Tira d'Cannith's shop. It's just two blocks down from us. They make Elasticine shimmerweave."
Custos The Sentinel |
"Let us move onwards then. This one is no further help." Custos would move slowly now, heading out into the louder rooms where the looms worked hard and long. He would look back at Ilbryn and Garra, giving a slow nod for a moment.
That was excellent talking on both your parts. Let us hope our true target has more worthwhile information."

"Thank you for your time and the information. We appreciate your assistance," Garra says before following the others out.
"Skintight? Wouldn't that be uncomfortable," she asks once they are out of the shop and heading for the shop the manager indicated.

Garra lets out an inconspicuous sigh before looking for someone that looks like they're in charge.
"Excuse me! I'm sorry for the bother but we have been tasked with investigating an incident at the graveyard and we need to ask you a few questions. We don't suspect any wrongdoing on your part or the part of your employees, but we believe that you may have some information that will lead us to the culprits," she says in her best pleasant-but-insistent voice.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Custos The Sentinel |
"Ma'am, this is not in regards to your business standards, procedures, or policies. This is in regards to whether or not a group or an individual had purchased material from your establishment that had been involved with a crime. Your assistance would be greatly valued while resistance could be seen as assisting the suspects and could be detrimental to further business. Please, will you help us." Custos asks in his low tone, offering out the fabric for her to see.
Diplomacy: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (8) - 2 = 6
Nailed it.
Custos The Sentinel |
Custos seems to watch the woman for a few moments longer as she stares at the fabric, his face as unreadable as ever. He carefully watches hers though, trying to see if he can get a read upon her.

"I am sure you would be happy to come with us to the city watch station to sort this out, instead of answering our questions here. Of course we would have to shut down your business, post guards to make sure no one tampers with any evidence. Probably even post notices around that we are looking for information related crimes and your establishment, go door to door asking about your business. And I think you need permission from the city to reopen after such a closure, and I am sure you know how fast beurocrats process
Paperwork. I agree that is a much better way of handling this situation. My friends can inform your staff while you and I step outside." Kut indicates that the lady can go first.
Garra |
Sense Motive: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12
Don't think that's going to let Garra know what Custos knows.
"Y'know," Garra says as she frowns at the woman, "it's not wise to tell the official investigators to shove off like that even if you aren't involved in anything that's, ah, illicit. We just wanted to ask you a few questions about any customers you may have had, but it seems that my friends here are wondering if you might have something going on here the watch should know about," she finishes, a wicked grin beginning to spread across her face.
"Knowing what will likely happen, are you really wanting us to leave instead of stepping into your office for a few questions?"
Ilbryn Herubawienagar irManimar |
diplomacy: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27
Ilbryn attempts to intervene. He slides in between the others and the woman, but maintains his distance. He speaks quietly for the benefit of the group and the woman alone.
"Yes, call the watch, be our guest. If you'd like, we could summon them. They are our employers, after all. The thing is, you'd be hemmed up for obstructing justice. Look, if you are in trouble, we can help. We are looking for who is really guilty, not some middleman. If they've threatened you, you can let us know without recourse. Keep facts from us, bear in mind we have ways of discovering them, and you'll see the cell and your tormentors will remain free. Or we could have a little chat in your office and forget to include your name in the final report."
Garra |
Garra holds it up for the woman to inspect.
"We visited the other shops and were told that this one makes this particular variant of Shimmerweave. Have you had any orders for something in this color?"
Custos The Sentinel |
Custos remains quiet as Garra takes the lead, a small smile upon his face as he studies the young woman. It seemed to have taken a bit of time but she seemed to be coming out on her own now, his attention turning towards the manager she was speaking to.
"Is he returning anytime soon for another shipment or is his business with you concluded?
Garra |
Looks to be fixed now.
Garra quirks an eyebrow at Tira's reply.
"As he says, we are here to deal with a threat to our city. Is he threatening you or your business? If he his, then we will need to speak with him regardless of his involvement in our current case."
If I can, take 10 on diplomacy to aid Ilbryn in his roll.

"Thank you, and take care," Garra tells Tira, a flash of concern in her eyes as she stands.
Would Garra know what park Tira's referring to?
There is a park in the industrialized part of Rekkenmark that Tira is referring too. It's not on campus, so you might be traveling into "unknown" territory. At least for the others. You can know it on a successful knowledge (local) check with a +2 bonus from your background.
