Introduction

This is the Kingmaker Campaign, yet it is filled with many deviations from the boxed set. The "Campaign Information" page is meant as a quick resource to help sum up the thousands of posts quickly.

A heads up for all. I will be having extensive electrical work done around my home, today. There will be regular periods throughout my day where there will be no power in my house and therefore no computer access. So, I will try and keep up as best as possible and my apologies to the entire group and mainly to the Alpha Team.
You guys use electricity down there? I thought you had limitless power by harnessing the evil incarnate that is your wildlife. The screams of little children power the acoustics in the Sydney Opera House from what I hear.

Alaric, we're trying to preserve our wildlife -- it wouldn't do to make them extinct and not have future generations have access to such mighty creatures. ;) Re the children's screams ... that's been a national secret for 37/38 years ... how did you find out?!

Heavy rains pour down all night. The sky seemed to have opened up at around 9 PM and do not stop pouring rain down nearly all night. I will need to get Fortitude rolls from all in the morning to confirm their health (exluding Brett and Alaric). Smendor, you need a roll as well, though your difficulty is much lower as you were in a tent. However, with the temprature by the pond and heavy rains, your chance for getting ill still exists.

Gideon advises about camping.
I suggest we hunker down and make camp as best we can.

I agree that is the best thing we can do for now. I suggest Gideon and Ry stay here and watch the horses while I go and try to gather some...things to burn her nose scrunches up as she finishes the last of that statement...not really looking forward to having to search for dung much less touch it to bring it back to camp. She sets out to search for burnable things.

Survival check again?

Ariarh's fortitude roll: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

Griffon Dior's fortitude roll: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

Damn/Double Damn.

Tess, team Alpha is on Skype, if you'd like...

Yes... since it is dark now.

There has been some errors with this post, so I will put it up again...

He ignores Ariarh's cries. Dior making a "Survival" roll of his own...

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19

His amazing pluck AND resources have him return to "camp" in about thirty minutes (go Dior and his mighty roll). He is carrying a jackrabbit, which he drops at Ariarh's feet, and after she splits open its skull so he can feast on the brains, he nudges it to her with his beak, so that she can get (in HIS opinion) a "propper meal".

Though Ariarh may not eat much meat, Dior will be terribly disapointed if she doesn't at least make a show of enjoying it. He will "allow" the others to eat this fresh kill too, after Ariarh gets her dibs first.

I have put this up before, but it didn't post properly. So I coppied it and pasted it. Here you go...

"Fortitude Save"

Need Fort saves now from Gideon, Tess, and Smendor.

Thanks!

Ariarh wasn't partial to rabbit but since her little friend brought and wanted to share with her she would not offend him and partake in small quantity. She would also share the rest of the jackrabbit with her two companions -- Yes it was a small morsel but at least it was something (for now).

Power is out again and does not appear to be coming back on. FML. I'm typing from my ipad.

Prepare for ranting sequence--- Further more were i in D&D world I would be a wiz or soc and never stray too far from civilization until i had a adequate "sleep in the woods" spell. At Least a wand of Tiny hut. IRL i am not a woodsman. If I don.t have a bed and a shower im not a happy camper. Pun intended. Even in the army I slept in the back of the ambulance because it had a bed-like facsimile and an air conditioner. The AC sucked, but every little bit helps in the Mississippi heat. Oh and I've got to figure out how to take my contacts off in the dark. The contacts are a new development so i'm not very good with them just yet. Le sigh. End rant. Please continue your nomal behavior.

Survival Check for Stationary Weather: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Adding + 4 Survival
Adding + 5 for winter clothing
Adding + # Not sure Blanket
Blanket, Winter: This is a fur blanket large enough for one person.
Adding + 6 Normal Save

Fort Save:1d20 + 15 ⇒ (14) + 15 = 29 and again I am not sure on the bonus for the blanket.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

If anyone is wondering why did the stupid dwarf go outside? He has developed an aversion to sleeping inside due to the years of being on the merchant road. If you look back he was sleeping outside all but the first night, and he really did not sleep that night he simply crashed in the corner.

This is more for the rain, not for the Cold. I just need your flat fortitude roll. In this case, I didn't need modifiers for cold weather.

Just for the future, when I need specific rolls for cold weather (i.e. traveling through snow, for example), I'll mentinon that.

In this case your Fortitude save would therefore be 19; not 29, as you have a +5 to Fortitude.

Again, this is for the rain, not the cold.

Alpha Team

You awake in the morning... Gideon, Ariarh and Dior have taken ill. The exposure to the elements, mostly the rain and the damp has caused you all to be come rather sick.

Remember, Ariarh, cure light potions don't heal diseases; cure disease spells do that

As such, you are coughing and somewhat miserable. Until this blasted cold clears up you are now at -1 to attack, Str and Dex based skills, and AC. You may make a Healing check to see what happens next in terms of how long it takes to get healed from your cold and what happens next.

You awake at dawn, and will need to eat something soon so go ahead and take another days worth of rations. Meantime, you have about four hours left to search this grid, and should be able to get into the next hexegon to search by 11:30 or so. From there it should take about 12 hours to search THAT hexegon, and sunset is at 6:30. This means you will probably be gone for another day longer then expected.

You therefore move onto the next hex, hex B... Which I shall outline next.

Male Dwarf Shielded Fighter

Very well sorry I made an assumption there.

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

Gideon will suggest we just power through the illness and keep an eye out for better shelter.

Untrained Heal check 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

The healing check was for a diagnoses. You'll need some good best rest, hot soup, and plenty of fluids. You'll feel better in a few days. But that's then, this is now...

After around eleven o'clock you now move into hex B. Hex A is clealry "finalized" and documented in your log/map of travel.

You are moving now into tall dark woods, mostly clusters of pines, but then you'll move another hill and find oak and maple trees, but those go farther south and east.

This area is much more tricky to travel in, and you move your way cautiosly from place to place. After about four hours, it is now about four o'clock and you're feeling somewhat tired (the sickness, no doubt), when you hear noises from over the next ridge.

Before you advance I need Survival rolls, or Knowledge Nature (whatever is better) from all of you.

Ariarh looks around her and wonders at something...

"Hmm... this is odd; there seems to be some strange growth around here..."she bends and gently uproots some sort of plant or something.

"Look here, see? This plant looks like some kind of turnip or something like that... like a radish. Didn't that Svetlana ask us to bring us Moon Radishes or something? Didn't she mention something about a bounty in coin, too?

The others nodd gradually, they seem to remember this event as well.

Now I need everyone to make a Perception roll

Tess signals you all to be quiet, and encourages you to move slowly up the hill. You dismount and tie your horses off some trees and move somewhat quietly up to the ridge. When you get there you look down and see a whole series of these roots, or at least the green leaves in a wide circle. However, laying in the middle of the cricle is a series of reptilian creatures on the ground, some of them groaning and rubbing their bellies, others are sitting by munching on the remains of Radishes...

"Great... kobolds!Tess mutters with disgust. They seem to have staked out this territory. Well, what do you do now? As of yet, they haven't seen you...

Female Elf Ranger 1/Bard 1

Tess looks to Ry and whispers to her Want to attack and see if we can get these moon radishes for ourselves or do you want to leave before we're seen?

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

how many kobolds do I notice?

Gideon Samus Shaw wrote:

Just the ones in the little glade with the radishes...

Sorry, your coding for the Perception has me a bit off. I don't know what you actually rollled with Perception, so it's hard to answer.

He rolled a total of 26

i noticed that later and corrected. You should be able to see that it's a 26

"I know Svetlana really wants these moon radishes. And, we can get fair coin for them if we succeed in bringing them back to the Trading Post. If you're up for it, perhaps we should take these little critters on?"

With your Perception of 26 you notice the misplaced cream for the pie. On a related note, you and your gang can go exploring the new hex in a little bit. I'm working with Alpha Team now... but they all have to go to bed soon... then you and Smendor can jump in

I'm trying to decide my tactics. are there 5, 10, 100 that i notice?

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

my perception roll was 26 and I'm looking for kobolds.

Ariarh's loud question about moon radishes has seem to drawn the attention of the Kobold's... that and a loud sneeze from Dior...

Roll Iniative!

Kobolds 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (14) + 1 = 15

You see three Kobolds groaning and rubbing their bellies, and the other four of them hop up and all of them start clamering and charging toward you.

Female Elf Ranger 1/Bard 1

Tessara nods You make a good point she says as she grabs her bow and readies to shoot if needed.

Init:1d20 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 3 = 13

Female Aasimar Druid 7 (Noble)

Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

male Tiefling Gestalt staff magus/weapon adept monk 5

initiative 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11

If possible on my turn i'm going to take a 5 foot step and flurry with my staff. If not I'm simply going to move to the closest one and hit it.

Sickness has been calculated in these rolls
Flurry roll

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 111d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 201d6 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

non flurry roll

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 101d6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

There are a total of 7 Kobolds.

4 of them seem healthy, and are charging with spears.

3 of them are rising up to fight, but they look angry, though sick.

One of them yells out in Draconic

for those of you who speak draconic:
"Kill the intruders! They come to steal our food! They are invading what is ours by right! Kill or be killed!"

To simplify, their AC is 15.

Two of them are on Gideon. One of them attacks Gideon with a spear

1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17
1d6 - 1 ⇒ (5) - 1 = 4

Second attack
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
1d6 - 1 ⇒ (2) - 1 = 1

One has moved quick to Ariarh and is stabbing
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
1d6 - 1 ⇒ (6) - 1 = 5

The other is hoping to Tess
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
1d6 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2

The others are straggling to their feet. Your move...

Oh, that reminds me... Griffon

1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16

Female Elf Ranger 1/Bard 1

Tessara moves 30 feet from the kobald that attacked her and takes aim at him..

Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (6) + 8 = 14
Damage: 1d10 ⇒ 2
