Heartened by the fall of the evil Nualia, Kelvor decides to hold tight while his companions address the unnatural hound.
Current plan: Total Defense and perhaps move away. Will revise based on the results of Adjo and Ezren and Farouq's attacks.

Omrax will still try to revive Gaz (as stated above) and then scan the room for evil. Suspecting from his smite that Nualia had become some sort of demoness, he has no intention of trying to revive her.
"Strong work team. Sir Gaz, I thought you were a gonner...well, and without the luck of the Inheritor, I thought Sir Kelvor and I may be joining you next."

Gaz gets up slowly, his wounds slowly healing, but still several remain. "My thanks. I thought I had been out of the way enough to avoid her wrath." he adjusts his clothes and gear, standing up slowly. "Well, let us see if she has anything useful."
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24

"That was certainly a close call," says Kelvor as he quaffs two potions.
2d8 + 3 ⇒ (7, 8) + 3 = 18
2d8 + 3 ⇒ (6, 7) + 3 = 16

"Let us move on.

Omrax will also pick up Nualia's sword if nobody else does. Her breastplate armor is too heavy to carry (and probably would not look good on him anyway).
"Where to next? Is everyone ok to move on? It seems like we defeated the evil priestess or demoness. I am not sure how many goblins, hounds or others might still be down here. Hopefully none are as bad as this last fight. I do not want to try that again until we can rest."

Gaz-Nothing special however
Nualia’s notes and several journals lie on the tables here. Sorting through these notes takes several hours, but reveals the whole of Nualia’s story, The notes also outline her plans to send an army of goblins against Sandpoint and burn the town to the ground, not only to offer it all as a burnt offering to Lamashtu in hopes of being made a half-fiend, but also to fuel the runewell in the catacombs below. The notes go on to detail how to cause sinspawn to manifest from the runewell, and claim that if someone were to overextend the runewell’s stores, it would be deactivated. Nualia isn’t sure how to reactivate it, and several times stresses that the runewell shouldn’t be used much until after Sandpoint is razed and the deaths of hundreds of angry citizens and goblins have refilled the well.

"I am picking up a trio of evilness in the place. Do not enter unless we are prepared. The melee with Nualia depleted our ability to fight. I will try to determine more before we try to vanquish them."
He will continue to concentrate 2 more rounds unless he is interrupted by something coming out first.

Omrax will stow his shield and wield Nualia's sword, tightly gripped in both hands.
"We were on the receiving end of this Sir Gaz. Let us hope it hurts them as much as it did us."
With that, and a look to see his party is ready behind him, Omrax steps into the room with a defensive posture ( full defense) until he can see what evil they face.

"I am ready, Omrax. Let's continue," says Kelvor of the Shundar-Quah, as he holds his dual blades at the ready.

init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
If Omrax can see a shadow he will attack defensively, while staying near the door. If no shadow is within reach of the door, he will ready to attack once one is within range.

How many shadows?
Init: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10
Kelvor's mind immediately begins running through everything he's been taught about the undead.
Take advantage of heaven's blessing... blessed water from a shaman or any of the outlanders' gods will burn them.
Call upon the healing powers... any healing power or spell will damage or drive them off.
The touch of evil burns... avoid the touch of any revenant.
Kelvor immediately retreats a safe distance and drinks his potion of Protection from Evil and then draws his vial of holy water and prepares to throw it at the nearest shadow.
Ezren is going to rock in this encounter. Protect him at all costs! Omrax ought to be pretty effective as well, with his Lay on Hands (no save allowed!) and his wand of CLW. Note the wand doesn't have to touch the shadow to activate.

Omrax 19, Ezren 19, Kelvor 10, Gaz 9
Farouq?
Shadow Init. 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (14) + 2 = 16
Omrax attacks roll?
Ezren casts force missile at Shadow 1 (7 damage)
Shadow 1 attacks Omrax 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 strength damage: 1d6 ⇒ 2
Shadow 2 attacks Omrax 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8 strength damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
Shadow 3 attacks Kelvor 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 strength damage: 1d6 ⇒ 3
Kelvor ?
Gaz ?

Gaz steps into the room and tries to slice at the shadow with his magic sword they found, fighting on the defensive like Omrax.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (2) + 6 + 1 - 4 = 5
Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5

![]() |

lay hands only does 1-3 pts of damage...so not much. Missiles best chance.
Yes, magic missiles are the best option, but that's only Ezren.
And why does Lay on Hands only do 1-3hp? Should be 1d6, with no save allowed.

Kelvor unstoppers his flask of holy water and pours it on the shadow wavering before him.
Ranged Touch, no AoO: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Dmg: 2d4 ⇒ (3, 1) = 4
Splash damage to adjacent shadow=1pt

Can we roll init for Farouq and get him in there with his wand of CLW? Kelvor's next move will be pathetic: +1 sword.
In case DM says yes Farouq init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 Farouq Wand of CLW 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

My understanding was all non-force attacks only do 50% damage...also not sure why no save for clw? All GM That have run incorporeals have applied both, so if here is an FAQ I missed that would be a good reference to show.
Omrax attacks the first shadow to approach him.
"Back to the darkness vile creatures . "
+1 bastard word: 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (11) + 7 + 1 - 2 = 17 damage : 1d10 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 3 + 1 = 12
Edit - Omrax will 5' back towards door to get out of flank.
