Idril gives an absolutely perfect impression of what it would be like to not known sinspawn are hiding underneath you and waiting to kill you. Unfortunately, Thalrik walks onto the platform and happens to step on the only creaky board on the whole structure, causing an awkwardly loud creak to echo throughout the room.

One of the sinspawn nudges his buddy and gives a slight snicker. Then they jump out from under thee platform and begin to ascend the stairs...

Round 1

The two Sinspawn rush up the stairs towards Fraadok and a depressed looking Arthur, each one attacking one of the men with mighty teeth and claws. Fraadok, if you so desire you can make an AoO as the left-most Sinspawn runs past you to get to Arthur.

Sinspawn 1- attacking Arthur

Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 Bite Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 plus DC 12 Will save if bitten

The ugly brute gnashes at Arthur with his cruel looking teeth, but it is unable to penetrate Arthur's armor and misses.

Sinspawn 2- attacking Fraadok

Claw: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 Claw Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

The second sinspawn dashes past Arthur and swipes with a sharp claw at the Shoanti, connecting and leaving a slash across the man's chest. Fraadok takes 3 slashing damage.

Fraadok is unable to connect with either of his spear attacks, widely missing the Sinspawn as the creature nimbly avoids being hit.

Thalrik, trying to gain some advantage in the ensuing fight, lobs a blob of acid at the nearest monster, but he is also apparently blinded by a secret grief for his fallen allies, and his acid attack harmlessly strikes the wall.

@DajellyMan: I was going back through my posts and I noticed I had not done any knowledge checks on sinspawns. Fraadok only has a couple of knowledge skills, but I might get lucky.

Fraadok is amazed that three quarters of this group missed these creatures with thier attacks. He tries to recall if there is any reason they could be so difficult to engage.

Kn Planes: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Idril makes a successful acrobatic maneuver as she graciously flips down to the prison floor. She swings her bladed scarf at one of the creatures, but is unable to land a hit...

Idril Fumble Roll: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (20) + 5 = 25

... but she manages to keep her footing and remain in a fighting stance.

Arthur, watching his new team failing miserably at fighting these disgusting creatures, shakes of his sadness and unleashes his mighty club upon the skull of one of the creatures. Thanks to the flanking that Fraadok helps provides, Arthur is able to connect his blow to the tune of 6 damage against the creature!

The CRB is pretty clear on the fact that Aberrations get a K. Dungeoneering... However, I believe that Sinspawn will fall under K. Religion and K. Planes far easier than a dungeon so we are going to use your Planes roll.

Fraadok, you know this creature is a Sinspawn, a vile creature summoned up with the power of one of the seven deadly sins (wrath, lust, greed, gluttony, pride, sloth, envy). These ones in particular are Sinspawns of Wrath. Sinspawn are not supernatural creatures, and thus due require sustenance, so something in these catacombs must be nourishing them... You also know that a Sinspawn is capable of injecting a venom through its bite that causes one to succumb to the desires of a particular sin.

"Sinspawn are corrupted products of magic used by spellcasters in a past era as shock troops for their armies. Literally the embodiment of a sin made flesh, they are sentient abominations of distilled ectoplasm imprinted with the soul-image of slain creatures that possessed an abundance of a particular sin."

Round 2: FIGHT!

The Sinspawn's twisted visage spews spittle and bad breath as they scream their fury at the party. They each turn towards the nearest enemy (Fraadok and Arthur again ;P) and use a full round attack action to attempt to utterly destroy them!

Sinspawn attacking Arthur:

Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 Bite Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 (plus sinful bite, DC 12 Will)

Claw 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 Claw 1 Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Claw 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 Claw 2 Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

The creature attempts to bite Arthur's face, but Arthur is able to bring his hand up in time to stop the attack! However, doing this causes a gap to be left open in his defenses, allowing the creature to rip at him with its claws.

Arthur, takes 7 damage!

Sinspawn attacking Fraadok:

Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (15) + 3 = 18 Bite Damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 (plus sinful bite, DC 12 Will)

Claw 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21 Claw 1 Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2

Claw 2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17 Claw 2 Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Fraadok is completely powerless against the Sinspawn's assault and takes several hits from tooth and claw! He takes 11 damage from the attack. (which should put you at 3hp fraadok;x)

Fraadok Will Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

Fraadok, you are sickened for 1d6 ⇒ 2 minutes, and are staggered for 1 round!

Being no expert on the body, Thalrik could none the less still plainly see that Fraadok was still wounded. Reading from his scroll, a reddish hue surrounding one hand, he stepped out into the hallway briefly, returning to the room at Fraadoks side. Waiting a moment for an opening in the melee, he reached his hand in to touch the Shoanti. "This should help, now kill these things."

Casting Infernal Healing from Scroll, holding the touch, then moving to I 9, moving into the hallway to avoid an AOO. Touch Fraadok, delivering Infernal Healing.

Fraadok has Fast Healing 1 for the next 10 rounds.

Embarassed at missing her target and nearly decapitating Fraadok, Idril spins into a furious battle dance to Inspire Courage; skirts and scarves flying every which way. She attacks [H,9] again.
Bladed scarf attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 1 = 8 for a possible 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 3 + 1 = 6 slashing damage.


Game Master

Arthur's attack connects with the Sinspawn in H9, dealing it 6 damage. Everyone was also healed 6 damage by Fraadok's channel. Fraadok will continue to heal 1 damage per turn due to Thalrik's spell. Idril whirls and twirls and spins her bladed scarf at the H9 Sinspawn, but she is unable to hit it...

Round 3:

The Sinspawn in H9 turns towards the whirling scarf dancer with a face filled with rage. He lets out an intense bellow, spewing spittle and the rotten breathe of hundreds of years of no brushing into Idril's face.

The sinspawn reaches out his wretched claws and attempts to grapple Idril. This provokes an AoO...

Grapple Check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4

... the lithe dancer nimbly dances out of reach of the creature and avoids being grappled.

Seeing his partner's attack so easily avoided by this Varisian gypsy, the other sinspawn moves forward and attempts to knock Idril back from his buddy with a Bullrush attempt.

This also provokes an AoO from Idril, so whichever one you wanna hit.

Bull Rush Check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

The creature slams into the pretty lady and knocks her fragile frame backwards 10' with a loud crash. (Idril is knocked back to G6)

Idril, due to being knocked back down the stairs, you must make an acrobatics check to avoid falling prone.

Idril Acrobatics Check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10

Idril manges to keep her composure and land in her feet, but just barely!

Fraadok, I believe Idril is a dervish dancer bard archetype. This means that some of her performances are changed to "battl dances" that only buff her, and she gains different bonuses while dancing etc. but even with one less on the roll you still totally hit

Fraadok shoves his short spear into the chest of the creature in front of him, dealing another 4 damage! 10 damage total vs the sinspawn in H9. The creature is bloodied

Smarting from her humiliating misses, Idril lucks out as the spawn becomes overconfident as it tries to grab her. She punishes him severely with a near critical hit from a whirling bladed scarf.

Unfortunately, she also became overconfident as that allowed the spawn's buddy to body slam her; her eyes bugging out as she is hurled backwards. Still twirling and on the edge of disaster, she manages to avoid falling even as she was knocked back ten feet and down the stairs.


Game Master

The sinspawn (H9) is struck a fatal blow by Idril's swinging blade scarf. He take another 9 damage and then seems to stumble a bit and look very, very injured.

In a cold fury, Idril dances to (F,8) to attack (G,9). Only because she can't get at the staggered one. Another scarf snaps out...
Bladed scarf attack: 1d20 + 5 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 5 + 1 = 23 for a possible 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 3 + 1 = 10 slashing damage.

"And don't call me 'Missy' you great pile of bricks!" Idril called back, embarrassed at her initial performance and taking it out on anyone handy.


Game Master

Arthur gives his new female team mate a casual wink, and then the two of them proceed to kick some Sinspawn arse tag team style. Their combined efforts land two devastating hits on the monster for a total of 19 damage, reducing the creature to exactly 0 HP!

Both sinspawn are now staggered at 0hp and will drop to -1 and begin dying after either a single move or standard action.

Round 4:

Sinspawn in G9 attempts one last time to bite at Idril, its eyes burning with the hatred that looking into the face of your killer can cause...

Bite attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Bite damage: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 plus Sinful Bite (DC 12 Will)

... But the creature is too weak and fails to land his attack. Strained by the effort, the creature drops to -1 HP and begins bleeding out, collapsed on the ground.

Stabilization Attempt: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12

On its next turn, the creature will stabilize at -1 HP...

The Sinspawn in H9 turns one of its claws towards our boy Arthur, weakly scratching towards his face...

Claw attack: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14

Claw damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3

... and the claw glances harmlessly off of Arthur's armor. This creature also loses 1 HP due to the effort and drops to the ground dying. In six seconds it will attempt to stabilize.

Stabilization Attempt: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22

This Sinspawn will also stabilize top of round 5...

Fraadok, you are up for round 4 now.

The infernal healing continues to flow through Fraadok, knitting his wounds.
He looks at the sinspawn at his feet and feels a touch of satisfaction as he knows the creature will see Pharasma soon.

His head jerks slightly to the side and, "Let me speed you to her, vile creature," he suddenly says as he drops his shield and jams his spear with two hands into it's chest!

coup de grace, shortspear: 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 6) + 6 = 16

He then looks at his new companions, not seeming to be aware of his recent actions, "Does any one need any healing?"

You are standing amongst the many prison cells of this room. Some skeletons and bones and dust and stuff is in some of them. Two fine looking ranseurs lean against a wall. Obvious exits are east, south, and where you came from

With anxious eyes, Thalrik hurried down to the cells, softly calling for Rikka. Only a moment passed before the little mongoose came scurrying out of the darkness, running into Thalriks outstretched hands and hiding in the collar of his coat.

"Let us move forward quickly, this fight likely hasn't gone unnoticed." He motioned towards the corridor they had not yet taken ( F 11 ) "Someone keep a lookout and lets inspect these cells quickly."

Then she gives her bladed scarf a snap, flicking off any blood or ichor before wrapping it around her again. Then she takes out her mirror and fixes her hair until it's satisfactory again. Then she holds herself as she shudders. She points out the corpses.
"WHAT in the name of Desna WERE those... things?"

Fraadok pauses for a moment thinking before saying, "The only other things I remember from the tales by the fire are that they are capable of injecting a venom through its bite that causes one to succumb to the desires of a particular sin, Wrath in this case. And also that they are the embodiment of a sin made flesh, they are sentient abominations of distilled ectoplasm imprinted with the soul-image of slain creatures that possessed an abundance of a particular sin."

"I believe I may of temporarily succumbed to the poison of their bite, but the effects are wearing off," he concludes as he shakes his head, fighting off the last of the emotion of Wrath.

Ok, you all travel through the eastern doorway. It opens up into a long narrow hallway. Eventually it opens up into a dimly lit room about 15 by 20 feet.

This room contains several ancient relics of what appears to be torture implements, although their function and style seem strange and archaic. In one corner sits a spherical cage with spikes protruding inward from its iron bars. In another stands what appears to be a star-shaped wooden frame, its surface studded with hooks. And in the center of the room is a long table covered with leather straps and a number of cranks that seem designed to rotate and swivel.

Doors are located in the east and south walls.
