Wetscale |
If I've read them correctly, both Theodric's and Wetscale's histories place them in New Stetven just before taking up the call for the expedition, which pretty much matches Kern's backstory.
If previous connections are desirable between the players, I can see a pair or all three of them meeting there and heading south together...sort of an 'outcasts' vibe...
Not a bad idea. What would draw your transmuter worshiping Irori to associate with an alien in Gorum's temple? Wetscale doesn't care overly much for the Lord in Iron, but his people took him in, so by association, he's positively disposed. There could be some possible connection with the outlier Wetscale learned from at that temple as he likely also is an Iroriite. Other than that though, Wetscale is afraid of reprisal from House Medvyed in addition to the normal shunning he gets for being an outsider, so he avoids most areas with crowds.

Narrater |
Alexander grew up within the noble house of Lebeda. However his family was of a lower social strata then the main house. This forced his family to constantly work to prove themselves to the main house. In the hopes of gaining status and a measure of power. Alexanders father Barthalumu believed the best way to gain notice within the house was to create trade opportunities within markets that had remained untapped up to that point. He decided to attempt negotiations with some of the Orc tribes within the river kingdoms and brought his family with him, so sure of his success. Unfortunately the lands of the River Kingdoms proved too hostile and the tribes Barthalumu had hoped to negotiate with turned on him and his train of supplies. Most where killed in the fight but Alexander survived and was taken prisoner as slave labor.
Alexander spent nearly 3 years within the Orc tribe performing various labors It was during an errand that sent him to the Orc Adept that his life was to change for the better. As the Adept communed with spirits of stone and earth to enlist the aid of a ponderous but powerful entity. The spirit broke free when the adepts concentration was momentarily broken with Alexanders arrival. Angered by the summons the spirit took the opportunity and bound itself to Alexanders body as he entered the hut.
Alexander doesn't remember what happened after that but when he woke the Orc camp was in shambles and not a soul alive except him. Outwardly he looked the same with only minor wounds but the encounter had changed him on a fundamental level the earth spirit had left a bit of itself behind. Alexander found he could hear the very earth around him and that it responded in a limited fashion to his demands. Realizing he had to get away while he had the chance. Alexander put together what supplies he could find and left on foot. It took weeks in the wild but he eventually came on a Kellid tribe that traded with the Lebeda house and was able to barter transport back home. He received a tepid welcome from his kin who had not been receptive to Barthalumu's plan. They took him in for proprieties sake but Alexander felt very much an outsider and had even heard very vague rumors that some of the family had worked to undermine his father but he never found any definitive proof of such culpability.
Fully grown and with some mystic training under his belt Alexander heard of the expedition into the stolen lands and knew he had to join up. Not for his house but for himself to prove his mettle and that the River kingdoms can be tamed. Using all of the items inherited from his parents passing as collateral Alexander made his way to Restov Money in hand ready to purchase supplies for the expedition but he was tricked and lost most of his money in a con when attempting to purchase supplies forcing him to rely on his ingenuity to make up the significant short fall. Alexander has to wonder if this is intentional meddling by elements of his family but weather the set back was orchestrated or bad luck he is as resolute as ever to continue.
Alexander is a handsome man in his early twenties. With a healthy golden complexion and long brown hair normally held in a pony tail. Alexander usually wears the more practical cloths of an explorer with a Haramaki worn underneath to deflect attacks away from his vital areas.
Alexander has a easy going personality and tries to keep a calm exterior even in the face of difficult circumstance. The time spent as a slave in the Orc war camp changed Alexander beyond the manifestation of magic. He believes in being prepared and tries to have the right piece of equipment for the job on hand if possible and carries small useful items on his person hidden within the pockets of his cloths at all times such as easily carried food a habit he picked up as a slave since anything not hidden or on your person could be taken or stolen. Such eccentricities where frowned upon at court but it never stopped him. His time as a slave has made Alexander sensitive to the practice of slavery and he will likely strike out at any slaver even if it has to be indirectly.

Must have missed my submission? -> Alexander
Here is the crunch and fluff laid out on this page and on the characters page which is set up with an alias.
P33J |
gresch555 here. This is my alias for Theodric Lebeda, half-elf cavalier and bastard son of member of House Lebeda. Have his backstory and stats in the alias, but the mount isn't finished yet. How are you handling hit points after the first hit die? I ask since mounts start with 2 hd.
I'm not sure how DSP wants to handle mount HD as it would pertain to my character as well, but from the PFS rules:
Animal companions receive average hit points per hit die. For d8, the average is 4.5. Multiply 4.5 times the number of hit dice your animal companion has and round down. Recalculate hit points for your companion each time it gains additional hit dice. After its hit points are calculated, add in appropriate bonuses from its Constitution modifier, feats, and so on.
Marius du'Caat |
So to be clear, will we roll at first level or will we take max at first and then roll after, as we do with our PCs?
If we take max then my horse will start with 16 for HD + 4 for the CON scores (per HD) or 20 HP.
If we take max on the first and roll the second: 8 + 1d8 ⇒ 8 +4 for CON for a grand total of 20 because I'm insanely lucky.
Or we can do roll them all and we'll go 8 for that roll cause I'm keeping it (lol)! 8+1d8 ⇒ 3+4 = 15hp.
You just let me know :D

The most likely initial reason is idle curiousity ("See the amazing man-lizard that thinks it is worthy of Gorum!"). Kern is bright, however, and has been around soldiers for the past several years, and is a follower of Irori himself, so it seams reasonable he'd recognize a scientific fighting style in use rather than bestial slashing. A few words would be all it's likely to need to realize that Wetscale is more than he seems.
I'd presume at that point that they'd meet shortly after Kern's disastrous attempt to be recognized, and left together shortly thereafter to vie for a spot on the expedition.
Darksmokepuncher |
Gm you may have forgotten my submission (the orc who is not an orc) or is he missing something?
The only submissions being considered are posted under an alias with both crunch and a back story.
The Orc who is not an Orc was never posted under the proper alias.

Final tweakings are allowed after you are picked. In fact those chosen will have a little pow wow in the discussion thread before the game starts.
Lelouch Vi Orlovsky |
Well, your above post Shadow was 1.45pm in England (GMT) and we're 8 hours ahead of America's PST, so let's round it up to 2pm GMT and then we can see it would have been 7am for the guys in America's PST time then.
So, their 6.45 am is your 10.45pm. :)
So at midnight for GM DSP, it'll be 4pm for you and 8am for me.
Something like that at least. You're around 9 hours ahead of us in England, and around 16-17 hours or more ahead of the Americans who live with PST. :)
Tie My Shöelace |
Queesnland is 18 hours ahead of PST, which gives you until 6pm Friday to finish up your character.
EDIT:
Lelouch Vi Orlovsky |
Oh yea, also, if I make it into this, apart from roleplayed conversations, I'm going to post a lot less, as GM DSP has said it's a double edged sword, because with PBP's if you post too much, people will feel put off, so I'm going to do what I've done in the only campaign I'm playing in right now, and find that balance based on how often everyone else can post.
Still, it'll be fun!
Lelouch is a real team player in combat!
Also, I don't like being in more than two campaigns at a time, so if I make it into Kingmaker, that's it for me, until we either all die, players leave, the GM leaves, or we complete this campaign.
Mefika |
I'd like to throw in a character if there's still time. I'll roll up some stats and hopefully get my idea down quickly :)
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 6) + 6 = 17
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 4) + 6 = 16

2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 5) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 6 = 12
Mefika |
I guess that I'll just have to see what happens, hopefully I can be considered too. Running on Australian time over here so I didn't note the timeframe differences.
So I guess I need a re-roll for each set according to DM posts:
Set 1 - 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6) + 6 = 15
Set 2 - 2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 9
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 5) + 6 = 15
Tolias Vindar |
This is Mefika here, still need to work on skills and equipment for the crunch however I'll post up what I have currently and edit in the rest once it's completed.
Cresting up to the crown of the hill he pauses, sheathing the blade along his back and turning back to for one last view back along the path he had travelled. Shading his eyes he quickly finds the family homestead, already small in the distance that he has travelled in just one morning. Slowly grinning to himself he cups his hands, yelling back down to the plains "Next time we meet father I'll have my own stories to share by the fire, and nothing that involves any halfings breaking into any innkeeps cellars either!" far more softly, almost whispering he continues "I'll miss you old man, I promise you that we will be meeting again."
Feeling as though an unnoticed weight has been lifted off his shoulders Tolias starts off down the other side of the hill, softly whistling a comforting old tune to himself as he continues off southwards.

Lucius Baradain |
I've wanted to try this AQ for a long time. If there is still time, I'd like to submit this character who I designed for a Kingmaker game. (adjustments will be made this afternoon)
Set 1
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 2) + 6 = 12
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 10
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 2) + 6 = 14
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 1) + 6 = 8
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 2) + 6 = 9
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6) + 6 = 15
Set 2
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 6 = 17
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 3) + 6 = 11
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 6) + 6 = 16
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 4) + 6 = 16
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 6) + 6 = 15
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 6 = 13
Well that makes it easy, set #2.
Dano Thelbon |
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 99
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 4) + 6 = 1414
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 3) + 6 = 1212
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (5, 4) + 6 = 1515
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 6 = 1818
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (4, 5) + 6 = 1515
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 1) + 6 = 99
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (1, 3) + 6 = 1010
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 1) + 6 = 1313
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (2, 5) + 6 = 1313
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 6 = 1010
2d6 + 6 ⇒ (6, 6) + 6 = 1818
I'll take the first set for my bard.
My idea is a brevic bard who loves to tell tales and sing songs of the famous and infamous. Some of his songs are a bit colorful, while others will be ballads.
He'll be a melee bard when not casting, starting performances, etc.
Human, local, and fully believing in the swordlords.
GM DSP |
Thank you all for applying to this game. All of you produced thoughtful and interesting characters, but in the end, I could only take so many.
Those lucky 6 are:
Kern Therensgard
Cromwell Wist-Lebeda
Theodric Lebeda

Gliadel the Dancer
If you 6 would please head on over to the discussion thread, we will begin once we've all checked in.
