Kirk Spearborn |
"These tools are better suited for doors, I think." Kirk moves to the front, taking out his thieves tools again and inspecting the door.
This time it's a door, not more iron bars, right? If it's iron bars again, Kirk will let Pitr's clubbing technique do the trick
Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Disable Device 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (3) + 12 = 15 damn.
if it doesn't work, take 2:
Disable Device 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32
DM Zyren/ Heart of Light |
Correct, a door.
Kirk takes his time and after a first nervous failed attempt the door snaps open and a man with a turban made of bloody bandages rushes out of his cell and bumps right into Kirk.
Pleeeeeeeeeease! No..no nonononono NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO more more much no0 more many much Lobobobotomy! Oleg not babababababad!
Kirk Spearborn |
Kirk jumps back in revulsion, "Get the hell off of me," he growls, shoving the lunatic away from him back through the door.
Strength 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6 lol
Intimidate 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
"Where's Crove? Speak quickly, or we'll just have the kind demon-lady speak with your corpse." Kirk really doesn't like being caught off guard.
DM Zyren/ Heart of Light |
The booklet contains some simple erotic drawings, most probably it belongs to one of the orderlies...
The obviously lunatic and injured man seems unable to change his behaviour and yells on
Olololeg not wanTED to read the bobobobooooBOOK! Oleg is nice nicer nicest person of ALL! Not wanted not not not need not lobobobotomy, not not.
GM Harpwizard |
"Olololeg not wanTED to read the bobobobooooBOOK! Oleg is nice nicer nicest person of ALL! Not wanted not not not need not lobobobotomy, not not."
"Relax, mister!" Turning to Victoria, he asks, "Your Grace, would you be kind enough to deal with this madman?"
"Jendarne, what's that you are reading? Do you have some clues or insight into battling the Yog Sothoth?"
Pitr Jendarne |
"Jendarne, what's that you are reading? Do you have some clues or insight into battling the Yog Sothoth?"
"Yeah, I'm sure you could learn somehing from it." Pitr hands Solaric the dirty booklet. "Why do't you lights out the lunatic, Countess? He's giving me a headache."
are we looking for the Pnak Manuscript?
GM Harpwizard |
""Yeah, I'm sure you could learn somehing from it."
"Jendarne! What are you doing with this?! We are suppose to be looking for clues! Perhaps you could save this sort of thing for later when you are alone or with Swan."
Listening to the Lunatic, Solaric tries to make the connection.
"Johenric do you think he is referring to that tome we have? You know, the Pnakotic Manuscripts. Wait a moment, he may not be as crazy as we think."
DM Zyren/ Heart of Light |
You mean the lunatic, right?
The man nods eagerly, grabs your left hand and holds it tight. With rolling eyes he replies
Yes me OOOOOOOOOOOOleg...good thief, nice not bad- me good not bad and thief am I! I found book, it's mine, now it's gone, Crove has it..ororororor do you have it? My book? The old book?
GM Harpwizard |
Yes, the lunatic. Thanks!"
"Crove? Where is Crove?"
"Patience, my friend. We are very close to some important information. Let's all stay relaxed here."
Turning back to Oleg, Solaric asks, "I have seen this book you described. You claim to be a thief. Where did you find this book? Who did Oleg take it from?"
DM Zyren/ Heart of Light |
The man backs away from Kirk and presses himself close to Solaric's side
Oleleleg found it fafafaFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFar below the citity! He ...no I! Goes there often - often yes yes. He finds many lots much unlimited plentiful things there, you know? Book also also also - meets Crove when going back - Crove mad, he monster, yes yes, monster.
GM Harpwizard |
"What do you mean that Crove is a monster? People have described him as a kind and reasonable man. Explain yourself!"
"What do you mean by 'meets Crove when going back'? Did Oleg meet Crove below the city? Far below the city? Is Crove down below the city right now?!"
DM Zyren/ Heart of Light |
Oleg hops up and down and pokes out his tongue at Kirk
Yeeeeheeees! Oleg met Crorororove under the citity when he found the boo-hook! Crove robbed it and made things things things things to Oleg's head! Crove now where is? Me not know! But he not live long, he scared of .....it!
And suddenly there is a rumbling that makes the dust fall off the walls. Oleg smiles like a cheshire cat now and mumbles Judgement time...di-do-da....
GM Harpwizard |
"Where, where, where?!!!!! By the blessed Inheritor, tell us where his room is!!!! Quick lead us there!
Solaric does everything in his patience that he possibly can to get Oleg to reveal the answer, including gesturing for him to indicate which door to go through.
Meanwhile, is Solaric able to hear the general direction of the Yog Sothoth?
DM Zyren/ Heart of Light |
Oleg rolls with his eyes again, then his expressions lightens up
Where his room is? Oh, I show you! HAHAHAHA!
Oleg sprints away, right into the southern corridor and around the corner. As he passes under the second separation, it comes crashing down right behind him, separating you from him.
The rumbling has meanwhile become a constant sensation and you tumble around as the whole dungeons begins to shake.
GM Harpwizard |
"I am feeling trapped like a rat here and the cat is coming! Here, let's try the keys given to me by the orderly above. Blessed Inheritor, let these work!"
Solaric takes the ring of keys given to him by the orderly and tries quickly to open the lock with the keys.
GM Harpwizard |
"Of all the times to be searching for a key to match a lock! Imagine, the fate of Golarion resting upon something so insignificant as a simple key!"
Perception Check 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12
"Oh dear, they all look so similar!"
"Blessed Inheritor! I Solaric, your humble servant, ask for your guidance in selecting the key that will allow us to pass through this door! Let me choose one such that we reach Waldur Crove in haste that we may fulfill your will in this world!"
Choosing the Right Key 1d100 + 2 ⇒ (94) + 2 = 96
Using divine inspiration from the Inheritor, Solaric inserts the key into the key hole of the iron door, turns the key and pushes the door open.
"Iomedae be praised! It worked! Follow me, my friends, we have a meeting with Crove to attend!"
DM Zyren/ Heart of Light |
Luckily Solaric finds the right key and so you are able to follow Oleg through the corridors, past dozens of cells with moaning and screaming lunatics in it. You feel that you aren't the only ones who sense that something is about to happen.
After a minute that feels like hours Oleg stops in front of a double door, but before he is able to explain anything, the tolling of an alarm bell upstairs is audible, maybe Crove also knows that the tremors shaking the asylum don't have natural reasons.
Here Crove, here Crove!
Oleg jumps up and down and frantically points at the door.
DM Zyren/ Heart of Light |
Sorry for the delay, had to do some scanning.
Solaric opens the door and while the rumbling and shaking of the whole complex continues and the bell still tolls you meet a very relaxed Waldur Crove in his study.
So you've come to kill me, you ignorant bastards?
he snarls as the paladin enters.
Johenric |
Johenric shouts behind Solaric.
I suppose Mr. Crove you are playing on the same side as the Yog Sothoth...
and then he whispers to the Karcaus Chosen, especially to Solaric.
If he is in supporting the Yog Sothoth, we better do not loose more time!
And then he waits for Solaric to react.
GM Harpwizard |
"Watch your tongue, Master Crove! However, if you do believe we are ignorant, then I would like to be enlightened. So tell us, why have you summoned a Yog Sothoth to this land?"
Solaric is ready to pounce and kill the man at a moments notice if he senses that the man is about to flee or if the tentacles of the Yog Sothoth appear.
Sense Motive 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25
DM Zyren/ Heart of Light |
Why? Hah! Because I wanted to control his powers! I will become the master of time and space, I will be immortal and unbelievably powerful! Can't you feel it? He's about to come, this will be the moment of my triumph, my orderlies and my little baby will soon be here and kill this monster!
And indeed, you can hear people rushing down the stairs next to you.
