Zaladrel Orain |
Sensing the tension and the need to strke Zal will charge after Ulf hoping to end the threats of the wakeful corbies quickly.
Attack; Damage 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 71d8 ⇒ 3
Sorry for my infrequent posting the last few weeks I have been sick and this dman crap keeps resurging.
Zaladrel Orain |
Zal will try to take the best possible tactical maneuver he can and will strike at his foe. (I'll try to flank something if I can)
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 171d8 ⇒ 6
Úlfheðinn Sigmundarson |
Úlf grins over to Omara, resisting the urge to give a shout of triumph as they fell the corby together. That foe vanquished, he quickly steps forward to the one that remains conscious and in one swift, smooth motion, his axe turns from the diagonal swipe on the first monster to a horizontal, waist-high slash on the second.
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Damage: 1d12 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14
Zaladrel Orain |
Hey Runa and Cinder help tie this corby up!
Lissa Tesarani |
Lissa bends down to help Zaladrel with the bindings.
Assist another to help Zal, unless something else happens to make me change my mind before my init count. Btw, how many more corbies are there, and what roll do I make to tie a rope since Use Rope got lost in PF?
Úlfheðinn Sigmundarson |
Úlf grabs the corby by its' beak, holding it tightly shut in his hand as he looks menacingly down into the creature's beady eyes and says in a low, threatening voice,"You listen to Úlf, crow. I let go your break and we have talk. Nice, quiet talk. We ask questions, you answer. You cry out, you make any sound I think is too loud, and the last thing to pass through your throat will be the blade of my axe. Is clear?" he says to the tied up corby, placing his axe-blade against its throat and pressing it slightly into its feathers.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
*sigh* Wow. Well, I'm being consistent at least. My last five die rolls have been three 1s and two 14s.
Runa |
Runa will try her various languages to see if there might be one which will allow them to talk to the creature, otherwise she suggest that they dispose of the creature and move on. Also, if no one else has already, she will cheak the bodies of the corbies.
She speaks Aklo, Common, Hallit, Skald and Tien.
Runa |
Runa sneers down at the creature. In Alko she says, "A little bird like you seems far from its nest. What are you doing out here little bird. Come now, cat's got your tongue?? Well if not now, then soon...so talk!!
Intimidate: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21
Ok wow...I did not expect her to actually roll so well...
Zaladrel Orain |
*nods in agreement at the questioning directions*
DM Wellard |
The Corbie tells you there are many off his brothers. It's obvious he has no real ability to count beyond a handful
The Biggies, he says, are big ugly folk taller than a man and very violent. There are only three or four off them led by a female called Matilduh. The Master wasn't pleased when they arrived but let them stay when he saw how good they were at fighting...which they do all the time beating on each other if there is no enemy present.
The stinky ones well they stink basically and have scales
The Master he describes as amighty warrior whose feathers are blacker than the deepest night and who rules through fear.
The B*tch would appear to be a Harpy from the description given by your captive.
Runa |
Smiling, Runa ask a final question, "Now then, my friend, are there any other ways into the keep? We do not wish to be set upon by your flock, nor the Biggies or Stinky ones. Could you perhaps sketch a map of the interior for us and mark where each group is located?"
Ok I might be pushing it with the last request!! LOL Anyone else have any questions??
DM Wellard |
The corbie does not know of any way in or out off the Castle except by the front gate. He does tell you however that he and his two companions were the gate guards and are expected to return in two to three hours time..
This would suggest that at the least you could get into the gatehouse without being seen .
Zaladrel Orain |
If they were the gate guards where were they going?
Zaladrel Orain |
Well what should we do with this one? Tie it up and stash it somewhere? Tell it to run and never come back?
Úlfheðinn Sigmundarson |
"I do not think it can be trusted to simply run. We should tie up and leave here. When we return after mission is successful, we give him opportunity to run. While I am no fan of letting him walk away, he has not wronged us and I do not wish the blood of a prisoner on my hands."
Omara Dalaston |
"I am with Ulf on this," says Omara, looking at the corbie. "We should leave him where he will not be easily found. If they were gate guards and they are out here, then the gatehouse should be clear. We should check it out before they are missed."
DM Wellard |
Going to move this along.
After some discussion you stash your prisoner in the back room off the Smithy and make your way up the hill to the gatehouse.the cavernous portal stands open and, knowing that the guards that should have been there have already been taken care off..No sign of life is seen on the ramparts.
Entering the large irregularly shaped room you see a gate similar to the one you just entered on the other side. It appears to lead to a Courtyard.
To either side off this gate a wooden ladder ascends to the roof
Omara Dalaston |
Omara will sneak up on the corbie, drawing her rapier and attempt to quietly dispatch him.
Stealth 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
Attack 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Damage 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7
Sneak Attack 1d6 ⇒ 5
Sorry this is taking so long, everyone.
Zaladrel Orain |
it bothers me she's probably stealing my xp! No good roguely types ;)
DM Wellard |
Omara
Corbie Perception1d20 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
Initiative
Omara 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
Corbie1d20 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
You manage to move up behind the Corbie and stab it in the back..the birdman does not fall to the surprise blow however but you get a second chance to stab him before he can react and he falls without uttering a sound.
Omara1d20 + 6 ⇒ (13) + 6 = 19 Damage including sneak attack2d6 + 1 ⇒ (4, 4) + 1 = 9
Looking down towards the Smithy you realise you forgot to hide the bodies and yet they are no longer in sight. A harsh call from your left draws your attention to a second Corbie on the walkway on the far side off the gatehouse about 60 feet away..they must be patrolling the walls something your'friend' forgot to tell you
2nd Corbie Initiative1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Omara Dalaston |
Was the call loud enough to alert anyone in the castle? Could the other party members hear it?
If the call was loud enough, Omara will rush back to the ladder, climb down and warn the others.
If the call was not loud enough, she will move to stand between the ladder and the corbie and call down for help.
