"You speak wisdom, Ulf. I, too, shall remain on the ground floor. Zaladrel! Byddwn yn galw os bydd angen i chi; cymryd gofal i wneud yr un peth, pe bai'r angen yn codi!"
He takes a cue from Lissa, and begins to examine the ground floor more closely.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18

Úlfheðinn Sigmundarson |

Úlf glances to Namuril and gives a quick bark of laughter. "First time I ever hear someone calling the words from my mouth wisdom! They are usually called something a bit less polite." he answers the elf.

Tavlor Losh |

Tavlor sits quietly, not quite willing to rush into potential danger at the moment. He seems to be contemplating his hands again.
Was it real? Was it a vision? He shakes his head slightly making his hand into a fist. It doesn't make any sense. I'm a nobody, I can't do what they ask.
As he is remembering what happened when he had been hurt, his fist begins to glow brightly and the same euphoric feeling he had before runs up his arm and through his whole body, causing a slight glow that quickly fades away.
Heavenly fire: 1d4 ⇒ 1 hp healed.
Woah... guess that's two uses for whatever that is.

Runa |

Runa moves into the room and examines the halfling.
Healing: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Once checked over, she calls to the others "I believe that I have found Mr. Proudstump. I will need help removing him from this room and taking him to his bed."

Zaladrel Orain |

Zaladrel sheathes his sword and moves forward to help Runa pull the halfling off the floor. Navigating the narrow doorway and the hall the pair work together to carry him gingerly and place him on his bed. Looking up at Runa, I differ to you as a practiced healer in these matters, what should we do next?

Namuril Xae-Tal |

Namuril smiles at Ulf. "Well, none are all-wise concerning everything under the sun. I'd wager there's much you could teach others; common sense is sometimes the best wisdom, oft overlooked."
After Runa calls down concerning the real Proudstump, he claps Ulf on the shoulder. "I believe the halfling we've been searching for is found. I'll bring some water upstairs, if you don't mind."
As he ascends the stairs, Namuril digs his waterskin out of his backpack. When he reaches Omara, he hands it to her. "Hopefully, this will quench what thirst he may have."

Omara Dalaston |

Omara kneels down by the bed, so as not to tower over him. "We are from Sandpoint. We came here seeking help with the goblins in the swamp, but we found that creature impersonating you instead. We drove it off and found you locked in your hiding place. Runa here" she indicates to Runa "brought you around and that is where things stand now."

Runa |

Runa nods as Omara describes the events that brought them here. She gently helps the halfling to sit up so he can drink the water Omara received from Namuril. Once this is complete, she and Tofa step out of the room, so others can enter and question the halfling. She wanders down stairs to sit and wait.

Zaladrel Orain |

Zaladrel will also kneel by the bed. You are still weak, my halfling friend. Please let me know if you need more aid. What Omara says is true, we came for questions and found combat instead. Do you know why this thing attacked you and took your place?
Zaladrel will make it a point of not trying to linger too long on the halfling, conscious that Elven eyes can be disconcerting.

DM Wellard |

"I do not know whay it attacked me..I was in the garden feeding my snakes when it came over the wall..it looked just like I do and it caught me by surprise. My snakes attacked it and I landed some good hits before it managed to pin me down..it was draining my blood but the poison must have weakened it because I was able to break free and make it to my safe room

Omara Dalaston |

"It did seem weak and injured when it answered the door. We injured it some more and it ran off into the swamp. I do not think it will return." She puts her hand on Zaladrel's shoulder, "Zaladrel, here is a priest of Desna. He will help you recover. The rest of us will wait downstairs until you are ready."
If she is not needed, she will join the others downstairs.

Zaladrel Orain |

Well, I think it safe to say that you have been through more than any person should have to deal with in their own home. Zaladrel will attempt to explicitly put Proudstump at ease.Diplomacy: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 Seeing that his attempts at bedside diplomacy are awkward at best Zaladrel will cough lightly and turn his head to the hallway.
Namuril anfon hyd Tavlor neu Lissa os gwelwch yn dda fy ngeiriau yn syrthio allan o fy ngheg gydag anhawster. O, a chymorth parod aa gofod er mwyn i ni ddod i lawr ac yn siarad yn gyfforddus.
Turning back to the halfling Zaladrel will shift on his legs slightly and reach forward, I think it best I aid your healing further, to bring back your vitality, you have been through quite a bit of abuse Zaladrel speaks the words of power and feels the blessings of Desna pass from his body and change to healing energy for Proudstump. Drop Bless for CLW. Roll: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
There now how do you feel?

Úlfheðinn Sigmundarson |

Úlf, hearing the sound of footsteps on the stairs, turns and sees Runa descending. He steps to the side to allow her to pass, offering a nod as she does. "Jeg gjetter at du fant halvingen oppe fra lyden av ting, i live. Det er bra. Det ville ikke gjøre for ham å ha falt til en så dyr som den var. Andre kan kalle ham gal, men han har plass her ... han er viktig. Det er bra du var i stand til å helbrede ham. "
He looked back toward the kitchen, maintaining his watch, his brow furrowing. "Hmph. It is unfortunate that we failed to put the beast down, once and for all. I hope that it does not come back to make more headache for us later.

Lissa Tesarani |

"I'll have another look around, just in case that thing is still lurking around here somewhere." Lissa walks back downstairs, drawing her sword. That eery feeling creeps up her spine; she subconsciously feels like she is being watched. She visibly shudders and continues to search around the bottom floor for the creature.
Perception around the lower floor 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
She continues to search, frustrated at her inability to find anything.

Namuril Xae-Tal |

"Mae'n cael ei wneud." Namuril nods at Zaladrel and heads back down the stairs. After looking around a bit, he clears some room in the common room that may accomodate Proudstump.
Namuril then heads to the garden, looking for some of Proudstump's snakes.
I'll look for some of the snakes and attempt to calm them (they're his pets, right?).
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
Wild Empathy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Runa |

Runa smiles at the big warrior. "Thank you for your kind words, brother. The little one is resting, and the priest should be able to heal any further pains he has."
As she is resting, Runa watches the beautiful woman searching the rooms for any sign of trouble. She scratches Tofa on his head, between his still erect ears. He, too, is still watchful.

DM Wellard |

@Zaladrel where do you get 1d20+6 for your CLW?
1d8 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Proudstumps bruising fades and he is able to move from the bed. he walks slowly to the dresses opens a drawer and pulls out a potion bottle which he sinks. His bruising vanishes..
"Ah that's better" he says as he cricks his neck.."Now to business..perhaps I can cook you a meal while we talk."
He makes his way down stairs nodding to each off you
Namuril doesn't spot any snakes.

Zaladrel Orain |

@Zaladrel where do you get 1d20+6 for your CLW?
1d8+3
Whoops! I get that in the magical land of counting my wisdom score as my caster level and thinking I am rolling a skill. Epic fail! Sorry about that.
Zaladrel will follow the halfling down the stairs. We don't wish to trouble you. Zaladrel hesitates for a moment and recalls his shameful last minute purchase of trail rations the night before. Realizing his hunger after the adrenaline of fighting Zaldrel smirks slightly, Though I must concede the idea of a homemade meal does sound appealing! Zaladrel follows the halfling into the kitchen a slight gleam in his eye at the prospect of freshly cooked food.

Runa |

Runa looks up from tending to her fox, and watches the elf and the halfling come down the stairs and disappear into the kitchen-area. He seems much better now, which is good, she thinks. I hope he is well enough to point us in the right direction.
DM: What time of day is it?

Namuril Xae-Tal |

Namuril nods at Proudstump as he descends the stairs with Zaladrel. "Greetings, Mister Proudstump. I trust you are feeling better, now?"
"I don't know if your snakes dwell within your home or without, but I haven't been successful in drawing them in. I hope your home isn't in too much disarray."

Zaladrel Orain |

Sanpoint has become quite concerned with the Lick Toads. The.use of these fireworks and the boldness it has given the goblins raises much concern. Others have braved the marsh to find the goblins and have not returned. We are eager to help and were told that you might have insight into how to navigate the marsh and find the goblins.

Úlfheðinn Sigmundarson |

Úlf draws in a deep breath, taking in the smell of the fish cooking in the kitchen, and his stomach rumbles. How long had it been since they'd left Sandpoint...? He wasn't sure, but either way, he certainly hadn't expected to run into a pack of goblins and whatever ugly critter it was that had accosted them at the door to Proudstump's place. Deciding that it was relatively safe now, and that he'd be better served as a guard by being where everyone else was, he follows Runa into the kitchen, though rather than sit at the table, he steps to the side of the entryway, leaning against the wall and placing his axe beside him, the head of the weapon on the floor. "We already ran into three goblins on way here...or they find us. Anyway, Tavlor shot one with white fire and it blew up...I killed another. Last goblin ran away."

DM Wellard |

"Let me think..two..no..nearer three weeks ago there was a big fire to the south of here in the middle of the night..after that the Licktoads started getting uppity. For thelast 3 or 4 days though I haven't seen any off them and that's unusual..not that they bother me much they stay clear of snakes"

Runa |

Runa tried to keep her attention on the conversation, but the rumble from Ulf's stomach kept distracting her. Finally, after a particularly loud gurgle, Runa reached into her pack and, rummaging around a bit, came out with a large apple. Elbowing the giant warrior in his grumbling stomach she hands it to him.
"Du må holde opp din styrke! Spis dette, så får noe av det fisk! Det ville ikke å skremme alle Goblin er borte med rumlende mage.'

Úlfheðinn Sigmundarson |

Úlf nods to Tavlor as he comes to stand with him, his smile turning to a grimace as his stomach voices its displeasure with its vacuous state with annoying regularity. When Runa approaches to offer an apple, he laughs, accepting it graciously. "Dette er sant, søster! Denne reisen ville ha litt moro hvis det ikke var flere nisser å drepe!"
With that, he takes a big bite out of the apple, the fresh fruit giving a satisfying crunch. "I have heard rumors..." he begins, then swallows the bite of apple, "of this Soggy Bottom Monster. I have not ever thought much of it, though. Fishermen always tell stories. Do you think there is more to this one?"

DM Wellard |

"I have not seen the beast you refer to with my own eyes..but it has taken men..and I have found tracks..whatever it is is not Human..or goblin for it has taken them too. "
"As to the fireworks..those did not start until after the fire I spoke off I would suggest that you search there first. There might be a clue or two left. There are no tracks into that part of the swamp..If you wish, I can guide you there."

Namuril Xae-Tal |

As Proudstump cooks the fish, Namuril's mouth begins to water; he hasn't eaten since breakfast, and just now realizes how hungry he is. He forces himself to quit watching Proudstump's cooking long enough to turn his attention to the halfling.
"What else can you tell us of this fire? Do you have any idea as to what caused it? How far is this place you speak of, and have you viewed the site yourself?"
Namuril smirks at himself, offering a conciliatory gesture.
"I apologize for the barrage of questions; it appears that my hunger has taken the sense out of my tongue. Please, feel free to answer at your leisure."

Namuril Xae-Tal |

"Yes, they do indeed like a blazing fire! I'd hope their fascination with burning would simply destroy the lot of them--and good riddance--were it not such a danger to kinder folk. Do you know, perchance, where such fire-works might be manufactured? I, myself, don't have much knowledge of these devices."
