So:
Human Summoner (Synthesist)
Human Witch (Healing)
Human Sorcerer (Celestial)
Human Fighter (Two-Handed)
Human Rogue (Swashbuckler)
Elf Ranger (Guide)
Elf Cleric (Desna/Subdomains)
Look right?
No strict arcanists but enough diversity we should be all right. Some good healing overlap. Fights could get messy if we don't coordinate at lower levels (in that a lot of us are more fragile than not) but a decent mix of options. I like this group, I'm looking forward to this game!

Heh.
@Rhys Grey - your "devotee of fine wine" line caught me totally off guard. I ended up half choking on my oatmeal. I though it was pretty funny.
Wow I feel silly I just realized I could feed the ooc and PbP threads into my Google reader feed to stay on top of them better. *shakes head* You would think I would have noticed that earlier.

How is this Google Reader feed thing done? Not that I'd be able to use it most of the time anyway...some of my responses today were from work, where many Google things are blocked but Paizo's site has miraculously managed to avoid being firewalled despite the categories of message boards, gaming, personal, and online shopping sites all being blocked.

You're very welcome, sir! *dramatic bow*
I'm having fun with the interaction, so far; my character is truly evolving as I go along. It's kinda funny how that works (originally, I was going to go with a cavalier; I think it shows in Namuril's dialogue. Oh, well . . . his father was a knight, so it makes sense, I guess).

It should work with any RSS feed program honestly, there are some others that are both web and desktop based. At the top of the page for each thread is an orange icon that say "recent posts" next to it. Copy the link from that, paste it into your RSS reader of choice and then the post from the thread will post in the reader.
For me its easier than keeping track of the site when I am at work and since I have an android phone I get notifications and what not so it just helps me keep an eye on things when I am not at a terminal already.

I agree it is a fun interaction, you come across all "noble elf" and I come across sort of weirdo flighty elf. Its quite the spectrum, just what we need to keep those humans on their toes...

A bit of a noob question, but I have noticed people making perception rolls....how do you go about that?? Do I just roll and post the number, or do you (the DM) roll for me?? And if I have questions for an NPC to I just pose them to you? Like if I wish to ask someone about the swamp? Sorry ..just new to this...but having a great time!!

If you click the "show" button beneath the posting window you sould see this line:
"1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 61d6 + 100d6 - 3d6 + 4d6d6 ⇒ (4) + (2, 4, 5, 1, 6, 3, 6, 2, 5, 3, 1, 1, 2, 3, 6, 2, 3, 1, 1, 2, 1, 5, 1, 2, 2, 1, 5, 3, 3, 1, 2, 3, 6, 5, 1, 5, 4, 3, 3, 3, 6, 5, 5, 5, 3, 1, 3, 1, 1, 6, 3, 4, 5, 5, 4, 1, 3, 5, 3, 2, 3, 2, 1, 1, 1, 5, 5, 2, 3, 2, 2, 6, 2, 6, 5, 3, 4, 3, 2, 1, 5, 1, 5, 5, 5, 5, 4, 2, 4, 4, 3, 2, 2, 3, 1, 1, 6, 6, 2, 4) - (2, 6, 5) + (1, 6, 3, 4, 3, 6, 4, 5, 3, 2, 4, 6, 5, 6, 4) = 3711d3d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 3) + 4 = 11
The system rolls for you. And its pretty smart, you can't try to re-edit your post for better rolls it will remember what you rolled before and so on.
Obviously DM Wellard has final say but I think you basically would just indicate who Runa is talking to and then write up dialog per usual. Ulf just said it out loud and didn't really indicate who he was speaking to but I think that made sense in the context of everybody in the bar talking at us. My 2 cp anyway.

sorry, i'm having a hard time keeping everyone straight including backgrounds if i should know them at all. Just so i know, having grown up in the church, who should i know already?
YEah I get what you mean, with so many people being from Sandpoint its hard to get a feel for who you know or don't.
I wrote Namuril into Zaladrel's history so I wouldn't have to worry about it and otherwise Zaladrel isn't *from* Sandpoint but stops there on occasion. I think for those of you who have been in town on a more permanent basis it at the very least makes sense that you know about each other even if you don't actually hang out.
All that said. I forgot that Tavlor grew up in the church so he and Zaladrel certainly would have a passing knowledge of each other since Zaladrel is a cleric of Desna and is attached to Koya Mvashti who undoubtedly works with the folks at the Sandpoint Chapel when she is not on the road. I would say you probably know about Zaladrel (that he is an oddly Varisian like elf who is pretty into his faith) but probably don't know his history in the most intimate sense. Zaladrel has a pretty big mouth though so you can take a wide liberty with what you feel like Tavlor does or does not know. The only two things that Zaladrel doesn't speak of at length is the death of his family and the specific hallucinations and dreams he suffered that led to him meeting Koya.

I would say that since Lissa has lived in Sandpoint her entire life, you would more than likely know her at least in passing if nothing else.

Tavlor would probably also have knowledge of Úlf as well, since he has been in Sandpoint for the last six years. It's unlikely they'd have had much interaction, but he may have seen him in passing or heard of him, at the very least.
DM Wellard |
I would think most off you would know each other by sight even if not good friends.Everyone would know who Lissa's mother is for instance( the downside of being the child of the towns only brothel owner. Some of you might have been to school together the Turandock Academy teaches all the children of Sandpoint at some time in their lives.
@Runa...talking to NPC's is like Devon said just act as if you were adressing the question to the NPC in question and I'll answer as them...I suspect that Ilsoari is going to get a late night knock on his door.

DM Wellard, according to the player's guide, having the Childhood Crush (Shalelu) trait allows me to know one category of gifts that she is particularly fond of. Can we request to know what category our character knows about?
Well I just want to say that I think you guys have gotten off to a flying start and I'm looking forward to being your GM
I'm really looking forward to playing with this group. I've never done a PbP before and I know we've only just started, but I'm having a blast so far!
Omara Dalaston |
I chose Crush as it was the only trait that seemed to fit Omara. I would have taken Hero Worship, but the mechanics just didn't fit. For most of her life, her grandfather held the title of "Most Awesome Person." He was the one she looked up to, and whose good opinion she valued most. When he died, that left a void that Omara subconsciously filled with Ameiko. I guess it's more of a "girl crush" than a romantic one. That's not to say Omara would be opposed to a romance. The possibility simply hasn't occurred to her. Some other character may capture her heart before that happens. But, even then, she will still seek Ameiko's good will and approval. The same things that would make Tavlor feel all tingly and excited would make Omara feel confident and encouraged. The mechanics of the trait are the same, but the romance aspect isn't there. At least, not yet.
Lissa Tesarani |
Hmm interesting potential romantic triangle there.
With the Best Friend: Ameiko trait and both of these two having crushes on her, I get the distinct feeling I'm going to get called in to help mediate some potential emotional crises on several fronts.

I was thinking that too..it has all the makings of a Shakespearean drama..lets hope it's one of the comedies

There's no need to rush, but I'd like to say: I'm waiting for morning (in-game) to happen before I post on the game thread again. I'm only relaying this so that you guys don't think I've dropped out; I didn't post yesterday because Namuril was asleep! I just want you all to know that I am still available for this.
Again, no rush! :)

Suppose I should add my own sig to this, also. Just waiting for in-game morning, but no hurry!

I wasn't worried guys I'm not the type who insists on you posting daily unless we are in a combat situation then I do like you to post as frequently as you are able to.
As long as you give me at least 24 hours notice of any time you won't be available we're cool
Excellent!
I am really enjoying the party's interaction, thus far. I'm looking forward to some marsh-exploration!

Just so you know then, Wellard, starting on the 17th I'm going to be starting back work and will be doing 6 strait days in the box. The most high-tech thing I'll be around will most likely be a light bulb. I'll let you know about any other gaps that might occur after that as I get informed of them. It's an on-call job, so...

I'm trying really hard to imagine what you might do for a living...so rather than tax my brain can I just ask; what do you do for a living?
