Daemon begins moving down the chosen corridor, and is relieved when his life-sense does not pick up bunking priests. The first room that you come to has an open portal, and contains some tables and makings for food and drink.
Moving on or investigating?
Just so you know - the mention was not aimed at you in any way. It was more a mild reminder to the other party members that you hadn't been included in their plans.
If we get to a combat situation I can DMPC if you like?

In a brief moment where it seems that the very laws of physics hang suspended in the air, your actions are subsumed beneath the will of a merciless power beyond the stars.
Daemon walks past the first room to the end of the corridor and finds a room that has a marked circle on the floor. Noting a scroll on the side of the chamber he is compelled to read it aloud and suddenly you hear a slight pop followed by a rush of air.
You all open your eyes and find that you are within the summoning chamber within the cathedral. Daemon shakes his head as though recovering from a walking dream and you steel yourself to move deeper into the cathedral.
*cough* - carry on then men

apologies for going MIA yesterday, computer went down for a bit, thanks for getting the party back together, I was beginning to feel like a bit of a spotlight hog. Someone else may lead if they wish
"Ah! Good, I was just wondering how on earth I was going to get everyone back together again."

Gathroc takes the sudden teleportation in stride. He's several thousand years old, not much mundane magickal occurrences surprise him any more.
DM, odd question: Could Vesta "possess" me without any ill effects if I willingly allow her? sort of as a shared existence temporarily? Vesta, if that's possible, would you be willing to do that?

Potentially, but why?

Admittedly, this is probably not even possible, but it seemed interesting. What I was thinking was to have Vesta posses me, so as to combine her magickal senses with his physical body and prowess. Only question would be what happens to Gathroc's mind/soul while possesed. Like I said, not sure how possible this is.

            Basically works like THIS
But Gathroc would be 'supressed' while Vesta possessed you, and unable to take any actions.
While Vesta would get a physical boost - it would be less powerful than the two of you acting separately.

Vesta detects a twin set of magical alarms tied to the lock mechanism. One would sound audibly and the second would send a silent message to someone within the monastery.
Beyond the door it is difficult to segregate and identify what lies there. A soupy melange of all schools and applications of magic is all you can discern from this side of the portal.

Gathroc looks to his diminuative companion "Was picking the lock beyond your abilities? No matter, I shall take care of this." With that he grips his blade with both hands and smashes the door down.
"Lets not forget the need for stealth." Vests says

Gabriel manages to cool the headless horseman in time to allow him to tinker with the lock and coax it open.
The door swings outwards and you gain access to the library proper. There are rows and rows of bookcases and books present. The shelves seem reasonably ordered though there are many of them. On the side of each shelf appears a small series of numbers.
On the far opposite wall there are a few reading desks set up, as well as a larger working desk at one side.

"Damon, start going through the desk and I'll do a detect magic sweep of the books." Vesta detects magic looking for glory books.
