First off I don’t see it as utterly ridiculous. Lamm is indeed the architect of woe for all the group and motivator to bring us all together. And yes we are the “good guys” but my character’s religion and archtype are built around redemption and clemency. It would be the easiest thing in the world for me to just go “heh – he’s a bad guy let’s kill him…move on to the next one” –but if you notice Mercy is dealing NL damage in most of her attacks – and had Lamm been killed outright she would have reacted accordingly.
So while I understand your concerns, I don’t agree it’s an issue – to me the massive challenge is playing a half orc paladin of Sarenrae – being faithful to the class, archtype and game faith without her coming across as preachy or self-righteous.
Not sure what everyone else thinks – but if it’s going to be a huge issue, then I’ll exit stage left. This is after all a game, something we do for enjoyment and to challenge our imaginations and creativity. Think we all have enough headaches in RL without making more here in games…

If I recall correctly, the only person you killed almost killed two of you. The rest were knocked unconscious from NL or Lethal, but were stable.
Sorry to take the air out of your argument, Waydon, but really the only thing you killed upstairs was a mangy cur.
Not trying to be argumentative, but as the GM, I feel that it's part of my job to let you know when your making an argument, in or out of character, based on false information.

We swing swords at people with lethal intent. Within game terms this may not always kill them but that doesn't mean we aren't trying to kill them. One critical hit and we could've outright killed any of them. We did not know who they were and I don't remember hearing anything about cold blooded murder. We ran in a room and started swinging with lethal intent. It's D&D.

I'm loath to get drawn into this further as not convinced we're going to get anywhere... however "It's D&D" is a double edged sword; the game is not just about combat, but also about roleplaying, dramatics, flair, imagination and so much more. Characterisation is something I love and I'm sure the way Mercy, Veklen et al come across as individuals will be honed over time as this game runs. Hel we've only just begun this epic!
Fine killing Lamm makes perfect sense on one level, but Waydon is a NG individual whose lost son has been returned to him... sure he's got a beef with the kidnapper and corrupter but would he kill to the detriment of the others in the group who need answers, need closure etc.
Anyway I'm closing the book on this from my pov. For what its worth I love Waydon as a character - offers a great counterbalance to some of the others and faces some huge decisions now he has his son back - what next for that family? Great RP opportunities to come - so lets get to it nei?

It's D&D, but within D&D there are different playstyles. I tend to set my RP vs wargaming meter at 65/35, but if that's not how the group falls out, I can recalibrate.
RP-wise, Kishta is firmly in Mercy's court, due to their shared background. Had Mercy been a different kind of character, and argued for torture and horrible death, then Kishta might have gone there. As far as she is concerned, the *important* issue is the well-being of the children. Which is why she so strongly backed Waydon when the children had not yet been rescued
I'll also say -- I've been enjoying everyone's contribution thus far.

All good man - Mercy is going to be tough to square off RPwise... bottom line is she has to work round the common view and not ignore it...

I have some bad news.
I've been thinking about what I have left over the next month and a half and I don't think I'll be able to keep GMing this game or my other one. I need to focus on school and trying to run two games, or even one game, is not going to work with that.
I'm really sorry. I should have known batter than to try this when I need to focus on graduating, and I honestly feel like an ass for having to stop now, when most games are hitting their stride.
I'll try and come back to it at the beginning of the year, but right now, I need to focus on school.
Again, I'm really sorry about doing this.

All good - which such a big party it was difficult to keep us all on point (and develop the campaign) - something I think you did exceptionally well.
Like Veklen, once RL is less pressing give us a shout. Good luck with the graduating and look forward to playing alongside you all down the line (if not in this game, then the next)
Cheers
