This looks super interesting! I'm currently working on a varisian bard to submit. I should have it done by the end of the day.


I'm going to switch gears here and do a dwarven rogue...err...treasure hunter who served as a caravan guard for Sandru. Been meaning to play a rogue for a while now. Just noticing that a lot of people are going for either Shalelu and Ameiko.

To be honest, probably not as much as it should. I tend to look more for interesting interactions between the PCs than with interactions between PCs and NPCs.

That said there tends to be a lot of people going after Ameiko or Shalelu. I think that there's four or five of you going for Sandru or Koya with the traits.

Honestly I'd have made another Sandru or Koya PC (I once made a hunter that's Koya's foster child) for the simple reason that they need some love too, but I couldn't resist the lure of crushing on Shalelu with this character :)

Backstory:

Violca is a very androgynous looking Varisian woman, who uses her flexibility to her advantage. Whether she is performing in front of a crowd of hundreds or talking someone up at a tavern, she ensures that all eyes are focused on her. Her day to day clothing can best be described as a dancer’s clothes, as she favors royal purple harem pants that cut off right at her calves. She also wears an intricate scarf around her waist, the color of crimson; embroidered with gold stars and flowers. Finally to complete her look, she wears a loose cream silk shirt that is cut just low enough to tantalize, but not low enough for her to be mistaken for a fancy girl. She keeps her hair styled in effortlessly large curls, using a stylish dark blue head scarf to keep it out of her eyes. Her hair reaches to her mid back when not curled and is so thick that she has lost several brushes to the curly devil. Violca flaunts her wealth by wearing several bracelets and bangles made of gold, as well as a large hoop earring and a small gold lip piercing. When she wears shoes, which is only when her family has been hired for a job, she favors comfortable well broken in thin soled shoes, crafted of leather, that cling to her feet as if it were a second skin. Ever vain, Viocla will go so far as to contour her chest to make it appear that she has more to ensure extra gold in tips for her performances.

Born the middle of seven children, Violca learned early on how to be the center of attention or how to meld into the background. Her friends and family would describe her as a free spirit. She is always in good spirits and enjoys making others laugh or uncomfortable, depending on how bored she is. Her favorite pass time is to see how far she can push her luck with servants of the gods before she is rebutted, generally laughing off these encounters with a smile. She has learned how to be self-reliant, and takes care to always look her best, even when times are tough. While comfortable enough with chance encounters, Violca has always vanished when relationship start to turn into something more than a warm bed. If ever questioned about it, she generally laughs it off with a “And deny all of Golarion this? I think not.” However secretly the dancer is terrified of commitment and the type of power a lover could hold over her.

Violca Jovanovi was born on the Yondabakari caravan route, to a family of performing Varisians. As the Jovanovi family traveled across Varisia performing to small crowds at festivals, young Violca watched and waited for her day to steal the spotlight. She is the first girl of the Jovanovi family, born after three older brothers (Giovanni, Ladin, and Anton) but before her three sisters (Nicoleta, Luminita, and Catina). While her brothers were taught how to become protectors and providers for their future wives, Violca’s parents were not sure what to do about their first daughter. Her father, Costel, wanted Violca to behave like most of the other women in the caravan: coy, demure, and learn how to run a family, Violeta, her mother, encouraged her daughter to follow her own path. Her father, intent on teaching his daughter a trade to fall back on, would teach Violca how to tell the true value of goods. Her mother, wanting a far safer profession for her oldest daughter would teach her how to dance traditional dances and cook.

On the first of Desna, 4709 AR, Saphir the Magnificent was born. Most of her family was shocked by how well the young woman demanded the crowd’s attention, and that day brought in more coin than the family had seen in several years. While she has left her family to temporarily settle in Sandpoint, Violca has greatly enjoyed these last two years of performing and would not trade them for the world.

Appearance:
Violca is 5'3 with a dancer's build. She has flowing black hair, bronzed skin, and emerald green eyes. She flaunts her wealth with several bracelets and bangles make of gold, as well as large hoop earrings and a small gold lip piercing. She prefers not to wear shoes, but if they are necessary, she pulls on a pair of broken in thin soled shoes crafted of leather that cling to her feet as if they were a second skin. Picture

Pesonality:
To call Violca cocksure would be like saying that the Runelords had a firm grasp on spellcasting. While true, it undermines both the Runelords true power and Violca's ego. Where some might find her attitude abrasive, Viocla is careful not to step over the line from cocky to cruel. In a more personal setting, Violca can be surprisingly soft spoken and a good source of advice. She adamantly does not wish to be saddled with the responsibilities of a leader, and much prefers herself as an adviser.

How old is your character?
Viocla is 19 years old. She has been performing as Saphir for about two years.
What would somebody see at first glance (i.e. height, weight, skin color, eye color, hair color, physique, race, and visible equipment)?
The first thing that most people notice about Viocla is her thick, wavy, black hair which she keeps in effortless looking curls. She has bronzed skin, with stunning emerald green eyes. Viocla has androgynous looking features, which causes some people to mistake her for a young man at first glance. When performing as Saphir, she paints her lips a vivid red, and wears other make up to accent her exotic looking features. She moves with a grace that cannot be taught, helped by her small, nimble frame.

Violca has a habit of twirling a strand of hair around her finger when talking to someone she finds interesting.
Where was your character born? Where were you raised? By who?
Viocla was born on the Yondabakari caravan route to a family of performing Varisians. She is the fourth child of Violeta and Costel Jovanovi and is the first daughter.
Who are your parents? Are they alive? What do they do for a living?
Violeta and Costel Jovanovi are both alive and well. When Violca last spoke with them, they were heading to visit some family in Ustalav. They are traveling performers who sing, dance, and put on small minstrel shows to earn an honest living.
Do you have any other family or friends?
Viocla is the fourth child out of seven and the first daughter. Her older brothers, Giovanni and Anton, are both built like traditional Varisian thugs, but have the kindest heart and perform acts of strength to interested crowds. Ladin, the second oldest child of the Jovanovi siblings, also has an androgynous build and was the one to teach Violca how to dance. Of Violca’s three sisters, Nicoleta is the only one old enough to perform at age twelve. Nicoleta is a master of many instruments and prefers to provide music for her siblings to perform to, rather than be front and center. Luminita just turned five and appears to be just as enthusiastic about performing as the rest of her family. Finally, Catina is the baby of the family at 3. Of her siblings, Viocla is closest to Ladin.

Viocla is unmarried, though she treats Catina more as her own child rather than a sibiling.
What is your character’s alignment?
Viocla is Chaotic Good.
What is your character’s moral code?
Viocla strongly believes in you reap what you sow.
Does your character have goals?
Viocla’s goals currently are to become the most popular act in the entire World. She loves to travel and would love to see more exotic locations outside of Varisia if given the opportunity.
Is your character religious?
Viocla practices her faith as best she can. When traveling she often stops to help maintain shrines to her goddess and keep campsites clean.
What are your character’s personal beliefs?
Viocla knows that hard work and determination will only get you so far in life. The rest of the way to success is about who you know. As such, she goes out of her way to make new friends in every city she stops in.
Does your character have any personality quirks (i.e. anti-social, arrogant, optimistic, paranoid)?
As a performer, Viocla has a bit of a dual personality. Saphir is as vain as the day is long, with a presence that commands attention no matter the crowd. When out of her Saphir persona, Viocla is soft spoken and enjoys flirting with those who do not know her stage personality. She is a hard worker who takes pride in a job well done.
Why does your character adventure?
Viocla adventures to see the world, meet new people and experience new things. She loves to travel and is open to trying unusual delicacies.
How does your character view his/her role as an adventurer?
She sees herself more as a performer and an entertainer than as a traditional adventurer. When she travels without her familial caravan, she is more than happy to provide support for those who love to wade into combat.
Does your character have any distinguishing marks (birth-marks, scars, deformities)?
Viocla has a beautiful tattoo fashioned in the shape of a butterfly on her back. It is made up of swooping circles and intricate whorls. She received her tattoo when she reached adulthood..
How does your character get along with others?
Viocla would like to think that she gets along well with others, as she is quite the crowd pleaser. She loves to make others laugh and feel at ease. If someone she is loyal to ever feels threatened, Viocla quickly switches into what her siblings call “mama-bear” mode and uses a mixture of threats, quick knife work, and good old fashion diplomacy to try and help them out.
Is there anything that your character hates?
Viocla hates being treated as fragile and an object to be won.
Is there anything that your character fears?
Viocla’s greatest fear is commitment. Despite the small number of lovers she has taken over the few years she has been traveling alone, Viocla does not want to fathom the type of power a partner could hold over her.

Questions From Your GM:

Who are you and how are you doing?
I am Anna, a 27 year old manager of a friendly local game store. I am doing pretty well, I just recieved a promotion at work and am living happily with my husband.
How often do you tend to post?
I try to post at least once a day, but I tend to fall short of that goal. I do check the paizo forums several times a day.
What kind of tone are you looking for in this game?
I am looking for an exciting fantasy adventure where situations can be exciting and full of joy as well as stressful filled with regret.
What do you expect out of your fellow players?
I would like my fellow adventurers to get along and post at least every other day, if not every day.
What do you expect out of me (the GM)?
I expect you to be able to adapt the ap in order to facilitate the changes needed for pbp format, while keeping the base story in line. I am fine with a gm who knows when to move people along when the pbp appears to be stalling.
What is your comfort zone? Where's the line for you in RP terms?
With Violca I am trying to play a character out of my comfort zone. She is going to be very sensual, but without being vulgar. As a player I have very bad past experiences with men who play Calistrian Clerics in pbp as they tend to go beyond my comfort zone with sexual overtones. I don't mind if Violca winds up dead, but I do mind if my character is used as a plot device without my permission (Mostly the terrible violated and stuck with a baby plot devices)
How do you see your character progressing as a character?
I see Violca ending up becoming more humble through her travels, and perhaps finding someone that she is willing to protect and trust with her heart. If Violca is to die, I would love it to be in the middle of an intense, difficult boss battle where she sacrifices herself in order to finish off the fiend and grant her allies the last push in order to become victorious.

I have finally decided to go with an Aasimar Bloodrager, taking the Bloodrider archetype to ride along the caravans. Fluff is up, crunch will have to wait until tomorrow, but the main points are these:
- Arcane bloodline.
- Campaign trait: Student Survivalist, no crushes.
- No ranks in "face" skills
- Big, friendly, handsome slab of meat with a greatsword and a lucerne hammer.
Ah, and while I'm here, Aasimar Alternate Physical Feature: 1d100 ⇒ 82 "don't sweat" PERFECT, I can bloodrage and keep smelling like roses.

Sneak Stab (Ex)

A knife master focuses her ability to deal sneak attack damage with daggers and similar weapons to such a degree that she can deal more sneak attack damage with those weapons at the expense of sneak attacks with other weapons. When she makes a sneak attack with a dagger, kerambit, kukri, punching daggers, starknife, or swordbreaker dagger, she uses d8s to roll sneak attack damage instead of d6s. For sneak attacks with all other weapons, she uses d4s instead of d6s.

This ability is identical in all other ways to sneak attack, and supplements that ability.

Hidden Blade

A knife master adds 1/2 her level on Sleight of Hand checks made to conceal a light blade.

This ability replaces trapfinding.

Finesse Training (Ex)

At 1st level, a rogue gains Weapon Finesse as a bonus feat. In addition, starting at 3rd level, she can select any one type of weapon that can be used with Weapon Finesse (such as rapiers or daggers). Once this choice is made, it cannot be changed. Whenever she makes a successful melee attack with the selected weapon, she adds her Dexterity modifier instead of her Strength modifier to the damage roll. If any effect would prevent the rogue from adding her Strength modifier to the damage roll, she does not add her Dexterity modifier. The rogue can select a second weapon at 11th level and a third at 19th level.


background:

Cloak was born to a poor family in sandpoint, he didn't have alot as a child so he turned to larceny and found he was quite good at it. He was found out one day however and would have been sent to jail if his parents hadn't taken the fall. He was taken in by Koya
Ever since then he has tried to go straight, he met Ameiko when he was 9, no matter what he said or did, she refused to leave him alone, it was her who gave him his namesake "cloak". he is now 19 and almost always covered in his trademark cloak.

looks and personality:

Cloak stands at 6 feet 5 inches, his hair is white and is brushed forward to cover his right eye, which are green. His build is lithe, not very bulky at all, but the tone is there.
He's usually silent unless spoken to, he has a very cynical view of people.

1.What emotion best describes your character?

...Moody...or so I've been told...

2.What emotion does your character evoke in others?

For the small amount of friends I have? Calm most likely, the only ones who actually talk to me are Ameiko, Koya, and Sandru...if I had to take a guess about my enemies? I'd say I'm a at least a bit unnerving.

3.What does your character need most?

I need to keep Koya and Ameiko safe, Sandru can take care of himself, but Koya is old and Ameiko gets into to much trouble as it is...without her I'd be a different person, so I have to do that much.

4.What is your character’s goal in life?

Well...I'd really like to leave sandpoint at some poi-...time. I'm not well liked here but I can't leave as long as Ameiko and Koya are still here.

5.How does your character believe this goal can be accomplished?

Just sit and wait honestly, Ameiko is looking for any reason to leave on a adventure, and Koya has been getting restless.

6.Where did your character come from?

Sandpoint, I was born and raised. My mom and dad tried there best to raise me but we were poor clock makers, so I was a jealous kid. Turned to stealing, Didn't get any schoolin either, I learned allot from my less then stealer childhood. Life isn't fair, people are annoying, and if life's easy it means you ain't trying hard enough.

7.When did you grow up?

When my parents where imprisoned for something I did...kinda makes you think about the consequences of your actions ya know? I was on the streets for a year before Koya took me in.

8.What values does your character hold?

#3...respect your elders, more for Koya then anyone else, if someone can survive long enough to be considered old in this world, they deserve your respect.

#2...repay every debt, good or bad, I owe Koya and Ameiko everything, and I will repay them.

#1...above all else, accept the consequences of your actions, if you put your self between crime and a victim, be prepared to face anything in retaliation. What happened with my parents made this more important then anything.

9.How does your character dress?

*cloak is covered by a black cloak, covered in stitches and patches that scream of long use. It covers his boiled leather armor that runs across his chest, under that is a black shirt that connects to the under garments and leather gloves. His entire head is wrapped in a cowl which only a fringe of stark white hair lolls out. When not wearing it, his hair rolls forward and covers almost the whole right side of his face. His feat are covered in leather sandles, the soles are completely flat, a clear sign of wear and tear. They fit tight and travel up to right below his knee caps laced up the whole way from the square shaped toe area.

10.What are your character’s means?

Well I'm no slouch in a fight if it came down to it ya know?
Puzzles are interesting and I enjoy them...though solving them is not something I excel at. I've never really left sandpoint either so travel is something I have 0 clue about.
Also, people are hard to understand sometimes, while I can usually read a person easily enough, finding the words to make use of that is much more difficult to me that anything else
Ameiko has been helping me with that.
It's uh...slow going, though if i had to, I'm still proficient in larceny.
Don't tell Koya.

11.What are your character’s personal tastes?

I enjoy learning, as a child I didn't get to go to school, so catching up in the meantime has been a hobby of mine.

I also like to relax, mostly at the rusty dragon...the people there understand that I dislike most of them so they leave my alone for the most part.

I do have a guilty pleasure, singing, it's just so nice...don't tell anyone, I will find you.

12.What are your character’s opinions?

1.Pathfinders are glorified grave robbers

2.Never complain, that time can be used to find a way to make life better

3.never do anything without thought, if you don't think about it, how will you be ready for the consequences?

13.What is your character’s comfort zone?

When ever I am agitated (alot of the time) I'll start humming this hymn that Koya would sing to me as a child, it reminds me of the good times I've had with her.

14.Who has had the biggest impact on your character’s life?

While Koya took me in, it was Ameiko who showed me that life is a beautiful thing. She wouldn't leave me alone, everyday asking to play and after a year I eventually caved in. I was angry, sad, and fed up with my own failures, but I was shown it was OK to fail, as failure is life greatest teacher. She even gave me my cloak, some people are weirded out by the fact I still wear this old thing, but it's my most precious gift, and I'll never be rid of it.

15.What are some of your character’s unexpected quirks?

...I'm actually deathly afraid of heights...weird right?
I've been told by Koya that I can sing pretty well, though she's the only one I'd let hear it.
I dislike sneaking around, but I wasn't blessed with big muscles and Constitution, so I quickly learned if I want to survive in have to be more...subtle

16 What kind of story does your character belong in?

Cloak would interact most with characters that he feels that he could be of use too, underlying usefulness issues cause that. I'd like a setting that causes a character to think about there values, problems that arise because of them, and to see if they'll cave or not.

17.What role does your character fill?

I'm here to fit the sneaking and stealing niche of the group, I also am a adequate lie catcher and judge of character if the major one fails. In combat he jumps around with a high AC and acrobatics to give and get flanks firstly, eventually will go into feint.

18.What should the other players know about your character?

He's very monotone, and easily Embarrassed which he hides behind anger. If he had to choose between a NPC and a PC he's not guaranteed to pick you. Also, when people start to get close to Ameiko they can expect a talk with Cloak, not because he jealous, but because he doesn't know your intentions with 1 of his precious people
(Not to say he wouldn't mind being with Ameiko)

19.What is your play style?

I very much enjoy heavy character immersion. And colorful descriptions for things.

20.How do you want your character to die?

I'm a very big fan of the heroic sacrifice death, if I'm going to die in want it to mean something. I want to die protecting Ameiko and Koya, Cloak sees them as worth more then him

I don't really have one really. I just love RP

I want Cloak to grow into his emotions, as his cynical view of the world has covered him in greys that are only colored up when with Koya or Ameiko or Sandru. I want him to grow to can for the PCs as much as the NPC and the best way for that to happen is interactions with them

Olliket is an ISTP .

While their mechanical tendencies can make them appear simple at a glance, ISTPs are actually quite enigmatic. Friendly but very private, calm but suddenly spontaneous, extremely curious but unable to stay focused on formal studies, ISTP personalities can be a challenge to predict, even by their friends and loved ones. ISTPs can seem very loyal and steady for a while, but they tend to build up a store of impulsive energy that explodes without warning, taking their interests in bold new directions.

Short Background:

Ollikets mother had known Madame Niska Mvashti for over 90 years before Niska passed away so recently. When they were younger they had even adventured together. Eventually Olikets mother married a human and settled down in the newly forming town of sandpoint. Soon after Olliket was born.

Olliket grew up in Sandpoint learning carpentry and the art of swordplay from his father. At one point his mother had tried to teach him magic but became obvious rather quickly that the knack was not in his blood. His entire Life Oliket was around Niska. She was like a grandmother to him and developed a strong relationship with him. She helped him learn manners and made sure he knew how to be honest.

Around town Olliket is known as a hard worker who is kind towards others. On the few occasions that people have picked fights with him or he has seen fit to protect others those people have learned that he is not afraid of a fight and will not tolerate Hooliganism.

A remembrance from a funeral:

Olliket made his way into the old townhouse that belonged too... rather that used to belong too Madame Niska Mvashti. It seemed to Oliket that the entire town had turned out for her funeral. As he walked in memories came unbidden of the last funeral he had attended here. It was for his father who died ten years ago at the age of sixty-four. Now he was back. Last time Niska had opened her home for the benefit of Olikets family. This time the funeral was her own.

Olliket looked around the crowd looking for his mother. He knew she would be here and was worried that she would be distraught by the loss of her lifelong friend. Oliket's mother had known Niska Mvashti since they were both young girls... and Olikets mother being an Elf meant that Niska was very old for a human.

Olliket saw his mother sitting with an elderly dwarven man he had never met before. They were getting strange looks from all around he room ... not because of their races but because of the fact that they were laughing at funeral. The young Half elf wandered over to where the two were talking curious who this Dwarf could be.

The old dwarf was in the middle of telling a story in Elven, ...and then Niska just started scolding that Hill Giant! How dare you treat a lady like that... Darndst thing I ever saw... and that giant just took the tongue lashing. Poor thing just hung his head low and appologized... appologized I tell you!

Ollikets mother seemed to have an energy about her that he had not seen in her before. It was obvious that there was a very old bond shared between her and the Dwarf. Hahaha... I can't believe I never heard that story, over ninety years I knew Niska and never did she tell me that story. Oh Dragmith let me introduce you to my son Olliket.

The Dwarf turned and examine Oliket looking him up and down. Has your nose and chin doesn't he... but definitely has his fathers eyes... split the ears down the middle you two did, eh?.

Olliket wasn't sure how to take the jibe. But his mother obviously took it in stride. She got a twinkle in her eye and laughed. Oh Dragmith you're terrible. Son don't mind him he's a bitter old dwarf that thinks he's funny. But he's also a dear friend. He traveled with myself and Niska... well ... in a life almost forgotten.

That was until you ran off with that Half-orc... Dragmith spat on the floor drawing a few looks. He wasn't good enough for you. I'm glad you finally settled down with Kivan. The dwarf turned to Oliket. Boy. Your dad was a good man. It always made sense that your mother settled down with him. They got a bit of a hard time for being different races but the match was a good one. Although sometimes I think she was just taken with his eyes. Oh she would go on and on about your fathers eyes. They were allot like yours I see. I hope you take after him in other ways.

Yes sir he taught me to be a carpenter and how to use sword and shield.

Dragmith laughed Couldn't have had a better teacher on those accounts but you didn't get your manners from him. You must have spent a fair amount of time with Niska your self. I can see her handiwork. She tried to genteel me as well boy... but it never stuck.

Olliket didn't know why but he was starting to feel comfortable around the dwarf. There was something familiar about him. It was a little like having a piece of Niska and his father back. Well my mother took me to visit her every day when I was a young boy. And there was the month I spent with her when mother had to tend after her father when he was sick. Took me years to realize Niska wasn't my Grandmother. Although in a way I feel like she was. She always had treats for me when we would visit, and seemed to know what kind of trouble I would get into before I had a chance to. I'm going to miss her.

Aye lad we all are. Niska was a singular piece of work. Not many like her. How a bout a drink to her. The dwarf pulled out a small hip flask, poured some alcohol on the floor then took a swallow and passed it to Ollikets mother.

She in turn took a sip and then passed the flask to Olliket. He took a sip himself and tasted the foul tasting alcohol that seemed to burn his nostrils. He coughed a little. They don't sell anything like that at the tavern.

At about that moment the room grew quiet and everyone looked towards the door. In came Koya Mvashti, daughter of the deceased. To Olliket she had always been a bit of a mysterious whirlwind. Some of her earliest memories were of her in her twenties coming to her mothers house for a few short days then heading back out into the world on some sort of new adventure. He never really got to know her at all till Her mother began to get ill. Even then the realtionship was always cordial. He felt like she was an older cousin that just never really talked to him.

Behind her was a man that Olliket knew to be Sandru Vhiski. He didn;t know the man particularly well but Niska had spoken well of him.

People began to crowd Koya. Well wishers all wanting to tell her how bad they all felt for her. How much they missed her. Koya locked eyes with Olikets mother and the two had some kind of personal conversation. Oliket never understood how women did that but he had seen it enough times to not question things. He had to admit he was a little jealous of their relationship. His mother turned to the two men and made her excuse. Excuse me gentlemen but I think I'm needed. Dragmith don't teach my son any of your ill manners now. Do you hear! I hope we can get another chance to talk again before With that Ollikets mother went to Koya's side and embraced her. For the rest of the funeral she had never left her side.

I am Paul. I 'm 37 work as a cake decorator and am doing pretty well.
How often do you tend to post?
Honestly I might be addicted to pbp. I tend to check to see if people have posted evry few hours. It's unusual for me not to post several times a day in games where other players are active.
What kind of tone are you looking for in this game?
I'm hoping for a fun game where people have interesting characters that are interesting without becoming cartoonie.
What do you expect out of your fellow players?
I would hope the other players are interested in a fun role playing experience where we can work together to tell a fun story. I would hope that they are more focused on the content of the story and interactions then the number crunching and RNG.
What do you expect out of me (the GM)?
I would hope that your consitent about checking up on the game, organized when it comes to running encounters, and able to recognize when you need to act to push the story forward,
What is your comfort zone? Where's the line for you in RP terms?
I tend to draw the line when RP start to hurt the process of telling the story. So often people use the line that's what my character would do to justify behavior that is damaging to a campaign.
How do you see your character progressing as a character?
My expectation is that he will develop relationships with the other character around him and begin to develop his own skills. Being away from Sandpoint will allow him to start to grow as an individual and become more reliant on himself so that others can rely on him.


Seeing as there are so many melee characters, I might just change mine over to a sorcerer.

Whenever she makes a successful melee attack with the selected weapon, she adds her Dexterity modifier instead of her Strength modifier to the damage roll. If any effect would prevent the rogue from adding her Strength modifier to the damage roll, she does not add her Dexterity modifier. The rogue can select a second weapon at 11th level and a third at 19th level.


background:

Cloak was born to a poor family in sandpoint, he didn't have alot as a child, rarely did he go to bed full of food, and he was lucky if he ever got a new set of clothes. One day the hunger became to much and he stole some bread from a local baker, it was easy and it made him full, so he did it again, then again, and again untill he grew very proficient with larceny. So confident in his new found skill was he, that he targeted a well known family well respected by the town...the kaijistu. He didnt stand a chance, he was found by there daughter and her scream led to a chase around the city. Cornered into his home, his parents walked out and took the fall for him, saying they love him. They were imprisoned and he was left on the streets for a year. He was found by Koya after he tried to steal from her. She took him in and berated Cloak telling him that he was spitting on his parents sacrifice by continuing his thieving ways.
Ever since then he's tried to go straight, Koya put him to work saying nothing in life was free and that he'd have to learn that. when he was 9, after a early end to his work day, he was found by the daughter that had caught him breaking into her house, Ameiko. Crazy thing was, she wasnt mad, only curious about why he'd done it. Telling her why, he tried his best to avoid her afterwords. But she had made it her personal mission to find and talk to him everyday proclaiming that she wanted to leave sandpoint one day and be a adventurer; and that she wanted him to be her first underling. Suffice to say, cloak didn't like that and tried to ignore her, but eventually he accepted just to make her stop.
In her eyes it made them best friends, and they had many adventures through the rest of their child hood,
Cloak is now 19, covered in a cloak gifted to him by Ameiko, grown and ready to leave sandpoint...only if Koya and Ameiko would let him...

looks and personality:

Cloak stands at 6 feet 5 inches, his hair is white and is brushed forward to cover his right eye, which are green. His build is lithe, not very bulky at all, but the tone is there.
He's usually silent unless spoken to, he has a very cynical view of people.

...Moody...or so I've been told...

2.What emotion does your character evoke in others?

For the small amount of friends I have? Calm most likely, the only ones who actually talk to me are Ameiko, Koya, and Sandru...if I had to take a guess about my enemies? I'd say I'm a at least a bit unnerving.

3.What does your character need most?

I need to keep Koya and Ameiko safe, Sandru can take care of himself, but Koya is old and Ameiko gets into to much trouble as it is...without her I'd be a different person, so I have to do that much.

4.What is your character’s goal in life?

Well...I'd really like to leave sandpoint at some poi-...time. I'm not well liked here but I can't leave as long as Ameiko and Koya are still here.

5.How does your character believe this goal can be accomplished?

Just sit and wait honestly, Ameiko is looking for any reason to leave on a adventure, and Koya has been getting restless.

6.Where did your character come from?

Sandpoint, I was born and raised. My mom and dad tried there best to raise me but we were poor clock makers, so I was a jealous kid. Turned to stealing, Didn't get any schoolin either, I learned allot from my less then stealer childhood. Life isn't fair, people are annoying, and if life's easy it means you ain't trying hard enough.

7.When did you grow up?

When my parents where imprisoned for something I did...kinda makes you think about the consequences of your actions ya know? I was on the streets for a year before Koya took me in.

8.What values does your character hold?

#3...respect your elders, more for Koya then anyone else, if someone can survive long enough to be considered old in this world, they deserve your respect.

#2...repay every debt, good or bad, I owe Koya and Ameiko everything, and I will repay them.

#1...above all else, accept the consequences of your actions, if you put your self between crime and a victim, be prepared to face anything in retaliation. What happened with my parents made this more important then anything.

9.How does your character dress?

*cloak is covered by a black cloak, covered in stitches and patches that scream of long use. It covers his boiled leather armor that runs across his chest, under that is a black shirt that connects to the under garments and leather gloves. His entire head is wrapped in a cowl which only a fringe of stark white hair lolls out. When not wearing it, his hair rolls forward and covers almost the whole right side of his face. His feat are covered in leather sandles, the soles are completely flat, a clear sign of wear and tear. They fit tight and travel up to right below his knee caps laced up the whole way from the square shaped toe area.

10.What are your character’s means?

Well I'm no slouch in a fight if it came down to it ya know?
Puzzles are interesting and I enjoy them...though solving them is not something I excel at. I've never really left sandpoint either so travel is something I have 0 clue about.
Also, people are hard to understand sometimes, while I can usually read a person easily enough, finding the words to make use of that is much more difficult to me that anything else
Ameiko has been helping me with that.
It's uh...slow going, though if i had to, I'm still proficient in larceny.

11.What are your character’s personal tastes?

I enjoy learning, as a child I didn't get to go to school, so catching up in the meantime has been a hobby of mine.

I also like to relax, mostly at the rusty dragon...the people there understand that I dislike most of them so they leave my alone for the most part.

I do have a guilty pleasure, singing, it's just so nice...don't tell anyone, I will find you.

13.What is your character’s comfort zone?

When ever I am agitated (alot of the time) I'll start humming this hymn that Koya would sing to me as a child, it reminds me of the good times I've had with her.

14.Who has had the biggest impact on your character’s life?

While Koya took me in, it was Ameiko who showed me that life is a beautiful thing. She wouldn't leave me alone, everyday asking to play and after a year I eventually caved in. I was angry, sad, and fed up with my own failures, but I was shown it was OK to fail, as failure is life greatest teacher. She even gave me my cloak, some people are weirded out by the fact I still wear this old thing, but it's my most precious gift, and I'll never be rid of it.

15.What are some of your character’s unexpected quirks?

...I'm actually deathly afraid of heights...weird right?
I've been told by Koya that I can sing pretty well, though she's the only one I'd let hear it.
I dislike sneaking around, but I wasn't blessed with big muscles and Constitution, so I quickly learned if I want to survive in have to be more...subtle

16 What kind of story does your character belong in?

Cloak would interact most with characters that he feels that he could be of use too, underlying usefulness issues cause that. I'd like a setting that causes a character to think about there values, problems that arise because of them, and to see if they'll cave or not.

17.What role does your character fill?

I'm here to fit the sneaking and stealing niche of the group, I also am a adequate lie catcher and judge of character if the major one fails. In combat he jumps around with a high AC and acrobatics to give and get flanks firstly, eventually will go into feint.

18.What should the other players know about your character?

He's very monotone, and easily Embarrassed which he hides behind anger. If he had to choose between a NPC and a PC he's not guaranteed to pick you. Also, when people start to get close to Ameiko they can expect a talk with Cloak, not because he jealous, but because he doesn't know your intentions with 1 of his precious people
(Not to say he wouldn't mind being with Ameiko)

19.What is your play style?

I very much enjoy heavy character immersion. And colorful descriptions for things.

20.How do you want your character to die?

I'm a very big fan of the heroic sacrifice death, if I'm going to die in want it to mean something. I want to die protecting Ameiko and Koya, Cloak sees them as worth more then him

I want Cloak to grow into his emotions, as his cynical view of the world has covered him in greys that are only colored up when with Koya or Ameiko or Sandru. I want him to grow to can for the PCs as much as the NPC and the best way for that to happen is interactions with them

I realized that I missed actually writing her backstory, so the short form is that Anya is an orphan that was raised at an orphanage run by Father Zanthus' church. When she was old enough, she decided to become a pathfinder to help her control her power, which appeared to be the touch of death. After a year of pathfinder school (mostly spent gaining control over her abilities), she decided that she wanted to return home to be near Ameiko, the first person who had ever treated her kindly (Anya has hag-like features, so the neighborhood kids liked to call her one). Since coming back, Anya has worked as a bouncer at the Rusty Dragon, where she can protect Ameiko from would-be suitors and rowdy drunks alike. She only uses her power when people draw weapons, otherwise she's more than content to just drag people out of the bar.


Sapiens here again. Reading again about Luther Florean I realized that I deeply disliked him, so I scratched him.
Leandro, here, starts as a Human Zen Archer, but he is to be a Cleric of Erastil for most of his levels, taking the role of divine caster and support.
Again, fluff is up and crunch is on its way.


I changed Jack over to a sorcerer with the psychic bloodline. There are so many martial submissions and I wasn't excited for the character. Still do need to write up the fluff though.

@Leandro: One problem with playing a divine caster, but starting off as a different class is that then you are pretty much forced to pick another healer as well. Not all parties got room for two divine caster (though that may or may not be the case here)


@oyzar: Perhaps. I start as a monk because the archetype of Cleric I want (Ecclesiathurge) does not grant proficiency in the bow, but I can always do the opposite, grab a crossbow and delay combat abilities. As soon as second level comes, the start will be irrelevant.
After all, this is a pretty minor point, and I trust that, should it be the only impediment to me getting in the campaign, DM Salsa would notify me.


Yanjieming here. I am still interested, I just have a strange compulsion to completely finish my characters before submitting. No real reason. Just happens. But since you're getting ready to send out pms, I figured I'd lighten your load a bit. I'm working on a Tengu Ranger named Rochiipu Mazhyaz, mostly just called Roach. I'm still working on her, hopefully have her ready soon.

Background:
Nuri was born in the Cinderlands to the Shoanti Sklar-Quah. However, from her earliest moments, it was clear that she was different, from her firey eyes to her talent for manipulating flames. Her magical talent was recognized by her tribe's thundercaller, and she was raised to become an oracle. Her first revalation came as she stared into the sun, and saw true power in it's infinite light. Her power was fully realized, but it came at the price of her sight, her eyes damaged by the sun she holds so dear. Despite all that, she decided she was not content to follow in the trackless meandering of her tribe, instead she would follow the sun and stars wherever they would lead her. And on a stormy day, her seemingly ceaseless wandering led her to Windsong Abbey. She went in to find respite from the storm, and when she left five days later, she was a devout worshiper of Saranrae. She wandered for a day more, before finding the quiet seaside town of Sandpoint. She then knew where she would settle down once more until her destiny called to her again. In the five years she has lived in Sandpoint, she has gotten to know Ameiko Kaijutsu quite well, and has refined her magic into a more polished form. She spends her days chatting with Ameiko, praying to Saranrae in whatever patch of sun she can find, or practicing her magic.

Personality and Appearance:
Nuri is a kind and generous person, and always striving to redeem those who do not see the light of goodness. While the sun took her sight, she sees it as a part of the journey to enlightenment that she must walk to gain power.

Nuri stands at about five feet and nine inches tall, with red-orange hair and cloudy eyes that burn with inner flame. Her skin is almost a burnished bronze and at times a glowing halo manifests around her head.

@Vigney - Wow, twin is right! Now I kinda wish the two of them could be in a game together, as improbable as such a thing would be. I'm also kinda glad that I'm not the only one who had that general idea, to be honest.


So I just saw this after a fairly long absence from the messageboards and was interested. This seems like it would be a cool campaign, and the character creation guidelines fit my admittedly picky desires.

I'm going to think on what I want to try out for this. I have concepts for a Bard or Brawler.

Good god though the number and quality of these submissions is quite high.
