The black-robed figure sitting behind the desk turns his baleful gaze to the dwarf and takes the character sheet from his hands. After his glowing eye scroll over the page from behind the glasses that can just barely be seen glinting in the light of the braziers, he points a long, clawed finger at the massive obsidian plaque and utters an incantation in a language long dead and too horrible to be described. Arcane fire leaps from outstretched finger to one of the lines on the plaque, erasing what was there and engraving new characters.
"Before you go," the figure says in three gravelly voices speaking as one as he turns back to the dwarf, "I have a question that needs to be answered."
With a wave of a hand, the door that TheWaskally was walking towards closes with a sound like that of a deep voice saying doom.

I was going to ask you (GM) if you'd mind if I started a separate thread set in the common room at the Rusty Dragon just for us to RP while we wait, but then I realized how silly it would be to just hang out in the tavern with half a dozen of Koya's (mostly native outsider) foster kids and a bunch of people crushing on Ameiko... I guess with these campaign traits you really do need get your number down to a reasonable level for any verisimilitude.

I am starting to get really annoyed with people saying that they've already posted them or sent them to me in a PM when I have explicitly stated that you needed to include them in your submission.

I honestly thought about doing this myself, but yeah, there's a lot of Aasimars and Kitsune running around Sandpoint these days. ;)
Speaking for Tavern-y discussion threads, I've almost always put the name of a tavern as the title for the discussion thread. I've also never thought to ask the players what they would like to name it, so allow me to rectify the situation.
What should we name the OOC tavern? I'd like to stick with something from East Asia/Tian Xia, but suggest whatever you want.
How about (The Mountain, Hawk, and Eggplant)? In Japan all are lucky things to dream about in a person's first dream of the year.
Huangjin Chashi, or Golden Tea Room?
Or maybe (The Dubious Eel)?
I am partial to The Twelve Ruby Stars Tavern
May I suggest Lu Ke Tiandi: it would have a double meaning. In Mandarin it is made up of the words "traveler" and "world" or "earth" respectively--though not by any means a good translation of a "world traveler"--then in the version of Tien I'd mentioned I wanted to create, it'd mean something to the effect of "home-like resting place for the weary." More directly "world heavy home rest"

I would suggest not using a tavern name for this one. It's a traveling caravan, so would not always go to the same tavern. Maybe the circled wagons or campfire discussions or something similar.

Well, if we're offering feedback on tavern names... I like anything that sounds like a Chinese buffet- pretty much any vaguely Asian noun with jade or gold/golden as an adjective... The Golden Lotus... The Jade Mountain... Actually, given the name of the AP maybe stick to golden: Golden Lotus, Golden Tea House, Gold Oni, Golden [any animal that has a kung fu school named after it]...
Or you could go low brow like so many American bars... something like The Vanishing Kimono, or The Traveler's Booty?

3. I'm looking for a fun and enjoyable game.
4. I generally expect for them to be respectful of me and the other players and keep drama to a minimum. Good roleplaying skills are also great.
5. I like a GM that can keep the group on track and will be consistent in their posting. I also enjoy some leeway when it comes to the Rule of Cool and allowing roleplay to evolve naturally.
6. I'm comfortable in most situations, although I'd greatly prefer staying out of romantic RP, as it often doesn't end well.
7. I see Nuri becoming less sure that evil can be redeemed and being less optimistic.

I realize I've totally dropped off of the radar for awhile. I was kind of in a creative rut for awhile and waffling over my character.
I think I've sorted that out. I'm going for a Brawler. I've worked out the stats mostly and am working on backstory. My character is also taking the older sibling trait, so I need to figure how that is going to mesh.
I should have something monday afternoon at the latest.
I realize this might be a little late, but my future character build somewhat requires access to being able to purchase specific magic items. Would that be a problem?

I agree that the Pickled Goblin is a pretty great tavern name. One wonders if they'd serve their namesake to their clientele.
I'm just checking in to let you know that I've been educating myself on Spherecasting and working diligently on getting one built under this alias.
The concept is a sort of Wizard artificer who has created a magical focus that allows him to manipulate time. More on the mechanics and story to come.
It'll feel nice to play Scaffold Kane again if I get the chance.
