I hope it's not too disruptive to have Marisol not know much more about vampires and stuff than is in crappy novels. She's been sheltered for a reason.

That and it's an excuse for me to learn the system better, I think.

Male Satyr Emissary of power

Glad to have you two aboard! hehe I hope you enjoy the drunken saytr in your workplace thomas! :P

Marisol and Seil are gona have a grand time me thinks, Seil really doesnt like white courts, and im sure Marisol really wont like seils decadant and rather sinful lifestyle. That being said, its gona make for some grand Rping :)

And that is all that matters :)

Zoe, I know that you're fidgiting with Marisol's Incite Emotion? Or at least, I think that's what you're doing. I as a player am not dense, but Marisol is.

Okay, I am thinking about my final two phases. Having read Zoe's I assume she will be my phase 4 guest star, likely meeting at some art function, or a chance encounter when she was dragged out of her domicile by peers that hadn't recognized her inherent distaste for social situations.

Phase 5 maybe she and Zoe go by Seil's tavern? I don't see her knowing an FBI agent, unless he's investigating her.

I am open to suggestions.

Marisol Raith wrote:

Well as the other fellow newbie, having both of us feature as a guest star for the other can work.

Johnathan's Library always needs stocking of books, and probably hit Columbia University for two reasons during his Leave from Whiterock Services. One, the University was selling some of its older books, and he wanted to peruse them for anything dealing with the occult before someone else snaps them up.

Probably the best place to actually have the two end up meeting, where Johnathan doesn't end up directly introducing Marisol to the supernatural. As Johnathan probably ends up searching through the Romantic era books for the rare occult treasure, amongst the Midsummer Nights Eve and other books that include the Fey in their stories.

The other reason was probably a small job hunting down a deranged Domovoi causing havoc on campus in various ways. Usually claimed as a hairy homeless vagrant who breaks in and causing who knows what damage/trouble in various places on campus.

My Phase Aspect would probably end up being dealing with how horrible of a liar he is (Hmm, "Unbelievable Excuses" or ... "Or Lie isn't My Middle Name"?), with his attempts of covering up the supernatural while tracking down and banish the Domovoi.

Yours could end up dealing with Curiosity, or what you can think up with a hired man who tells rather obvious lies to you, yet running around campus tracking an insane but hard to find homeless vagrant could cause?

My other Aspect will probably come up once I have a better idea of how Thomas's character works.

Sorry but i am a bit dense, which part of that overblown tripe i posted were you refering to?

Oh, the fidgeting and blushing when referring to Alexander. But then, I could have been misinterpreting it as well.

Cursed Were-Lioness

Sorry, no you we correct she was 'enarmoured' of the cute man, but she (I) wasn't trying to meta-game with her forcing you to do/feel anything. Just trying to have a 'girly' talk (although less risque than my female friends talking).

Ah yes. I've never referred to a male I was "crushing on" to my female friends as "hot."

Then again, my few female friends were quite vulgar. Like myself.

IRL, I am somewhere between a "bro" and a den marm, and don't play well with "lady" types.

Cursed Were-Lioness

Fair enough, people and words differ.

Spoiler:
I was semi-quoting a west coast friend of mine, who uses those terms.

Indubitably. I did not mean to offend. Just, you know. It has been awhile since I've had a female friend to speak to. Left most acquaintances behind when I graduated from college :P

Cursed Were-Lioness

NP, it's just RP ing a female especially in PbP where the emotions/ words can be analysed more, can mean that i feel i am 'doing it wrong' or using phrases incorrectly (or ones that a man would. So no offense taken just making sure you didn't feel i was 'doing it wrong'.

No no no. I only get upset at people "doing it wrong" when they write "Good" on their sheets and act EVIL. When they say that they promote balance, and then create factions inside a group and take sides against a single party member.

That, I believe, is "doing it wrong" and should be railed against with the sternest verbosity!

And I hardly social RP females correctly. Unless you want to read the RotRL thread, where I play a 17 year old girl quite well. HAhaha.

Marisol, any thoughts on if starring in each other back-story works?

Yes, some. I like the idea of meeting at the library. She has contacts, and scholarship. If there were something mundane you needed to know, she could have furnished you with it, or helped your research.

Sorry I haven't gotten back to you, my games have been taxing me a bit lately, but I got my intro post out of the way.

Marisol Raith wrote:

Met at the library, as he was perusing the books for sale for anything for his collection.

Stocking his personal "arcane" library is probably the most you contact him about, as he is more then willing to pay a nice finder's fee for books you may stumble upon that meets his rather "bizarre" collection hobby. Rare Fey, occult, and such books/journals/scrolls/texts and a few outside of it. Things an avid reader may stumble across when looking for a new book. Or to get the reward on finding one with a specific subject he puts a bounty on.

He does have rather good resources to pay for such things, and they don't pop up that often anyways.

Of course when he says that the collection is just a hobby of his, you call him on the lie. But when he dryly states to using the collection to ID monsters to get rid of them easier, that has to be an even worse lie, right?

Hmm, "Occult-Reference Fanatic" can work as an Aspect for me with this.

Anything to put in as well, whether to help bring forth an aspect that fits or something? The idea of helping Johnathan stock his arcane library was a very nice idea. Especially as he doesn't have access to the resources of the White Council, thus he must find what he can elsewhere.

Possibly Twilight as one of the books, for him to treat it as a horrible and cruel joke you played on him.

Twilight? I think she would direct you to the nearest chain store to pick up some LKHamilton :P

Yeah... I am going to put you as my fourth and have Zoe be my fifth. If that's alright with her player. Like, she's in the progress of changing right now.

Marisol Raith wrote:

Oh, thats just as cruel.

Want to go by the book, where we write the Title and the opening for the Guest Story for each other, or just write the whole thing ourselves?

I thought the guest stars were like an appearance, but I suppose I read wrong.

But sure. For my part, Marisol... likely has some manner of minor position in the library, likely as a tutor of some sort, basically to stack books and what not, perhaps to be on hand to help with translation of older text for students (there's no relative skill in this system, but I imagine she would probably know Latin, Greek, Hebrew and even Arabic having studied religion extensively). So if he was looking for some information on demons, perhaps, she'd be able to find an old text and translate it?

I mean, keeping to the theme.

If you haven't read what she's been speaking about with Zoe, she has plenty of informed opinions on the subject.

Marisol Raith wrote:

Nah, I may have read it wrong myself here. Lets run it as an appearance unless someone else says something. Easier on both of us that way.

Definitely adding translation services to why he is in touch. Thats a skill that Johnathan would lack ability for himself, but is willing to spend money on to have done.

I wonder what Marisol's thoughts are of her "part-time job" looking up and translating rather strange Lore. Johnathan knows his Lore, but is always looking for help translating and gathering more.

Yeah, I gave her scholarship but not Lore because I figured her mysterious benefactors were better at keeping her in the dark. So, she'll be able to help people get books through contacts and what not, and probably translate, but as far as knowing about monsters and stuff she'll be pretty useless.

So we going to run with the idea that Marisol helped Johnathan with some translation of text on Demons? I don't think it'll be too much retconning or anything to say that that has been done in the past. If Ryuko is okay with it.

I also have to think what my phase aspects will be. I believe I'm in the process of "writing" phase 5 with Zoe right now.

Cursed Were-Lioness

Marisol:
Just rying to think of where to go from here. I could write more and try to make them bond more; which would be fun. Alternatively after a few more exchanges Zoe could show Marisol her were-form and thus blow her mind about the supernatural? But i would not want you to feel this is too inorganic. Or that Zoe is talking to you 'cause you have a PC above your head.

For Zoe it is mainly about her insecurities and lack of social base around the city. And that Marisol is great but in a non-threatening way (to her)

Zoe:

Well, someone is going to have to pop her cherry, so to speak. Aha! I think that it would be less frightening if Zoe were to do it with a physical transformation than it would be if a demon were to appear in front of her and confirm all her greatest fears.

Besides which, she meant what she said about God's love. So I think it would be an appropriate test of her faith, and her character, and a pretty decent phase cap.

Cursed Were-Lioness

Marisol:
Cool, just didn't want to throw it at you. Anyway it may be a few days before, the group (bar John) come together so i am not going to rush this. (ooh bad metaphors coming into my head ;p )

Zoe:

Yes I realized I was being quite vulgar. Like your lady friends :P

That works out just fine for me. I can't think of anything else to add.

Dooooh! The terrible LKH pun. Hahaha!

Cursed Were-Lioness

:)

And now to try and find the best way to write this next post.

Male Human Super Cruel DM 10

Hey guys, sorry about my silence the last couple days. I'm going through a bit of a rough patch with my gf and my family, and I'm having trouble summoning creative energy from that. I had hopes to write tonight but another argument has left me feeling drained so hopefully later tongiht I'll be better. Either way I have the next two days off so let's hope I'm feeling up to it in the morning. Just apologizing for crap and explaining my abscence, happy trails.

If you do not mind, Zoe, I will sit on the reaction to this one for a while as well.

Mostly to make it organic.

Partly because I know it is probably getting light out over there and you haven't slept, and that kinda worries me. Coz I'm a den marm at heart :)

Cursed Were-Lioness

Nah, it's cool. I had to just post that one anyway because i had actually got an idea of what to put. Though it did take me longer than i hoped.

Marisol Raith wrote:

Yep, sounds like a good idea.

Male Human Super Cruel DM 10

Just wanting to say I'm still here. Watching out for you guys, and waiting until you get back into DM territory. Zoe gets a Fate Point for being stylish, and Jonathan get's a Fate Point for having issues with his employer. Carry on!

BLEEP, damn post monster ate my post & kicked me out of the store, now to remember it. :(

EDIT: Now it's completely different (don't know if it's better or worse)

Word documents are your friend. Or Lazarus if you have Firefox. Remembers everything so you don't have to keep pressing ctrl + c :P

Yeah, i should do that. Mostly its just ctrl+C, but my PC is rubbish, should be getting a new one.

Of course the few times you forget to copy it the system crashes :/

Thanks for the mention of Lazarus. I've already had posts eaten by timeouts or a power failure due to a lightning storm in my area. Very, very annoying.

No problem. I have it on my gaming laptop. Not this one, though.

Hope things are going better for ya IRL, Ryuko.

Also looks like we'll be hitting DM territory quite soon, too.

Cursed Were-Lioness

Sorry about the long post, but that's about it for the Zoe Emo-Hour :)

The part in italics are spoken to Marisol, i just had to change the format for that because all in bold was terrible. And it was meant to be a bit of a reverie

no problemo. My sorc in RotRL had her drunken emo hour recently. :P

Cursed Were-Lioness

Whoopsie, my poor writing skills. The attack did end with the death of Zoe's mother, she just wishes she was at home with her.

Cliche-tastic :)

You have 10 mins if you want to end (if your on-line)

Awh, time is up already, poo.

Bummer bummer. I guess we can forget that that post was made, then.

hrm...

Cursed Were-Lioness

No sorry, should have stopped it earlier, it's alright. My fault for poor turn of phrase. Don't worry Zoe will react stoically. LOl

Okay, I have completed Marisol's phases with her Guest Stars, and aspects. If I need to do more work, please let me know. Going to post a "let's go to the bar" post now, so hopefully we'll be on the same page soon.

Male Satyr Emissary of power

sorry about the recent disapearance, finishing up a hard course in me training. Ima go ahead and give a big old description post of the bar and patrons and stuff for flare.

Okay, if there's that much partying going on, shouldn't Marisol be able to feed off all the stuff going on in there?

I'm not certain how it works, but if she touches somebody she might go berserk, right?

Male Human Super Cruel DM 10

Well, game rule wise, you're only at risk of going berserk when you rack up your hunger track or I compel you. That said, I hadn't heard of what Seil had planned for the bar, and I'm thinking of doing just that... we'll see.

EDIT: Just realized that White Court Virgins aren't even required to have a Hunger Track, since you didn't take Feeding Dependancy. Will see what Seil is planning to do and then will likely compel your concept for you feeling a berserk need to feed.

Niiiiice.

Looking forward to proving Marisol a bigger monster than Zoe. Should be fun.

Also, making the square turn into a freaking succubus will be fun.
