Lorena once again moves up with the archer and strikes at him.

Lorena Finally getting her footing right stabs her spear catching the Archer at an awkward angle under his left arm and into his arm pit drops him to his knee.

Ignoring the pain, Khaz swung his mace at the demon once more. Willing the divine through him, his body was managing to close his wounds as fast as they formed. Barely...he wouldn’t be able to keep it up for long.

The demon was almost down, but so was Khaz. He was barely on his feet...

<Your turn.> With the archer brought to his knees, Lorena moves back towards the nearly-dead howler and stabs at its head, aiming to finish it off. Looking towards Khaz, she asks, <Are you okay?>, though the dwarf doesn't seem to understand. he doesn't have abyssal, right?

My mistake, sickened it is


The Mage turns and flees down an alley avoiding running out into the open, the Archer down on one knee almost dead grunts as Carson Just to push things along Launches one of his spears and finally kills the Howler, the vibration of the howl takes a few seconds to settle but eventually your ears stop ringing.

Khaz fell down to one knee and grunted as he went to work removing the spines.

Heal take 10: 10 + 7 = 17

”The mage is fookin’ getting away.” He knew that he wouldn’t be able to catch the man. Hopefully his companions could shoot him down.

If I can reach and attack the mage, then use my previous out-of-turn post to attack him, otherwise finish off archer guy, I guess.


Lorena stabs at the Archer, the man falls to the ground unconscious.....

”Firinn, the mage!”


Firinn turns at Khaz's call and fires at the fleeing mage, whistling as he does so to send Rionnag in pursuit.

Firinn's arrow strikes the mage in the back, causing him to stumble a bit, this creates an opening for Rionnag to slam down into him as well. Ducking around another corner the Mage goes out of sight....

Using up the last of his power, Khaz closed his wound as best as he could. Looking around he said ”Too bad on the mage. Would have liked to have kept him from causing any more harm. But well fought. Let’s strip these corpses or anything of value and keep moving. I don’t know how much shape we’re in if more traitors come our way.”

With the mage gone and the others fallen, Lorena kneels down to search the archer. As she does, she replies to Khaz, "Hopefully he won't be too much of a threat without his friends. I'm fine, and I've still got plenty of magic left, if you need it."

Once she's done searching, Lorena spends some time tending to the dwarf's wounds with her magic. She couldn't have him going down - she wouldn't have survived this long without him.


Firinn takes a stand atop a nearby pile of rubble, bow in hand and watches vigilantly as Rionnag returns from her pursuit.

"Yes it does have some sting doesn't it?" Aniva directs the question to Carson. "My House isn't to much further away we could get there in less than an hour with how slow I am."

Aniva points the way forward and starts to move forward towards where she indicated her home was. After about 30 minutes you get to the door of Aniva's home, it is a smaller home, the Front door is closed.

"Best that we do." Firinn agrees. "Too many strange things have happened around here for us to be complacent."

Lorena decides not to follow Khaz into the house, in case there are people inside that could assume the worst. Instead, she stays and keeps watch outside.

Firinn likewise positions himself by one of the front windows, getting the best line of sight he can.

Carson flicks a blue fire light onto the end of his wand as they enter the house to make sure nothing can catch them by surprise in the darkness.

Entering the house you can see that it is a modest building. 2 doors come of the main building, Aniva looks relieved to be home but still nervous.

"Irabeth, Are you home?" Aniva sits down at the table putting her leg up to rest the wound.

Khaz stayed silent as he waited for a response...or for a demon to attack.


Some Light Streams in through the windows but Carson's light makes the room brighter. No response comes to Aniva's call but you can tell from the outside that the house isn't big enough for no one to hear.

A door to the north and a door to the south are both closed.

"Our room is that one." Aniva points to the one to the south. "Guess she isn't here, if there is any food you are welcome to it."


"Would she have left a note or something?" Firinn asks, having moved into the doorway. "Where would she go if not here?"


"In our room maybe?" Aniva replies, pain written all over her face, the group hasn't done a lot of walking but her hiding while you were under attack and being unable to move quickly causes great pain.


Opening the door you see a modest bedroom, the best is big enough for two people to sleep close to each other, there is a single night stand. There are two foot lockers, there is a set of cupboards on your right as you enter the room.

Khaz entered and looked around, trying to see if there was any evidence of a struggle that might explain her absence.

Firinn continues to survey the room from the doorway, as Rionnag settles on the windowsill outside and watches the street.

Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10

"Do you two have a meeting point in the town? Somewhere she might have left a note?" He asks, since the house seems to be turning up a blank.


"Here, there should be a secret cabinet just to your right as you enter the door." Aniva says.


Perception Khaz: 1d20 + 5 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 + 5 = 12
Perception Firinn: 1d20 + 8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 8 + 5 = 20

Not finding a secret compartment both Men continue to check.

Perception Khaz: 1d20 + 5 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 5 = 15
Perception Firinn: 1d20 + 8 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 8 + 5 = 20

Perception Khaz: 1d20 + 5 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 + 5 = 15
Perception Firinn: 1d20 + 8 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 8 + 5 = 29

Firinn eventually finds the compartment, inside is a note and 5 potions


Firinn reads the note, letting someone else examine the potions.


Firinn:

Aniva,
I don't know if you will make it here but I have left you 2 potions to heal your wounds and 3 to make you invisible. I have gone to Defender's Heart as the Eagle Knights and any of the rest of the Military are Holding out there. The Password is "Silver Strong", hurry there as I need to know your safe.

"We'd best move on to the Defender's Heart as quickly as we can." Firinn says, offering the letter and the potions to Aniva. "If you take these do you think you can make it today? I'm sure Irabeth would like to see you again as soon as you can." For the first time the scarred and battered man smiles a little.

"It's good to have someone like that, someone to look forward to seeing you again."


As Khaz and Firinn step back into the kitchen a massive Orc appears out of thin air.

"YOUR DEAD BODY WILL BE MINE, YOUR WIFES TEAR WILL BE MY PRIZE."

A massive looking Ranseur drops towards Aniva from across the table.

Chop: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 242d4 + 5 ⇒ (3, 2) + 5 = 10

The heavy blade Chops down knocking Aniva to the ground

Dont see the orc on the map, can I reach him? Will provoke if I have to

Khaz moves in on the Orc, who swings his weapon at Khaz as he moves in.

Ranseur: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 132d4 + 5 ⇒ (1, 2) + 5 = 8

Khaz avoids the blow but it puts him off balance and his blow strikes harmlessly off the armor of the Orc
