The Mariner looks around for another floating head. "Like they can hear and see us? Can't one of you blind it somehow?"

Brother get back into the shop and drops down 200 GP's from his beltpouch. He grabs the Sharktoothed (Masterwork) sword and gets back to the group with sword in hand -- which he passes onto Mariner.

Without speaking, he mouths - To The Manor multiple times and leads the way East-ish to the Manor.

So, you were asking about my fascination with doors and seeing through them.....my explanation needs to begin with famous quotes such as, "Know yourself, know your enemy and you shall win a hundred battles without loss - said by The Sun (Tsu). Or "Every breath you take, every move you make, I'll be watching you -said by The Sting... or....

GM, if we make it to the Manor unmolested please see my arrows for what we check out first and second. If my question is interrupted with an ambush as they detect that we are Zagging.... then we will have combat in the streets.

Fearless' eyes glaze over as Brother Butterfly begins is explanation in quotes. "Don't deflect there pervert." He smiles for once in a long time.

Cats will walk with the party for a bit, but then at an appropriate spot, ditch them and hide so he can see if they are being followed. He will hide and wait about 5 minutes to see if anyone is following them from a distance.

If no one comes, he will dash to catch up to the party.

He pauses. As if to clarify which side of the theology debate that he falls on. I find it interesting to note that later reports on this “Master of the House” found him and his wife trolling through the sewers.
He smiles -his toothy smile- and curles his mustache by wringing it around the fat of his finger and then taking the time to roll the points between his finger pads.

Cats hides off the road/path, crouching low and ready to scamper away if he is seen. He waits to see who follows them, if anyone.

It's possible this is all in Fearless' cat. Full of crazy as it might be.

Fearless drifts off at brother Butterfly's ramblings as he attempts to shine his perverted ways into a way of light and not at all creepy. "Uh huh. Nudge nudge. Wink, wink." Fearless holds both hands up as if in a stick up and feigns surprise. "Whatever floats Desna's boat. I get it. She gets her rocks off through you." He continues on.

As the conversation continues between The Watchmen, Brother Butterfly contemplates things during the walk to The Manor.
If you think that my ability to Doorsight is creepy, how about the fact that you hear voices in your head (not unlike Pinkie)? But rarely, and totally unexplained as to it’s source?
Good for you, I have been thinking long and hard about it. My brilliant mind has possibly figured out the critical difference. But, to explain it, I need props.

And Brother sees the props that he needs. He moves off to a local house as he spies a chicken coop. He reaches in, to the clucking chagrin of the coop residents, and pulls out two eggs.
See, this brown egg and the shape of it’s shell?

He shows all the good looking and maturely formed Brown egg.
This egg represents our minds. The minds of most of the people in Thrushmoor. This egg he holds up in his left hand.
Then, he holds up a very similar brown egg in his right hand.
Now this egg …
And he drops the egg to the ground. It’s shell smashes and ooze and yellow yolk spill forth. The egg is a mess on the ground.
….This egg best represents Fearless’s mind. THAT’s why he can hear voices.
And Brother laughs a hearty laugh. A laugh that he tries to stifle as he doesn’t want to give away their position in the silent dark night,


Cats slips away as the other Watchmen continue through town, eyes scanning the shadows, senses on alert from Fearless’ ramblings of voices in his head.

Cats watches the streets from the shadows between two shops. His elven sight pierces the darkness, seeing what no human could, but he sees nothing, and the silence is deafening.

Cats flinches from the sharp warning and ducks just as something zips past his ear.

Suddenly, appearing out of thin air, Risi is standing in the street about twenty feet away. She holds a hand crossbow point, a look of dumbfounded surprise on her face as she beholds a shot that shouldn’t have missed a target caught dead to rights.

”You lucky old bastard.” She mutters.

Meanwhile, a few streets over...

Fearless is just starting to rant about the voices in his head again when he and Brother Butterfly notice something strange on the wall of a nearby building. The drab, ash colored paint of the structure begins to swirl like mist in a soft breeze. Through the mist appears the eerily familiar sight of a strange city. Figures move in the mist, then suddenly jump forth, weapons in hands and eyes gleaming like an owl at night.

Before they can act the attackers are on them, swinging small clubs.
”Take the priest first!” One of them cries.

Only two are close enough to attack in the surprise round.
Sap vs Butterfly: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Desna’s luck may not have prevented the ambush, but Binter’s armor deflects a pair of blows aimed at Brother Butterfly’s gleaming head.

Fearless stops as the voices return. The cracking of the egg does indeed seem to crack open the shell of his mind. "S@!&! They are still watching us. They are close by be on guard!" He draws his wand and dagger as he leaps at every shifting shadow.

Seeing the men leap from the strange mist Fearless steps back, releasinga pair of magical missiles from the wand. Twin orbs of energy appear to build at the tip as they release at point blank range into the man's chest.

Otherwise if he didn't have time to draw the wand before he will draw the wand as the surprise round.

Brother sees the tactics, and moves to just the right spot to go back to back with Mariner. Trying his best to keep those that will try to assault them from surrounding him and stabbing him where he doesn't have his shield up.
Brother has his mace out and shield, but is actually ducking and dodging attacks.
5 foot step, then full defense. AC is now 20.

Brother Butterfly raises his shield defensively as Fearless uses his new wand to blast one of the cultists.

The cultists surround Brother Butterfly and swing their clubs..

Down the street Risi faces off against Cats alone. With her crossbow failing her she draws a dagger and hurls it before Cats can prepare himself...

If it makes you feel better, you totally had us ambushed. We were totally fooled. It's just that Desna loves her Watchmen and doesn't want them killed! She's giving her cosmic pawn a bit o' luck!

Seeing at how effective his "defensive posture was", Brother continues to try and weave and keep the shield between himself and his foes.

Cats finally moves, feeling like he’s been frozen in the aether for the past week. Whether it was shock at being surprised by an old...flame? Foe?...or something else, Cats can finally act, rolling to standing, facing Risi. His bow trains on Risi.

Fearless' dagger juts out of his grasp as he finally is able to slink away, finding a small glimmer of weakness in the assassin.

Oh, I am so glad that having "Stupid Traits" are allowed in the Cult of Hestor. Your attempts to gang up on Me- the weakest of the Watchmen- has allowed The great and powerful Mariner to unleash his skills on you.

Brother Butterfly keeps his shield up and taunts the cultists while Fearless and the Mariner stab and slash them. Two fall to their wounds, just as two more round the nearby corner of the building.

”Damned thing sent us a block away!” One growls as they move in to aid their evil companions.
”Finally! Get the old bastard, he killed Dura!”

Brother Butterfly focuses on helping rid Mariner of the person flanking him. BB aims to do his best to undermine the enemy from using their limited skills. So, he smashes the grunt with the red sash.
