Fearless grabs some of the men below as noone seems to listen to him. "Find some weapons, wands, anything. Hurry." He shoves the man. "We need help up top or everyone is dead."

Feraless makes sure the man is on his way and darts back upstairs, dagger in his hand.


Upstairs...

Fearless grabs a man and yells instructions, sending him downstairs for help. Only after he turns does his realize it was his old roommate Loic.

The Mariner grabs the dagger from the frozen guard and plunges it into the penanggalen. The head shrieks in surprise and pain!

Lady Winter uses her magic to heal the Mariner.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 10

Guard will: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
The frozen guard’s eyes dart around, but his body remains frozen.

The other guard feints at the penanggalen, giving the Mariner an opening. +2 to next attack.

Downstairs...

”Fools! Behold, his power!” The Yellow-Eyed Man says, stepping out of the circle of attackers and raising his hands. His black coat seems to shed darkness, causing light within the temple dim!
Darkness spell - now dim lightning conditions. 20% miss chance. Though it’s complicated, from what I can find this seems to effect elves with low light vision too. Concealment thwarts sneak attacks and AoOs.

The Mirrored Woman touches her temple and gestures at Shevan...

The roguish sorcerer grabs his head in pain, but stays in the fight.

Trying to take advantage of the deep shadows cast by the Yellow-Eyed Man, the female cultist ducks under a pew..

Brother sees his opportunity. The lights dim, and he can make a move out of being the wrong kind of sword Sandwich.
I will go help Mariner. I have just the right oil to put on a weapon to work against the Penangglen. Plus, I still have my garlic wreath.

Brother looks quickly for a larger sword or something to grab and then make a dash to the stairway.

Spoiler:
GM If he doesn't see anything, he double moves up the stairs - ready to pro-offer his magical mace as soon as he oils it or a long sword with align weapon next round. Also, since it's dim and he doesn't provoke an attack of opportunity.

Lastly, I can move 80 total feet with a double move. (no armor on and I have Traveler domain)I placed BB where I think he should be. DO my super nifty and magical boots help with stairs? if they do-- I can get 10 feet closer!


Downstairs...

Brother Butterfly leaves to aid his allies upstairs. Cats cuts into the Yellow-Eyed Man again, but even with a solid blow his blade is less than fully effective. Neglected damage reduction before. Applying now.

Denman and Winter’s Guards take on the Female Cultist...

Brother gets up the stairs. He is a juxtraposition, fat and slow in his strides, yet the space he passes is significant. He moves up the stairs and applies the special oil that will make the weapon "Good" in the eyes of the Axis.

Take this weapon (Mace or if I found a long sword) Winter or her soldier and use it to crush this Penanngelen! It is specially ordained to harm her!

He gets to the top of the stairs and passes on the weapon.


Winter looks to Brother Butterfly and his weapon. ”That won’t help. We need silver edged weapons!” .

BB moves to position to try and maybe help Mariner with Luck or the Wand of curing. BB drops the Mace and starts to pull out the wand.

Denman and Winter’s Guards Head for the main doors to confront the Mirrored Lady.

Winter, We might need to change spots. Mariner could be on death's door - he's talking non-sense. With this Wand, I can hurt the vile beast.

GM, Is the creature grappling Mariner and thus wouldn't be able to do an AoO if BB were to cast a spell -like Luck? Of is the creature in a special ability grapple? My goal is to give Mariner Luck next round, or use the CLW Wand.


BB: Yes, both are considered grappled, which prevents AoOs.

Upstairs...

Fearless hurls his dagger to distract the penanggalen while the Mariner nearly eviscerates the creature.

Brother Butterfly Moves up and around the close quarters of the belltower and gives a prayer to Desna to Mariner.
Oh Goddess of Travel and Chance. Give Mariner that chance of hope and survival. Give him the wherewithall to strike true!

BB grants Mariner Luck. Mariner gets to reroll any D20 rolls this upcoming round. I moved him to be behind Mariner.

The Mariner shoves his silver dagger deep into the penanggalen’s eye and twists, destroying its undead brain.

Lady Winter grabs the unfrozen guard. ”Quick! We should help the others downstairs!” She says, and they both descend.

The frozen guard finally breaks free from that penanggalen’s magic and follows.

Downstairs...

The Mirrored Lady steps back from her attackers and directs a wand at Denman...

A blazing ray of fire takes him in the chest and he screams in surprise and pain.

Then, out of the darkness, a bolt flies..

He wants to stay here a moment and take a deep breath, but the others make their way down the stairs. Rightfully worried that there is still an impressive enemy alive in the ManthattalksaboutheYellowSign.
move Brother down the initiative list. but as soon as the stairs are partially clear, he also double moves. 80 feet. GM can you please move me as I don't know if the boots help on the stairs terrain

Cats ensures the Yellow-Eyed Monster doesn’t return from the dead again.

Outside, a guard fights the Mirrored Lady..
Mace: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

The other guard tries to pull the bolt from his neck but passes out from blood loss. Denman grabs his collar and drags him inside. ”Help! Help!”

Wren, still shouting encouragement, moves to help, using a spell to stop the bleeding.
Cure Light Wounds: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8

Cesadia and her agents move to take on the Mirrored Lady.

Shevan casts a spell to light the area and points toward the bridge. ”There’s someone over there!”

Meanwhile, Fearless and Brother Butterfly follow Lady Winter and her guards down the stairs. The Mariner takes a riggers shortcut, rappelling down the side. He turns to see a blonde woman nearby. She wears a long dark coat, carries a hand crossbow, and wears his sword, sheathed over her shoulder.

She smiles grimly, then turns and runs off into the dark.

Surrounded and alone, the Mirrored Lady fights on, pointing her wand at Allard...

Cats picks up the head, glaring at those who won’t help with the easy simple tasks, and moves 20’ to the south (out the door). He holds the head aloft.

”This one refused Catrenrae’s offer at redemption!” Cats cries to assorted evils outside the door. ”Submit now and you will be given a chance at redemption, otherwise, we will offer you the sword! Yellow eyes is no MORE!”

The Mariner's shoulders sink as he sees the woman running into the night, "Crap..." He turns his rage towards the skirmish sounds from around the corner and dashes across the lawn, naked, weapon in hand, dagger in the other.

Brother moves his feet to the downstairs area and out the side door to the lawn entrance to the church.
He sees the current fight, and offers some help to one he knows won't be in melee.
Cresedia- come here. Desna has blessings that will fit you well. Not as nicely as the double-button up trentchcoat you are currently wearing - but luck will shine on you and in your smile.

He gives this smile - like he said something coy and semi-romantic - but the timing of this death defying fight and the come-on could make the situation awkward.

if Cresedia comes to within reach of BB, he uses Luck on her.


Cats steps outside with a grim trophy and offer for redemption. It is not accepted.

Lady Winter’s guard is joined by Cesadia’s agents, who move in with mace and blade on the Mirrored Lady..

Brother Butterfly calls for Cesadia and she moves to him for Desna’s blessing of luck. Cesadia fires her crossbow..

...but misses her target by a hair!

Fearless, Lady Winter, and her guards arrive on the scene just as the Mariner emerges from the darkness. A scream issues from one of the survivors near the door at the sight of the grizzled naked old man.

The Mirrored Lady laughs at her inevitable doom and unleashed another scorching ray from her wand at Allard.

Damage: 4d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 2, 5) = 15
The ray takes him straight in the chest and he goes down!

Fearless' shorter legs have a much harder time keeping up. His breath is nearly ragged from the several flights of stairs.

"Even....the....fat...one...runs....faster than.....me..."

He finally catches up to the rest of the group outside and skids to a half when he sees so many dead and the still naked Mariner grappling his foes. He shudders.

"That's something you can never unsee."

I don't run. Running is very unbecoming. But while you are wrong about me running, you are so VERY right that what I can never unsee from The Mariner is ....... I.... I am shocked, for I'm without words to describe. Anything I want to say will be taken in the most base of fallic references.

An Brother isn't too far off about him not running. He looks like he moves slow. He IS not dexterous. But some blessing of Desna just makes him cover lots of ground with a lazyman's walk. Maybe it's long leg strides, maybe it's mystic. but you have been with BB for over 2 weeks and the man does not run. He weebles, he wobbles, he has occassionally fallen down - but he doesn't run.
