With Sir Florace's rope, Arden is able to climb out of the pit without too much trouble.
The construct also does not recognize Sir Florace's crest. "Invalid input. Please present crest for passage."

Sharpe#762 |

On further recollection, I remember a plaque on the wall in the room with the raven. I'll go back and get it.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (15) + 9 = 24
Sharpe tries to take the plaque off the wall.

DM Puppet Master |

Sharpe makes it back across the acid pit. He grabs the crest. It's rather awkward to carry: a circle about 2.5 feet in diameter and weighing 50lbs.
Sharpe, carrying it will put you in to a heavy load. This means your mass Dex bonus to AC is +1 and you take a -6 penalty to all Str and Dex checks. So if you want to get across the acid again with it, you'll need to make another check.
Some time ago (maybe an hour-ish?) you heard a loud crash, like a landslide. You didn't see any obvious source, but the kobold activity increased and seemed to scatter somewhat. You went into the cave, making your way past a collapsed-looking area. You were about to get into a confrontation with a couple of kobolds when you were all attacked by some undead creature. Being sneaky, you managed to hide as it went after the other two. You're in the same room as the creature, who seems per-occuppied with the way you came in (where the other kobolds ran away). You're next to a door. It's locked.

Sharpe#762 |

Acrobatics: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Sharpe puts down the crest, crosses the acid and returns to the room with everyone. He says, "There's a heavy crest that we need to carry across the acid. Perhaps Tiger should get it since he's pretty strong and dextrous and not too injured. You may want to drop some of your gear to make it easier."

Tiger Sherman |

Tiger grumbles, but he puts down his weapons, takes off his armor, and goes to grab the crest. The whole process takes about 5 or 10 minutes, as he insists on doing it neatly.
Tiger's medium load starts at 59 lbs, and he's lost his ACP, so
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
He puts his armor and weapons back where they go before dragging the thing the rest of the way back to the golem.

DM Puppet Master |

When you approach a bend in the hallway, you start to hear voices. A quick peek around the corner reveal four figures. The first is a half-elf garbed in a brilliant white raiment, with a golden trillium painted on his breastplate. The same flower forms the crossguard of his bastard sword. The second appears human, dressed in rough brown leather armor wearing several bandoliers strapped about his chest and carrying a battered musket against his shoulder. The third is a pale man with long silver hair wearing a ragged grey cloak. He almost appears to be sniffing at the air with his strangely snake-like nose. The last is a fuzzy looking man with hair and a moustache the color of orange rust. Many weapons of dubious quality have been strapped to the back of his armor.
The fuzzy man seems to be lugging something circular and heavy looking towards you. Or rather, towards a large four-armed construct with three legs that stands before you in the middle of the hallway.
Also note that even with your stealth check, you're not going to be able to hide in such a small hallway if the other players go through it. If you plan on revealing yourself to them, go ahead and describe it including your appearance and anything you say to them.
With a whirrrrre click sound, the construct appears to scan the crest. "Input: Accepted. Passage: Granted." It then steps back against the wall and sags slightly, as it appears to go into a dormant state.
Sorry, but if people wish to proceed into the next room immediately, I'm going to need to know what Aki is going to do before doing that.

Tiger Sherman |

Ooh, Tiger is all about making people jealous.

Once the group has been granted passage by the construct, they continue onwards. The next door is unlocked.
Also, you can read the above spoiler since you're already in the room.

Tiger Reflex: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
As Tiger enters, he fails to notice the tripwire across the door, but he manages to catch himself before falling prone.
Note: The rest of the party is not aware of Aki hiding in the corner.
Aki: Please update your status line like everybody else to include at least you ACs, HP, saves, and Init. Also, it looks like you haven't included your medium encumbrance penalty into your skill checks. It's -3 to all Dex and Str skills and your max Dex bonus to AC is +3, meaning your current AC is 17 and not 19. Also, your base speed goes down to 20 feet.

Distracted as most of you are by Tiger's fall, only hawk-eyed Sharpe notices the strange humanoid creature starting to lumber towards the group, its pallid flesh stretched tightly over its starved frame.
Sharpe and Aki both act before it in the surprise round. Remember that you can only take 1 action in a surprise round, so unless you charge, you cannot move AND attack.

Ghoul Fever: Bite—injury; save Fort DC 13; onset 1 day; frequency 1/day; effect 1d3 Con and 1d3 Dex damage; cure 2 consecutive saves. The save DC is Charisma-based.
A humanoid who dies of ghoul fever rises as a ghoul at the next midnight. A humanoid who becomes a ghoul in this way retains none of the abilities it possessed in life. It is not under the control of any other ghouls, but it hungers for the flesh of the living and behaves like a normal ghoul in all respects. A humanoid of 4 Hit Dice or more rises as a ghast.

Sharpe#762 |

Aki could probably drop/sell something later so she's not encumbered, maybe the rope since we now have three. Also, armor and weapons for a small character weighs half of normal. Finally, are we using the rule that someone is flat footed if they haven't had a turn in combat yet?
Sharpe moves to 30 ft. from the strange creature.

Aki could probably drop/sell something later so she's not encumbered, maybe the rope since we now have three. Also, armor and weapons for a small character weighs half of normal. Finally, are we using the rule that someone is flat footed if they haven't had a turn in combat yet?
I was just going off of what she said her carried weight is. But it's quite possible she didn't know the weight thing with small creatures, so it's useful to mention.
And yes, we're using the rule that if you haven't acted in combat, you're flat-footed. So currently the monster is ff'd to you and Aki, meaning if Aki were to attack, she'd get sneak attack against it even without flanking.

DM Puppet Master |

Ok, going ahead an botting Aki.
Damage: 1d4 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + (4) = 6

Out of nowhere, a small, dark figure charges at the beast, silent as a shadow. Catching the foul creature by surprise, her dagger strike flies true, stabbing it right in the neck. The monster attempts to retaliate against, but to no avail. The nimble newcomer deftly dodges away.

The stranger takes a short step putting the monster between herself and the cat, slashing with both hands.
Can I flank it with a 5 foot step? Also I did forget to half the weight of my armor and weapons. That was why everything was so heavy.

DM Puppet Master |

Aki: 5ft stepping would not give you flanking.
Tiger swings and misses, but between the combined fury of Aki and Sharpe, the beast manages to go down.

Aki, please give the rest of the party a physical description of yourself.

aki_shadowhunter |

The cloaked figure stoops to investigate the hole. She's short, and lithe at a mere 2'8" and 24lbs. She's clothed in a large thick black cloak. Every inch of her is wrapped in black bandages under dull black leather armor. Her face is a featureless shadow underneath the heavy hood.
Can I roll a profession mining on it? Though it's such a crappy roll it probably won't help.
Also I just realized where the map was. The map that was emailed to me originally didn't work, and I didn't see it in the DM's tagline til now. Sorry it's taking me a bit to catch on.
Profession Mining: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

DM Puppet Master |

Aki doesn't learn anything new.
And Sir Florace might want to re-read the initial description of the room under the spoiler, as that mentions the hole in the North wall.

Arden Svoen |

"We should take a look at what is beyond the hole." Finally noticing the small cloaked figure, Arden says "Hello. Thank you for your help. What can we call you?"

Arden Svoen |

"I am Arden, a scholar of many things. This man with much panache is Tiger. This elfish knight, Sir Florace, is a very good fighter. And this is Sharpe the sharp shooter. We are here to investigate the collapse and check for anything that needs rescuing. Would you care to assist us?"
After his introduction Arden turns towards the chests behind him. "You know I nearly forgot about these."

Tiger Sherman |

After his introduction Arden turns towards the chests behind him. "You know I nearly forgot about these."
Luckily, some of our characters never forget a chest.

DM Puppet Master |

The only thing Sir Florace can see is that the hole goes along for a while.

Tiger Sherman |

"Darkness does not trouble this one. Follow my lead?" And Tiger walks slowly into the tunnel, looking around carefully has he does.

A pair of low barricades made of timbers and rocks partially block the passageway, which opens into a larger cave beyond.
It will require a climb check if you wish to clamber over it.

Tiger Sherman |

Climb: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Tiger attempts to gracefully scramble over the barricade, his tail swishing through the air for balance.
And then stops, remembering that Arden has mentioned the chests in the room. "On second thought, yes, Arrden, we should see what is een those chests—since it does not seem likely that anyone else will return to this ruin after us."

DM Puppet Master |

1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
When Tiger clambers over the barricade, a stalactite swings down like a pendulum to smack him in the face. 8 damage

DM Puppet Master |

You actually can't get to the chests because there's a metal cage around them. The cage does not appear to have a door or a lock.

Disable Device: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

It doesn't seem to have a way to get in. Aki says fiddling with the cage. Can anyone tell if it's magic?
Aki looks around the room to see if there is anything that might be a key or lever to open the contraption.

DM Puppet Master |

I'm not sure what the Disable Device check is for...

DM Puppet Master |

Sharpe, and anybody who makes a DC12 perception check (except for Sir Florace, who has already failed) can read the above spoiler.

The slots are basically lines, a couple of inches long, less than an inch wide, and maybe about a foot deep.
