Theodric Pepromeno |
Player Name: Jason
Character Name: Theodric Pepromeno
PFS #: 209940-1
Faction: Sovereign Court
Day job roll: Is this for the end of the adventure? Theo may attempt a faction goal roll instead.
Ansha Saerályien |
Player name: Ansha
Character name: Ansha Saerályien
PFS #: 16188-2
Faction: Dark Archive
Day job roll (profession: courtesan): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Ansha Saerályien |
Clerical error on the Day Job roll. My Profession is at a +3, not +7 (I think I got Profession confused with Perform), so that's a 19.
Ansha Saerályien |
His Swashbuckling Finesse ability counts as Weapon Finesse for that purpose.
DM PatheticWretch |
Yep, I was missing something. Thanks. I haven't played a Swachbuckler, so I guess I'll need to get to know the class better.
EDIT: One more possible downer, though, is that the Heirloom Weapon trait gives proficiency with a specific, non-masterwork weapon only. Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you upgrade to a different weapon (masterwork or magical), you are not proficient with it because it's only for that specific weapon, right?
Dan McCallum |
That's unfortunate. I guess I'll need to take exotic weapon proficiency if I have to use another weapon or maybe redo my class to not use a katana/slashing grace.
Also I guess I can try and just get a masterwork transformation on it at some later point.
DM PatheticWretch |
Also, could I ask all the players to make a "Hotbar" that shows widely-used stats?
Please Edit your Profile. Add your Race, then on the Classes/Levels line, add something like this (but modified to your own stats):
Sorcerer 1 | HP 9/9 | AC 14; Tch 13; FF 12 | F +2; R +2; W +0 | CMB-3; CMD 9 | Speed 20 ft | Init +4 | Sling: +3 (1d4-2) | Perc +6
This will make it a lot easier for me to run combat without digging through your character sheets.
Thanks!

Is there a way to subscribe to get posts via e-mail? I ended up using the rss feed with blogtrottr.com to get e-mail'd, but if there is a way to do this within paizo.com itself I would rather use that.
Jivan |
Just letting you know that my Consortium Compact game finally wrapped (combination of cold player dice and hot GM dice slowed things down), so Jivan has his GM credit chronicle sheet, his wand, and a few hundred GP to lend to folks at low, low interest rates.
Ansha |
Ansha determines the bundle is magical while Jivan uses the powers of his mind to draw it to the top of the pit.
It turns out to be a grayish-blue cloak, which has withstood the passage of time well, perhaps because of its magical nature.
The goal there with Ansha staring at the cloth bundle was to get the information from Round 2 and Round 3 of her Detect Magic spell, and/or to identify the magic item if possible.
Detect Magic: You detect magical auras. The amount of information revealed depends on how long you study a particular area or subject.
1st Round: Presence or absence of magical auras.
2nd Round: Number of different magical auras and the power of the most potent aura.
3rd Round: The strength and location of each aura. If the items or creatures bearing the auras are in line of sight, you can make Knowledge (arcana) skill checks to determine the school of magic involved in each. (Make one check per aura: DC 15 + spell level, or 15 + 1/2 caster level for a nonspell effect.) If the aura emanates from a magic item, you can attempt to identify its properties (see Spellcraft).

potion of barkskin, potions of cure light wounds (2),
potion of feather step, potion of vanish, scroll of
entangle, scroll of gust of wind, scroll of identify, scroll of
mage armor (CL 6), scroll of obscuring mist, wand of burning
hands (CL 3rd, 4 charges), wand of cure light wounds (CL 3rd,
8 charges), acid, alchemist’s fire (2), holy water, smokestick,
tanglefoot bags (2), thunderstone;
On the subject of the contents of Janira's pack, here are my views.
The wand of burning hands and the scrolls of gust of wind, identify, mage armor, and obscuring mist are all useful to Ansha, as would be the potion of vanish. They'd likely be of use to Basayus as well.
The CLW wand and the holy water are probably best off in Theo's hands. Kame or Stonetree would most likely benefit from the potions of feather step and cure light wounds. They'd also probably find the tanglefoot bags and thunderstone useful.
Jivan and Basayus have UMD, so the scroll of entangle is probably most useful to them.
The smokestick, acid flask and alchemist's fire are probably useful to anyone more or less equally.
Ansha |
Unless anyone protests, Theo takes the potion of vanish, wand of cure light wounds, and an alchemist's fire.
No objections from me, anyway. If there are no objections, Ansha will take the scrolls of gust of wind, identify, mage armor and obscuring mist. If Basayus doesn't want it, she'll take the wand of burning hands also, though she does have two scrolls of burning hands on-hand already.

FYI, I will be leaving on a trip to DC and upstate New York tomorrow for 10 days.
This is the last fight before we complete the scenario. I will hopefully be able to wrap this up during that time, but won't get chronicles to you until I'm back.
For anyone interested in what the rewards will be, The Confirmation awards the following: [1 XP (3 XP for a level), 2 PP, 430 gp, +____ gp day job].
For the new players, those 2 prestige points can be used to buy any one item up to 750 gp in value. Most often, each player buys a wand of CLW after their first scenario to provide for his or her own healing (even if you can't use it). Later on they can be used for important things like Raise Dead (I've needed before) or body retrieval, along with vanity items like your own country estate or opera house.
Also, I am planning to run my home group through First Steps and Wounded Wisp after this (minus Basayus and probably with one other player), and I'd like to invite Jivan and Ansha to stay on board for that, if interested.
We're almost done!
Jivan |
Since Jivan already has 1 xp, he'll be 2nd level after First Steps. I've played Wounded Wisp once already, but I think it was with a 2nd level character - I'll check. I may have to use another character.

Thanks, Kame.
In the meantime, you may want to look into your build. You can rebuild with no problems all the way to level 2, but I know that Heirloom Weapon trait only makes you proficient in a specific, non-masterwork weapon. I also know that Masterwork Transformation isn't allowed in PFS. So you may have a problem keeping your current katana relevant later on with that trait.
Anyway, just a thought.
Kame Kitsune |
Do you mind pointing me in the direction of where "Masterwork Transformation isn't allowed in PFS". From what I can find the rules actually have a special rule that allow Masterwork Transformation to carry over from session to session:
Spells
The following spells found in the Core Rulebook are not
legal for play and may never be used, found, purchased,
or learned in any form by PCs playing Pathfinder Society
Scenarios: awaken, permanency, and reincarnate.
All spells and effects end at the end of a scenario with
the following exceptions:
• Spells and effects with permanent or instantaneous
duration that heal damage, repair damage, or remove
harmful conditions remain in effect at the end of the
scenario.
• Afflictions and harmful conditions obtained during
a scenario remain until healed and carry over from
scenario to scenario (except in specific instances as
noted on Page 22).
• A character may have one each of the following spells that
carries overs from scenario to scenario: continual flame,
masterwork transformation, secret chest, and secret page.

Yeah I guess I was thinking both attacks hit him. Looks like the first missed, and even if it did hit he would have been unconscious after the first.
The mighty creature, seriously injured, steps back and tries to keep Stonetree off him, hitting him soundly and dropping the brawler into the dust with a thud.
battleaxe attack, entangled, shaken: 1d20 + 7 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 7 - 2 - 2 = 72d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 5) + 4 = 14
battleaxe attack, entangled, shaken: 1d20 + 7 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (17) + 7 - 2 - 2 = 202d6 + 4 ⇒ (6, 3) + 4 = 13
Yeah and those attacks shouldn't have worked since he was presumably disarmed:
Stonetree performs an adept maneuver to take the minotaur's axe
DM PatheticWretch |
Sorry for the mess-up...was trying to get out of town and forgot about the disarmed minotaur. Retcon: Stonetree is gored with a horn, but not unconscious, and Kame takes it down.
Still, I'm pretty swamped catching up at work this week. I'll try to get chronicles out this weekend. The next segment will hopefully come on line in about a week.
