Rounds Zero and One
While you prepare for the incoming enemies, Malnival attacks first with an acid glob, but his target sees it coming and sidesteps behind a column. Parity's taunt goes unrequited, as the man just continues cavorting around the throne.
As one, the corbies rush forward, splitting left and right to attack Malnival and Parity with sharp claws. Parity blocks and parries them, but Mal is not as lucky, taking a swiping rake across the arm.
Harlan shifts to get a clear line of fire on one corbie attacking Mal, and aims true despite the furor of melee.

Malnival lays into the wounded corbie with spell and sword, driving his rapier deep into its gut - a blow that would have dropped any humanoid, but amazingly the corbie fights on ferociously, albeit bleeding badly. Maeve shifts away from Mal, but cannot connect with her kick.
Heng leaps into action, hitting one of the foes on Parity with a flying kick to the stomach, though his follow-up punch hits only air. Parity slashes his falcata through the same target, laying open a terrible wound on its torso. Like Malnival's opponent, it keeps its feet despite its wounds.
Green and Yellow are staggered.
Round Two
The corbies counterattack with their sharp talons. Parity blocks and parries off several, but gets raked across the shoulder. Malnival is hit again, this time bloodied on the neck, while Maeve gets scraped along her upper leg.

Round Two, continued...
Harlan calls on Sarenrae's power to heal the group while you pair off against the corbies. Malnival hits his wounded foe again with a deadly stab and acid ball, but still it fights on until Maeve cracks its neck with a powerful spinning dance-kick.
Heng flips past a corbie, taking advantage of its half-dead state. It turns slowly to attack, but Parity drops it with a decapitating strike before its able.
As the corbies fall, dead, the red man stops dancing for a moment, saying,
"Corbies fall, dire fate.
Too dim to see the humor.
You should laugh at them!"
He points at Parity, muttering a mystic syllable and tracing a rune in the air. As if the funniest joke ever heard, Parity falls to the floor bellowing and choking in manic laughter. The red man begins frolicking again, mimicking Parity's laughter almost perfectly.
Round Three
The two remaining dire corbies attack. One lays into Parity, an easy target in his exposed state, landing both claws and rending them together, leaving grievous wounds. The other continues to harry Malnival, bloodying him some more.

Absolutely... using Parity's second roll value, he would have made the new saving throw. Disregard the laughing/prone part, and Parity can act normally on round 3. Damage to Parity would likewise reduce to 5 (from 11).
Note that ends the Inspire Courage...

Round Three, continued...
Harlan levels his crossbow at the red man, ready for the right moment. Malnival hits the nearest corby with rapier and spell to good effect, while Maeve spins and weaves into a new, inspiring dance - all the while skirting the wall and coming up behind Mal's foe.
Heng and Parity team up on the other corby, landing a couple of solid hits. The wounds do not seem to discourage the savage humanoids, but only drive them further.
The man snarls at Parity's retort and stops dancing. Standing on the arms of the throne, his form shifts, making you blink uncomfortably. A moment later, a black-feathered humanoid with a crow's head stands where the red Tian man just was. It emits a growling squawk while again pointing at Parity. Harlan fires his crossbow, attempting to interrupt the spell, but sinks the bolt into the throne instead. A ray of fire surges from the birdman's talon and hits Parity directly in the chest.

Dazzled a moment in the flash of fire, Harlan cries out, thinking Parity just bought it. He fires his crossbow at the leader, but he swoops off the throne to avoid the shot. When the motes clear, Harlan sees that Parity still stands, though verily scorched.
Malnival tries another spell-sword combination, but trips up his casting and loses the spell. He still lands a telling wound with his rapier, thought he resilient corby fights on. Maeve cracks a rib with a strong kick to its back, and besides a low squawk, it barely seems to notice. Heng drops the other corby with a crushing kick to the wishbone, and the foe slump to the ground.
Parity wastes no time charging the birdman, slashing his falcata across the enemy's torso; he screeches in pain.
"That's not in the play!
You're ruining the story,

He hops away from Parity, again casting a spell. A glimmering disk appears beside him, moving across his body. As it passes, the birdman disappears into the portal; a moment later, he is gone.

Post Combat
Despite its obvious use, the throne room remains dusty and cluttered in the corners, out of usual traffic. The door to the north is locked and barred with iron bands. The stairs on the east side go up.
Malnival's senses pick up irregularities in the wall to the north-west (10 feet west of the northern door). There is a secret door there.

Malnival staitens up and nods his head. "Yes, the distance traveled by the spell is relativly small but it is good enough to put take him anywhere in the keep, and maybe outside of the walls depending on how powerful he really is."
Yes, I have the key.

Parity collapses into the throne, dropping his shield and sword with a clatter. With a wheeze and a blood-flecked cough, he gasps out "Could use some help over here."

Maeve just shakes her head out, looking around. "Okay, that was odd." She starts rubbing her forehead. "What was that? I don't think it was another Dire Corby."

Maeve Haela |

Maeve's forehead rubbing continues. "My best guess...isn't really much. That looked like a Tengu, a race from Tian-Xia. This one must still be a really powerful sorcerer, they can't do that naturally."

Maeve Haela |

"Probably," Maeve says, quite obviously trying very hard not to get angry. "But why? What's the point in coming half-way around the world just to set up shop in an abandoned castle, throwing together a motely 'court' of monsters, and then putting a tavernkeeper into a coma when she gets close when no one else has ever had this happen to them before? The more we find out the less sense this makes. That isn't how it's supposed to work."
