I kinda figured that I'd leave it up to you guys when that happens. If you want to stay, by all means you're welcome to stay, just with a different character of course lol. If you feel like you just want to move on when you die, that's fine too. I'm not gonna sit here and force you to stay or tell you to gtfo, I'll let you decide that on your own terms.

I'm fine with you rolling behind the screen. Just don't forget to take into account proper stuff when rolling for us when it comes to perception and stuff. And also, if you want to roll for my guy whenever a spell is cast (I will -always- be making a spellcraft check if I see someone cast something), thats fine too. Or, I can do it myself, up to ye.
The only thing I'd have to be against rolling behind the scenes for is if you're going to fudge the dice in our favor. Don't fudge it in our favor. I like a challenge, and if I get an unlucky crit that kills me, then so be it! lol
DM Kyle |
I'm fine with you guys making your own rolls, that's no problem. I just want to make sure what you're comfortable with. And I've only had to fudge rolls once, and that was only because the party had come up against a dragon that killed the cleric in a couple of hits, and well, they pretty much couldn't even touch the dragon lol. I don't like early adventure TPKs, they don't really show a good example for the rest of the adventure or campaign.

While I don't want him to be booted from the campaign or anythin', we haven't heard heads or tails from Raor since Saturday. Perhaps, since he's sick/busy, we can bring his character in whenever he can get back on to post, and continue with the story while we wait?
I mean we're fighting goblins right now, it would make sense that he'd join up later after the attack anyways. (Perhaps he's captured by the town guard and we 'recruit' him)
I'm not trying to be impatient or anything, but I was hoping we could get moving along a wee bit faster than we are lol. Raor can join in when he's able to. I don't think he's going to miss much anyways.
Whatcha think Kyle?
DM Kyle |
I mean it's really not that hard when you get the hang of it, it's just trying to apply theory to wiring diagrams that make you go "Wha...." lol. So yea lol. I'll probably have days where you don't hear from me because 6 hours of school on top of 4 hours working in a race shop will just about kill me lol. Glad to see you're doing better though Raor. It's excellent to see that you'll live to fight another day, huzzah!

Not a problem lol. Though if I may make a recommendation, the coordinate system (A1, B2, etc) would help a ton for allowing people to choose where they wish to go. Wouldn't take much effort to get it set up, either.
With it there, there would be far less confusion about where someone wishes to move.
For example:
Starting Position: D16
Move Action: Move to D22
Standard Action: Yadda yadda
Ending Locatoin: D22
Its how my other group is doing it, and so far its worked wonders for keeping everyone organized. Even if I almost died in the first combat session. XD

Due to the fact Raor is a goblin, his attack would catch them flat footed as they wouldn't expect him to attack them. In either case however, the attack still missed, so they're more or less confused to all hell for right now. Due to this, I'll grant them being flat footed until each goblins turn comes up in which case they can react.

Though I understand the reasoning behind it Ars, I'd prefer that you remove that post please, as we've only just begun combat and several things could change, such as amount of enemy hit points or numbers, combatant positions, etc. etc. If someone won't be able to post during combat, please state so and instead say that you'll have do delay your actions until the end of initiative order if you believe that your lack of posting will interfere with those already in wait for their action to take place. Understandable?

Probably not much, like 1d2 or 1d3 at best. Probably nonlethal at that, unless it has a particularly large piece of bone.
Maybe one point of fire damage if its really hot, too. Thats to the person throwing it and the person getting hit by it. :3
Its also an improvised weapon, so -4 on your attack (unless you have Throw Anything or Catch Off Guard, at least) and it only would crit on a natural 20 with a multiplier of x2.
Thats what I'd rule if it came up in one of my games, at least. Kyle may say otherwise.
I had someone use a boat as a weapon once.. they dropped a rowboat on someone's head. Because the person wasn't expecting it, and the person dropping it was a rogue, I even allowed it to be a sneak attack. XD

XD Guys, I'm dying here.
Goodness, gracious. Raor, you're hilarious. Those poor, poor goblins...
Istakkos, I can't even...that is just hysterical and amazing. Both the fact that someone did that and that you allowed it!

That same person desperately wanted to sneak attack someone with a cannon, too, but never got around to doing it. He'll have a better chance in my Skulls and Shackles campaign, though. I also mentioned in my campaign (this was a previous homebrewed one with the sneak attack boat), that I had planned on introducing tanks (driven by magic-hating gnomes) eventually.. he really wanted to sneak up to someone and sneak attack them with that too.
My group comes up with the most random of things sometimes. Like the time the fighter ran out onto the ship's deck wearing -nothing- and beat some sahuagin to death with his fists. Ass-naked. Good thing he took Improved Unarmed Strike.. then there's the dwarf. In both campaigns (he brought back his char to the skulls and shackle one), we have had a Male Dwarf Witch who uses the hex that allows his beard to be 10 ft long, use his intelligence as the beard's strength, and who has a bucket filled with seawater on his back where he keeps his octopus familiar. He also heavily uses the cackle hex, and is often seen (er, heard), in the background, cackling, to allow the party members to have Fortune for an extended period of time. In the S&S campaign, he also has a peg leg. Back in my homebrew campaign around the level 5 or 6, the dwarf, who had the Flight Hex, was up in the air, flying, then decided to use a spell that allowed him to grapple someone with his beard. He grabbed the guy, flew 100-feet up in the air while singing "I can show you the world" and then dropped the guy to his death.
Best. Character. Ever.
