As of right now, I'm hoping that people will be able to post at least once a day, hopefully twice as I've seen that we can get on at least a couple of times a day. I won't fuss about a posting order unless it is a combat action, in which I want that in initiative order. If a free action is intended to be taken at some point during combat, please state at the end of your round when you're planning to attempt the free action, for example giving a good to go signal for another player to do something or waiting to give an immediate verbal response after the action of a particular character.
Also, if you haven't seen this adventure path, first I'd like for you to not look it up (don't want any suspense ruined lol) and for the possible few who have, you'll understand why I bring this up. There are some pretty grim and gruesome stuff in this, as well as possibilities for sexual tones as well. Though I would like to include these tones to give the story more flavor and depth, if you would prefer not to hear or see it, please let me know so I can keep it downplayed the best I can. That being said, it'll also affect how I portray certain characters as I like to flush them out to give them more of a personality for you to either hate them so much you want them dead or love them so much you'll want me dead if the they die lol. Secondly, I just don't really appreciate meta gaming. I don't mind the discussion of what's coming up for those who've played it, but just remember your characters haven't played it.
Now, with those two statements out of the way, I'd like to introduce a couple of house rules I usually use for my groups that allow for some more fun if you'd like to use them. I like to present them so that way you can have some more fun with both combat as well as story.
1. Automatic hits are a 5% chance. Critical hits become a 2.5% chance. So by theory, they really don't happen very often. But theory would also dictate that if you experienced that slicing someone's jugular twice and saw that they died or witnessed that acid ray dissolve the skull and melt the brain, you'd remember that as an effective way to take someone out. Therefore, for every confirmed critical hit, I'll allow an on the spot extra 5XP. 5XP may not sound like a lot, but if you're lucky, it pays off. However, because I've seen it before (seriously, we couldn't explain it) I do have to limit it to 10 per encounter. If it starts to happen again, we'll discuss the limits when the time comes.
2. When you do kill with that critical hit, you always knew what you were doing (even if you really didn't lol). If you get a confirmed critical, if that critical hit would kill the target, I'll allow you a short description of how you killed the target, be it decapitation or a lucky strike through the heart, or what ever your imagination may fancy. If it is a well enough description, I'll award an extra 5XP.
3. When it comes to story, I really do enjoy a good story. There will be plenty of opportunity for some verbalization between not only yourselves but with the other characters in the story as well. If you end up creating a dialogue that becomes outstanding or find a solution to a situation that normally would've ended in a very horrid fashion through role play, I'll award extra XP, to be determined by the act of course.
If you have any house rules that you would like to present for discussion, feel free and we can talk about them. If you like these, we can keep them, if not, then no worries, I just wanted to put them out there for general info.

The only issue I have with using Mythweavers is that I have to jury-rig the AC, Reflex, Initiative, and (Soon) the Knowledge Skills to use Charisma instead of Dex/Int. So you'll see either Misc bonuses or Dodge bonuses for the respective ones. You'll also see a massive penalty in CMD to get rid of the dodge bonus from my CHA, as my ability doesn't allow me to use my Cha for CMD.
Tis a bit confusing, but it'll work out in the end.

Sounds good to me as well!
As for the story itself, I know the general storyline (Won't spoil it), but I haven't read through anything, so I don't know the specifics. That being said, I'm not one to mix character and player knowledge. I've ran with extremely well built characters who roleplayed as dumb as bricks, shafting myself but having a helluva fun time (It was a Goblin, btw.)
As for darker tones, I'm all fine with that. I've been DMing the Skulls and Shackles AP, and lets just say that my players got.. extremely dark and brutal when they finally got their hands on one of the NPCs they've been wanting to kill. Multiple people went down the Evil Alignment end, and one guy got a 'favor' from Zon-Kuthon for his.. unintentional offerings of pain and suffering.
Anyhoo, the house rules sound fine, nothing game-changing really there. Heck my players and I generally run with Skills are auto-fail on 1's and auto-succeed on 20's (Within reason. No jumping to infinity [and beyond]), which has nearly shafted the players from time to time lol.
Lets do eeeet!

I have read, understood, and agreed with everything in the first post.
...I couldn't resist. I've been signing too many syllabuses/syllabi this semester.
I write a lot of pretty grim stuff on the side, honestly. So I believe that I will be able to handle it. I'm thrilled about you fleshing out the characters more.
The house rules sound fair to me. I can't wait to see how this goes!

So since I can't edit the first post anymore, I'm going to add more expectations here. When it comes to role playing, please refer to your character's actions in third person format. This way it can flow with a storyline feel to it. When you're interacting with another character, please use names each time so that no confusion occurs, especially in combat. It could turn pretty messy if you say "I attack him with my longsword", when nobody knows who him is. For those who know multiple languages, before using it, use this format: Character 1 says in Draconic <whatever message is being said.> This way we know what the language is and what it says. When it comes to anything out of character, please use this thread. If anything in game play is to be used out of character, it will consist of dice rolls, damage dealt, effects, remaining hit points or rounds of effect, and a delayed turn, action, or as stated before free actions. Please label these as OOC: <whatever information> down at the bottom of your post.

Making my mythweaver sheet now. I'm fine with the more graphic themes, if that's what you want to run. I have played through the first book of ROTR only, although I won't spoil anything. Also, the whole situation of me interacting with the party the first time was why I only took Goblin. I think this will be great. I'm ready for my +4 linguistics rolls to emulate common.
Expect a lot of accidental insults, misused words, bad grammar, and such. XD

I'm also ok with graphic and adult themes, you won't exactly be burning my virgin ears (eyes?). I'm down with your house rules, although I'm not sure how much impact they'll have it's a good concept. I should be up for two posts a day. I work graveyard shift EST, so mornings and evenings will be my usual post times.

"It might be nice having him around. You know, he sort of reminds me of this kid I used to know. He looks just like him. Well, maybe not exactly the same, but pretty close! Of course, that's a story for another time and another place."

Just talked with my brother. He hasn't decided on class yet but is going to be an assimar named Satinder Hawkes. Sound familiar Alexis? Lol
Sounds great! I love a good tie in for back stories.

Didn't mean to leave you out Dagnie, but I'm still trying to figure what exactly I want to throw at you. You're more than welcome to post something else that I can easily roll with, maybe interaction with a vendor, maybe a conversation with Zantus being as it is a Desnian celebration (I realized that I forgot to put that important piece of information in the opening introduction). Either way I've got plenty of ideas, I just have no idea as to which one to go with.
I'm still waiting on my brother to get on here, so if he doesn't show up today, we'll just keep going without him. Other wise we'll get him in at some point today. And then obviously you haven't posted yet Raorloud, so it's pretty much up to you as to how you want to interact here.
Dagnie Millstone
Not a problem, DM. I'm sorry that I didn't post something better. It was late, I'd been painting the house all day, and I just didn't want to get kicked out of the game, honestly.
I'll try and post something better today when I get the chance!
My apologies, again.

Why not glamered armor? You can make it look like anyyythin' ye want!
My guy is sticking with his Silken Ceremonial Armor pretty much. He'll even be wearing it when he uses Mage Armor (eventually), even if they don't stack.
Now his shield he'll be getting rid of sooner rather than later. He'll have a spell for that, eventually.
Dagnie Millstone
I'm going to make a quick post, but I'm fine with moving right along, personally.
I look forward to seeing your brother's character!
(Also, since we're finally done painting for the weekend, I should be able to post more. )
Dagnie Millstone
Alright, Raor. Hopefully, you're out and about for good reasons!
"Also, I'm not small..."
Edit: By good, I meant not needing to go to the pharmacy because you're sick, having to go to funerals, or other such events.
Ahem.
DM Kyle
That cracked me up Raor. I'll post tomorrow morning when I wake up, give some of you a chance to figure out what else you fancy to do. My brother was in the middle of a post when his net went bugtastic. So he'll post tomorrow morning as well. I'd hijack his account cause I'm sure you're getting sick of hearing me mention him, but I'm on my phone so it's a little difficult to do so lol.

Hey just a quick question Kyle - if one of our characters ever dies, how are you going to go about with a replacement? Do we have to sit out until other players die, or can we find a way to bring in a new character?
Mainly asking because in another campaign I'm playing in, we have 8 players and if you die, you die. You have to sit out until the group runs lower than 4 players. I doubt thats going to be the case in this one, but I be curious none-the-less.
I'm luckily not the kind of guy who gets sad/angry over a lost character. All it means is a new chance for a new interesting character. I've lots of ideas hehe.
