Ah, I took the increased DC into account, but not the multiple rolls. I don't actually see that called out explicitly in the Acrobatics description, but I expect it's clarified somewhere. Plus, it was a fun way to end things!
You know, for the life of me I can find documentation of that now either. I am *convinced* that I've read it, somewhere. But maybe I'm imagining that. The mind plays tricks...
Thanks for the game, Khel and company, looking forward to Part II.
For my Faction Journal Card: did we defeat an undead creature of at least CR 2?

Well, at least I didn't miss anything totally obvious in that ruling then.

Alas, no.

Wayne's note about retraining reminded me - did anyone level up after the last scenario? I don't think it'll affect what tier we play, but I want to be sure we're at the right APL.

Cool, thanks for sharing. Also for reffing. Off to a good start.

Hey gang - wanted to clarify something, which surprised and puzzled me a bit. This text appears in the Summary section of the second scenario in this series:
"At the conclusion of the previous adventure, the PCs had also discovered that Venture-Captain Nieford Sharrowsmith was likely deeper in the dwarven ruins of Ashkurhall [where you fought the kobolds], but exploring any further would require a mystic talisman held by gripplis in the Kaava Lands."
Of course, this was absolutely clear to you guys, right? Well, I missed it. I don't usually like to get too meta during a story (had a RL DM who did that all the time and drove me mad - but it's none of you!), but I thought the overall tale would make more sense if you understood why you were visiting the gripplis, and where Sharrowsmith is believed to be.

But it's a beaster egg hunt! It's supposed to be mysterious. :)

I'm glad my evil ways aren't going completely unappreciated.

Hey guys, I'm back and ready to go. That being said, This week is going to be insanely busy for me a few days.
Wednesday: Driving down to NYC to see Iron Maiden. I won't be checking the boards at ALL Wednesday until Thursday afternoon.
Weekend: Normally I'm pretty good about posting on the weekends, but I'm the chief referee for a tournament this weekend, and my tournament weekend begins right after school Friday, so I'll be off the boards Friday afternoon until Monday morning.

My week is slightly unpredictable as well, with kids on spring break, but I should be able to get the next scenario going in a few days.
Have fun at the show and the tournament, Chris! Sounds like a fun week.

Actually, the grippli might make pretty awesome trading partners. Torriki is going to see if he can talk Finyik or one of the other elders (who is a designated person of trading power) to see if they're willing to trade directly with the Exchange. Diplomacy: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20 No day job

The grippli are fairly dependent on Fort Bandu for trade. While the people of Fort Bandu are good and fair, the Krihirik would be happy to diversify their trading options and, after all you have done for them, the grippli are eager to trade directly with the Exchange. (I presume that's for a faction journal card? Or just for fun.)
Anyone else leveling up? Want to start us with the right tier and all that.
Also, who's got a chronicle from #6–09: By Way of Bloodcove? Doesn't have to be on this character. Having 1 or 2 of them at the table confers certain advantages in the scenario.

By way of Bloodcove is one of the few I don't have a chronicle for.

Thanks, Khel!
I do have the By Way of Bloodcove chronicle, not on this character obviously. That was my half-elf rogue's last adventure before he polymorphed into a human wizard.
Instrument is also leveling to 3rd.
| DM Khel |
Y'all let me know when you're leveled up and ready to go, I'll get a starting post up soonish.
Still need confirmation on one more Bloodcove chronicle beyond Instrument.

And we're off on part 3! A bit more of a dungeon crawl, but a fun one (at least I found it so).
| DM Khel |
I realized we need to calculate APL again, since some leveling occurred. We're looking at 2+2+2+3+4 = 13 / 5 = 2.6, which rounds to 3.
So, we're between subtiers with 5 players, which means we play high-tier with the 4-player adjustment. Sound okay?

As we get into the meat of this adventure, I would bring your attention once again to the letter from Ambrus Valsin, particularly the penultimate paragraph.

Tower shield cover question time. The description says "As a standard action, however, you can use a tower shield to grant you total cover until the beginning of your next turn. When using a tower shield in this way, you must choose one edge of your space. That edge is treated as a solid wall for attacks targeting you only."
Does the bolded bit mean that in the current situation, where Wayne is behind Bastion, that he does not benefit from the solid wall protection of the shield? So he'd only have soft cover?

Hey gang - I've heard that Google slides allows one to edit using mobile devices, and I thought I'd try it out for mapping, so I created a test map using Google Slides.
Anyone want to mess with it and see if you can move your token?

Works well for me.

Edit test successful, I've changed the map link to take us to the Google Slides map. Let me know if you have any issues with it.
Correction - edit test mostly successful, except Blayne moved the base map and revealed very secret things! Fixed it.

Test was sort of successful, but tricky enough that it may not be any easier than waiting or asking someone else to move for your PC.
Just to confirm, it's not making it any harder for folks, right? Blayne and I were both able to manipulate the map on an iPad (using the Slides app), which is a first for me. I imagine on a phone it would be tricky and annoying, but if it's not causing anyone problems, it seems it's still a net positive change.

Hey Torriki - if you're too busy for a proper post, feel free to drop something quick here in discussion and I'll flesh it out in gameplay.
