Conundrum is 4th already. Nice!

Is Blayne the character you were hoping to bring? If we're playing low I've got either a paladin 2 or arcanist 3. I believe Peter said he had a 2nd level gunslinger.

I believe Conundrum is his renaming of the 4th-level pregen investigator. Blayne is actually 2nd level, the alias needs to be leveled up, but that's the character he's planning to bring.

Bard? Kinda? (3)
Instrument of Aroden (2)
Warpriest of Abadar (1)

Any preferences for tier?

I think we're low tier. The bard or the Instrument would fit well as far as roles go.

So far we're 2, 2, and 3. I think no matter what you bring we're going to be doing tier 1-2.

Yeah, Blayne is only level 2 and conundrum is the pregen. Is the l2 ok with Everyone?

Being level 2 isn't a problem. We'd have to do some serious character juggling to get our average level high enough to play high tier.

Feral, you going to get a profile for that awesomely named alias?

Also, we may have another player, Chris Marsh (AKA Dungeon Master S).

Another thought - it's a 3-scenario arc, so if we play mid-range now, we could end up high-tier by the end.

Profile should be good to go now.

Adding a 5th player changes things. If he brings at least a 2 and Trex switches to his skald we can play high.

Hey guys, thanks or the invite. Time for me to spend some time on the player side. I've got a couple of options, and I'm open to whatever:

Torriki: Unchained rogue until Vigilante becomes legal again. At level 1 1/3, he's quite the newbie.

Nemis: Level 3 0/3 Psychic.

Torriki is likely the better faction piece, but Nemis helps push towards higher tier later.

I'll play the slot least covered.

And again, I'm happy to be on board.

Unfortunately we're in the all too common position of being either a very powerful low tier table or a minimally qualifying high tier table.

Personally I prefer the latter. Trex do you mind switching to your skald?

Take your time sorting out tier - I have read that at least the first of this series can be a cakewalk at low tier, though I haven't read enough of the scenario to have a solid sense of that.

DMS - you've run this, do you have an opinion on that?

I have run this. I have seen it be tough and a cake walk (I ran it when it first came out, and my memory is a bit fuzzy.) That being said, low tier is more survivable, but I've never shirked from a challenge.

I prefer my Exchange, which is level 1 and will keep us low.

Arighty. We'll stick with the original plan then.

That makes us 1, 2, 2, 2, 3. Average 2.

I'll go with my Exchange Rogue. He's level 1, so we won't be overpowered at the low tier.

I'll have my profile up to date tomorrow afternoon, ready to start ASAP.

Okay, low tier it is, with no 4-player adjustment. That should make it slightly less cakey. Starting post up in a bit!

Hey guys, I'm going to be gone from Friday afternoon to late Sunday. I'll be on a snowshoeing hiking trip in Northern Vermont, where my connectivity is spotty at best. I'm guessing I won't be posting until I get back.

Instrument - I have no problem with a retcon, if you would have stopped Torriki from using the potion and done the healing yourself. If we were at a table, you would have been able to say something, so we can presume you did here too.

@ Torriki: Instrument giving orders is RP, not me barking at you. Torriki could definitely overpower Instrument if he wanted to, ha.

Didn't think it was. Torriki is young and naive. Easy to push around... for now.

Second, I'd appreciate any feedback you've got. I feel like I ran this game very fast, which was fun for me but may have felt rushed to others. How was the pacing for everyone? Any other feedback you've got would be appreciated as well, whether on the scenario, my approach, etc.

I'm enjoying this group a lot, looking forward to 2 more scenarios with y'all.

The pacing was fine. Even with a few delays I never felt like we were lagging.

I have had a great time. While obviously it's the same game, the PbP environment is different. A great GM knows when to fast forward and when to slow down, I think you did a great job. I have fostered a reputation for being a very fast GM with a high rate of posting, and the speed works totally fine with me. Good stuff, looking for more.

Very glad to hear it, I've enjoyed it a lot as well. Though I find seeing a bunch of posts that I've missed is stressful, as pathetic as that is, so I check frequently, even if I don't have time to post.

Right you were, he was at 1 hp when he made his escape.

And yes, that was some quality rolling.

A couple of things to let y’all know:

As you may have guessed, there’s a mechanic in this scenario where delays count against you. More specifically, miners start to die in the various situations you find them in, and it quickly becomes very difficult to save enough of them to get the second prestige point. So, for all that the hustle and bustle (and being fatigued) might have been a pain, you rescued the maximum possible number of miners, which is a fine thing in and of itself, but also made sure you got both prestige points.

On a non-scenario note, I’ve got family coming into town on Wednesday, who will be here a week. I’ll try to check in, but my posting rate will likely drop a good bit from 3/16 to 3/23.
