Dotting means making a post so a dot appears next to the thread's title as well as putting a (new X) counter on the thread.

Put the message board in focus mode and you'll really see it.

Dotting for Devlin, just got to school so I won't have time till later to create an alias.

Thank you all.
Just a few things to note and mull over before we take off:

1) This trilogy is PFS sanctioned but does not flow exp wise between each module. We can do PFS but I'll need to use other scenarios after Crypt and then after Masks. OR we can wing it and I'll add encounters to bring you to the appropriate levels. - Your input and/or advice is needed here.
edit - check this out: Post

2) As Fool mentioned I do like to dish it out and encourage giving it back. This is fun yet I expect all of us to err and messages to be lost in translation. Poop happens, it's cool.

3) I plan on pushing through this, giving the story it's due yet don't want to waste one week to search a room:
Example: You state you search the cottage - Ill reply with It is a meager little cottage with an overused and uncleaned fire place with some mats on the floor near it. There are two shuttered glassless windows that let enough light into the room to notice the odd sculpture on the small table.
The sculpture is made of carved wood and is of a creature you have never seen before. It sits squat with his feet grasping over the edge in a perch, its big bloated body has two smaller bat wings that come off of his back, and its face looks like that of a ocean spider, an octopus. All together the idol looks like a mix between a man, dragon, and octopus.
After inspecting the wooden carving you search the rear room of the cottage, there is a man hanging by his neck from the rafter. In his pocket you find the knife that is assumed to carve the idol. As you take the knife from his pocket a tentacle bursts from his abdomen and attacks. Combat begins.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be using skill checks often...

4) We all have lives beyond this, some more than most, if you cannot post for some reason just state as such in advance. It's cool. There will be weekends where I don't post as often as during the week...

5) The maps and stuff will be posted at top of screen. The ones in my sig are for other games, not enough room for all though. It could change... meh.

Ok, game on y'all!

I wouldn't be opposed to running it PFS style, but someone would need to hold my hand since I've never actually played anything PFS. Doesn't PFS have something about no crafting, though? Trapper man might be really sad when he can't actually craft traps.
I'm actually not really sure what the crafting rules for traps are. Don't tell anyone!

Also, before we get started, is it assumed we all know each other? Friends or acquaintances, since we're all from Kassen?

Warpriest 1 HP:9/9 AC:16:12:14 Saves:3:2:5 Init: +2 Skills: Dip +5, Per +7, Sense +5, Stealth +2

1)Since I'm not in PFS play, we can do either.

2)If you are going to fill the module gap don't use Grimtooth's Traps,
As they are really deadly.
Though a few are hilarious.

3)I hope we will have some RP time.

4)Not a problem, for the most part.

5)Certain entries in the campaign tab can be used for map links.

Currently have made render of my character.
Peasant Clothes
Armour

and can make renders for other characters (even NPCs)
But I'll need a description and a height.

I think it would be great to know each other, so I think each of us should look at each other's back story and see where and how they know each other.

I'll go first

Eve was trained and taught fighting from her father, and clerical training from her mother.
Most of the townsfolk she her as human, even though she's a half-elf.
Her elven like ears hidden by her hair.
She does go around helping, and healing people. Though she has helped defend against raids from goblins and other minor menaces.

Family:
Eve's Mother, Astrid, runs a local orphanage, and is a cleric and aasimar.
Eve's Father, Balmung, is a blacksmith and weapon smith, and is a Half-elf(Ulfen)

Eve has 4 Siblings; Her brothers Siegfried(Half-Elf), Tor(Human), and Hans(Half-elf), and Her sister Bridgette (Aasimar).

GM:
So would you allow the multi-talent swap?
And which one would you prefer; Halo, Celestial Resistances, or a SLA (I pick the spell).

Male Human Trapper Ranger 1 | HP 11/11 (9 NL) | AC 16 (13FF/13T) | F+3, R+5, W+1 | CMD 16 | Init +3 | Perc +5

Alright - Jormel.

He's a native of Molthune, though he really doesn't like to share that with most people. (Or anyone.) He's been in Kassen for about 12 years, having fled Molthune with his mother at 7 or 8 and spending a few years on the road.

Also, since Eve mentioned it, I took a look at everyone's backstory and tried to come up with how Jormel may have come to know y'all. If it doesn't fit with your character, feel free to yell at me. They just sort of wrote themselves, so it's not entirely my fault.

Eve:

Eve's just one of those constants around town. She'd been there ever since Jormel had, had always made an effort to be friendly to everyone, and even helped out at the local chapel – despite it being primarily dedicated to Erastil. She was a bit younger than Jormel, sure, but twice as tough, easy. He liked to pride himself on his ability to outmaneuver her in a practice bout, but almost always found himself kicked to the dirt when pinned. It was just hard to stay mad at Eve, though.

'Fool':

Though there was always something a little off about Corvid, Jormel couldn't help but like the little guy. He'd never asked, but liked to imagine that Fool was as much a refuge from Molthune as he was – even if he wasn't sure why he was. His knack with herbs and unusual appetite for adventure certainly reminded Jormel a bit of himself. He enjoyed a chat with the 'Fool' more than most other folk.

Viorec:

The half-orc Viorec's case reminded Jormel of his own. An outsider from his homeland, by choice or by circumstance. After having been accepted into the town of Kassen himself, Jormel saw no reason not to welcome the youth. If nothing else, it was nice to have another adopted son-of-the-village that was younger than him! Although he doesn't really understand Viorec's love of magic, he's one of the few people that Jormel would call a true friend.

Devlin:

Devlin: Although it had tempered since he'd come to Kassen, Devlin's twinge of arrogance had never really bothered Jormel. In fact, it reminded him a bit of the vague memories he had of Molthune. Perhaps his father had pranced about in the same way. It was no matter, though, as there was no doubt that Devlin was more than capable of backing up his attitude, always ready to take on any task given to him. And Jormel admired that spirit.

Warpriest 1 HP:9/9 AC:16:12:14 Saves:3:2:5 Init: +2 Skills: Dip +5, Per +7, Sense +5, Stealth +2

Eve's Deity is the same as her mother's. It is Kurgress, the strong man, not Erastil.
And it's a small kirk(church) they use.

During the trek to the crypt you'll have loads of time for introductions, throwing halflings, grilling lizards, pulling elf ears, wetting bow strings, etc...

I had a good laugh when I looked at mine. I'm not sure that being a sorcerer means I have to wear goofy clothing. I'm not complaining, just saying that I'm dressed in an adventurer's outfit like everyone else. Find me some magical goofy clothing (in game) and I'll reconsider. :)

I did pick that up in the first post about the renders, and I tend to use feedback on them to make the renders more accurate and fitting to the character a bit later.

That and having a visual of characters helps players identify the characters and visualise them in the scene.

How's this instead?

Eve's just one of those constants around town. She'd been there ever since Jormel had, had always made an effort to be friendly to everyone, and worked in a small kirk to her god, which was there about a decade before her mother arrived and took over for a dying priest. I guess if this was going to be PFS, we'd need to figure out a connection to the Pathfinder Society for all of our characters. And pick factions. The flavour doesn't seem quite right to me.

Just getting a chance to over look backgrounds and suggestions for ties.

Jormel yours seems solid, if what I understand what you wrote, your just thinking you were that stubborn friend that wouldn't give up till I was your friend... correct?

My lady Eve, a suggestion for us is that I could have,[occ]or still do[/occ], see you as a possible love. Could have tried and possibly failed to court you, in the end we became friends?

As for Fool and Viorec, I've got no ideas, not saying we all need to know each other before we run off on this adventure.

Male Human Trapper Ranger 1 | HP 11/11 (9 NL) | AC 16 (13FF/13T) | F+3, R+5, W+1 | CMD 16 | Init +3 | Perc +5

Yep, something along those lines. If I read your guy right, he wasn't exactly 'happy' to be in Kassen? At least at first. And Jormel didn't really care if you didn't like it, because he liked your attitude. And eventually, friends? Or at least not-totally-enemies?

But yeah, I don't think we all need to be friends.

Kassen's probably a small enough place that we might know each other on a name-only basis. I only suggested those little blurbs because Eve made me think of it, but if anyone would rather hate Jormel, he's perfectly okay with that. He probably doesn't like you either, in that case.

Warpriest 1 HP:9/9 AC:16:12:14 Saves:3:2:5 Init: +2 Skills: Dip +5, Per +7, Sense +5, Stealth +2

@Devlin Sorrow
It's your call if your character, had or still sees Eve as a Soulmate.
You could still be trying to court/woo her, or stopped at the friends level.
And your character profile is empty.

@Jormel
The thing eve dislikes about you is the crude, rude and inappropriate sense of humour, other than that she doesn't dislike you.

---------------------
And if I get appearance information from the rest of the players I can make good renders of them.

Wonderful RP foundations you five, it is good to see. I like Eve's renderings, makes the players more tangible. As we progress can you alter with weapons, new armor, etc...?

While we are waiting on the inquisitor I'd like to discuss the XP growth dilemma:

1) After reading and digesting your responses then reading a few PM's I will try to keep this adventure PFS sanctioned.
2) PFS because some of you are new to it (good exposure) and some have mentioned wanting the option of PFS sanctioned growth.
3) With the above stated I propose:
- Crypt of the Everflame (end at lvl 2.2)
- Godsmouth Heresy (end at lvl 3) This takes place in Kaer Maga so it's regional and I'll tie it in
- Mask of the Living God (end at lvl 4.1)
- City of Strangers I and II (tier 3-4) (end at lvl 5) Takes place in Kaer Maga
- City of Golden Death

4) We can tie this in to PFS at the end of Crypt...you'll see...

I know this is auspicious and a bit audacious, six mods/scenarios, yet why not?

@Fool
Your backstory mentions that you've used your magic in secret to create apparent good or bad luck. Is your magical ability itself a secret? I was thinking that an interest in the arcane could be a point of connection between us. My mother is also a witch... Even if your magic is secret, she might have had her suspicions.

@Jormel
I think that we're a good fit to be friends. You're a few years older, also from elsewhere... Viorec probably looked up to you. More recently, I can imagine him getting a kick out of casting enlarge person on you when Eve was in the process of beating you in a training bout. Probably cast while hiding nearby, but was given away by his laughter.

For Eve and Devlin... I'm still thinking. It's a small town and we're close enough in age that I'm sure we know each other. I don't imagine Viorec has enemies, unless anyone has a problem with half-orcs. He was bullied for that reason when he was younger and living in Lastwall.
