Rain manages not to breathe in the noxious fumes around her and if some does get into her lungs, she can manage to fight off the effects.

In Round 2, Rain drew her cutlass and started to hack away at the alchemical goo that has her glued to the ground. I rolled last round so, Rain does 6 damage out of 15. I think that's all she can do this round.

You can only make it to F4 as you are still at half move which is 15 feet due to being entangled. Also Ninja 6's readied action goes off as soon as you leave the smoke.

Calling upon his magics to aid him Variel concentrates upon timing his casting to avoid a attack from the assassins. Once he finished his incantation, Variel's cutlass crackles with electricity. Slicing downward, Variel cuts deep into the assassin behind him (#4) discharging the pent up energy in one quick burst.

The roof continues on that direction for several hundred feet as it curves around the mandrake root that this alley is built on.

The tidewater cutlass actually actually only has a CMB of +3. It doesn't use your CMB but the caster level of the item which is 3. Either way you succeeded.

Variel lets loose with a blast of water and knocks the Ninja off of the roof. He twists in the air on his way down to try and land without damaging himself.

Acrobatics 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (3) + 10 = 13 ...and fails suffering 1d6 ⇒ 5 points of damage and is prone in the smoke.

Fort Save for the smoke. 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15 SUCCESS

A slippery layer of magical fat coats your gun, making it very difficult to hold on to.

You need to make a dc 11 reflex save each round in order to use the gun. Failure means you drop it.

I gotcha, typically for items like that it uses the caster level as the bab and then the minimum modifier to cast a spell of that level. For instance for the cutlass it is +3 for the caster level and +0 for a minimum ability modifier of 11. I am willing to be persuaded otherwise if you can find rules that disagree with that. :-)

Camm that missed. I'm not sure if you were around for it but I do use hero points. Everyone starts with 1 and you accumulate them throughout the game. You can retroactively add +4 to a roll or before you roll add a +8. Among other uses. They are detailed here.

Question: First; when the ninja got up from "prone" doesn't that provoke an AoO?

Also - I didn't shoot Ninja "6" - I shot ninja "5". He was the ninja at "I:5". I don't know if that matters, though.

If I get an AoO on he ninja on the ground - please let me know first before I act. I thought that getting up from a prone position provokes an AoO.

Horatio, you did shoot at 6 because he WAS the one in I5, remember I said I moved the whole map in order to keep Variel's fight on screen. Also you did not get an AoO on the ninja on the ground for 2 reasons. 1 is that he was not in range as he fell into square H4 where he then got up from prone and moved stealthy to H5. Second reason is he stood up in the smoke where he had full concealment due to the smoke, therefore you couldn't see him to make an AoO. I hope that clears things up :-)

Ah - I see.

The moving and rearranging of the coordinates has thrown me off sicne the beginning of the combat. Sorry - I simply didn't understand the new adjustments made.

Also - I had no idea where Ninja 5 fell; that coordinate was not specified. I knew he fell, and that was all - and when I looked at the map, I simply assumed he had fallen next to us.

Now that you have explained things, it's all good.

Trapped in the middle of the noxious fumes, Rain manages to hold her breath enough and not consume or be consumed by the fumes all around her.

Crazy town. Poor elf chick stuck to the ground and surrounded by the smoke and fumes on all sides. GM, are the squares at F2 or H2 any safer re the fumes or no?

All she can do is continue to hack at the goo with her cutlass, hoping to break the substance and free herself from being stuck.

Damage to goo: 1d6 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

She manages to get most of the goo off but is still stuck by the remainder at her feet.

Rain has now done 12 damage out of a possible 15 on the goo.

sorry didn't look at the map before I posted. Seijiro would have taken a 5' step back to be next to Camm before firing, which he CAN do while staggered, since it's not a move action per se. I didn't realize there was a foe standing next to him on the ground and firing an arrow WOULD provoke an aoo. Seijiro is smarter than that.
