Nice hits Dhaavan!

Dhaavan while watching your bird you see the attacks come down and rend into Plugg...but some of the damage from the attacks immediately heals before your eyes...

DM EYES ONLY:
BoH 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8

...before Variel plunges his dagger deep into Pluggs chest! Plugg looks at you for a moment before blood begins pouring from his mouth. He falls to his knees, frothy blood bubbling from his chest, and looks up at you with a look of astonishment before his eyes glaze over and he falls to the deck with a wet thump.

Scourge, screams out Nooooo! You mother f*~+ing sons of sea hags!

Sandara, meanwhile yells above the din Seijiro! The ballista! as she points towards the Brinebrood Queen who looks to be in the throws of another spell!

Plugg finally dropped from the combined assaults of the group. Now only Scourge was left to worry about. When Sandara calls out to man the ballista, Variel expects the bolt to fly towards Scourge. Instead it flies out over the water at some unknown assailant. More worried about the curse Scourge is delivering and his actions, Variel mentally prepares for another fight. The fact that Jiro slipped unconscious is not lost on Variel. Instead, defeating Scourge quickly so he can tend to his fallen comrade is of high importance.

Nice shot Jiro. Hopefully that hits for 3d8 damage...ouch

3d8 for a light ballista that takes a standard action to fire if already loaded. Ultimate Combat book if reference needed. Problem is nonproficiency and large weapon means -6 to hit. Still gives a 17 which might hit depending on buff spells up. Hopefully it does as I would hate to have you go unconscious for nothing. Gives me an idea for Acourge next round though.

Male Human Guns. 1 (Mysterious Stranger), Fighter 1 (Lore Warden), Bard 6 (Archaeologist) - Barbarian 1 (Urban) Mythic (Champion) (AC 20 / HP 82 / F +9, R + 10, W +7 / Ini + 3 / Perc. +16)

At this time I shall take a 5 foot step to 5:V and attack Scourge with a “Full Attack Action.” I believe I can make a full attack action if all I do is a 5 foot step. I currently have my dagger drawn, as stated. So – Swift action to Activate Archeologist’s luck at this time; penalties and bonuses for powers/spells/feats/etcetera are already factored in.

My eyes frost over a bit and I move forward to Scourge.

Attacking Scourge with my Short Sword –
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15

If it hits -
1d6 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 + 1 + 1 = 5

Attacking him with my mother’s dagger –
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

If it hits –
1d4 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 + 1 = 5

Edit: I am not sure of Scourge's status at this time, or his AC. It would be nice if it was 15, but somehow I doubt it. In any case - prior to this I believe he had lost a total of 25 HP with the rocks, my earlier attack, and Sko's attack. I guess we shall see what happens next.

will using a heal potion on Jiro drop invisibility?

Horatio - I don't think any of us can 5' step - Imm. said the falling rocks from earlier made the entire boat 'rough terrain', so even a 5' movement costs 10' of move.

Dhaavan - using a heal potion on someone is not an attack and should not get rid of invis on you.

If I can't take a 5 foot step, then I can't. But for now I will. If I need to make an "acrobatics" roll to take a 5 foot step, I shall do that. If that choice is a failure as well, then I will throw both weapons at him, if i need to. If that option fails, I shall attempt something else. While it is true that such actions may be somewhat unconventional, I am going to attack him; with both weapons. At this time, I do not what my options are fully via rough terrain. When I know more, if I need to, I will modify my rolls/actions appropriately.

Seijiro crawls over to the ballista at Sandara's urging and takes a moment to line up the shot. Dropping the lever, Seijiro sees the spear sized bolt fly away before everything fades to black.

Those still conscious see that Seijiro's aim was just about perfect, taking the Queen between her ample bosom and protruding a foot through her back. She slumps, floating in the water, a pool of red wafting out from her.

Horatio moves forward and thrusts forward with his short sword, picking his way across the rocky ground he is unable to get into position for his normal two weapon attack routine and so focuses his effort on making sure the sword strikes home...which it does! Scourge overextended on his swing and this put him off balance, opening him up for Horatio's perfect lunging stab directly into Scourges black heart. Scourge soils himself as he falls to the deck, dead.

A sudden silence descends upon the ship as Plugg, Scourge, and the Queen fall. The silence stretches for what seem like hours but are mere heartbeats before a thunderous cheer bursts out of the assembled sailors. Sandara's musical laughter echoes over the ship just as Fishguts booming baritone roars that he hasn't had this much fun in years. The sailors for the moment forget their wounds and stare about in wonder as the rock, dirt, and stone abruptly vanishes.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! YOU GUYS DID IT!!!

Excellent.

I will lean over Scourge’s body a moment and slide my mother’s dagger into his chest. I slowly, deliberately and methodically rip it downward from his neck to his groin.

I will take a moment to reach inside the torso and drag out his liver and his heart; and with a little difficulty slice the tip of the dagger into his stomach and rend it open.

Heal Check – taking 10 = 17 to find the organs, if I need the check.

I then take a moment to thrust the blade of the dagger into each of his limbs, and then into his head – then I press the blade under his nose and above his lips and slide it downward, slicing off his lips and tearing into his mouth.

Then I wipe Scourge's blood off on his clothes and then stand up and glance to stern deck and look toward's Plugg's body.

I ignore Scourge's gear at this time.

I then walk over to Plugg, and I look at both Variel and Jiro.

As they seem well looked after by Dhaavan at this time, I take a moment and kneel down by Plugg and repeat the process that I did with Scourge.

I do not touch Plugg’s gear, and seem fairly ambivalent to it at this time.

Heal Check – taking 10 = 17 to find the organs, if I need the check.

When I finish with Plugg I will politely ask the others if they need any assistance at this time.

Umm well that was...interesting...lol.

About half way through Scourge, Sandara comes up to you and says quietly I hate this man more than I have hated anyone in my life...but what you are doing is making some of the crew sick...and is not exactly setting a good impression that you will be better leaders than Plugg and Scourge. If you feel you must do this for some reason I would ask you do it in private.

Male Gillman Oracle (Waves) 4; AC 14 (T 11, FF13) / HP: 34/34 / F +4, R +3, W +5 / Init: +1 / Percep: +0

Valeros looks to Horatio and Sandara and gives a curt nod at her words. Perhaps less time collecting prizes Flynn and more time looking to our own right now. Following his own advice, Valeros moves quickly up to where Seijiro lies draped over the balista.

Channeling some minor healings into his fingers, he rests them upon Seijiro's chest before stepping back. He'll live. I can restore him further but I need to make sure everyone else is alright.

Casting Stabilize on Seijiro. Then looking around to see who else might be down.

As all of our foes have Dropped, Dhaavan returns the potion he had withdrawn for Sejiro to his belt, and calls out to Sandara, asking her "Are you able to release any more healing energy to restore Sejiro and Sko right now? Or Valeros, maybe a spell if you have any more magical energy at your disposal?" he asks the others, preferring to use renewable magic when it is not too urgent situation. Valeros has yet to go so he can cure Jiro this round if he so chooses, which would be sooner than Dhaavan could.

Flynn, Variel, and Jiro:
(Jiro only when he wakes up, and if Messsage is still active) You hear a stifled couging, breaking into a chuckle, as Flynn begins his grim work, in your ears via Dhaavan's spell, the eerie disembodied laughter lasts only a few moments before the spell is ended. [ooc]Lol, that WAS interesting

A rather violent fit of coughing erupts from nowhere continuing for a few moments until the invisible sorcerer comports himself, at which point he re-appears standing over Sejiro as he is being healed by someone "You alright mate? That was a good shot there, skewered yerself a squid! Mmm, wish it were an actual squid. them's tastie." he muses on delecious fried squids and foods he's enjoyed on his travels before making his way to his mates, seeing that the pressed are well enough off at the hands of the healers, he looks in on his mates among the original crew.

"Oye, how're ya all doin?" checking to see if there were any casualties among Plugg's officers and toadies and our mates, assessing the damage to personel, and Cheering and embracing his friends, taking care to get them healing if they need it.

Later, he will take time to look over Plugg and Scourge's gear via Detect Magic and identify any magical items using spellcraft.

spellcraft rolls. all of them:

spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (18) + 7 = 25
spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 13
spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
spellcraft: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
...but his people are more important to him than gear. he does take a very close look at Plugg before the man is eviscerated and tries to determine how he was able to heal from the Eagle's attack.

I pause from my work, and look up at Sandara with flat eyes.

Speaking Quietly to Sandara:

"It has been suggested to me many times that I do not seem to be qualified to lead."

"My actions, decisions, advice and questions are generally seen as a detriment rather than a help; by all who I sail with."

"Thus, it seems that my reputation is such that - no matter what I choose to do - I doubt highly that any action I take will improve my position with the crew."

"As for making the crew sick? I am confused on that point," I add with a dull voice.

"We are not merchantmen. We are not sailors. We are not fisherman. We are not privateers. We are not Royal Navy. We are not "men of quality". We are not noble born."

"Indeed, we are none of these things."

"However, we are pirates - our actions have declared us as such. Are my own actions thus so askew from the actions of a pirate?"

My eyes roam over Scourge's corpse for a moment, then I turn my gaze back to Sandara.

"Lady, you are a priestess. I would have thought that you above all would support my decision to repay the gods for their assistance. Do not the divine beings - when petitioned with offerings - not expect to be repaid?"

I watch her a moment, then shrug.

"Very well - I shall attend to these details when others are not watching, if you believe the sight unsettles them."

"I am sorry for troubling you, and the crew. Perhaps you could explain my apology to them for me? You know them better than I do - your words will certainly carry more weight than my own, I am sure."

Then I stand up and bow politely to her.

I shall clean my weapons, sheathe them, then load my pistol.

I shall leave the body of Scourge at this time.

I shall then walk over to the stern deck.

I watch him turn his back on me and walk away.

I look down at Sko.

My head cocks to the side, curious to know what shall become of this man.

Then I shrug.

I look at Sandara, and speak to her again for a moment -

"Lady - you can channel the energies of your deity? You have not done so today, or am I mistaken?"

"If it is true that you can channel your healing powers we could gather those around you who need healing. Could your ability not assist all that need it at this time? Or have you expended your energy already today?" I ask with a calm, quiet voice, waiting a moment for her answer.

After she answers me, I shall go back to the stern deck.

I approach Dhaavan and nod to him, examining his wounds.

I lay my hand on him a moment - healing him.

I notice that Valeros has the others attended to.

He is a better healer then I am.

I am confident that his abilities will do more than mine shall.

As I watch Valeros attend to Variel and Seijiro, I look at Dhaavan.

In Infernal:

"The scum that used her foul magic to harm us? She attacked us off the bow of the ship. She was powerful with magic, was she not?"

"It seems wise, then, that we should seek her corpse. The water here is not overly deep. If we sent a boat to where her body had appeared before the balista bolt struck her; I would think that the size of the bolt and the body freshly killed - it is likely that the corpse may be floating at the surface, or slightly below it."

"If we move to that approximate place, we may find what gear she possessed on her person before she was terminated."

"You can summon creatures, including beasts of the sea? Very well; if we two cannot dive to the depths and to find her gear - could you not send a summoned creature down to discover it, should there be any gear of note?"

I watch him a moment.

"Do not fear - I do not seek the corpse, if such things unsettle you. Rather - I seek only what gear may be on it. Will you aid me in this venture?"

I glance forward to Rain -

"Apologies - I was merely asking him for assistance regarding a matter," I add with a polite voice.

I turn back to Dhaavan, waiting to hear what he has to say.

Sandara nods and pulls her holy symbol out letting loose several blasts of energy that feels like a warm wave pouring over you.

Everyone takes 2d6 ⇒ (4, 6) = 10 + 2d6 ⇒ (3, 4) = 7 healing.

Looking at Horatio she says You just ran Scourge through the heart and killed him. You have attained much standing in the eyes of the crew, do not doubt. In addition, you sell yourself short sir. There are several amongst the crew that count you as if not friend then worthy companion, myself included. I know for a fact that Owlbear thinks, when he does think, very highly of you. As for offerings to the gods, Besmara takes tribute in plunder. When it comes to pirates, yes that is true but not all of us are as bloodthirsty and cruel as this one. She says, spitting at Scourge.

She places a gentle hand upon Horatio's shoulder and says Do not be melancholy. Today is a day for celebration and life. After all, we never know when the gods will call us home so we must live to the fullest, yes? Smiling she moves over to the rest of the crew and begins checking on them.

Seijiro wakes up blinking his eyes and stares about, seeing Valeros nearby and others moving about freely... he sits up and takes stock of his surroundings, sees Plugg down and Scourge eviscerated on the deck and promptly gets up and staggers to the railing and loses the contents of his stomach at the sight of Scourge.

He turns with a grimace of disgust and embarrassment back toward the others and shrugs.

"I guess we won?"

He walks over to Plugg and looks down at him... pokes him almost gently with a foot and then smiles, his smile quickly growing to a grin.

He looks up at Variel and nods to him. "You got him! Awesome... sorry I couldn't help there at the end. Those rocks really got me good."

It may be that I would give her a long response - perhaps an explanation of my actions.

Perhaps more than that.

But instead, I take a deep breath, and pause before I speak.

"Begging your pardon, lady. I do not wish to offend you, or the others," I say, looking down at the open cadavers in front of me.

"What actions I must take, by your request - I shall do them in private."

"Thank you for your kindness, and your courtesy. That among much stands highly with me."

"I abhor rudeness."

I bow again to her, leaving the body - then I move to the others and accept her healing.

"Doubtless her body did not react well to a balista bolt."

"I believe that she did not live; though it is too early to be sure."

Same here Jiro...get my kid from daycare and find that enemies are dead,

As the cheers of the crew sound over the ship, Variel takes a moment to survey the crowd. These are mean no women who he has worked with, bled with, and shared horrors at the hands of Plugg and Scourge. It was time now to unify them all with the new Rahadoumi members.

Racing down to grab the fallen cutlasses, Variel thrusts them up high. Mates, we have won the day and the ship is ours. No more must we worry about the lash from Plugg or Scourge. Those that have pressed ganged us are no more and we are free of the shackles that bound us. From here let us still join together as one crew to raid the seas and by Besmara we will become rich and famous by our exploits.

Dhaavan it is going to take a little bit to catalog and identify all the items but I am going to list them here for expedience sake. This does not include anything in Plug or Scourge's cabin just what was on them and the Queen.

Found Gear:

On Plugg-
-Potion of Cure Moderate Wounds
-2 Screaming Bolts
-A homebrew Belt that I saw from someone else on the boards called a Belt of Healing. A charged Item that has 2 charges per day that can cast Cure Light Wounds for 1 charge or Cure Moderate Wounds for 2 charges. For 2 charges once per week you can also use it to heal you with a cure light as an immediate action but then the belt must "rest" for a week in order to recharge. Worth 1000gp
-Tidewater Cutlass
-MW Cat'o'nine Tails
-Amulet of Natural Armor +1
-Bracers of Armor +1
-Shackles of Compliance in his belt pouch
-Leather Drinking Cup

On Scourge
-MW Handaxe
-Potion of Blur
-Potion of Cure Light Wounds
-Punching dagger smeared with a black substance
-Leather Armor
-Shortbow with 12 arrows
-Corked green bottle with 8 doses of Oil of Taggit Poison
-Leather Snuff box set with a diamond containing 1 dose of Dark Reaver Powder
-Silver ring with the word Shanxia inscribed on it
-25gp, 18 pp

On Brinebrood Queen
-Wand of Summon Natures Ally II (12 charges)
-Vindictive Harpoon

Imm - the Belt of Healing is not a homebrew item - it is from D&D 3.5, Magic Item Compendium and has 3 charges per day: This broad leather belt is studded with three moonstones. +2 Heal skill bonus while wearing. Belt has 3 charges which are renewed each day at dawn. Spending 1 or more charges allows you to heal damage with a touch (can be used to harm undead) 1 charge: 2d8 2 charges: 3d8 3 charges: 4d8

Of course this one can be a homebrew item as you've described, just saying that Belt of Healing is a real item from a real system, not actually homebrewed.

Thanks for the clarification Seijiro. This one is different so maybe we should call it the "Oh S~%#!" belt or something like that lol. Maybe the Belt of Emergency Healing. Someone had posted this one on another board so I thought it was homebrew.

Ret-con – “Aiding Dhaavan” via Diplomacy Check.

”Gentleman, Mister Dhaavan is a reasonable man. He does not seek to do you harm as others have.”

I press my kerchief against my face gently, dabbing away a sheen of sweat, and wiping a small dribble of blood which was still slick on the nape of my neck.

”I assure you all that he is a good person; kind, friendly, considerate and very fair.”

I lower the kerchief and take a moment to wipe some smeared entrails from one of the brass buttons on my topcoat in a light gentle motion.

”He would not threaten you in any way. His comments about being fed to sharks or marooned on an island filled with undead and pestilence? Naturally, I suspect this was merely nothing but light jesting to break an otherwise grim mood.”

I absently brush a piece of Scourge’s liver which has regrettably clung to the fringe of my coat, flicking it away with my fingers and sending it skidding onto the deck.

”I am confident that if you follow Mister Dhaavan’s humble request that there will be no issues."

I pause; breaking off from my brief speech, as if thinking a moment.

I then elect to entreat them more directly.

My voice changes to a smoother timbre.

It is now somewhat softer and sweeter; almost a caressing whisper which is almost certainly far more intimate and personal.

I believe this sudden level of intimacy will, no doubt, make these men feel much more comfortable with what I am saying to them.

"It would be wise, my friends, to follow his advice. Don't you agree?" I say, my eyes slowly raising from the modest amount of carmine which has regrettably stained my coat to look at the men somewhat more intently.

My lips curve slowly up at the corners to form a smile, which is no doubt warm and very friendly.

I feel quite confident that these men will no doubt be very pleased to acquiesce to Mister Dhaavan’s requests at this time.

Diplomacy Check to “Aid” Dhaavan in his efforts
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Edit: I believe that roll was successful in aiding Dhaavan in his efforts.
