You- you're not one of those Doomsday Knights! Irori be praised - I'm Bertrag of the Tar Kuata monastery. Are you here to save us? There are still five of Rovagug's faithful here, their leader and four others, as well as a beast, sort of a melted spider but the size of a pony. I don't know what it was I'm afraid...
He opens the door, and gratefully takes the rations to share among his flock. Is it safe to depart yet?

![]() |

The question: your ppl is capable to run?
if u answer YES we can escort u grp to an elevator to surface and then u should lead to monastery
if u answer is NO your group should be wait here while we eliminate these knigths.

"Stayyyy heerre... kip doorr cloz'd t'pretendz itsss lock'd.. can youyouzzawand ifff'wannoff-ussss needzz healinz'?" asks Skivven, pulling out his wand of cure light wounds, trying to establish a fallback location in case the fight turns to vinegar...
Skivven then asks Kitani to 'pleeezzz' tap him with his wand of mage armor. :)

Rhiannon prays for patience as their scouts are gone, the paladin feels nearly helpless as her two companions put themselves in grave peril without her protection. When they return, her face lights up. "He is alive, praise Ragathiel!" She whispers fervently. Like Kitani, the paladin parts with her own rations for Skivven to bring to the captives. "I agree, they should wait at least until we engage the enemy. Once they hear the sounds of battle, they might then make their way clear, in case we fall to the Doom Knights. At the very least our efforts then will not have been in vain. Tell them that the spider creature outside is dead, hopefully there are no others around."
When they make preparations to do battle with the armored warriors, the paladin advises the others. "Try to give me a charging lane. In fact, perhaps we can attack from two flanks. They are watching the tunnel with the tracks? Perhaps if some of you take that route, I will lead the charge from this side, and get their attention focused on myself. Then the rest of you could attack from the rear. I would need a sign though. A magical spell, perhaps?" She glances at Kitani.
Time for tactics, then? It might get a bit cramped with all of us attacking from the west tunnel. I like the idea of some of us going down the track tunnel, so we can attack them from both sides. What do you all think? Coordination would be the biggest problem. Animal Messenger or something similar might work. Or Rhiannon can just wait for a set amount of time (maybe a minute [slow count to '100' or similar] after the elevator stops?) and those who are going to the track tunnels can just make their way down quietly and wait hidden until they hear her charge into the knights and then make their move?

![]() |

Eirwen nods to Kitani's proposition and than shrugs. "Looks like as good plan as any. The fireball blast looks like a signal that will be hard to miss. Sneaking close enough to blast the cultists may be tricky, though."

![]() |

"Good job Skivven."
Kelumur agrees to the strategized plan, taking out his shield and dagger ready to attack from the rear end. "That sounds a good plan as any, the diversion could give us the element of surprise from behind."

![]() |

"Squeaky cartzz nnn'crashin-downatt'bottom cann'bee gooddddivvvershion!!! heeeeheeeeheee"

GM Cwethan |

So that sounds like Kelumur and Skivven heading back around to the tracks, while Kitani, Eirwen and Rhiannon will charge from the west. What's your plan Kali?

![]() |

@GM Cwethan: please let me know if the monks can use Skivven's wand of CLW

![]() |

I guess I'll try to complement the Rogues - going with them, or with the others, whichever works better for that.

![]() |

Rhiannon nods at Kitani's input. "I will wait until the blast then, and charge ahead of you. That should draw their attention away from the others, so they can attack from the rear." If the setup goes as planned, a few moments before Kitani casts her spell, Rhiannon will cast a spell to protect herself from those with evil in their hearts.
Sounds good to me. I would suggest that Eirwen sticks with Kitani and me, though - if he isn't good at sneaking. Plus, that'd be three attacking from west, and three (Kali, Skivven and Kelumur) attacking from the west after the fireball detonates, casting Protection from Evil on herself just before Kitani casts her spell. On that signal, Rhiannon will charge into the room ahead of the druid and the arcanist while the trio of sneaks attack from the other side.

![]() |

Apologies, missed that. They cannot.
Ok thanks. This doesn't change the plan, other than Skivven recommends we get the monks out to safety first before attacking. Hopefully that's ok with everyone? Otherwise the monks are screwed if we fail.

GM Cwethan |

Bertrag leads the villagers out of the mine while the pathfinders prepare their ambush.
Luckily, on closer inspection, Skivven notices that one of the mining carts is rigged to crash down the path, but if you don't ride in the carts, and walk around a particular pressure plate, there's no danger of it triggering. Yeah, it's the white square...

![]() |

Rhiannon casts her spell as Kitani invokes her own, stepping forward to interpose herself between the enemy and her allies, catching a glimpse of the Doomknights for the first time!
Kitani, once you cast Fireball, Rhiannon will charge into the room afterward - otherwise she'd be caught in the blast as well. I'd suggest you place the center at the intersection of the square just north of 'Blue Knight' where I inserted a tiny picture, so as not to let the blast radius enter into the corridor where the tracks are but should affect all the bad guys.
GM, I had to shuffle our positioning a little bit (pre-attack) for our planned tactics on the western side of the room to work, if that's OK. Kitani can hopefully 5' step SE and cast Fireball with line of sight in the surprise round, and then Rhiannon will cast Protection from Evil and 5' step SE as well to put herself between Kitani and the bad guys, as well as give herself a charging lane. If the positions I selected for our 'ambush' won't work for whatever reason, please move us as needed. Thanks!

Skivven turns invisible and stealths forward at normal speed.

Swift action to use her Smite Evil ability, then full round 'Charge' attack action (30' movement total) against 'Yellow' knight. IF that attack manages to hit, her Radiant Charge damage will go off. If she misses, it will not (obviously), but she will still have her LoH uses available. Was thinking of re-rolling, but my luck on this board is so horrible I would likely roll a '1' on the reroll...
Also, her AC against 'Yellow' knight is at +2 because of her Smite Evil (which offsets the charge penalty), and I think it stacks with her Protection from Evil deflection bonus to AC of +2.
