Indeed, we should also focus on... "eliminating" any remaining religious zealots that are worshipping this evil god. That may be the best way to ensure Zenith and our safety. As far as the armor, it would be an ideal item for me.

Perhaps Magma would be interested in this sanctified +2 Full Plate?
If needed, I'll pull the shiney +2 plate out of my bag and show it off Vanna White style!!

I think we can also put Sam in the bag of holding which should leave everyone as capable as possible in case of further danger.

With a +2 dex you should be getting 10 ac from the breastplate, you'd bump up to +12 with the +2 full plate (gaining 3 ac from the plate and losing one from dex. The +1 Mithril should be the same +12, you'd lose +1 from the plate, and gain +1 from dex. I'm in the same state, although I gain +4 max dex on the +1 Mithril plate and have a slightly better armor check penalty.

Up to Magma per the armor, once we're back up top and I don't need to worry about drowning, I'll be wearing this black spiked full plate again, unless Magma wants it.

I'll search the area for any indication of what normally passes this way, or any other clue to which way is the best path for us to take.

Survial check: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25


Armor swap for Magma is 5 mins added in below. Survival is a 1 rd action.

6 mins Nemoris hunts around and determines a whole host of kuo toa travel to both doors. The ones to the eastern door are more recent. Additionally there are infrequent tracks from a single, very heavy hob-nailed booted humanoid of medium size to and from the eastern door.

No, the four negative levels reduced my max HP by 20. I'm at full HP.


1 min 30 secs: The party checks the door for traps and pushes through into the easter room. This lozenge-shaped chamber has more frescos, this time of kuo-toas emerging from the sea and marching into holes in the ground. The floor is covered with the same porcelain shards found near the entrance. The eastern corner of the north wall features a set of double stone doors.

Zenith's Chamber

Against the north wall sits a throne made of what looks like stitched-together skin. Four slender pillars surround a faintly luminescent circle about five feet across, carved into the stone floor. To either side of the throne hang banners depicting a dwarf in blue and white armor holding a waraxe aloft. Both banners are apparently upside-down. Hanging by their feet from nooses attached to the 30-foot ceiling are dozens of rotting corpses, each with the top of its head removed. The corpses mutter and twitch in a pale mockery of life.

A tired-looking dwarf slumps in the throne, a glowing sphere in his hand and an axe across his lap. He takes notice of you and whispers harshly: “I prophesy your doom!”

Knowledge Nobility DC18:
The banners are the battle standards of Clan Splintershield. Hanging them upside down is a mortal insult

Let's hold off on barring the doors, we still need to go out that way. Nowazi, how much do you remember the creature we faced before? I think Sam said something about them teleporting? What else can we expect from it?

I'll also see what my limited senses can find... Any update on that survival check Tike, guessing it just didn't find anything? I think for my lycanthrope detection, I just concentrate, right?

At Epik's words, the dwarf bristles and leaps up adopting a defensive stance. He points at him with the sphere, his eyes focusing on the paladin as he hollers out, spit flecking his lips, "Your heart harbors two ships: betrayal and joy!"

He cocks back his arm to throw the sphere.
