Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

Sounds good to me.

Alright, moving along then ...

The party moved forward up the winding tunnel. It's an arduous task, the slope is quite steep and in places smooth and slick and a slip here and there threatens to send the entire party sliding back to the bottom. Luckily you're able to catch each other as you wind your way up. You spend an hour climbing at a snail's pace when you come around a corner to spy your quarry ... surprisingly, waiting. Not for you, it seems, since they seem just as surprised to see you come around the bend. It looks like they're taking a break to catch their breath.

The two are easy to identify, a giant flaming haired dwarf immacuately decked out in armor and shield wielding a blazing sword and the muscular tiger headed creature behind him.

The rakshasha shouts, "They, too, have a lantern! They're here for the Test!" They immediately react like seasoned warriors, the fire giant moving to assault and the tiger-headed creature beginning a spell.

The rakshasha casts a spell and he and the giant begin to move quicker. (haste)

Kaurophon casts an armor spell on himself. (mage armor)

Actions Round 1?

Initiative: Zaur Sa, Kaurophon, Nowzai, Epik, Sam, Magma, Nemoris, Motruk, Dalamus, Jenya

The dice:

Motruk Init: 1d20 ⇒ 12
Zaur Sa Init: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22
Dalamus Init: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10

Sam Init: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Kaurophon Init: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Roll 20 map.is updated and there are two images. One has both creatures as portrayed in the book. The second one is a more accurate depiction of the fire giant

Male Human Wizard (Conjuror) 10 / Loremaster 4

Rolling back the DM train a few, if we were pressing on, Nowzai would re-cast mage armor before hand. Darkvision is still active, but my other buffs have since worn off.

That isn't the same fire giant we freed from the forge, right?

Nowzai reacts quickly and conjures a field of black tentacles centered on the rakshasa.

Tentacle Grapple vs CMD: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25; Damage: 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

Mage armor is fine for a retcon. It's within your reasonable 'regular' use

Not the same giant. This one is much more militant

Competitive Regurgitation Round 1

Initiative: Zaur Sa, Kaurophon, Nowzai, Epik, Sam, Magma, Nemoris, Motruk, Dalamus, Jenya

Nowzai creates a mass of black tentacles which immediately wrap themselves around the rakshahsha who curses in irritation. The giant rips them free with ease.

Epik, Sam, and Magma quickly prepare spells and weapons for themselves.

<Nemoris does something ... likely shoots> EDIT: Nemoris moves forward, longstrider in effect and takes a shot missing wide.

The giant lowers his shield and leans forward, holding his sword point forward over the top of his shield ... and waits allowing the tentacles to thrash ineffectually at his legs.

Dalamus enacts his speed and invisibility (and can move now if he wishes?)

Jenya drops her blessing on the party.

Top of the order

The rakshasha curses and thrashes at the tentacles trying to cast a spell. He whispers at Nowzai, eyes glaring, "Just go ahead and dispel the tentacles, wizard ... they will hurt your ... <gaak>."

Unfortunately, his voice is interrupted by an well-timed tentacle and the magic doesn't follow with the suggestion.

Concentration: 1d20 + 10 + 3 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 10 + 3 + 4 = 20

Kaurophon casts a spell and several images of him dance around his person. 1d4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6; (mirror image)

At Nowzai for action Round 2

Initiative: Nowzai, Epik, Sam, Magma, Nemoris, Motruk, Dalamus, Jenya, Zaur Sa, Kaurophon,

Sam:
You can read generic rakshasha information here but please dont click the links.

This particular rakshasha is a common one. They are highly resistant to spells and weapons except for blessed piercing ones. Masters of deceit and trained arcane casters nearly from birth, they have the ability to read thoughts at will

I'm so predictable!

Round 1:

I'll use my wand of longstrider and move to have line of sight on the enemies. If I'm able to cast that buff in the previous round then I'll take an attack as well:

Attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16 Damage: 1d8 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23 Miss:1d100 ⇒ 84 Crit: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16

Round 2:

Full round attack at a target, if I do not have unimpared line of sight to the rakasha I'll attack the giant (cold iron arrows):

Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (18) + 12 = 30 Damage: 1d8 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23 Miss:1d100 ⇒ 16 Crit: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (5) + 12 = 17
Attack: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16 Damage: 1d8 + 15 ⇒ (7) + 15 = 22 Miss:1d100 ⇒ 51 Crit: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (20) + 12 = 32

Competitive Regurgitation Round 2

Initiative: Nowzai, Motruk, Epik, Sam, Magma, Nemoris, Dalamus, Jenya, Zaur Sa, Kaurophon,

All 4 of Nemoris' arrows deflect off armor from the previous round

Nowzai fires a lance of sound at the rakshasha, hammering it with sonic energy. It recoils in pain, trapped by the tentacles as well.

Epik moves up and when he does, the fire giant bursts forward in a controlled sprint, using his shield to knock the paladin aside and to the ground. He continues through and rams his sword into Nowzai's stomach, searing heat leaching from the blade. The force of the blow staggers the wizard for 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4 rounds. (Make a DC25 Fort Save to reduce to 1 round)

Nemoris and Dalamus both get AoOs, please post in your next action if you take them

Sam, you may want to readjust your movement ... I've put you back where you were

Sam disappears and Magma steps forward to attack, again unable to penetrate armor. Nemoris fires a volley of arrows at the rakshasha and hit twice, but the magical creature's hide seems to ignore most of the damage.

Dalamus creeps up behind the giant and stabs at a weak joint but the cant penetrate the armor.

Jenya's action?

Zaur Sa, the rakshasha, struggles against his bonds. (Think I need a new roll each round from Nowzai)

Kaurophon pulls a wand and fires 5 magic missiles at the giant which thunder into him, causing the super sized dwarf to grunt in pain.

At Nowzai, top of the order

Competitive Regurgitation Round 3

Initiative: Nowzai, Motruk, Epik, Sam, Magma, Nemoris, Dalamus, Jenya, Zaur Sa, Kaurophon

Nowzai kips up and teleports away. (No AoO on that, correct?)

The fire giant stares down at Nemoris with blazing eyes, and his voice echoes from his chest, sounding like the roar of a forge.

Giant:

"Wizards and Archers ... cowards hiding behind metal walls and distance. Let's see how you fight without your crutch."

He lashes out with his blade at the ranger ... but aims for his bow, not the man.

Sunder vs Nemoris: 1d20 + 44 ⇒ (18) + 44 = 62; um hit.
Damage to bow: 2d6 + 24 + 1d6 ⇒ (2, 6) + 24 + (3) = 35; subtract hardness and halve the last 1d6 since it's fire damage. If your bow's hps are less than half, it's broken. If the hps are below 0, it's destroyed.

Epik cuts through the armored breastplate, spewing hot blood from the giant's back and gaining the massive thing's attention.

No post from Sam

Magma attacks several times, but the highly skilled and armored giant either dodges or deflects with his shield.

Nemoris may or may not fire a round of arrows ... likely will but will probably be broken, regardless none of them will hit

Dalamus moves in?

Jenya's action?

Not entirely sure why folks stopped posting ... need some input greater than once a week from some of you.

Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21 Damage: 1d8 + 16 ⇒ (1) + 16 = 17 Miss:1d100 ⇒ 21 Crit: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (7) + 13 = 20
Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16 Damage: 1d8 + 16 ⇒ (7) + 16 = 23 Miss:1d100 ⇒ 2 Crit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
Attack: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26 Damage: 1d8 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 24 Miss:1d100 ⇒ 86 Crit: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17

After the giant attacks my bow it will be broken, but not destroyed (30hp, 9 hardness)

Round 4:

My backup bow is fine, so for my 4th round I'll move back, drop my +2 bow and draw the backup. I believe I'll still have a single attack, which I'll make at the giant (backup bow is -1 to hit, -3 damage, which is included):

Attack: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (7) + 14 = 21 Damage: 1d8 + 13 ⇒ (8) + 13 = 21 Miss:1d100 ⇒ 7 Crit: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (13) + 14 = 27

Round 3

Jenya will move to Nowzai, cast another healing spell and drop her last Pro Evil 10'

3d8 + 9 ⇒ (3, 8, 2) + 9 = 22

Male Teifling Bladebound Magus 13 (AC 29 / Hp 127/ Init +7 / Fort +13 / Ref +14 / Will +13)

Round 2 (Since I didn't move up)

Sam will move up closer to the giant

Stealth - 1d20 + 16 + 20 ⇒ (12) + 16 + 20 = 48

Round 3

Sam enchant Mord'ael Keen, Frost, +5, will Defensive Cast Improved Shocking Grasp and attack with Fervor to attacks

Assuming he is wearing metal armor for the bonus to hit (I don't think he gets his Dex to AC for being Invis)

To Hit - 1d20 + 17 + 2 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 17 + 2 + 2 + 3 = 42
Damage - 1d6 + 9 + 11 + 10 + 1d6 + 10d6 ⇒ (6) + 9 + 11 + 10 + (6) + (4, 1, 2, 1, 4, 3, 5, 6, 6, 6) = 80
Confirm Crit - 1d20 + 17 + 2 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 17 + 2 + 2 + 3 = 40
Total Damage - 1d6 + 11 + 10d6 + 80 ⇒ (3) + 11 + (1, 1, 4, 6, 2, 6, 3, 2, 3, 6) + 80 = 128

To Hit - 1d20 + 17 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 17 + 2 + 2 = 32
Damage - 1d6 + 9 + 11 + 10 + 1d6 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 11 + 10 + (1) = 33

Total Damage - 1d6 + 9 + 11 + 33 ⇒ (1) + 9 + 11 + 33 = 54

To Hit - 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
Damage - 1d6 + 9 + 11 + 10 + 1d6 ⇒ (3) + 9 + 11 + 10 + (6) = 39

Defensive Cast DC 17 - 1d20 + 10 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 10 + 7 + 2 = 30

15 of that damage is frost

Male Teifling Bladebound Magus 13 (AC 29 / Hp 127/ Init +7 / Fort +13 / Ref +14 / Will +13)

Can Jenya get to Nemoris's dropped bow and pick it up without being attacked?

Round 4

I am not sure if I need to roll a stealth each round as I go back invis or not but here it is if I do

Stealth - 1d20 + 16 + 20 ⇒ (12) + 16 + 20 = 48

Sam will defensive cast Improved Shocking Grasp again and attack with Fervor to Attacks

To Hit - 1d20 + 17 + 2 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 17 + 2 + 2 + 3 = 43
Damage - 1d6 + 9 + 11 + 10 + 1d6 + 10d6 ⇒ (5) + 9 + 11 + 10 + (6) + (5, 2, 4, 4, 3, 2, 2, 2, 1, 4) = 70
Confirm Crit - 1d20 + 17 + 2 + 2 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 17 + 2 + 2 + 3 = 41
Total Damage - 1d6 + 11 + 10d6 + 70 ⇒ (3) + 11 + (6, 3, 2, 1, 4, 5, 6, 2, 6, 5) + 70 = 124

To Hit - 1d20 + 17 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 17 + 2 + 2 = 33

Confirm Crit - 1d20 + 11 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 11 + 2 + 2 = 24
Total Damage - 1d6 + 9 + 11 + 38 ⇒ (2) + 9 + 11 + 38 = 60

Defensive Cast DC 17 - 1d20 + 10 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 10 + 7 + 2 = 24

15 of that damage is frost

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

Dalamus will activate True Strike and study the fire giant this round.

Round 3 fill-ins

Initiative: Nowzai, Motruk, Epik, Sam, Magma, Nemoris, Dalamus, Jenya, Zaur Sa, Kaurophon

Sam strikes forward, invisible, and slashes a vicious blow at the giant's neck, electricity crackling. He embeds the blade into the thing's shoulder blade, but not before the giant just catches the edge of the hilt with the top of its shield slowing the follow through. The magus pulls the sword out and cuts the same way from the opposite side with nearly similar results

Fortification vs Sam's Crit + precision damage: 1d100 ⇒ 49; success!
Fortification vs Sam's 2nd Crit + precision damage: 1d100 ⇒ 64; success!

Dalamus studies and prepares this round and Nemoris' arrows either deflect off armor or fly wide embedding themselves in the walls. The last of his arrows causes a shudder in the tunnel and the flesh-like walls start to vibrate slightly. A strange pulsing noise approaches from below.

Jenya heals Nowzai again as the rakshasha continues to struggle.

Grapple: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17

Kaurophon summons a magical shield of force.

Round 4

Nowzai sends a ball of cacophonic sound blasting forward that stumbles the giant for a moment before bleeding and shocked, he lays about with his sword in several directions stepping to the northeast as he does so. He hammers Sam with a lucky well placed strike and hits Nemoris as well.

Martok vs Epik: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (1) + 20 = 21; miss
Martok vs Sam: 1d20 + 20 ⇒ (20) + 20 = 40; Miss Chance: 1d100 ⇒ 51; HIT!; Crit?: 1d20 + 20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 20 + 4 = 31; CRIT!; Damage: 4d6 + 48 ⇒ (6, 1, 6, 2) + 48 = 63 + staggered for 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 rounds; DC25 Fort Save to reduce to 1 round.
Martok vs Magma: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (8) + 15 = 23; miss
Martok vs Nemoris: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29; HIT!; CRIT?: 1d20 + 10 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 10 + 4 = 15; no, Damage: 2d6 + 24 ⇒ (1, 3) + 24 = 28

Epik strikes the giant again with another smoking gash from his holy blade.

At Sam for staggered round action since your post above is a spell combat action. Not sure what you mean by "go invisible" again. Greater invisibility doesn't end on an attack. Since you are still invisible, you can stealth to avoid him being able to pinpoint you again although if you stay in the same square (which you did) he can swing at it still ... stealth rules are sorta weird and stupid when combined with invisibility.

Male Fetchling Slayer 7/ Red Mantis 5

Dalamus will unleash three attacks on the giant.

Staggered by the blow, Sam stumbles backwards and quickly casts another spell on the giant while invisible

Slow - DC 20

Blessing to AC and Saves

Round 4 cont

Sam stumbles back and attempts to slow the giant's movements. He sees the sudden hesitation in the warrior's reflexes and smiles as he realizes that this fight is soon to be over.

Magma casts bless on the party drawing an attack from the giant who clobbers him during the spell casting. (Magma must succeed at a DC33 concentration check to cast his spell ... if he succeeds, everyone gets a +1 morale bonus to hit)

Nemoris fires wide.

Dalamus stabs the giant in the back, causing a bleeding wound.

Dalamus:
The sword whispers in your mind once you strike, a sound like a man spitting out his dinner, Bah, it is a creature of law and evil ... we should have converted him ... kill him if you must, but what a waste of a fine asset

Jenya heals and Kaurophon sends another round of missiles at the giant.

The Dice:

Martok Will Save: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (1) + 10 = 11; fail
