I usually play full caster, so it seems that this game has expanded our repertoire...lol.
Azarra
Full casters in my experience feel on par with martials somewhere around lvl 5-7 and by level 9 they're ahead.
I don't think most play-by-post games make it that high, but something to hope for, anyway. :)

Yeah sadly that's true. Highest I've got so far in pbp is a lvl 10 arcanist.
Kardas Rasalas
I want to object and say that wizards are way stronger than most people give them credit for, but that's only when you dare use your money as fuel for disposable items. Scrolls, pen them! Scrolls, use them! Grease! Sleep! Burning Disarm! They're cheap, spam 'em!
Maybe I should start an Arcane Evangelist Forum and broadcast that message over and over again.
.. but yeah, the arcanist gets the shaft because it doesn't get Scribe Scroll for free. Best take it ASAP ;D
Ishta Khosiv
It isn't really in my plans to take it. I'll have to do with what we can purchase in town. They'll be more expensive, but they'll take less spare time.
Ser Armithia-Seendren
My PFS Arcanist [White Mage] 20 did well enough without Scribe Scroll feat...lol.
Azarra
Darn it. I hope someone makes that second will save.

Sorry, everyone. Prepping my child for the science fair tomorrow and birthday party on Sunday wholloped me. I should be back to regular by tomorrow evening.
Ishta Khosiv
Ok, I think there has been some misunderstanding here.
I was intending to cast Enlarge Person (and posted likewise), but was reminded that it needed a full round. So I moved Ishta and did no casting at all. That was stated here.
So, next round, instead of casting Enlarge person, I did cast Color Spray. Stated here.
Now, Azarra reminds me that the the cage is there (sorry for not noticing before). I could move to one other spot where I could catch most people in the area, too (the square just at the right of Zane), but Ser is a grown up already (:P), from a spell I couldn't have cast because I moved every round (and got to be dealt an AoO, remember).
So... do you want me to go back to where I was?
Ser Armithia-Seendren
I literally laughed out loud! I shall await DM decision before posting my turn...
DM Fang Dragon
Happy to go with the enlarge never happened. I'll undo that on the map. Re Ser moving, he's surrounded so he's likely to take AOOs. Ser Armithia do you plan to heed Ishta's warning or risk eating a colour spray?
Ser Armithia-Seendren
I will attempt to take one out then move away?
Looks like all 3 will get AoOs, unless I can finish Purple...lol.
I will post in a bit.
Ishta Khosiv
You only need to 5-ft-step out, no AoO involved (unless they have certain feats). I will re-do the spell area, since it seems I can't be standing where I am right now.
Edit: Never mind, it seems all of this is already resolved. Moving on to do next round of actions.
Ser Armithia-Seendren
You guys never need be concerned if I take attacks. I want them...lol.
Kardas Rasalas
@GM: as far as I know, you can take a 5ft step after a move-equivalent action, such as drawing a weapon or potion.

Not that it matters much right now :D

Hmm OK then! I have to admit I'm warming up to the idea of 3 actions plus reaction per round PF2 has, much less confusing.
Ishta Khosiv
PF2? Oh, dear...
DM Fang Dragon
Yeah that was my initial reaction too, anyway it's too early to tell if will be any good although bits of it sound promising.
Ser Armithia-Seendren
I really like what they did for Starfinder.
Zane Levallis
Sorry for the delays...I'm an accountant, and have friends popping out of the woodworks for last minute tax prep.
Ishta Khosiv
I really like what they did for Starfinder.
Sadly, I can't say the same.
Azarra
Zane: sorry. It will all be over soon. :)
Ishta & Ser: I think I kind of agree with both of you, strange as that may seem.
I love Sci-Fi, and liked some of the ideas behind Starfinder and had fun making a couple of characters. I liked the interesting races and build options, and liked some of the ideas about how you could buy genetic modifications for your character and things like that.
When I started playing though, it seemed like weird things were too annoying and complex. Like I tried hacking a space taxi and got caught almost instantly, even though I rolled really high. Maybe the DC was higher than I could do, but the whole idea of "hacking" around security measures like that isn't really clear in terms of what you can and can't do, and how you can tell, and if it is almost impossible like that, it seems like a silly skill to be a main part of your character. And then the whole spaceship / spaceship battle thing is where both of my Starfinder campaigns died. It didn't seem very flexible in terms of who could do what, and that part didn't end up being very fun. Not sure if it is just because it is new and hasn't evolved or what. But anyway, after both of those games died I didn't want to try it again.
I hope Pathfinder 2.0 is better than Starfinder.
DM Fang Dragon
I'll up date us tomorrow, just flown across the Atlantic and I'm too tired to string a proper post together. If needs be I'll bot Kardas.
Ishta Khosiv
No problem. Where are you?
DM Fang Dragon
Currently in California. I got a surprise, it's colder than back in London!
Ishta Khosiv
Oh, I thought you were in Europe right now. You being around Cockneyland explains some of your posting schedules :P
Edit: Just read the Gameplay tab and realised Ishta didn't pass the Will save. So she's been acting without rolling for confusion, when she should have had to.
I guess you don't want to repeat all combat, but have it in mind if you want to compensate for it in next encounter, or something.
DM Fang Dragon
Oh well never mind, it was really intended as a flavor thing / minor nuisance.
Kardas Rasalas
It's gonna be +/- 25 degrees later this week in Holland ;o the weather's gone crazy.
Azarra
It is a nice balmy 50 degrees Fahrenheit in Missouri. :)
Ser Armithia-Seendren
We are having a nice wintery spring in Michigan...lol.
Kardas Rasalas
He takes a sip of water from a small glass and adds, "There's one other thing we think is in the Mansion somewhere. It's a small leather bound book, called The Founding of Phlan. I gather it's really boring, but supposedly there's a code inside it which allows access to Mantors Library which has been locked magically. Regaining access to the Library would be greatly appreciated it contains extensive lore and civic records. I'm afraid we don't know where either of these items are, but if I had to guess the book might be in Fengor the Illusionist's room."
So there's still that little bit of business that we ought to conclude :D
Azarra
Indeed; I think there is plenty here to conclude, including tons o loot once we break all the masks.

Wasn't that the book that we found tucked between the two others? Maybe I'm misremembering...
DM Fang Dragon
Kardas you've actually found that, I realize now I was inconsistent with the name.
Two books next to each other in one shelf turn out to have strong enchantments; The first a large leather bound time has an aura of abjuration; the other a slim midnight blue tome with silver leaf writing has an aura of conjuration. Curiously enough, wedged in between them is an otherwise unremarkable leather bound pamphlet entitled The History of Phlan.
There is however one thing you've yet to find.
The first is a small stylized raptor claw in bone, dyed green with a trio of golden links at the top to attach a lanyard. It looks for the world like an ordinary Unholy symbol of bane, except this one is special, it opens the secret sewer entrance into the nearby Temple of Bane.
Azarra
(Um, and loot. We still need to find lots of loot.)
Ser Armithia-Seendren
He is for AC, so no Enlarge. Thanks.

Re loot, the council now owes you a ton of money. Quinn incidentally is way too high level for you to face. The module blithely suggests level +6 foes at times.

I do miss me some Tomb of Horrors...lol.
Azarra
I get it if Quinn is too high level for us now... is there any other way we can keep Natalia and her sister (and maybe the others that we tied up) safe? Can the implants or whatever be removed so they can't be tracked anymore?

These are good questions, perhaps one of the NPCs in town might be able to help? (for the right price of course).

Ok. I just reread the wiki information about Helm. I didn't see anything that would prevent Ser Armithia from going along with the stated plan for the prisoners, and Mother and Daughter.

You where offered 250 gold for each of the lesser thieves and 1000 for The Night Walker. I'll have to tot up how many where killed / captured in the end. The auguries stated the number 17 but auguries are notoriously inaccurate ;)
The arrows and the spell book are actually fairly valuable too and then there's the contents of Quinn's room - you're not doing badly considering you're level 3!
Azarra
We need to finish going through the rooms we haven't been in, break all the masks, and see what is underneath. I'm looking forward to more mundane magic stuff like the sheets with endure elements cast on them. Awesome stuff! :)
But when we get to that point, I like Zane's idea of explaining them as prisoners of the guild who were instrumental in helping us take them down. That should buy us some time at least.

The Second Story Gang would no longer be a nuisance to the citizens of New Phlan.
Aw, man, you just had to say it, right? :P
Kardas Rasalas
Sorry, had some really crazy days at work. Will try to catch up later tonight or, failing that, first thing tomorrow.
