What we lack in Survival; we make up in ingenuity!

Azarra |

Okay, if there isn't anything else in the pyramid and we don't need to go with the lizardmen, then I think we need to do the sending and then ... off to find Mirabel?

Ishta Khosiv |

Do we need to rest for Zane to do the sending? In that case, Ishta will rearrange her spells too.
This dragon must die! (Must die, must die!)

Azarra |

Yeah, we have to sleep first, and totally agree that the dragon must die. They said it went north, so maybe we can track it down, though I am still wondering how we are going to kill it when it can just fly away.

DM Fang Dragon |

Sidebar: There's a lot of places in the realms where Teleport doesn't work. Security is a large part of this, e.g. that's why Myth Drannor and other mythals interdict it. Also it just trivialises the adventure of getting somewhere.
If you don't mind I'd rather you buy a bunch of overland flight scrolls or something than try to scry & teleport there. I don't have any problems with magical flight and neither do the dragons ;)

Azarra |

So, looks like we have a disagreement, so we need a vote... who wants to go back to Phlan (or any other plan) rather than go find Mirabel?

Ser Armithia-Seendren |

No problems then. We walk. I was only trying to do as many things as possible; but, this is fine too.
These boots are made for walking, anyways...lol.

Ishta Khosiv |

I find good and bad points in each choice. I'll just say let's go YOLO and see if we can kill the dragon and find out about Azarra's parents.
I think it's my Flumefire here speaking, but you know...

DM Fang Dragon |

FYI I'm waiting for somebody to reply to the elder's offer to recall the scouts :)

Azarra |

I'm not there, so I can't respond, sorry.

Ser Armithia-Seendren |

I was under the assumption that we could just retcon that bit; as our Bard has gone off wandering in the wilderness...lol.
I would prefer that we all went together with a proper Survival Guide; but if not....let's all do this!

DM Fang Dragon |

Retcons make everything complicated! Azarra could have responded since my post was a retcon.
Anyway.unless somebody objects the current timeline has most of the party going immediately and Ser Armithia waiting a few minutes for the scouts.
Please let me know if you want to make any changes to that, I'll give y'all a day before I make another gameplay post.

Ser Armithia-Seendren |

Ser Armithia wouldn't wait if the party takes off. He will be with them.

Azarra |

Ser, you can do that *and* be with us. I said in gameplay that I waited till everyone caught up, so you came a few minutes later than everyone... we're all there together, with the scout you invited.

Ser Armithia-Seendren |

Ok. Cool!

Azarra |

Heads Up -- I will be traveling/visiting with family starting November 18th through December 2.
Traveling days I won't be able to post (driving cross-country), and I am not sure whether I will have time while visiting with family, so please feel free to either bot my character or put her on ice in the meantime.
Apologies for the extended absence. I'll be on mostly normally till Wednesday, so if you have questions/requests before I go, let me know.

Kardas Rasalas |

I'll apologize in advance for any typos and or slow posting, but I broke my glasses last Saturday. I will be ordering new ones tomorrow and it will then take one to two weeks before I get them >_<
The girl at the store said it will most likely be just one week, but yeah, I'm already getting headaches from not having them.

DM Fang Dragon |

That sounds super annoying! Hope the replacements come soon.

DM Fang Dragon |

OK then I'm gonna assume y'all ok with me processing the round as is, will get a post up in an hour or so.

DM Fang Dragon |

Anyone fancy botting Kardas?
Ishta I'll need a will save from you unfortunately.

Azarra |

I can post regularly now, just in case anyone wants to wake me up... but if not, no worries. :)

Will get a post up tomorrow, sorry for the slow turnaround of last. Will be on a staycation in a week or so and will have way more free time.

Hi folks with the Christmas period especially in this strange covid world we find ourselves in, I actually have more free time than usual so I'm able to post more if you are. No worries if you're busy of course!
Anyway my goal for 2021 is to bring this campaign to a satisfying conclusion probably in the summer. We're getting towards the end game now.

Ishta Khosiv |

Satisfying... for whom? :P

Azarra |

Ha ha Ishta. :)

Ser Armithia-Seendren |

This has been a pleasure to be a part of! Thank you everyone!
Now let's go out and make a difference!

Ishta Khosiv |

So now that you've mentioned... Do you have an estimate as to what level should we reach by the end of the game?

DM Fang Dragon |

@Ser Armitior I'll give you an update soon, got a bit late though doing a battlemap for my other game.

Ser Armithia-Seendren |

No worries...lol. I had my Roll20 Extinction's Curse last night; and currently, my Roll20 Against the Aeon Throne tonight!

Azarra |

So... I don't know if this is a mistake or a plot point.
The original note from Talia says that she has a poisoned arrow in her thigh, but the person I found has a stomach wound. Not sure if I just healed the wrong person, or if the description was off. :)

DM Fang Dragon |

Ok so Azarra has a side quest but I'd like to try and bring everyone else together. We could just say Zane, Ser Armithia, Kardas and Ishta have met up. If so is there anything you want to do while you wait for Azarra?

Azarra |

Yeah, sorry for the side quest guys. Hopefully heading back now. We'll have to juggle tasks though, since I think we now have three. This one is the most pressing though, I think...

Ser Armithia-Seendren |

I thought we were helping Delenn and crushing the Zhentils?

Azarra |

If you want to do that, go for it. There is an auction in two days that I have to be at though.

Zane Levallis |

I'm assuming this also plays into the quest Braccio first mentioned about clearing the gate?

Ser Armithia-Seendren |

I will need to go back and read your spoilers. I don't read them as a rule; unless directed at me....

Ser Armithia-Seendren |

I am having a difficult time convincing our gold elf Paladin to partake in a deceit-based mission....any suggestions?
He can't lie; which means no disguise, bluffing or anything close to that type of activity.
He would be able to directly interfere if the cause was just; and he receive Lawful permission from the Council.

Azarra |

Hmm. Interesting. If the council asking you to do this isn't enough, then maybe you should just wait outside the doors until we let the army in. Then you'll be there when the real fighting happens.

Ser Armithia-Seendren |

I attempted to play a Paladin in Season 5 of PFS years back....he lasted until 2nd level, then I changed him into a Bard!
Paladins are such a pain the the arse!
ALL my other characters would--definitely--be on board!
I wonder if I could import a certain Blue-scaled kobold...lol.

DM Fang Dragon |

Ser Armithia raises an interesting point but the level of deceit involved which is very much up to the party. You could attempt to bid for the orb in good faith, this may even work. Equally you could attempt to steal it. Is taking a dangerous super weapon from monsters actually stealing? Possibly not! I can't imagine Helm complaining about an alpha strike that freed slaves and captures the orb so it could be destroyed. Of course actually pulling that off will be difficult.
Re subtifuge: I do think Helm would have problems with Ser Armithia lying actively and to a lesser extent by omission. But Helm doesn't require lawful stupid, clever use of tactics and misdirection (up to a point) are valid tactics in war and are OK especially when done with the right intentions for the greater good.
What if Ser Armithia pretended to be a prisoner? I think actually that would be OK since he'd be taking great personal risk in doing so - this is not he act of a coward.
What happens if Ser Armithia where to use a disguise? This would I'm sure put the poor knight in a most uncomfortable spot. Paladins don't really do this. Invisibility would be safer. I suppose you could construe invisibility as a sort of lie too, but this falls under valid tactics imo.

Ishta Khosiv |

Potentially useful spells that could be added to Ishta's book for the situation at hand:
Scrying (of we want to know what's in there)
Summon Monster IV: Aether Elemental (those guys have constant invisibility! And telekinesis!)
Gaseous Form (if we want to sneak in, combined with Invisibility)
Monstrous Physique (if we're gonna pass as one of them, why not profit from the advantages?)
Mirror Transport (for a quick and glamouroso entrance)
Emergency Force Sphere (if we need to buy some time)
So we have three options. We can:
-disguise as whatever and infiltrate the auction, trying to buy the orb.
-disguise as whatever and, once inside, try to subdue them/open the door for Phlan troops to get in
-force our way in and try to open the door (we could teleport near the door and set a Wall of Ice and some other protections, si we have some time to open the lock/destroy the door)
If there's any option I have skipped, or anything else you might want to add, feel free to do so, as well as indicated which is your preferred method.

Ser Armithia-Seendren |

I can see Ser Armithia approving 2 and 3.
Well done Ishta. I like the Wall spells. Really good options on the battlefield.

Azarra |

There are literally hundreds of enemies in there. I don't see that we will have much of a chance if people know who we are or we do anything obviously.

DM Fang Dragon |

Wandering around openly in the castle square would be a bad idea. At the auction table is a different matter, there money talks.

Kardas Rasalas |

Apparently Paizo had some hardware problems yesterday thanks to a storm (?). If you got troubles logging in, clear your cookies, and you should be able to log in again.
