I am thinking of submitting a Ranger
How do I go about doing so like other people have?
First create a character alias.
A character alias is like another ID on the forums for PBP games.
To create an alias;
1)right click on account at the top (so you don't loose this page),
2)sign in
3)in "Messageboard Aliases" click on "Create new messageboard alias"
4)put in the alias' name in alias name field
5)under avatar image, click change, select an avatar that matches the character concept as close as possible and click on it. (it takes time to load)
6)click on "submit changes" and the alias is created, but is blank.
7)in "Messageboard Aliases" you'll now see your new character alias, click on it and you'll be taken to the profile page,
8)click on create profile and fill it in will all the needed data, you can use Brigette above as a template, just click on her name.

I am very interested, and have two characters that haven't progressed past concept. Which one I prefer varies by the moment, so I'll put them both up and let you decide. One is an escaped slave halfling rogue with designs of establishing a nation of escaped (especially halfling) slaves. The other is a bastard monk with ties to the ruling family, he just wants to create a vassal of Brevoy to make it more powerful. I'll work on them and post them up after the kids are in bed tonight.

Hi, joined just recently here, would like to play in this campaign, might need a little help to get started up and used to things, but am not a complete beginner at these games.
Will try to figure out alias and such later, for now I wish to hear if the GM actually approves of the presence of my person here, I am also not sure about if the campaign name is Kingmaker or if it is some additional book that is needed. I know Pathfinder basically, was RP-ing most my life, but had no chance to actually play Pathfinder yet, despite that I think it is better than E3.5 or E4
Also, I am Hungarian, so excuse any typos and somesuch, hope I am still writing proper enough to not need a dictionary or someone extra to decipher my scribbling.
As for character: not knowing what to make yet, if GM has suggestions or requests based on the lack of some necessary class that is not around yet, then I will cook up some concept based on that. If the party has a lot of nobles I will probably make some street urchin, if the opposite then maybe an elven noble

FYI I updated my sheet, changed my 1st level favored class bonus to +1 Skill Point (for Craft Weapons) and then also changed Sense Motive to Craft Blacksmith.
I am basically using Craft (Blacksmith) as a catch all for the mudane things a smith would know how to make or do (mend or make pots, mudane tools, ect). Profession Blacksmith could also work.
Its up to you DM which you would prefer him to have for Flavor.

@Marketus Jackson Profession Blacksmith seems more appropriate for what your trying to do with it.
Lots of great submissions everyone, this is going to take a while to pick the party
Same bonus either way haha. Keeping Craft (Weapons) and Craft (Armor) and will switch Craft Smith to Profession Smith to cover the mundane stuff.
EDIT: And Done. If anything looks amiss to anyone please let me know :)

I have decided to close recruitment early, I feel like I have an excellent party to work with here
Bydar, Cleric of Shelyn
Bridgette Valerius, Barbarian/Monk
Marketus Jackson, Oracle of Metal
Raxus Half Blood, Barbarian
Petriak Krupt, Sorceror
Thanks to all who submitted, but these 5 fit what I was looking for in a party. Gameplay thread will be opened up by 3pm EST tommorow. I will address any concerns with these characters in the discussion thread

Woot! Yay! And other boisterous signs of happiness!
Thanks.

Sorry man.
Something I've noticed in recruitment threads is that GMs like 2 things in particular-
1) A clear, concise layout of abilities in an Alias. (I use spoilers to separate my character sheet into sections)
2) Characters that use mechanics they understand well that fill a clear party roll.
That plus a conversational writing style will get you pretty far.
There's a PBP beginner's guide linked in my profile. It might help you.
Good luck in the future.

@ Edward: If I had to put a finger on it, I would say it's because your character is a Word Caster. Your character looks well thought out and put together, but I’m not sure how many GMs out here have experience with Word Casting, or want to take the time to learn it. You may be getting rejected on that item alone. Just a thought. In the future you might ask if the GM is up for working with Word Casting and if not, submit a standard caster.

ThorGN |

@ Sade: I don’t see anything glaring. Your Stat Black could use some more formatting as it’s a little hard to read. What you may be running into is that since Kingmaker is a wilderness setting campaign, GMs may prefer a Barbarian or Ranger over a Fighter to fill the melee/tank role in the party.
Also, you only posted once in this thread. If you post multiple times, asking questions, showing interest in other characters, etc. then the GM will be more likely to think of your character as a part of the party come selection time. Just a thought.

Honestly, if I were the GM I'd have no problem with Sade. You write well and have a concise layout.
The only issues I can see come from party role and personality.
Dex based fighters take about 4 levels to "warm up". Until them they're usually forced into the role of "secondary melée damage dealer", the same role usually filled by a rogue, monk or ranger, but the Dex fighter doesn't have the skills to fill out other niches too.
Personality-wise, Sade is a little bit boring. The "arrogant, ambitious noble swordsman" is a classic concept but needs a little something extra to make it 'pop'.
Why not try using a trait or two to give him some unexpected flavor? Something not really part if his core concept, but still interesting and useful.
