Petronicus di Baradin served as a loyal member of the Chelaxian Army for several years. Holding positions from scout to cavalrymen. During his time in the army he discovered much to his chagrin that there was an inordinate amount of corruption throughout the organization. Pertronicus chose the honorable route of leaving the service rather than suffer criminal orders from criminal leadership. Having no desire to retire and return home Petronicus headed north and east to the River Kingdoms thinking he would take up duties with the local law-enforcement. When he arrived however, he quickly realized there was little regard for the law. What little there was changed at the whim of the Kings. This grated his nerves to no end and he again began to head north. Reaching the southern border of Brevoy, Petronicus took a liking to the beautiful land, and lingered while he sorted out his role in the world. Living mostly in the wilderness using survival skills learned during his days as a scout he roamed the wild hills living the life of a pioneer. Never truly taking to the solitude he became restless.
It has been six years and recently Petronicus was set upon by a group of bandits. He slew several but quickly found himself outnumbered and surrounded. Deciding that he had seen his last day he saluted the bandits and charged the leader. At that moment thundering hooves could be heard coming down the road behind him. Two men wearing black suits of plate armor charged through the bandits dispatching four on their first pass. Wheeling about they charged again finishing off the remaining bandits. Petronicus managed to lay low the leader without killing the man. The two Hellknights dismounted and approached the surrendered man. "The Hellknights charge you with strong armed robbery, murder, and attempted murder. Crimes punishable in all lands, and certainly wherever a Hellknight passes." With that he pulled his helmet from his head tossing it aside. " You are hereby sentenced to death." A sentence that was immediately carried out. From that day forward Petronicus has aspired to join their ranks. To become a Hellknight and bring justice and order to the world. Petronicus expressed his intentions to the men and in return they told him of the Stolen Lands. "That makes a fine opportunity to prove oneself to our order boy." Petronicus now heads that way to prove himself worthy of the title Hellknight and if he inadvertently leaves a path of law and order in his wake so be it.

Clearing six feet five inches Petronicus carries his muscle unassumingly. Dark hair tanned skin with bright blue eyes he is fit and trim from an active life and carries himself with confidence. He is courteous and minds his manners without being stiff and arrogant. While humble in most regards he is confident in his swordsmanship. Petronicus is law abiding but holds no allegiance to any particular ruler. Rather he believes that laws are made guidelines much as the tenets of a religion. Orders are to be followed but not blindly and with no regard to morality. He feels no need to go out of the way to protect those who make no effort to protect themselves, unless they physically cannot. Criminals are to be dealt with or turned over to the authorities in his eyes and infractions are not to be tolerated.
