Welcome and congratulations!
Remember: 20 point buy, Max HP at 1st level, average starting wealth, and two traits.
Roll Call:
Hawkeye Talquimm - Eagle Shaman
Skorabor Skalfgrin Boulderback - Fighter
Occa - Cleric of Gozreh
Durvin Tamish - Bard
Stark - Wordcasting Sorceror
Once you have your alias created and stats incorporated, post here and I'll look over it for you. If you'd like to modify your backstory so that you know each other, you may do so as well. Now's your chance to discuss and get to know each other a little bit before we start.
I would like to begin by Monday, if possible.

Hawkeye Talquimm |

Yay! Thank you for choosing me!
"May the Sky Father and Earth Mother smile and look after their sons and daughters on this beautiful day." Hawkeye finishes his prayer and begins preparing for the day. When ready he proceeds down the stairs of the Rusty Dragon Inn.
--------------------------
I figured for combat I'll be scouting, summoning birds, buffing/controlling and raining arrowy death.
To elaborate on my backstory, I'm thinking the caravan I came easily could have had some of you with it. To speed things along with meeting people it would be nice to be able to have established friendly relations with at least one of you I think. My character isn't anti-social or a loner, just his tribe is relatively small and remote.
Besides, intertweaving backstories is fun!

Hawkeye Talquimm |

That sounds perfect. Roleplaying in an OOC thread is allowed, right? I'm trying to warm up and get the creative juices flowing so we can start the game off right.
Hawkeye would be curious about you and your tattoos.
"My friend, you have many ink animals on your flesh. Why you do this? My people believe these defy our Earth Mother and Sky Father's commands."
His tribe believed tattoos to be disrespectful and said to disrupt their connection and affinity to animals and the natural world.

Stark Mostovoi |

"These 'ink animals' are a reminder to myself. Let's just leave it at that for now."
The pain of being disowned by his father is still fresh in his mind, and as such, won't be very forthcoming with things he considers "deeply personal". I'm sure some more will be revealed throughout this "adventure" =)

Durvin Tamish |

Thank you, I've had a hard copy of the AP since it came at the tail end of my Dungeon and Dragon sub. I don't use modules though so I was waiting for someone to run it.
Yes Occa and I had both arrived by ship, I believe it was the "Tears of Home".
I have a fair amount done in the profile, but I was wondering if there are any RotRL specific traits. I can't find any. If not, are just any two okay?

So we should at least know each other in passing then.

Any two are fine. I don't think there are any campaign specific traits for RotRL. In fact, the traits that are found in the Player's Guide are reproduced in the APG.

Hawkeye Talquimm |

"Well met, Stark. May a large portion of peace be on your plate for the day. It was my 18th nameday, less than one moon ago. I chose to ride out and see all of the creations. In truth my eyes grew tired of the same sights I have seen since I was a man-cub. I desire to see the world. I desire to meet people. People with strange customs like you"He cracked a smile and a light chuckle at that last sentence. "and to defend creation from those that do not revere its wonder and power."

"Well met, Stark. May a large portion of peace be on your plate for the day. It was my 18th nameday, less than one moon ago. I chose to ride out and see all of the creations. In truth my eyes grew tired of the same sights growing up. I desire to see the world. I desire to meet people. People with strange customs like you, even."He chuckled. "and to defend creation from those that do not revere its wonder and power."
"I've been out on my own for the better part of two years now. I was forced from my home. My 19th 'nameday' isn't for another three 'moons'."
Using '' because im not sure if that's the common words used, or if 'year' or 'months' just aren't used.. if they are, replace one for the other.

Hawkeye Talquimm |

Hawkeye is still learning the common tongue. I assume normal english is the standard. His people have different but equal words for things such as birthday, month, etc. I was just doing that to show that he comes from a remote area where their terms may or may not be the same. That also is why his sentence structure isn't always correct.

Patrik Ström |

Wee, thanks for selecting me! I'll get started on statting out Skorabor tomorrow, as work has been quite plentiful today. One thing i'll ask before that though is if it's ok for me to take the "Glory of old" trait. It's from the "Dwarves of Golarion" book and something i think fits quite well with his background and concept.
As for the building relationships between the characters before the game starts, Skorabor has also travelled to Sandpoint by boat. If the Tears of Home has room for one more he could have easily boarded that boat on his hasty departure from Riddleport.
Hopefully i can be more active tomorrow.

Durvin Tamish |

As the Sea Singer Bard World Traveler replaces Bardic Knowledge (the only thing I don't like about the archetype). Do I still get to use the 3 knowledge skills in World Traveler untrained like in Bardic Knowledge, or do I only get a bonus to them, but it does not matter if I don't have them trained?

Occa |

** spoiler omitted **
Yes Occa is recycled. I thought I caught everything but that teaches me to mess with hero lab with a sinus headache. Thanks for the catch. Fixing now.
I love the background of life on the "Tears". As the ship doc and mage/priest Occa would have a good ammount of free time to spend with Durvin. This would have given durvin a friend on board and increased his alienation from the rest of the crew. I think Occa's decision to move to dry land for a time was welcome to both characters.

Occa |

DM Duke |

Go for it! This is a good opportunity to do some role-playing and character introductions. Once everyone has decided whether or not to attend the opening remarks, I'll post again. Then you'll have a chance to explore Sandpoint a little bit, or dance, or do whatever. When role-playing slows down I'll progress the time to the next event, etc.

Patrik Ström |

Just remembered one thing. I'd like to add a "Weapon cord" (from the "Adventurer's armory" companion book) to Skorabor if it's not to late.

If nothing else Sandpoint should carry it in a shop somewhere. Good reason to poke around.

DM Duke |

Skorabor: You'll be able to find a weapon cord in Sandpoint after the opening ceremonies.
Occa: The Rusty Dragon Inn isn't close enough to hear and see what's going on. You'll have to move closer. I'll provide everyone with a map, hopefully tomorrow.
I also need to put together the first combat map so I can get a head start...

Skora, I like the name mixing up. I think it's intentional. The pathfinders, the rusty dragon. I think it's a neat character flaw that will be fun to see throughout the game.
I notice I'm playing a little kender-esque, but it just seems to be how Durvin feels to me. I hope people don't dislike Kender so much that it becomes an issue. I will not be doing the most annoying parts of Kender (theft, ignorance, curiosity).

Haha! The pathfinder-part was intentional, but the rusty dragon wasn't :) I just noticed that i renamed it "The red dragon" in my post. Skorabor must be rubbing off on me.

After having lost a couple in college classes online, I ALWAYS do a CTRL+A (select all), CTRL+C (copy) before I submit. It has saved me a few times.
I hit submit, the page times out, I just go back to it, paste, and hit submit again.

I hope the difficulty on these festival games aren't too difficult!
I'll be working on how the rest of the games work tonight (see my most recent post in the game thread for the ring toss). I have a relatively busy weekend though, so I may not be able to post much, if at all. My goal is to come up with the game rules and then let you know how they work in a comprehensive post. You may go ahead and attempt each one at leisure then.
Until then, feel free to find each other (you can assume you will without making checks from this point on, the town's not too big). Then roleplay to your heart's content. I'm really enjoying the dynamic so far and I can't wait to see how you all work as a team!

Occa |

Well traditionally they are rather rigged. Mind you dc15 at a -6 means that unless you have a +2 from dex or bab or feat you are hitting only on a 20. But I don't mind. Carnival games are like vegas. You know you are going to lose the trick is to have fun on the way.

Stark Mostovoi |

Updated profile to include description:
Before you, stands a tall young male with pale skin and dark brown (almost black) hair. He wears a black coloured short-sleeve shirt, with matching loose breeches, a blood red coloured vest, and sandals. Adorning his arms, (what you see of) his legs, and his face are strange symbolic tattoos.
Also, what's the calender date, in game, today?
