Ayre |

Lets do it Between Ayre and the other magical fellows, everyone is flying

Ayre |

Well we don't want to be seen so here we go
Ayre pulls a wand and makes everyone invisible for 1 minute, then he hands a wand of Admonishing Ray to Rocky

DM Davy Jones |

Invisible and flying you easily land unobtrusively around the captain on the shore.
There's not really a map here but if you guys go into combat mode I can fudge one together I think.
She seems unaware of your presence as she directs magical unseen servants to drag wares to the ship she's almost finished packing in a hurry.

Yuki Okano |

"We have you surrounded. Surrender now or you die!" Yuki says in a menacing tone from her invisible position.
Intimidate: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17
Assuming that doesn't work, Yuki is going to attack, which will signal the others to do so.

DM Davy Jones |

The sorceress looks startled at your appearance and takes a step back.
Whoa there! Let's not be hasty. I know I raided your ship but you more than dealt with that I think - maybe we can work out a deal?

Yuki Okano |

"The only deal I'm interested in is taking all your stuff. You have 10 seconds to convince me that you have anything else to offer."

Galean "Rafter" Santiago |

Galean lands heavily next to the woman, letting out a screech from his massive beak. "Caaaaa!", he screeches out, before taking a not-too-terrifying seabird shuffle to the side.
IntimidAid: 1d20 - 1 + 4 ⇒ (2) - 1 + 4 = 5Almost got it. Almost.

Ayre |

diplo or intimidate?
either way, Ayre will remain invisible and ready to act

DM Davy Jones |

You're right, intimidate in this instance. I suppose you could roll Diplomacy too - play good pirate, bad pirate.

Yuki Okano |

After being sneak attacked with illusion magic and having her ship damaged by a magic wall, Yuki has no issue casting a damaging spell on the other captain, "I guess you still have like 5 more seconds if you want to talk a deal."
Casting Burst of Radiance on the other captain. She needs to make a DC 16 Reflex save. If she fails, she's Blinded for 1d4 ⇒ 1 round. If she succeeds, she's just Dazzled for 1 round.
If she's evil then she takes 5d4 ⇒ (2, 1, 4, 3, 3) = 13 damage also.

Ayre |

When in Pirate Rome I guess...
Rocky activates the wand he holds
1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28 UMD
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21 for 4d6 ⇒ (6, 1, 5, 1) = 13
Ayre also lets loose his Admonishing Ray
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11 for 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 4, 3) = 16
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26 for 4d6 ⇒ (4, 1, 3, 3) = 11
note both Ayre and Rocky are invisible and attacking touch
Three bright green rays shoot out from the pair that slowly appears and slam into the captain
non-lethal

OK, no more aiding!
"What the...did you just have a bird threaten me?"
"Caw.", calmly confirms Galean, raising his beak in the air. Taking a step forwards, a vicious claw opens, ready to grab the woman as soon as she starts doing anything aggressive. "Caw-Ptooo?", the bird screeches at Yuki quizzically with the sound of a badly trained speaking parrot.
Readied Grab: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25
AoO Grab if she starts Casting: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (14) + 14 = 28

Bahrin Fenneaor |

"That bird'll mess you up if you're not careful," says Bahrin easily. He seems to wait with his hands by his sides, wiggling his fingers expectantly.
Ready action: If she starts to cast a spell, magic missile.
Readied magic missile damage, if applicable: 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (4, 4, 1, 3) + 4 = 16

DM Davy Jones |

Well, this isn't much of a fight anyhow, so we're gonna skip it. Because I am uninterested in dragging this out - sorry to combat massacre fans.
After a few short, incredibly bloody seconds where the pirate queen is stabbed, blinded, burned by magic and rent by angry claws she falls onto the sands; one hand stretches plaintively out towards her escape ship as she futilely grasps towards that imagined freedom before expiring.
On her body you find: a wand of shield, a cloak of resistance +2, a rope of climbing, a periscope and a spyglass. She also has a masterwork falchion that did her no good at all.
After ransacking the base you find cargo worth 6 points of plunder - mostly timber, leather, spice and various ship's equipment but there's a locked chest with a mithral dagger set with aquamarines worth 900 gp, a Shackles ensign, 320 gp in loose coin and a spell book. I can detail the spells if you need me to.
Finally Nymph, looking through the camp, stumbles across Galean rummaging through barrels looking for a drink. He gasps and Nymph helps him haul a golden statue of a wasp out of the barrel - the very relic you were seeking. If you can remember why you were out here after all this time.

DM Davy Jones |

I forgot!
Yuki meanwhile discovers a pair of fogcutting lenses on a band around the pirate captains neck, explaining how she was able to see through the fog.

Ayre |

DM I would like to know what spells
Ayre grabs the spellbook quickly, and the wand
how many charges on the wand

Galean "Rafter" Santiago |

Loot updated.
"I was looking for... lemons. I swear.", Galean says, before looking at the wasp. "So, we found it.", he continues as he walks outside onto the main deck. "Hmmm. Captain, would this completely abandoned ship that we just captured be a good time to talk about what we're considering our role to be in the fluctuating political specter of the Mwangi Expanse and the Pirate Council?", he asks in a single breath, before looking around.
"I mean, Free Captaining is important, is all, and so is not dying."

Bahrin can feel the statue vibrate angrily in response to the his referring to the Calistrian priestesses as "hookers".

Yuki Okano |

"Ahem, I better take that relic before you curse us all, Bahrin." Yuki says quickly as she removes it from the Sorcerer's presence. "I, for one, have nothing but the upmost respect for the Priestesses of Calistra no matter what role they serve their goddess."
We'll grab the loot, fix the ship and head back to the temple, unless I'm forgetting something.

DM Davy Jones |

After a...
1d100 ⇒ 96
...uneventful journey back to Quent, you wait in the gardens of the House of Stolen Kisses for the high priestess.
Are you buying anything in town or just handing the statue over?

Yuki Okano |

"Okay, let's hand over the statue first, then whoever wants to spend the night at the temple can do so, while me and Galean will try to whip up some more Infamy. Does that sound good to everyone?"

DM Davy Jones |

After you wait a bit, studiously ignoring the whispered invitations and low moans that seem to permeate the House of Stolen Kisses, a slightly dishelved and thoroughly satisfied looking Dindreann sways towards you.
Ah, my good friends you have returned. Dare I hope you bring something to sate the Lady's desires?
Calistrians, whatever else they may be, appear to be experts at inserting innuendo into any occassion.

DM Davy Jones |

Dindreann immediately sharpens his gaze and stares at Bahrin.
Really? Well, bring it out! We ahve to place this within the Temple at once.
She flashes a crooked smile at you.
The Lady is many things but patient is not one of them.

Yuki Okano |

With a grin, Yuki pulls the statue out of its cloth wrapping and presents it to the Priestess. "We acted as agents of retribution on those who stole it. Now, if you wouldn't mind, could you tell us what we want to know?"

Galean "Rafter" Santiago |

I don't think we want Galean running the Infamy check. As far as bad decision go, this one is about a 7, and that's only on a 1 to 5 scale.
Galean stares slack-jawed at the priestesses again, nodding at the Captain. "Yeah... uh... we came here to know stuff.", he affirms with confidence in his voice. "And if we knew what it was, then we wouldn't need to know it, right?", he attempts to impress with his wisdom.
We were looking for Chelish spies, right?

DM Davy Jones |

Spell List!: mirage arcana, overland flight, fear, hallucinatory terrain, phantasmal killer, wall of fire, haster, invisibility sphere, major image, stinking cloud, vampiric touch, false life, fog cloud, invisibility, mirror image, rope trick, scorching ray, burning hands, color spray, grease, mage arrmor, magic missile, ray of enfeeblement, all cantrips, knock, wall of force and water breathing. Also, 20 charges.
I do indeed, Dindreann purrs at you. Now, you wished to learn about spies in the Shackles?
She gestures you towards an arbour and artfully drapes herself across a stone bench to show herself, amazingly, to her best advantage regardless of where you sit.
As you can imagine we see many sailors and they are often loose lipped after an evening with us. One of our patrons is a scrimshander - he does absolutely marvelous work by the way, he carved me an incredible pipe showing Calistria flaying Asmodeus as he screams in pleasure - named Jaymiss Keft.
She pats her hair artfully to allow her dress to fall open.
Now Keft is a bit of a gossip and absolutely everyone comes to his shop in Drenchport. He told a comely maiden priestess that he knows of a spy operating in the Shackles. Normally I'd laugh that sort of thing off but Keft is simply compulsively truthful after coitus; it's really quite amusing how many men are, the silly fools. Still they do have their uses, don't they my good Captain? Well, I hear you're married to the Lady of the Rock so maybe they have one less use for you than me.
She smiles slyly as she says this, letting you know she's compiled a bit of information on you as well. You have to wonder which of your crew may have spent the evening in the temple telling tales.

Yuki Okano |

Yuki smiles bashfully in return, then clears her throat, "Um, thanks a lot for the information Dindreann, we appreciate your openness. Now, unless one of my crew has anything else to ask, I'll bid you good night."
Was there anything else we needed to ask about? If not, Yuki will find a bar to try to sound intimidating while my guess is that the rest of the crew will be making use of the temple and then Fortitude checks in the morning.

Galean "Rafter" Santiago |

Galean blushes, then adds, "My auntie was a captain and she used to say stuff like... that. But insisted that we're really good with jars and tall shelves.", he confirms, nodding with a wise nod. "So, does anyone mind if I stay here and ask how to intimat... interrogate Chelish spies? I'm pretty sure they've got the knowledge and all."
Galean will probably stay in the temple, unless large animals are required somewhere else. I'd really want to help with the infamy, but we all know how that usually goes.

DM Davy Jones |

It's up to you of course but you've got everything you need to be off in my opinion!

Yuki Okano |

After the meeting at the Temple, Yuki finds a local bar and attempts to raise her crew's infamy with some intimidating rhetoric.
Anyone who wants to aid can feel free to come along.
Using the Orison Enhanced Diplomacy to aid the roll.
Intimidation (Infamy) roll + ED: 1d20 + 14 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 14 + 2 = 36
"...The Hurricane King's First Mate was furious when we easily defeated his giant and won his platinum..."
"...With the power of a gorilla and fire, we cowed everyone in the bar and made them run in terror..."
"...The ambusher captain begged mercy, but I would have none of it after she damaged our beautiful ship, so we killed her so quickly I don't even remember exactly what happened..."

Bahrin Fenneaor |

Having accompanied his captain, Bahrin chimes in with the occasional color.
"That's right! Impaled on spears of ice and overwhelmed by the might of our blades..."
"Yeah, that was our rampaging gorilla! And the maggot on the run didn't even get away!"
"She thought she was going to take us down with magical bolts but didn't figure that we could do the same!"
Intimidation (untrained) aid: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

DM Davy Jones |

Based on some fast and shifty work by Yuki and Bahrin you manage to earn the maximum 5 infamy in port. (C'mon, natural 20 with aid? I'm gonna reward that. )

Yuki Okano |

GM, could you tell us what our current Infamy is? I'm afraid I've lost track of it.
The next morning, Yuki wakes up invigorated, "All right everybody, let's set sail for Drenchport!"
